Cassie Reportedly Tried To Settle Diddy Allegations Privately Before Bombshell Lawsuit

Cassie reportedly attempted to settle her allegations against Diddy privately with her ex-boyfriend before filing her bombshell lawsuit against him. Attorney and legal commentator Donte Mills made the claim while discussing the case for Law & Crime’s upcoming three-episode podcast series, The Rise and Fall of Diddy.

“She came to him before she filed [any] lawsuit and said, ‘I believed I was wronged by you,’” Mills alleged, according to a preview of the series obtained by The Guardian on Monday. “And she gave him an opportunity to settle the case before she brought [a] lawsuit.” He further alleged: “I know that both Sean Combs’ attorneys and Cassie’s attorneys were in conversation, in talks, to see if they can resolve the lawsuit, but they were not able to and those settlement negotiations fell through.” Cassie’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, previously alleged Diddy offered his client “eight figures” in an attempt to “silence her.”

Cassie and Diddy ended up settling the lawsuit just one day after the initial public filing. “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” she said in a statement at the time. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.” Diddy also addressed the settlement through his attorney: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

That was far from the end of Diddy’s legal troubles, however. Over the course of the next year, countless alleged victims came forward with allegations about the Bad Boy mogul. Authorities also arrested him on charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering in September. He’s already pleaded not guilty and denied all the allegations against him. His trial will kick off in May 2025.

TI & Tiny Demand Their Former Friend Is Held In Contempt Until She Covers Her Debts

TI and Tiny have asked a judge to hold Sabrina Peterson in contempt of court and sanction her $1,000 each day that she doesn’t pay them their settlement money. She has been refusing to pay approximately $96,000 in legal fees after she had her lawsuit against them dismissed.

“Despite this court’s repeated orders that [Sabrina] pay [T.I. and Tiny] their statutory attorneys’ fees and costs, [Sabrina] has continuously and willfully refused to do so,” the couple’s attorneys wrote in a new filing obtained by In Touch Weekly. “Her blatant noncompliance with the orders not only demonstrates a disregard for the authority of this court but also imposes an unfair and ongoing financial burden on [T.I. and Tiny], who have been forced to expend additional resources to recover the attorney fees to which they are rightfully entitled.”

In Peterson’s lawsuit against the couple, she accused them of trade libel, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and intentional and negligent interference with prospective economic advantage. An appeals court dismissed the claims in October 2023. T.I. and Tiny’s legal team further wrote: “[Peterson] and her attorneys took advantage of the legal system by filing a ‘kitchen sink’ complaint, hoping that the nature of their allegations would attract enough media attention, which would then, in turn, put pressure on [T.I. and Tiny] to settle. [Peterson] and her lawyers never had any intention of diligently prosecuting this case.”

TI & Tiny Want Their Money

Their case regarding Peterson isn’t the only legal victory they’ve taken in court this year. They recently won $71 million in their lawsuit against toy giant MGA Entertainment as well. Be on the lookout for further updates on TI and Tiny on HotNewHipHop.

Nicki Minaj & Kenneth Petty’s Alleged Assault Settlement Reportedly Increases By $20K In Interest

In March of this year, it was reported that Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty had a default judgment entered against them in LA County Superior Court. This stemmed from a lawsuit that former security guard Thomas Weidenmuller filed against them in 2022. Weidenmuller alleged that Petty punched him in the face backstage at a concert over a security breach, breaking his jaw. Allegedly, Weidenmuller has since had multiple surgeries to fix his jaw. He reportedly sued for his medical expenses.

Weidenmuller was awarded a default judgment because Nicki and Petty allegedly ignored the lawsuit. According to In Touch, however, they’ve still allegedly yet to pay up. The outlet exclusively reports that the couple has racked up over $20K in interest. This means they reportedly owe Weidenmuller a whopping $526K.

Nicki Minaj & Her Husband Kenneth Petty Reportedly Owe Thomas Weidenmuller $526K

“I now have five plates in my jaw and my jaw has not yet been fully reconstructed. The doctors must still insert implants into my jaw as a part of the reconstruction process. In the interim, the doctors have inserted donor bones from a deceased person into my mouth in order to preserve space for future implants,” Weidenmuller explained in a declaration. This isn’t the only legal battle Nicki has been involved in lately, however.

Back in July, the “FTCU” rapper was also brought into her mother Carol Maraj’s lawsuit against Charles Polevich. Polevich is accused of fatally striking Minaj’s father in a 2021 hit-and-run. He was sentenced to a year in jail in 2022 for allegedly fleeing the scene of the fatal accident. What do you think of Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty reportedly owing an alleged assault victim a whopping $526K? What about them reportedly racking up interest? Russell Simmons Facing $3 Million Debt For Alleged Failed Settlement Payments To Three Women

Russell Simmons faces yet another legal obstacle after allegedly failing to fulfill previously agreed settlement payments to three women totaling $3 million, putting him in debt for this amount. The three individuals in question are Sil Lai Abrams, Wendy Carolina Franco, and Sherri Abernathy. Moreover, they reportedly agreed on confidential settlements with him in November 2023 for “alleged personal, physical injuries and sickness.” According to Variety, the payments were due by earlier this week on Tuesday (October 1). Simmons offered confessions of judgement and allowed the three women to pursue expedited judgements and start a collection process in the case of his default, which is now reportedly a reality.

However, Russell Simmons did not admit wrongdoing, and it’s unclear why these individuals agreed on these settlements due to the confidential nature of what court documents are available. Nevertheless, he agreed to pay Franco $515,000, whereas he reportedly promised to pay Abrams and Abernathy $1,265,000 each. Abrams previously alleged that Simmons sexually assaulted her in 1994, one of various allegations of sexual misconduct against the music executive. As previously stated, though, the nature of all the three settlements here is unclear.

Elsewhere, Russell Simmons appeared in the headlines recently for a social media interaction relating to the current Diddy scandal. He liked a post from Instagram page The Neighborhood Talk that shared a clip from an interview with Ariel Mitchell-Kidd, an attorney representing one of the Bad Boy mogul’s allege victims. Mitchell-Kidd alleged that someone contacted her about the sale of one of the alleged “freak-off” tapes. In addition, she brought forth the allegation that this footage features another high-profile celebrity. While many online users speculated about this “like,” it’s all just rumor and interpretation, not a concrete connection.

Meanwhile, Russell Simmons continues to engage in a legal battle with his ex, Kimora Lee Simmons. This is based on allegations that she stole money from him to bail her ex husband out of prison, to make a long story short. As for allegedly failing to pay these three women’s agreed court settlements, the available reports on the matter don’t indicate a next step.

DaBaby Reaches Settlement In Sucker Punch Lawsuit

DaBaby can finally put his 2020 scuffle to rest, as he officially settled a lawsuit against him according to court documents reportedly obtained by TMZ on Friday (September 27). For those unaware, homeowner Gary Pagar sued him due to a 2020 incident at a music video shoot at Pagar’s house for the Stunna 4 Vegas track “Play You Lay.” What happened was that the rapper allegedly “sucker-punched” Pagar after he complained about music video shoot regulations, eventually bringing about this civil case. Both parties reached a global settlement on all claims and asked the courts to remove future conference dates in order to sign the settlement into existence.

What’s more is that DaBaby has a pretty good excuse to celebrate this settlement, as he just dropped his first project in two years. HOW TF IS THIS A MIXTAPE? is a pretty ambitious question for a record of this nature, and as you’d expect, it’s filled with his typical style and some more fiery verses. We wonder whether the Charlotte MC has more plans for 2024 as far as career moves or extracurriculars. After all, he’s in a place where he can pretty much do as he pleases.

Elsewhere, DaBaby is making headlines for his brash, prompt, and savage reactions to the whole Diddy scandal. Specifically, he pulled a master troll move for one of his upcoming music videos, which is ironic considering the lawsuit that he just settled. Nevertheless, Baby bought a whole bunch of baby oil for the visual, referencing the alleged hundreds of bottles of the substance that federal officials found while raiding Sean Combs’ Miami and Los Angeles properties. He still hasn’t lost that provocative and jester-like tone, has he?

Meanwhile, DaBaby continues to be confrontational in his music, not just in his social media antics or extracurricular antics. He seemingly launched a diss track against his ex DaniLeigh’s brother over the relative’s lawsuit against him. Maybe 2025 will hold less of these courtroom developments in the 32-year-old’s life and career. But one thing’s for sure: he will respond scathingly whether it’s a trial motion or an Internet jab.

Ice Spice Settles “In Ha Mood” Lawsuit After Brooklyn Rapper Claims His Song Is “Strikingly Similar”

Ice Spice has reached a settlement agreement to end a copyright lawsuit regarding her hit song, “In Ha Mood.” Another rapper by the name of D.Chamberz had claimed that the track was “strikingly similar” to his own 2021 song, “In That Mood.” In federal court on Friday, attorneys for both sides confirmed their decision to settle, as caught by Billboard.

In the lawsuit, Chamberz had argued that his song earned “significant airplay” on radio stations in Spice’s hometown of New York City, including Hot 97 and Power 105.1. “By every method of analysis, ‘In Ha Mood’ is a forgery,” his attorneys wrote when filing the lawsuit back in January. “Any proper comparative analysis of the beat, lyrics, hook, rhythmic structure, metrical placement, and narrative context will demonstrate that ‘In Ha Mood’ was copied.”

He further argued that the similarities “cannot be purely coincidental” and boil down to “the core of each work.” In addition to Spice, the lawsuit named her frequent collaborator, producer RiotUSA (Ephrem Lopez, Jr.), as well as Universal Music Group, Capitol Records, and 10K Projects. All of the parties denied the allegations. Ice Spice first released “In Ha Mood” as a single ahead of her debut EP Like..? in 2023. It reached No. 58 on the Billboard Hot 100

Spice is currently gearing up to continue performing on her Y2K! World Tour overseas next month. She’s got shows lined up in Dublin, London, Paris, Berlin, and more cities through January. She recently made headlines for popping out at Sexyy Red’s show in New York City, last week. At that show, she performed her hit song, “Deli.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Ice Spice on HotNewHipHop.

Kanye West Settles Battery Lawsuit Over Alleged Autograph Incident

Kanye West seemingly has one less legal issue to handle, as he settled his battery lawsuit according to In Touch Weekly. Moreover, for those unaware, he faced this claim in February in Los Angeles Superior Court from an autograph collector who claimed that Ye struck him and threatened him when he approached him for a signature in January of 2022. This took place near a warehouse in downtown Los Angeles, and the autograph enthusiast in question (Justin Poplawski) reportedly told the court that the settlement covers the whole debacle. Apparently, both parties came to a final understanding around September 11.

Elsewhere, Kanye West is probably trying his best to balance his new music sessions, his travels with his wife Bianca Censori, and his other business endeavors while also dealing with the fallout of his alleged actions and his confirmed behavior. He continues to be a focal point of controversy for various reasons, whether it’s sexual harassment allegations or disappointed fans following VULTURES 2. A third installment is allegedly on the way, but we all know how hectic and unfulfilled these album rollouts can be.

In fact, it appears like Kanye West fans have instead taken matters into their own hands when it comes to new music. A fan seemingly hacked his Spotify page and uploaded the Ty Dolla $ign VULTURES leftover “GUN TO MY HEAD” featuring Kid Cudi, which was previously only available digitally. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t visible for every single user and it seems like this was by no means an intentional or official release. Given just how bizarre and glitchy the VULTURES releases turned out, we’re not surprised that Ye continues to deal with some weird uploads.

Meanwhile, Kanye West and Bianca Censori have never flinched amid his many controversies, going out in lewd and striking fashion all around the world. Ye keeps this attitude up across pretty much everything he does, for better or worse. Nevertheless, we’ll see what becomes of his other lawsuits on the table, as he has a lot of accusations and legal discrepancies to handle. Although, considering the Chicago artist’s previous billionaire status, maybe many settlements don’t sound so bad.

Nicki Minaj And Kenneth Petty Accused Of Dodging $500K Settlement Payment

Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty never seem to make headlines for the right reasons. Minaj continues to be one of the most successful rappers in the world. Whenever Minaj’s husband gets involved, though, the results are complicated at best. The trend continued on September 17. Minaj and Petty were put on blast by a security guard who claimed they assaulted him. The guard won a settlement against the couple, but is now claiming that Nicki Minaj and Petty have yet to pay up.

The incident dates back to 2022. Thomas Weidenmuller, the security guard in question, filed a complaint against Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty in January. He claimed that he got into an argument with Minaj due to the way she was treating a female staff member. Weidenmuller then alleges that the rapper threw one of her shoes at him. The security guard says things only got worse from there. Kenneth Petty allegedly attacked Weidenmuller at the urging of his wife. The security guard initially sought $700K in damages. He agreed, however, to $500K as a default judgement when the celebrity couple failed to respond to the suit.

Weidenmuller may have gotten a court ruling in his favor, but Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty have not cooperated. The Jasmine Brand reports that the couple are allegedly dodging the $500K settlement they have been ordered to pay. Weidenmuller has waited for Minaj and Petty to make good, but he has decided to file a memo highlighting their alleged dodging. The security guard filed both a memo of costs and a writ of execution against the couple in September. These filings have increased the amount that Minaj and Petty will ultimately have to pay. Prior to the filings, they owed $503,318. After, they owe an increased total of $526,110.74.

Ironically, Nicki Minaj recently made headlines for allegedly being owed money. The rapper took to the comment section of a DJ Akademiks TikTok to put JAY-Z on blast for his Tidal dealings. Minaj was one of the superstars who signed on to be a partial owner of Tidal in 2015. She claimed that she was never paid a cent, though. “I didn’t even get one red penny,” Nicki Minaj announced. “No one promoted it more than me outside of Beyonce. Lol chi.”

Jeannie Mai Accuses Jeezy Of Failing To Pay Nearly $100K In Divorce Settlement

The process of Jeezy and Jeannie Mai’s divorce has been anything but smooth so far, and now, it looks like the former pair has hit yet another bump in the road. According to new legal documents obtained by TMZ, Mai is accusing the rapper of not complying with their divorce settlement. Reportedly, the settlement calls for him to pay for their 2-year-old daughter Monaco’s daycare and school costs and put at least $500K in an interest-bearing account for her.

He’s also supposed to transfer the title for two vehicles and pay for four months of Mai’s rent, per the outlet. Mai alleges that he’s yet to follow through with his end of the deal, and now owes her almost $100K in rent and costs related to their daughter. Mai claims she tried to go through her lawyers to get Jeezy to follow through with the terms of their settlement, but that he ghosted them in July.

Reportedly, Mai wants Jeezy held in contempt and is seeking the amount he owes her plus interest. He’s yet to respond. The exes first finalized their divorce back in June of this year, though at the time, details of their settlement were unknown. This latest development comes after Mai accused Jeezy of physically assaulting her and putting their child at risk. He’s since denied this, calling her allegations “not only false, but also deeply disturbing.” Jeezy has also accused her of “weaponizing” his love for their daughter amid the divorce process.

Nicki Minaj Reaches Settlement With YouTuber Who Accused Her Of Cocaine Use

Back in 2022, Nicki Minaj filed a lawsuit against YouTuber Marley Green, otherwise known as Nosey Heaux. The suit in question was over a video of Green making various false claims about the “FTCU” performer, including that she uses cocaine. She labeled Nicki a “cokehead” and alleged that she was “shoving all this cocaine up her nose.”

Now, the rapper has come out victorious, as they’ve finally reached a settlement. As part of the settlement, Green has agreed not to publicly discuss Nicki, her husband Kenneth Petty, or her son Papa Bear in the future. She also had to acknowledge that “everything she said about Nicki Minaj using or abusing cocaine was false.”

She also must admit publicly that “she never had any evidence of Nicki Minaj using or abusing cocaine or any other drug.” If Green ends up breaching the agreement, she must pay Nicki $50K for each offense, according to TMZ. While Green is no longer allowed to accuse Nicki of using drugs, she’s far from the first person to do so. Earlier this year, countless social media users accused her of going on a “coke rant” about Megan Thee Stallion following the release of her track, “Hiss.”

At the time, Nicki denied the allegations, insisting she’s never used the substance. “Whenever you see the words ‘coke rant’ you know they mad,” she wrote on X. “If y’all hear how loud I’m laughing. [laughing emojis]. I’ve never done coke in my life. But if I did, I’d do it proudly.” What do you think of Nicki Minaj finally settling her lawsuit against Nosey Heaux?
