August Alsina Shares His Feelings About Dating Another Man

August Alsina has come a long way since the cheating scandal involving Jada Pinkett Smith. Moreover, he learned a lot about himself, his relationship with love, and his own perception of his sexuality. The R&B singer recently appeared on the Counsel Culture program with Nick Cannon and others to talk about his romantic feelings and how he perceives the bond he creates with other prospective partners. Overall, he said that he doesn’t try to define himself by gender or sexuality norms, and instead sees love as a language that he is “fluent” in with various different genders and sexual orientations.

“To be honest with you, bro, it’s not even me that’s opening my heart,” August Alsina said of his “love for another man.” “It’s that power that’s higher than myself. I always say that the greatest gift that God could have ever given me was exposure. To expose me to so many different kinds of people, places, things. So it’s like, when people want you to define yourself as whether you’re gay, straight, bisexual, or whatever it is you was just talking about, love is much more complex than that and has much more depth. So for me, I’m just the kind of person that, because love is a language, I’m fluent in love when it speaks to me.”

“Why do us as humans have to have such direct answers or definitions of, like, ‘Are you straight?’” Nick Cannon remarked after August Alsina’s thoughts. “‘Are you this? Do you love her? Why do you got so many baby mamas?‘ *laughs* No, but I’m just saying, because everybody says, ‘You can’t love that woman if you are not ina traditional one-on-one relationship with her.’ And therefore, now, I don’t love the mothers of my children because I don’t define it the way that you define it.”

“You can’t take it personal because we haven’t all been exposed to the same things,” August Alsina added. “People have a very monolithic way of viewing things.” No matter where you fall on this debate, it’s very clear that these conversations of love are not only important, but as these individuals posit, they are wide-ranging.

Roger Bonds Addresses Diddy & Felix Da Housecat Relationship Rumors

Rumors of Diddy’s sexuality have run rampant amid his various lawsuits on accusations of sexual assault, abuse, and sex trafficking, but his former head of security Roger Bonds is clearing up one particular rumor. Moreover, he recently spoke to DJ Vlad on VladTV about the specific speculation that the Bad Boy mogul was in a relationship of sorts with DJ Felix Da Housecat. Bonds stated that, while he had knowledge that Felix was a part of Sean Combs’ inner circle, he never saw anything explicitly sexual or romantic between them. Da Housecat was one of many of the New York executive’s frequent party guests, and they would allegedly take ecstasy together which, along with other substances, meant that increased affection did not reflect their true sexuality.

Furthermore, along with these claims, Roger Bonds suggested that Diddy coming out as bisexual, if that actually is his orientation, would now benefit his case amid his many other controversies. Still, it sounds exploitative and harmful to hide behind appeals to inclusion and the LGBTQIA2+ community to excuse or obfuscate allegations of serious criminal behavior. Nevertheless, Bonds maintained that the accusations of domestic violence against Combs are much more important to address and determine accountability for than any rumors about his sexuality. In his opinion, more transparency and honesty in the past could’ve mitigated much of the current controversy around Puff Daddy.

Roger Bonds Speaks On Diddy & Felix Da Housecat

As far as other developments in this scandal, it seems like Diddy’s going offline. He recently wiped all of his Instagram posts from his account, including a backlash-inducing and conversation-spurring apology video to Cassie. The footage of the 54-year-old assaulting her in a hotel hallway shocked the world and sent this case further into a downward spiral. We’ll see whether or not he plans to post anything else.

Meanwhile, all this didn’t stop Roger Bonds from claiming that Diddy invited male sex workers for “freak-offs” with him and Cassie. It seems like his philosophy on all this is to be careful about the specifics. One accusation can be true, while another can be false despite whatever close similarities it might have to the former. It’s all a very complicated web, but again, there are other alleged crimes and behaviors that are much more crucial to get to the bottom of.

KAYTRANADA Thanks Freddie Gibbs For His Early Support After Coming Out

Ahead of his new album Timeless coming out next week on June 7, KAYTRANADA recently gave Rolling Stone a wonderful interview. In it, he reflects on much of his personal evolution and his career trajectory, with one particular moment being a key point of support and reminiscing. Moreover, the Haitian-Canadian producer came out as gay in a 2016 piece with The FADER, and took this RS opportunity to reflect on that development. Specifically, he spoke on how Freddie Gibbs was one of the first artists to champion his experience and perspective, which gave him hope moving forward in an industry that used to treat the LGBTQIA2+ community much more harshly, and that sometimes still falls victim to that bigotry.

I still don’t think many people know that I’m gay. Even with that story,” KAYTRANADA remarked to Rolling Stone. “Freddie Gibbs was one of the first artists that was like, ‘I’m proud of you, man, keep doing your thing.’ I thought that was crazy. That gave me hope. Now, we got Lil Nas X and rappers from the LGBT community just coming out. R&B artists, too. It’s more acceptable and more welcome. I heard Snoop [Dogg] and Dr. Dre were performing at Pride in L.A. That’s crazy.” Freddie even quote-tweeted coverage of this thankfulness with another sweet message: “That’s my homie in real life tho [fingers crossed emoji].”

Freddie Gibbs Responds To KAYTRANADA’s Thankfulness

As for their link-ups, KAYTRANADA and Freddie Gibbs have a couple of tracks together, namely “My Dope House,” “Alexys,” and the KAYTRAMINÉ cut “letstalkaboutit.” Hopefully the Big Boss Rabbit and the “Lover/Friend” sonic wizard reunite for some more collabs in the future. While Freddie won’t appear on Timeless (as listed at press time), there are plenty of other amazing guests to look forward to. These include Channel Tres, Childish Gambino, PinkPantheress, Don Toliver, Charlotte Day Wilson, Thundercat, Anderson .Paak, Mariah The Scientist, Ravyn Lenae, and many more.

Meanwhile, KAYTRANADA is fresh off releasing one of the surefire summer bops of 2024 with Mach-Hommy and 03 Greedo’s “#RICHAXXHAITIAN,” the titular track off Mach’s newest masterpiece. If Timeless lives up to that moniker, we’re in for an absolute treat. Surely we’ll get some more breezy jams and bops to blast all the way through blistering days under the sun. But most importantly, it’s great to hear KAYTRA reflect on those who had his back every step of the way.
