City Girls Prepare To Dominate Another Summer In New Song Snippet: Listen

The return of the City Girls is imminent and their new snippet indicates that they’ll have the summer in a chokehold, once again. The Miami-based duo returned to the fold on Saturday with a preview of new music that will serve as an anthem for the coming months. Their Instagram page shared an official snippet of the song, which is rumored to be titled, “Lay It Down.” JT and Yung Miami initially previewed the record nearly a year ago.

With an official snippet, they could be ramping up for a brand new album in the near future. In the three years window since releasing City On Lock, the “Act Up” rappers shared a handful of singles, and several previews of new City Girls music, without a concrete timeline of when we could expect a new project after pushing it back. As a July 2022 release date approached – the same day as Beyoncé’s Renaissance – Yung Miami said they needed to delay its release, citing “issues.” Some felt as though it was because City Girls didn’t want to compete with Bey, which JT denied, tweeting, “Our album NOT finished!!!! TF.”

The City Girls Rev Up For Summer 2023 On New Snippet

Prior to releasing a new snippet of music, City Girls indicated that they’ll be coming through with new heat for the summer. Just before the Caresha, Please host’s acting debut on BMF, JT, and Yung Miami returned to the stage for Rolling Loud California with new music to perform. Many became excited over the possibilities of a City Girls summer, especially after taking some time apart. The release of the new City Girls snippet also aligns with Yung Miami’s February announcement that we could expect a new project in “Spring, Summer.”

Their return to the fold should debunk any speculation that JT and Yung Miami will be splitting up. Though JT confirmed that she doesn’t see her beefing with Yung Miami, she explained that she hopes they can continue to have a prosperous career together as the City Girls. However, JT confirmed that there isn’t any possibility of that happening during an interview with Angie Martinez. “I do not see beefin’ and breaking up with the City Girls at all. Ever! That’s just stupid. I hope we don’t get too busy,” she said. Check out the new City Girls snippet above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Kali Uchis Previews Summer Walker Feature On “Deserve Me”

The promotion for Kali Uchis’ album release has her fandom in a frenzy. Over the weekend, the vocalist shared her latest single “Moonlight,” which will be on Red Moon in Venus. The album isn’t too feature-heavy, with only three artists appearing on the 15-track project. Her boyfriend, Love Sick crooner Don Toliver, is listed as one, as well as Omar Apollo and Summer Walker. Now, a snippet of her Summer collab is officially here, and it’s shaping out to be her next big hit.

Kali took to TikTok yesterday to show off Summer Walker’s celestial vocals. On “Deserve Me,” the Atlanta songstress stays true to form as she tells a man off for not knowing how to act. “I don’t deserve the s**t you put me through / Like you don’t know that you’re lucky / Make a cute n***a feel ugly / Like I got time for callin’ you,” she sings. In the original posting, Kali Uchis says Walker’s verse is her favorite on the song. She then proceeded to delete the video and repost the track in a new one, telling fans “I like this video better” as she shows off her figure in all-black.

Immediately after posting, fans went off in the comments. “MOTHER IS MOTHERING,” writes one, with another calling “Deserve Me” “The collab of my dreams.” The visual follows Kali’s appearance on Don Toliver’s 90s-inspired “4 Me” single. On it, the lovers sample Beenie Man and Mya’s ever-popular “Girls Dem Sugar,” coupled with hitmaker Wheezy on production. Kali Uchis has also been featured on Life of a Don’s second single, “Drugs N Hella Melodies.” The two lovebirds tap each other together again for Uchis’ “Fantasy,” which can be heard on Red Moon In Venus.

Last month, Kali Uchis announced the forthcoming project after dropping “I Wish You Roses,” her first offering of the year. The singer says the ethereal track “is about being able to release people with love.” “It could be a friend, a lover, or someone else,” she continues, “but the point is to celebrate releasing people from your life without being resentful or bitter.” Stay tuned for more from Kali upon her third studio release, out this Friday (March 3).

Latto Goes Full Pop In New Song Preview

Latto isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The ATL rapper propelled to the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Big Energy.” It gained further steam when Mariah Carey hopped on the remix. However, it seems like she’s aiming for a #1 hit next.

The rapper took to Instagram this week where she shared a snippet of new music. Latto, along with two friends, throw dollar bills in the studio while the disco-pop single blared through the speakers. Throughout the video, Latto’s filming with a camcorder, which will likely land in the official music video for the song. “Pop Latto loading…,” she captioned the post.

A lot of her fans praised the direction she went in during the snippet. Others felt as if it was an unoriginal attempt at a radio record. Some people compared the single to Doja Cat’s “Say So” and Saweetie’s “Closer” ft. H.E.R.

Latto’s unveiled a few singles in recent times but none of them are particularly indicative of how her next project will sound. In early December, she linked up with GloRilla and the late Gangsta Boo for “FTCU,” a muddy Memphis banger that samples Three 6 Mafia. Then, she closed out the year with “Another Nasty Song.” Just last week, she released a new freestyle over SZA’s “Smoking On My Ex Pack.”

Besides revving up for a new single, Latto made headlines this week after selling a pair of her panties online. eBay later removed the listing because it violated their health and hygiene policies.

She hasn’t set a release date for her new single but it seems like it could arrive sometime this week. Check the snippet below.

Lil Wayne Snippet Teased On Juelz Santana’s Instagram

Juelz Santana just shared a snippet of a new Lil Wayne song on his Instagram. Moreover, he teased a new album on the way, expected to be a Gangsta Grillz tape titled We In Motion set for later this year. In this new snippet, Weezy starts his verse over some menacing bell hits and what sound like string swells. Whatever Santana’s cooking up, it seems the New Orleans veteran will deliver some heat.

“Ayo, the cocaine whiter, the rope chain brighter,” Wayne raps on his part. However, the clip abruptly ends before we can hear more. There’s a spoken word bit right before, or at least that’s what’s noticeable from the snippet. Also, Santana dons a face mask as he sits in front of the mixed song on a computer. Amid empty Pepsi cans and a half-smoked blunt, it looked like he was in the studio for a while.

Moreover, Santana teased fans with what he’s been cooking with another notable spitter, Joyner Lucas. As he gears up for an anticipated drop, some other developments in his life unfortunately came about. Reality star Kimbella announced her split from the rapper back in December of last year.

While they didn’t reveal much about the breakup, a video that Kimbella shared might contain some hidden answers.

“Arguing 24/7 because his feelings were all that mattered,” she captioned the video. “Begging him to change so we could make it work. Feeling numb because he made you feel like the problem. Watching him mess up again when he promised he’d change. Feeling alone after he lied the whole relationship. Knowing it’s time to give up even though you love him. Figuring out how you’re going to fix yourself after he dragged you down.”

Meanwhile, dropping new music isn’t all that Tunechi is likely worried about. The “A Milli” MC recently lost a $20 million legal battle with his former manager for unfulfilled payments. Still, as one of the most talked-about legends in hip-hop, a brighter news story is probably just around the corner.

Regardless, what do you think of the Lil Wayne snippet shared to Juelz Santana’s Instagram? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, come back to HNHH for more sneak peeks from your favorite rapper’s next release.
