Kodak Black Has Fans Concerned After “Sad“ Rolling Loud Miami Performance

Recently, Kodak Black graced the stage at Rolling Loud Miami, performing several of his hits alongside a group of talented dancers. Unfortunately, however, his performance hasn’t exactly been well-received by social media users. As clips from the show make their rounds online, the Florida rapper can be seen wandering around onstage, smoking, and more. Reportedly, he showed up late and appeared more focused on random objects onstage than actually performing.

This has earned big reactions from fans in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section. Many are insisting that he needs help, and urging his team and others around him to make sure he gets it. “He needs help! His team is failing him!” one commenter writes. “No mic? Not one lyric? This is truly sad to watch. Why his team let him even go on stage like that. He needs ppl around who care about him. This is embarrassing,” someone else claims.

It’s speculated that all of this could be a result of alleged substance abuse. This is unconfirmed, but Kodak has been open in the past about his struggle to stay sober. Earlier this year, for example, he told his supporters that he had mostly stopped using. In November, he revealed that he was experiencing a setback when a fan said they were glad to see him on a better path. “B***h, I ain’t sober,” he said at the time. “I look sober? Never sober, b***h. For what? Look at all this money. Look at all this cash. Sober for what? I’m too young to die sober.”

That same month, social media users thought they saw him allegedly pop a Percocet during a livestream with Kai Cenat. He later dismissed fans’ concerns, making it clear he wasn’t interested in the feedback. “I’m just Yak, bro. Aint s*** changed, that’s how I came in this b****,” he said in part.

Lil Yachty’s New Haircut Draws Mase Comparisons At Rolling Loud

Lil Yachty changing up his signature hairstyle received many comparisons to the 90s Mase at this weekend’s Rolling Loud festival. Along with the waves, Lil Boat performed in a similar color-coordinated outfit that the early 2000s Mase wore in his music videos. Addressing the crowd with a smile, he asked, “Y’all like my new haircut or what?” Jokes comparing the two artists flooded social media on Friday (Dec. 13). “Him and Mase, father and son in another life,” one commenter quipped.

Another joked, “We gotta ask Mase and Lil Yachty’s momma where they were both at nine months prior to Yachty’s birth.” Others chimed in with, “Hell no, he really Mase in ’97,” fueling the viral moment with memes and tagging Mase for his reaction. The inspiration behind Yachty’s new look remains unknown. But the change follows the rap star receiving backlash for his musical opinions and feuding with former friend and co-host Mitch and former Concrete Boys artist Karrahbooo.

Lil Yachty’s New Fade Reminds Fans Of 90s Mase

Mase still has the signature fade as he transitioned from rap star to sports broadcaster in 2024 with his new show It Is What It Is with Cam’ron, a former rival, as his co-host. In the late 90s, Mase, known for wearing bright outfits, was one of the biggest hip-hop stars, collaborating with Mariah Carey, Notorious B.I.G., DMX, Jay-Z, and Ye. Mase and Cam’ron share new freestyles occasionally on their show.

Lil Yachty performed a Concrete Boys set at Rolling Loud. While social media roasted, Yachty appeared unbothered, embracing the fun and effortlessly maintaining his role as a cultural trendsetter. Whether rocking bold hairstyles or classic cuts, the rapper’s ability to spark conversations remains as sharp as ever. 2024 was a productive year for Lil Yachty. The joint album with James Blake was a highlight for the Atlanta native.

Lil Yachty Debuted His New Haircut At Rolling Loud Miami, And Fans Have Drawn Hilarious Comparisons To Another Rapper

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, Uproxx revisited the evolution of fashion within the culture. While the lookbook (viewable here) dives into the pioneers in each trend, it doesn’t explore hip-hop’s noteworthy hairdos. For a longtime, Lil Yachty’s signature included fire red tresses in braids, dreadlocks, and more.

However, yesterday (December 13), the “We Ball Forever” rapper ditched his usual. During Lil Yachty’s Rolling Loud Miami 2024 set, he debuted a rather classic haircut (viewable here) referred to a low cut Caesar. “Y’all like my new hair cut or what,” he asked the crowd.

While the crowd seemed to appreciate Lil Yachty’s enthusiasm, users online couldn’t resist turning it into a harmless joke comparing him to veteran rapper Mase.

“Him and Mase, father and son in another life 😭,” wrote one user.

“We gotta ask Mase and Lil Yachty’s momma where they were both at 9 months prior to the day Lil Yachty was born,” joked another.

“Hell no he really Mase in 97 😭,” chimedanother.

Others have spammed the clip online with memes of Mase and tagging him for his official reaction. It is unclear what inspired Lil Yachty’s switch up. Maybe he was moved by the latest TikTok beauty trend (fueled by a Destiny’s Child lyric). Or he could simply have wanted something fresh. Wither way users online have hilariously taken the innocent moment into a viral roast session.

Owen Wilson & Matt Rife To Star In Comedy Film About Rolling Loud Festival

Hip-hop festival Rolling Loud is apparently making its way to the big screen, as Deadline reports that Owen Wilson and Matt Rife will star in a film (simply titled Rolling Loud) about a father and son attending the shindig in Miami. RL is actually celebrating its tenth year in 2024, led by a Playboi Carti performance that fans are pretty skeptical about. Apparently, production for the flick will begin this weekend for the extravaganza’s Florida iteration, and American High’s Jeremy Garelick wrote and directed this film. The movie is reportedly based on a true story of a stern and strict father (Wilson) sneaking his 13-year-old son into the world’s largest rap festival alongside a volatile colleague (Rife) and a festival worker.

Furthermore, this Rolling Loud film boasts production from none other than Live Nation Productions (a division of Live Nation Entertainment) and will take advantage of the festival’s tenth anniversary to set the stage. Garelick and Will Phelps will produce for American High, and Stella Bulochnikov will produce for Pat Solitano Productions and Jolene. Apart from the cast (so far) of Owen Wilson and Matt Rife, other crew members include executive producers Ryan Kroft (Live Nation), Pasquale Rotella, Matt Zingler, and Tariq Cherif (Rolling Loud, Rife, Christina Shams).

Owen Wilson & Matt Rife Will Attend Rolling Loud Very Soon

As for Rolling Loud‘s distribution, UTA Independent Film Group will handle worldwide rights and plans for a 2025 release. We’ll see what Owen Wilson and company cook up with this movie, which should make for a pretty fun romp or at least a curious film. After all, festival attendees are probably curious to see if they see their experiences reflected on the silver screen. Performers move many commitments around to make an RL slot, so the crew has big shoes to fill and a huge journey to capture.

Meanwhile, Rolling Loud often boasts a pretty rowdy clientele, so production on location should yield some very interesting and notable perspectives. Maybe this film will turn out to be another Hollywood flop or Owen Wilson and company actually pull something special together. In either case, we’re very interested to see how this shapes up.

Rolling Loud to Debut First-Ever Christian Hip-Hop Set with Darkchild, DJ Five Venoms, and Trendsetter Sense

unnamed (7)

Rolling Loud’s 10th Anniversary festival in Miami will feature a groundbreaking moment in hip-hop history. On Sunday, December 15, DJ Five Venoms and Trendsetter Sense will co-host Chosen Journey, the first-ever Christian hip-hop set, alongside Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins’ Alienz Alive artists Jon Keith, GAWVI, and Alex Jean.

The event, taking place at Florida’s Hard Rock Stadium, will also showcase performances from rappers Caleb Gordon, Hulvey, and nobigdyl., ensuring a powerful and faith-filled celebration of music.

“This project has been guided by God’s hand, and it is through being vessels of His kingdom that this collaboration has come to fruition,” said Darkchild in a press statement, emphasizing the significance of the historic opportunity.

The Chosen Journey set, aiming to usher in a new era of faith and hip-hop, originated from a collaboration between Radio One Atlanta HOT 107.9’s Trendsetter Sense, DJ Five Venoms, and Darkchild. The idea was sparked in June when Sense noticed Darkchild had launched his faith-based indie label, Alienz Alive. Recognizing the potential for collaboration, Sense reached out through Bryan Michael-Cox, a mutual connection, which led to a pivotal meeting with Darkchild.

Shortly after, DJ Five Venoms’ manager, Troy Gunn, proposed the idea of a Christian hip-hop set under Sense’s Chosen Journey brand. Sense approached Alienz Alive’s Jen Boogie, who quickly brought the idea to Darkchild. Inspired by the vision, Darkchild partnered with Sense, DJ Five Venoms, and Gunn to curate this live experience.

After careful planning and approval by the Rolling Loud team, the Chosen Journey set was confirmed, marking a transformative moment for the intersection of faith and hip-hop.

Playboi Carti Promises To Debut His ‘Music’ Album During His Rolling Loud Miami Set

Playboi Carti’s next album is either called Music or I Am Music — he can’t seem to decide which it actually is. Either way, though, fans attending his set at Rolling Loud in Miami on December 15 will be getting the first full listen to the album. On Rolling Loud’s Instagram, a new flyer promises “I AM MUSIC WILL B PLAYED,” although there’s not much information past that. He certainly appeared to be working toward a set built around the album at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival earlier this month, so it seems he certainly has a foundation for it.

Although Carti has been teasing the album for at least two years, but only recently began sharing official singles. In September, he dropped “All Red,” while in January, he unofficially released “Backr00ms” featuring Travis Scott — an unofficial follow-up to his and Travis’ previous collab “Fein,” which has become a fan favorite since its release last year.

Even though he didn’t share a bunch of his own new music, Carti seemed to become pop music’s go-to feature for Gen Z cool factor, teaming up with The Weeknd and Madonna on “Popular” and Camila Cabello on “I Luv It,” before reuniting with The Weeknd on his new single “Timeless.”

Playboi Carti Claims He’ll Perform “I Am Music” At Rolling Loud, But Can He Be Trusted?

Playboi Carti might be the most frustrating and recluse hip-hop/rap adjacent artist going today. There are others such as A$AP Rocky and Frank Ocean. But despite this fact, he remains to be one of the most listened to MCs year in and year out. In that same breath though, he can only keep walking that fine line before fans tap out. They will still revisit his catalog, no doubt. He possesses some of the biggest hits, especially over the five years. But given the social environment we are inhabiting right now, people want you to update your resume consistently and he just hasn’t done that.

With that said, Playboi Carti has a great chance to at least suppress the noise with I Am Music. It’s hard to gauge even just a rough estimate of when it will drop, but this update could be very telling. Just several hours ago, the Georgia native himself announced on his IG burner account, opium_00pium, that he will be performing the elusive project at Rolling Loud Miami, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The music festival begins December 13 and will run through the 15th. Future is the main attraction on day one, followed by Travis Scott, and then Carti.

A post shared by Rolling Loud (@rollingloud)

“MIAMI TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY… I AM MUSIC WILL B PLAYED… KANT WAIT TO SEE YAL MFS NAH FR,” he writes with visible excitement. Earlier we said it could tone done the angry mob, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. His comments section is filled with doubt, with one writing, “I AM MUSIC WILL BE PLAYED” jordan we know you dawg.”

Another goes, “He ain’t dropping or showing up to anything I fear.” Some are even open to the idea of the album being leaked early. “Can someone leak his album already? We’re tired of the games.” With patience running thin, the pressure is on Carti. There’s a really good chance that he plays just a few snippets and if he does, we aren’t sure that is going to be enough. Fans want the album, and the question now is, “How will he respond?”

Wiz Khalifa Stops Performance To Reprimand An Overzealous Fan For Throwing Money At Him: ‘I’m Not A Stripper’

Wiz Khalifa is known for being rather cool guy. In fact, the “See You Again” rapper’s only issues (at least on the legal front) are connected to his love of marijuana.

According to Wiz, he get his chill demeanor from his mother. Over the weekend, one fan managed to from Wiz from his cloud of zen. While performing at a Rolling Loud Thailand after party held at Club 808 in Pattaya, an attendee ticked Wiz off by throwing money on stage. Although he is a fan of exotic clubs, he didn’t appreciate the gesture and was sure to verbalize it.

In a video captured by an attendee (viewable here), Wiz Khalifa reprimanded the assailant. “Stop throwing money on the stage,” he said. “I’m not a stripper, dog. Quit throwing money on the stage.”

The attendee can be heard apologizing for his actions. But it seems he had already been warned based on Wiz’s follow-up statement. “I’ve already told you once,” he said. “I’m not a dancer. If you don’t know I’m Wiz Khalifa.”

Others chimed in to cheer Wiz Khalifa on for taking a stand against the distributor. It appears the performance continued without any further interference. Wiz Khalifa has not publicly addressed the matter.
