It’s no secret that Diddy’s been wrapped up in a great deal of legal problems as of late. The Bad Boy Records founder is facing several lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and other alleged crimes. In addition to that, he’s currently at the center of a federal sex trafficking investigation. Two of the mogul’s mansions were raided by Homeland Security last month, putting him and his family up for more public scrutiny than ever.
Now, in one small attempt to fire back, his legal team filed a motion earlier this week to dismiss some of the claims made in Joi Dickerson-Neal’s lawsuit. She accuses Diddy of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 1991 and filed her suit in November. His team is arguing that he can’t be sued for allegedly breaking laws that weren’t in place at the time.
Diddy’s Team Argues That He Can’t Be Sued For Allegedly Breaking Laws That Didn’t Exist At The Time
The motion lists statutes, including those involving revenge porn and human trafficking, that weren’t around until years after the alleged assault. Diddy’s team is asking for all claims under these statutes to be dismissed with prejudice. With that being said, they’ve also continuously denied the allegations. “This last-minute lawsuit is an example of how a well-intentioned law [New York State’s Adult Survivors Act] can be turned on its head. Ms. Dickerson’s 32-year-old story is made up and not credible. Mr. Combs never assaulted her and she implicates companies that did not exist. This is purely a money grab and nothing more,” Diddy said previously via a spokesperson.
The judge has yet to make a ruling on the matter. What do you think of Diddy’s team filing a motion to dismiss certain claims in Joi Dickerson-Neal’s lawsuit against him? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
In the last decade or so, Trey Songz has been attached to one lawsuit or the other. The R&B singer has found himself caught in an endless series of legal battles over the past few years. It won’t be a stretch to say that these allegations have all but overshadowed his music career. The most recent of these, a lawsuit from two years ago was recently settled out of court and probably cost Trey Songz an ample sum of money.
News of the lawsuit against Trey Songz first broke in February 2022. A woman, identified in court documents as “Jane Doe,” stepped forward with allegations against the “I Invented Sex” singer. She claimed that Trey Songz had allegedly sexually assaulted her at a party in 2016. This reportedly set off a chain of events that would unfold over the next few years before she eventually decided to sue.
In the lawsuit, she admitted having a consensual relationship with Trey Songz before the incident. According to her report, Songz invited her to his room upstairs at a house party in Los Angeles. Soon after, he allegedly proceeded to coerce her into having anal sex with him. However, when she kept turning him down, Songz allegedly became angry and got physically aggressive. Specifically, she alleged that Songz pinned her to the ground, tore off her clothes, and committed the act even as she pleaded with him to stop. The suit also included reports of a sexual assault exam conducted on the woman at an Emergency Care Unit in Burbank.
But his abuse didn’t end there that night. Jane Doe also revealed that she had crossed paths with Trey Songz again in New York. She insists that she was subjected to further humiliation from the singer. According to her, Songz had resorted to name-calling and had even sicced his security guards on her.
The Lawsuit Against Trey Songz
At first, it seemed as if Trey Songz would be left off scot-free as Jane Doe’s initial $20 million civil lawsuit hit a snag. His legal team argued that the claim had exceeded the statute of limitations. However, the woman in question refused to back down. She came back swinging again in 2023, upping the settlement costs to $25 million, and doubling down on her accusations. Additionally, she filed a lawsuit against Trey Songz’s manager Kevin Liles.
As the news emerged, the public couldn’t help but weigh in. Trey’s fans, loyal to the core, struggled to reconcile the image of their favorite heartthrob with the troubling allegations swirling around him. Meanwhile, skeptics and gossip mongers had a field day dissecting every detail of the scandal, and how the allegations tie in so well with other assault allegations brought against him in the past.
Trey Songz has been accused of sexual and physical assault on and off since at least 2012. In fact, at the time of the first lawsuit in 2022, Trey Songz was facing allegations from two different women. One of the allegations was from a woman identified as Jahaura Jeffries. This concerned a 2018 New Years Eve party incident that took place at rapper Diddy’s home on Star Island.
Some of these allegations have also come from women in the public eye. The popular actress Keke Palmer has been vocal about her run-in with Songz in the past. She accused him of sexual harassment and intimidation in 2017 after he used a video clip she did not consent to recording in his music video for “Pick Up The Phone.” Palmer also claimed that she had to hide in a closet when his attempts allegedly began to get aggressive. WNBA player Dylan Gonzalez also came out in January 2022 to accuse Songz of allegedly assaulting her in a Las Vegas hotel.
Trey Songz’s legal team reached out to the courts not long after conditionally settling the lawsuit out of court. This occurred in April for an undisclosed amount. The legal document, as reported by Radar Online, read: “The settlement agreement conditions dismissal of this matter on the satisfactory completion of specified terms that are not to be performed within 45 days of the date of the settlement. A request for dismissal will be filed no later than June 10, 2024.” This means that the trial date which had previously been set for September 16, 2024 will now be vacated.
In the swirling pool of allegations and with the ongoing scandal involving Diddy, it’s a surprise to many that the mogul still has people on his side. In fact, a number of celebrities have voiced their support for him. As the world anticipates the conclusion of this important pop culture event, Diddy’s defenders are maintaining their position. These artists have stepped forward, lending their voices and using their platforms to wish him well in these times. It’s a very polarizing situation, but as the scandal is ongoing, let’s look at some artists who have openly supported and defended Diddy.
Following the scandal of Homeland Security’s raid on Diddy’s Los Angeles and Miami homes in March, Tyrese stepped forward to support Diddy. In a now-deleted open letter on Instagram, Tyrese offered his sympathy and prayers. Alongside a black-and-white photo of Diddy, he also reminisced about “the fun,” “the inspiration,” and “the legendary parties.” In his caption, he wrote: “What I can’t do and what I won’t do is downplay the laughter, the fun, the energy, the inspiration, the awards shows, the studio sessions, the most legendary parties and events I’ve ever attended in my life… I love this brother he’s been nothing but kind and generous towards me and that’s the way I feel. Praying and praying for more of a better outcome of all of this is happening. God bless you Diddy if you ever need to call me and just need a listening ear, I’m right here bro.”
Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the former Murder Inc. rapper publicly expressed support for Diddy amidst his scandal. He conveyed empathy for the purported victims while also offering words of encouragement to Diddy. Ja Rule stated: “It’s another Black man in this industry going through some unfortunate circumstances. I wish him luck with everything he’s going through, and if there’s victims in this. I can’t speak on things I don’t know about Piers… but I wish everybody love.”
Slim Thug has consistently voiced his support for Diddy amidst the scandal. Slim had previously spoken up for Diddy when the music mogul was facing sex trafficking claims. Recently, he took to Instagram to criticize both fans and Diddy’s peers for seemingly reveling in the downfall of Sean “Diddy” Combs. He wrote: “We can’t just really go off of he-say, she-say… It’s tough to see so many people want to see him crash out like this. I don’t want to see a Black man who came so far, almost to a billion dollars, fall down. That’s our inspiration. It ain’t too many of us. They took Kanye down. We losing another billionaire over allegations at this point. Still ain’t no criminal charges.”
Uncle Luke
Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell, the former 2 Live Crew icon, has also recently stepped up in defense of Diddy, putting forth a conspiracy theory. He suggests a connection between Diddy’s current legal challenges and his past disputes with the liquor brand Diageo. Campbell aired his views during an Instagram Live stream, addressing the Diddy scandal. He also expressed shock that not more people are supporting the rapper.
“When you get your billions, and they put you on a pedestal, that’s because they put you up on a pedestal,” he said. “They made you the guy. They place you on every network. They sold you to all y’all on here. They put you up on a pedestal because they need you. It’s like some pimp shit.”
E. Ness
E. Ness, a former member of Bad Boy Entertainment, has vocally thrown his support behind Diddy amidst the scandal, asserting that his ex-CEO is the target of a malicious smear campaign. In a recent appearance on the Directed by CEO Nafees podcast, E. Ness reiterated his stance, expressing disbelief in Diddy’s guilt and suggesting a concerted effort to tarnish his reputation. He stated: “It’s a smear campaign. That’s what’s happening with Puff. It’s a smear campaign. And what they usually do is they go to your personal habits. They start attacking your personal habits, your girlfriends, and your exes. Then they try to find something to attack you through those vessels.”
Today, DaBaby took to Instagram to share a clip of a questionable fan encounter he experienced recently, which has since sparked uproar. In the clip, he’s seen sitting in his car at a gas station when a woman approaches him looking for a photo. After posing for the selfie, and making some suggestive comments, the woman says goodbye and tells him to be safe. Before walking away, however, she gropes his genitals. He closes the door as she leaves, saying “She just sexually assaulted me. Boy, let’s go.”
Several reports have since been made about the incident, prompting a debate about the encounter among social media users. Several commenters note that the fan took things entirely too far, and should have respected his personal space and kept her hands to herself. Others think that DaBaby was joking, and wouldn’t have shared the clip and seemed so unfazed had he been upset by the incident.
“She touched his genitals without consent. That is indeed sexual assault. Dismissing it is ins*ne,” one Instagram user says. “If you truly feel sexually assaulted you would not be giggling,” another argues. Amid the debate, DaBaby entered The Shade Room‘s comments section to come to the woman’s defense. “Don’t do Auntie dat. It’s all good, enjoy the moment baby [heart emoji],” he wrote. While it doesn’t appear as though DaBaby is distraught over the interaction, users note that the fan still took things too far, and is lucky that the performer didn’t decide to press charges or put her on blast.
What do you think of a DaBaby fan groping his genitals after meeting him at a gas station? Do you think she deserves all of the backlash she’s receiving online? What about him taking to Instagram to say it’s “all good”? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
Earlier this week, Diddy’s son Christian “King” Combs was hit with a new lawsuit from a woman named Grace O’Marcaigh. She accuses him of sexually assaulting her in 2022 when she worked on a yacht leased by Combs’ family. O’Marcaigh believes she could have been drugged by the 26-year-old, according to her lawsuit. She claims to have audio recordings of the incident, captured by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a producer who’s currently suing Diddy for sexual misconduct and more. Diddy is also named as a defendant in her suit, as she accuses him of aiding and abetting his son. She’s seeking unspecified damages.
The Combs’ lawyer, Aaron Dyer, has now released a statement in response to the allegations. He denies O’Marcaigh’s claims, also going after her lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn. Blackburn is also representing Lil Rod amid his legal battle with the Bad Boy Records founder.
Grace O’Marcaigh Sues Christian Combs, Names Diddy As Defendant
“This is just another lewd and meritless claim from Tyrone Blackburn — just like what he filed in the Rodney Jones lawsuit, which he still has not served,” Dyer’s statement begins. “This complaint is filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts we’ve come to expect from Blackburn. This is exactly why the federal judge in New York slapped him two days ago for a ‘pattern of behavior’ in ‘improperly [filing] cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly,’ and why he was referred to the disciplinary committee in the Southern District of New York. We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim.”

For the last decade or so, Trey Songz has faced multiple allegations and lawsuits. These have been for all manners of reported crimes, from sexual and physical assault to kidnapping. While some of the cases have been brought up by anonymous people who aren’t in the spotlight, there have been a few incidents of celebrities calling out the singer. Although he’s repeatedly denied these allegations, there has been a pattern too repetitive to simply overlook. Here are some of the celebrities who have called out Trey Songz over the years.
In 2017, Keke Palmer spoke out about Trey Songz. She claimed he used “sexual intimidation” to coerce her into being in a music video. Palmer was at the singer’s house for a party when they began filming a music video for his song, “Pick Up The Phone.” Palmer found out that a clip of her had been featured in the video after its release, even after she had denied consent to being in the video multiple times. She subsequently took legal action against Trey Songz. Moreover, she remains one of the most prominent names to call him out for inappropriate behavior.
Bebe Rexha
In 2020, when accusations against Trey Songz started to increase, an old interview of singer Bebe Rexha from 2015 was unearthed. In the resurfaced clip, she alleged that Songz forced himself on her. Both artists were guests at a private wedding, which Rexha says was her lawyer’s wedding. She claimed that Songz had been looking at her all day. Soon after, he allegedly followed her to the pool house, where he forced a kiss on her.
Another claim against Trey Songz came in 2023 from Instagram model Celina Powell and her friend Aliza. Powell explained that they had met up after DM-ing for a while. He allegedly took her phone and kept her locked in a house for two days, forcing her to do sexual acts with him. Her friend, Aliza, also shared that she had a similar experience with Songz. She claimed the singer held her against her will in a hotel. While she was captive, he allegedly performed multiple sexual acts on her, including urinating on her.
Dylan Gonzalez
One of the most shocking allegations against Trey Songz happened in 2021. WNBA athlete Dylan Gonzalez tweeted, “Trey Songz is a rapist. Lord forgive me, I couldn’t hold that in another year. See you in 2022.” The tweet rocked the internet, and although Gonzales was initially silent, she shared more on Instagram. In her statement, she shared that Trey Songz had raped her in a Las Vegas hotel. Gonzalez also said that she had already hired an attorney to pursue legal action.
In 2022, Sarunas Jackson exposed Songz on the Guys Next Door podcast. This came after he allegedly witnessed an incident between the singer and a woman. The Insecure actor shared that he had witnessed Songz physically intimidating a woman, only to calm down when another man showed up. He emphasized that he didn’t support men who only respected other men but walked all over women. Jackson was also vocally against Songz when Dylan Gonzalez came forward with her allegations.
Jacquees
Earlier in 2024, fellow R&B singer Jacquees also leveled some allegations against Trey Songz. He shared a picture of some of his dreads in a now-deleted Instagram post, claiming that Trey Songz had pulled them out in a fight in Dubai. In later posts still referring to the incident, he called Songz a rapist. Furthermore, he claimed that Songz had been speaking about his rape accusations in the club.
Local Dallas media is reporting that the Cowboys have opened an investigation into Dak Prescott over allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman in the parking lot of a strip club in 2017. Team representatives would only confirm that they were aware of the allegations and that an investigation was taking place.
However, Prescott has filed a lawsuit, alleging that the woman is attempting to extort $100M from him. Prescott is seeking $1M in damages, which he will donate to a charity that aids sexual violence survivors. The allegations of sexual assault emerged earlier this year. Prescott was served notice by attorneys representing a woman who was accusing him of assault in 2017. “Despite the tragic events, she is willing to forego pursuing criminal charges, along with disclosing this information to the public, in exchange for compensating her for the mental anguish she has suffered. [The woman’s] damages are valued at the sum of $100,000,000.00,” the letter read.
Cowboys Cheerleaders Accuse Packers Players Of “Unsportsmanlike Conduct”
Elsewhere, a Cowboys cheerleader has spoken out over what she called “unsportsmanlike conduct” on the part of the Green Bay Packers. “I have never experienced such disrespect from the other teams’ players to the cheerleaders in my five years as an NFL cheerleader. We would literally be minding our own business and the Packers just scored a touchdown — this is one example. They would come up to us standing on the sidelines minding our own business and start yelling at us,” Darian Lassiter said on TikTok.
Furthermore, Lassiter questioned why cheerleaders were not covered by rules addressing player behavior. “I feel like it’s unsportsmanlike conduct. And it’s so crazy how they can’t do that to the Cowboys players or any other players. But they can do it to the cheerleaders and nothing’s going to happen. I understand the playoffs is a huge deal. While I truly get it, that does not mean your humbleness and respect for women flies out the window.”

However, Prescott – who was in his sophomore NFL season in 2017 – has vehemently denied the allegations. “Mr. Prescott — a new father to a baby girl — has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault. He fervently believes that all perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never engaged in any nonconsensual, sexual conduct with anyone. Lies hurt. Especially, malicious lies. We will not allow the defendant and her legal team to profit from this attempt to extort millions from Mr. Prescott,” his attorney said.

Since Cassie filed her bombshell lawsuit against Diddy in November, the Bad Boy Records founder has been hit with a slew of additional allegations. Most recently, he was accused of sexual misconduct against producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who alleges he was groped by the mogul. While the disturbing allegations have left the hip-hop community largely divided, he continues to receive support from several of his peers.
During a recent appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, for example, Ja expressed sympathy for both Diddy and his alleged victims. While he chose not to speak on any of the allegations in particular, he wished luck to all those involved. “It’s another Black man in this industry going through some unfortunate circumstances,” he explained. “I wish him luck with everything he’s going through — and if there’s victims in this. I can’t speak on things that I don’t know about, Piers … but I wish everybody love.”
Ja Rule Weighs In On Diddy’s Onslaught Of Lawsuits
Ja Rule continued, asserting his belief that one’s punishment should align with their alleged wrongdoings. “It’s a very unfortunate thing for the victims of these situations, and for the people who are also being accused of these situations,” he said. “I believe in justice and I believe in the punishment fitting the crime.” He went on to argue that those making false accusations should be put behind bars.
“If people get convicted of the things these people are saying then they should be put in jail. But I also believe, on the flip side, if people are lying about these things they should also be taken to court, tried and be put in prison as well.” What do you think of Ja Rule showing public support for Diddy amid his allegations? In recent months, Diddy has been hit by a plethora of lawsuits for alleged sexual assault, abuse, and more. His ex Cassie was the first to come forward in November, though they settled shortly after she filed. The following month, an anonymous woman accused him, Harve Pierre, and another unnamed man of sexually assaulting her in 2003.
The Bad Boy Records founder fired back in a motion to dismiss last week, alleging that his constitutional rights are being violated. “(Combs) never participated in, witnessed, or was or is presently aware of any misconduct, sexual or otherwise, relating to plaintiff in any circumstance whatsoever,” the filing reads. “Plaintiff’s decision to wait more than two decades to file her complaint has prejudiced defendant, as he has lost the ability to defend himself fully and fairly in this action.”
Days later, on February 23, a supplemental memorandum of law was filed on Diddy’s behalf. Similarly, the filing denies any wrongdoing on his part. “The lawsuit… Has resulted in them becoming victims of the ‘cancel culture’ frenzy in the courts,” it reads. “Well before any evidence has been presented, and on the basis of rank, uncorroborated allegations.” Diddy and his team want the complaint dismissed with prejudice, arguing that the statute of limitations expired in 2010.
Harve Pierre also denies the allegations. He told the court he “never participated in the sexual assault of the plaintiff nor did he ever witness anyone else sexually assaulting the plaintiff” earlier this month. What do you think of Diddy claiming to be a victim of cancel culture? What about his attempt at getting his gang rape lawsuit tossed out?
