Keyshia Cole Claps Back At Nicki Fan Over Cardi Endorsement

Stans online don’t play about their favorite artists. Anyone who has ever talked about a popular artist online likely knows the kind of force their fans can rain down. Keyshia Cole found this out on Twitter recently when she got caught in the Nicki Minaj versus Cardi B crossfire. During her Cardi Party Livestream, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper played a number of songs by female artists that she enjoyed. One of which was “Down And Dirty” by Keyshia Cole, who heard about it afterward.

When a fan pointed out to her that one of her songs was included she had nothing but love to show. “Always loved/love my Cardi,” Keyshia Cole tweeted. Unfortunately, that co-sign didn’t sit right with some of Nicki Minaj’s fans. One barb in particular, @BowMinaj responded to Cole saying “A legend like you should have higher standards but I guess.” That didn’t seem to go over well as Cole quickly clapped back. “Keep me out y’all fan rivalry. Cardi said loves my music. She can say that. I love Bardi, I can say that. And I still remain. Legend,” she said in a response tweet.

Keisha Cole Claps Back

Her response resonated with a number of fans. Replies shouted her out for being above the beef and for her willingness to show Cardi love. Another tweet said that Cardi and Keyshia should collaborate on a song together. Overall Keyshia Cole’s refusal to participate in the supposed beef between the two resulted in quite a bit of love from fans. Just last week Cole dropped the trailer for her upcoming biopic. The film is set to air for the first time on Lifetime later this month.

Cardi B is fresh off a collaboration with a different major female rapper. She joined Latto for a remix of her track “Put It On Da Floor” which is appropriately titled “Put It On Da Floor Again.” The track gained a massive boost in streaming following Cardi’s remix. Nicki on the other hand just dropped “Pound Town 2” with Sexyy Red and Tay Keith. The song debuted on the Hot 100 following her remix. She’s also continually teased her new song with Ice Spice for the upcoming Barbie movie. The track is expected to be released later this week.

Jay-Z Won’t Let Ne-Yo Live Down Giving “Let Me Love You” Away To Mario

Ne-Yo has given us no shortage of hits throughout his career, from “Miss Independent” and “So Sick” to “She Knows” and “Time of Our Lives.” Even with all that he’s achieved, the R&B singer says that Jay-Z still won’t let him live down his decision to give 2004’s “Let Me Love You” to Mario. Ne-Yo reflected on the hit song during his appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, revealing that Hov gives him hell to this day about not keeping the single for himself.

As the 43-year-old tells it, he was primarily working as a songwriter prior to signing with Def Jam Records in 2005. Because he wasn’t focused on a career as a vocalist at the time, he happily passed “Let Me Love You” off to another artist. “So this song goes on and stays at number one for 12 or 13 weeks, something like that, becomes one of the most played songs in radio history,” Ne-Yo said of Mario’s work. “The first time I got to meet Jay-Z, I’d been signed for a couple of months at this point. I walk into the room and he’s in there,” his story continued.

Ne-Yo Reflects on “Let Me Love You”

“It’s in L.A. Reid’s office. I walk in, ‘Hey it’s nice to meet you.’ He’s like, ‘Man, why you give that damn song away?’ Nice to meet you too bruh, cool. I’m Ne-Yo,” the Arkansas native joked. “To this day, he yell at me about giving that damn song away. But I was just a songwriter when I wrote it, I didn’t write it for myself.” After listening to his guest’s story, Sharpe asked Ne-Yo if he believes he could’ve outdone Mario’s version of the song.

The father of five gave his contemporary his flowers, saying, “I’ll be the first to tell you that Mario got chops that I don’t.” However, because he knows he’s got chops of his own, he “feels like it would’ve worked out either way.” Do you think Ne-Yo could’ve found more success by keeping “Let Me Love You” for himself? Keke Palmer Drops First Full Album In A Decade, “Big Boss”

Keke Palmer has proven herself time and time again to be a multi-talented individual. She excels in singing, acting, and dancing. Keke rose to fame as the lead of the Nickelodeon show, True Jackson, VP, and has since garnered an Emmy Award for her acting skills. Her career has seen her take on significant roles in movies and TV shows, like her critically-lauded turn in Jordan Peele’s Nope. As time has gone on, Keke has managed to carve out a special place for herself in the industry. Even with her reputation as a living meme, she is taken very seriously as an actress and an artist. That kind of balance is not something just anyone can strike.

Keke Palmer’s fans have eagerly anticipated her project, Big Boss, for quite some time. The new effort is based on her personal experiences, drawing from her career as an actress and a singer. The album is accompanied by a 40-minute film. It features scenes inspired by Keke’s personal life. It is both entertaining and emotional – a perfect companion to the album, which can be described using the same adjectives.

Keke Details Her Journey To Self-Realization

Keke Palmer’s Big Boss opens strong with the track “Views.” On it, she sings about wondering if someone sees her in the same way she sees him. “I’m just tryna view,” she croons. “If you see me in the same light as you.” The album has very few low points, if any. The songs are as catchy as they come, too. “Love Language” is exactly the kind of R&B-Pop crossover that the summer needs. The album is impressive. Furthermore, Keke’s writing, direction, and performance in the Big Boss film only cement her status as an iconic, multi-faceted artist.

In the film, Keke takes on the male-dominated music industry and points out problems that are still very real for women in 2023. A music producer character in the film says, “They always want some sh*t, but they don’t wanna give some sh*t.” Of course, he is suggesting that women must sleep with him for the “honor” of having him produce their song. Around the halfway point, Keke reflects on interactions like this. “Silly me,” she narrates. “For thinking they would ever f*ck with me just off of the strength of my talent.” It’s a sobering scene that shows just how much the singer has had to deal with. Thankfully, she has come out on the other side stronger for it and producing great art like Big Boss and its accompanying film. What do you think of Keke Palmer’s new album? Be sure to let us know in the comments.

Brent Faiyaz & Marshmello Come Together For New Song “Fell In Love”

Brent Faiyaz has been a very busy man these last few days. From a highly acclaimed album last year with Wasteland paired with a world tour (tickets on sale today) he’s been putting in work. Not only that, Faiyaz has an amazing catalog prior to his new album dropping (mans don’t miss). Since the release of Wasteland, Brent Faiyaz has kept a low profile yet he’s still making waves. Recently, he announced a tour and just days later news surfaced that the R&B star has partnered with Steve Stout’s UnitedMasters.

The partnership will allow Faiyaz to do all of his independent work creating a new creative agency. Additionally, the creative agency will work as a hub for the F*ck The World artist. Not only that, the deal is valued at $50 million. Even Steve Stout said, “Brent Faiyaz is one of the most prolific Independent artists today and we are extremely excited to embark on this new partnership with him.” Although we don’t have an official statement from Brent, it’s clear that the two have come to a healthy agreement regarding the deal.

Brent Faiyaz & Marshmello Drop Some New Heat

Following all the moves he’s recently made, Brent Faiyaz has also put out some new music. Anonymous DJ/producer Marshmello tapped the emerging king of toxic R&B for a new single, “Fell In Love.” Additionally, on the track, Faiyaz croons about a lover that loves the idea of him rather than his true self. It’s a very bouncy track that will have you reminiscing about late ’90s early ’00s R&B. Not only that, this is the first taste of new music from Brent Faiyaz since dropping his sophomore project.

Furthermore, the single is short and sweet, rounding off at two minutes. However, the song is so infectious that you’ll be playing it over and over. It’s got great replay value. Won’t be long ’til we see the summer jam on multiple Tik Toks and reels. Interestingly, this track is released just days before Brent inks his creative agency partnership with UnitedMasters and announces new tour. It’s possible this could’ve been something cooked up from the creative hub. Are you ready for some new music from Brent Faiyaz? Are you feelin’ the new track from him and Marshmello? Let us know in the comments!
