GloRilla Shares Profanity Laced Rant Against The Concept Of Sex Appeal

Throughout her breakthrough across the past few years, sex appeal has always been a part of GloRilla’s music. She’s no stranger to showing off her good looks in memorable outfits and has become an expert at flexing sensual dance moves in her music videos. That was the case once again with her most recent single “Wanna Be” which features Megan Thee Stallion. The sensual video attached to the song features Megan and Glo throwing their own version of a frat party.

Even though sex appeal has always been part of GloRilla’s creative output, she recently made a post speaking out against the very concept. “Mfs luv talking about sex appeal baby f*ck da sex appeal I got DA SEX dats what’s gone get ya n*gga took in real life, PUSSY GOOD CHECK ion gotta do allat extra shit Fym you hoes be sexy ash with no walls coochie dry asf f*ck outta here,” her profanity-laced tweet reads. Despite her all over the place point, many fans in the replies completely agree with what she’s saying. Check out the post and some of the reactions to it below.

GloRilla Fires Off About Sex Appeal

GloRilla is fresh off the release of her new mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang earlier this month. The project sports the previously mentioned Megan Thee Stallion collaboration alongside appearances from Moneybagg Yo, Kevo Muney, Boston Richey, and Finesse2Tymes. It’s her first new project since the Anyways.. Life’s Great EP dropped in late 2022.

Earlier this year, GloRilla appeared a few times on the Gangsta Art 2 compilation album for her label CMG. She handles the opening track all by herself and later hops on the posse cut “Wrong One.” The track that got the most attention was “Cha Cha Cha” with Fivio Foreign, though for the most part it wasn’t exactly positive attention. What do you think of GloRilla;s rant against sex appeal and in favor of having receipts? Do you agree with her take that sex appeal isn’t everything? Let us know in the comment section below.

GloRilla Updates Us On Her Sex Appeal While Belly Rolling To Beyonce’s “Beautiful Liar”: Watch

Aside from their beautiful voices, many of the biggest names in music are talked about for one other major thing – their bodies. Whether slamming Lizzo for loving her plus-sized self, Latto for considering a second round of surgery, or GloRilla for being “too skinny,” social media never struggles to find something to complain about. The “FNF” hitmaker has managed to stay positive and even crack jokes through the criticism she faces, however, Glo revealed this weekend that she’s taking the feedback she got after performing at the BET Awards seriously.

While the 23-year-old attempted to bring a new level of sexy to the show, some wish she would’ve stuck to her usual, hyped-up self. At the time, she joked about viewers wanting her to dance like Chief Keef, but behind closed doors she’s really been working on her belly rolls. “I wanna show y’all something,” Glo told the camera in the beginning of her video. “I love constructive criticism, and y’all told me to work on my sex appeal… Y’all told me I need to be more feminine, so I’m channelling my inner Beyonce,” she added before queuing up her music.

GloRilla Dances to Beyonce and Shakira’s “Beautiful Liar”

The rap diva’s sensual song of choice is Bey and Shakira’s “Beautiful Liar” from the former’s B’Day album. GloRilla’s confidence shines through as she wiggles her hips along to the beat. Unfortunately, not everyone is feeling this performance either. “Just be the hood ni**a [you] are,” one user suggested in @theshaderoom’s comments. “Girl Call Coi [Leray] for skinny girl assistance,” another told the CMG artist.

Aside from taking her constructive criticism from the BET Awards seriously, GloRilla has also been showing off her lyrical skills. After seeing the success of Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor,” the Memphis native joined a handful of other female rappers who shared their own versions or the hit single. Blackstarkids Announce Their New Album, ‘Cyberkiss,’ And Premiere A New Song Called ‘Sex Appeal’

Blackstarkids are throwing it back to the aughts on their upcoming album. Today, the band has announced Cyberkiss, which is set to arrive this fall, and take inspiration from artists like N.E.R.D., Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, and Outkast.

Ahead of the album, the band has dropped a new single called “Sex Appeal,” on which the group members channel the futuristic stylings of the icons who came before them, while exuding a fresh confidence and bringing a welcome, much-needed eccentricity back to music. “Don’t talk to me unless you’ve got sex appeal,” says the group, over a track reminiscent of early Pharrell beats.

“This song is a homage to 2000s Neptunes, Timbaland, and Missy,” said Blackstarkids in a statement. “As well as, lyrically, a homage to Jay Z. ‘Light Your Ass On Fire’ from Clones was a big inspiration on this track, and we wanted to have a song that felt fun and confident.”
