Pro Football Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl champion Shannon Sharpe has made significant strides off the field as a sports commentator and businessman.

Arguably one of the top tight ends in NFL history, the 14-year football vet has since emerged as one of the most viewed sports analysts on television since retiring in 2003 once his broadcast career started a year later for CBS Sports show The NFL Today.

After nearly a decade, Sharpe joined Sirius NFL Radio as a co-host for their Opening Drive morning segment and was later inducted into the NFL Pro Football Hall Of Fame in 2011.

Two years later, the former Denver Bronco and Baltimore Raven later shifted his efforts as a columnist for FitnessRX For Men. He also served as a spokesperson for the brand being featured on the cover of their magazine in Sept. 2013.

But, Sharpes’ big media success came once he joined FOX Sports as a co-host in 2016 with fellow broadcast star Skip Bayless for the highly-rated debate show on FS1 SKIP AND SHANNON: UNDISPUTED.

In the show, Shannon Sharpe and Bayless face off opposite one another weekly to discuss some of the big sports topics of the day.

The 54-year-old eight-time Pro Bowler reportedly has an estimated net worth of $14 million in 2013.

Over the course of playing in the NFL, he has earned more than $20 million.

Sharpe has recently launched a new podcast show with FOX Sports called Club Shay Shay. He sits down one-on-one and interviews athletes, influencers, and celebrities. They discuss the latest topics and trending headlines in sports and pop culture.

Outside of his media ventures, the father of three launched a premium cognac called Shay by Le Portier in 2021.

Shannon Sharpe’s Brand New Luxury Spirits Collaboration

Shay by Le Portier launched in partnership with leading luxury spirits expert Jay Bradley of The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. He is the creator of the world’s most expensive whiskey, The Emerald Isle. It sold at an auction for $2 million, according to reports.

“When I decided to create my own cognac, I knew I had to find someone who really knew about taste and how to build up those layers of flavor I love,” stated Sharpe in a press release.

He added that Le Portier is a testament to his unmatched passion for cognac.

“So much of the inspiration in my life comes from the places I’ve been and people I’ve met through professional football,” Shannon Sharpe said. “I started thinking, ‘What if I could share that sense of connection and conversation with friends with everyone!’ That’s the reason for creating Le Portier Cognac.”

Currently, Shay’s VSOP inaugural cognac release has a retail price of $98.99, with future luxury releases to be announced.

The now award-winning cognac is being recognized with high honors. This includes winning Platinum – Best in Class at the SIP Awards 2022.

So far, Shay by Le Portier has reportedly won seven prestigious awards for taste and design. Therefore, it has beaten established brands such as Courvoisier, Rémy Martin, and Branson by rap superstar Curtis 50 Cent Jackson.

Sharpe states on his website that the premium cognac is dedicated to his grandmother, Mary Porter. She helped raise him and his other siblings in Glenville, Georgia, and helped him become the man he is today.

“There’s no question in my mind I would be where I am…had it not been for her,” he said. “It’s about putting in the work and having the right people on your team to inspire you.”

Sharpe and his siblings, Libby and Sterling, moved with Porter from Chicago, after realizing her daughter needed help raising them.

“I became the player; I became the person; I became the man that I am because of that 1,000 square foot cinder block home,” he added.

Shannon Sharpe is easily one of the most entertaining people on television. Overall, he makes every single episode of Undisputed infinitely better. The energy he brings to the show is infectious. Moreover, he is able to create a solid dynamic with Skip Bayless, who can be very hard to work with. Although the two engage in some pretty difficult debates sometimes, there is no denying they are a dynamic duo. Fans love watching them, and the rising ratings are a testament to their consistency on the air.

As for their most recent debates, there are some very interesting topics that Shannon and Skip have had to cover. One of them is the Los Angeles Clippers, who have struggled a bit since adding Russell Westbrook to the roster. Overall, Russ clearly is not the best fit for that team. Yeah, I like chocolate but what the f*** that have to?” After apologizing, the NFL legend finished his thought by saying “Why would I need chocolate to go with fried chicken?” Although it was an unfortunate thing to have happen, it doesn’t seem like anyone was too upset by it.

There is a lot of unpredictability when it comes to the world of Live TV. Anything can happen at any time, and you need to be prepared for it. Clearly, Sharpe was well prepared for his own mistake. Brett Favre’s Lawyer Thinks Shannon Sharpe & Pat McAfee Will Lose Defamation Case

Brett Favre has been accused of some very damaging crimes as of late. Favre allegedly conspired with the government of Mississippi to divert welfare funds. Overall, these funds allegedly went to creating a volleyball facility at his daughter’s university. There is an ongoing investigation into these accusations, although Favre has maintained his innocence. At this point, it remains to be seen whether or not he will be charged with anything. For now, there are no plans to charge him, but of course, that could change.

Additionally, Favre has launched a defamation lawsuit against the likes of Pat McAfee and Shannon Sharpe. This is due to their coverage of the subject, which Favre believes has been less than favorable. Favre and his lawyer Eric Herschmann are confident that this is worthy of a lawsuit. In fact, Herschmann went on Crain & Company on the Daily Wire where he made the claim that this case is a “slam dunk.” Herschmann said that while Sharpe hasn’t spoken about the lawsuit, McAfee certainly has. The lawyer thinks this has made their case stronger and that McAfee is digging his own grave.

“Shannon Sharpe, since he’d been sued, has been quiet. Pat McAfee keeps talking about it. In all of my years as an attorney and being a prosecutor previously, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a defendant build a case against themselves,” Herschmann said. “His defense was ‘Oh, I threw in the word allegedly’ but two things is; the things that we cite, he didn’t throw in the world ‘allegedly,’ and secondly if he did any research or had a lawyer looking, that’s not really a defense.” This is an interesting analysis of the situation, although it is up to the court to make that final decision.

Boosie BadAzz Slams Skip Bayless For Ja Morant Comments

Boosie BadAzz called out Skip Bayless on Twitter, Monday night, for questioning whether Ja Morant is affiliated with the Crips. The Memphis Grizzlies suspended the All-Star indefinitely for waving a gun during an Instagram Live post over the weekend. Bayless and his Undisputed co-host, Shannon Sharpe, discussed the incident on Monday morning’s episode.

“STOP @RealSkipBayless,” Boosie wrote on Twitter later in the day, “Don’t build the narrative that he’s a real gang member SMH HE NOT NO CRIP‼ HE A PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYER who made a mistake.” While Morant will miss at least two games, he has since apologized for the live stream, which occurred just after a report from The Washington Post detailed multiple other incidents of violence linked to Morant.

As for Bayless’ comments, he mentioned seeing Morant “throwing up a crip sign.” “So I’ve called around the league to people I’ve known forever, talking about Ja,” Bayless said. “Because I was so shocked by the IG Live, how brazen it was. And I had several people say to me, ‘Well, timeout, are you sure you guys on TV aren’t giving him a pass here, like you’re not that?’ They’re asking me, ‘Are you sure he’s not that?’ Like, that’s just who he is, that he is about that life.’ And remember, he’s thrown up the Crips sign, I’ve seen him throw it up two or three times, I’ve probably missed some other times.”

“What does that mean? Does that mean he wants to associate with the Crips?” Bayless further continued. “Or he got initiated by the Crips? Or he has a dream of being a Crip? I don’t know. I’m just throwing this out–that, are we missing the boat here that that’s just who he’s been from the start and we keep saying, ‘No, you’re just associated with the wrong people,’ when he’s actually part of the wrong people.”

Sharpe took Bayless’ side in the conversation. He also added: “You know what Skip? You and the people you talked to might be 100 percent correct, but that makes it even more egregious. Because you got out of that.”

Shannon Sharpe Hits Ja Morant With A Reality Check

Shannon Sharpe has been a huge critic of the Memphis Grizzlies this season. Overall, a lot of that has to do with the fact that the Grizzlies have been talking a big game all year long. However, they haven’t always been able to back up that talk. In fact, Sharpe got into an altercation with some Grizzlies players during a game against the Lakers. Subsequently, Shannon apologized and he has simply focused on providing analysis of the game. However, players like Ja Morant have made it difficult for Shannon to only talk about the on-court product.

In the last week or so, Morant has been wrapped up in numerous controversies. Firstly, he was accused of threatening a mall cop and threatening a teenager with a gun. Moreover, Morant flashed a gun on Instagram Live while at a strip club. This immediately led to an indefinite suspension that could very well spell the end of his season. Today, on Undisputed, Sharpe was tasked with speaking about the Ja situation. That is when he praised the Grizzlies star for apologizing. Although, he made sure to include a reality check for the burgeoning superstar.

“Ja was traveling down a road he didn’t need to be on,” Shannon Sharpe said. “I’m glad it didn’t take something tragic or catastrophic for you to realize the error of your ways.” Following this statement, Sharpe went on to say that if you continue to flash guns on social media, people will want to test whether or not you’re about that life. He even likened it to people getting robbed after flashing their wealth. Overall, it is a very salient point that Morant should certainly keep in mind.

Ultimately, his behavior could lead him down a path of destruction. The NBA is trying to maintain its image, and the Grizzlies want to protect Ja from himself. Although it is a bad situation, it seems like it is being worked out. Hopefully, Morant is able to learn from this, and eventually move on. Skip Bayless & Shannon Sharpe React To Ja Morant’s Alleged Threats

It was inevitable that the latest reports surrounding Ja Morant would be discussed on Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless’s Undisputed. The Grizzlies’ point guard’s behavior off the court raised eyebrows throughout the past several months. He emerged as one of the leading players in the NBA but his actions are undoubtedly questionable. Sharpe previously warned Ja Morant to clean up his act, especially for an individual whose talents prevented him from diving into the streets. “I wish Ja would realize he’s not a thug,” Sharpe said earlier this month. “You’re not about that life! No one looks at you and thinks you’re hood. Stop pretending!!”

On Wednesday, reports emerged claiming Ja Morant threatened a 17-year-old during a pick-up game and a mall security guard in a separate incident. Morant allegedly flashed a gun during a pick-up game and punched the teen repeatedly last summer. He hasn’t publicly responded to the claims. Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless have been on the air together for over six years now. When Bayless decided to leave ESPN, he handpicked Shannon to be his broadcast partner. Overall, Undisputed has been a massive success thanks to the dynamic these two have. Although Skip is the old guard of hot-take merchants, Shannon offers a unique perspective as a professional athlete. Moreover, he is wildly entertaining, and fans love hearing him talk on the show. It is good to see that Skip and Shannon are going to continue their show together. Ultimately, it would be a real shame to see Undisputed end.
