Ice Spice And Nicki Minaj Claim Their Spots As Rap Royalty On The ‘Princess Diana’ Remix

Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj have dropped their hotly-anticipated first collab (hopefully of many more), with the remix to Ice’s “Princess Diana” single. An ode to the late British royal, the two ladies put their own spin in her honor, while also declaring themselves the rulers of the rap game.

“New York, stand the f*ck up,” Nicki introduces, over a heavy-hitting instrumental.

“Nowadays I be duckin’ them cameras / And they hype that I’m up on them banners / Callin’ my phone, but they know I don’t answer (Why?) / In the hood I’m like Princess Diana,” Ice Spice maintains from her original verse.

Minaj’s verse maintains the heat, calling Ice Spice a “bad little redhead.” (There are way more lyrics that we could’ve fit here.)

“Gag. The People’s PRINCESS,” Minaj had captioned the post, complete with a photo of Ice Spice’s Dazed cover and a crown emoji. Given Minaj dubs herself the queen, it seems she’s handing out other royal titles to the ladies that deserve it. And Ice Spice has certainly made a splash on the scene.

Fans had also started suspecting that a collab could be in the works after Minaj followed her on Instagram. Then, she commented lyrics from Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana” — sparking more speculation last month. “B*tches slow so I gih dem a pass. Nah. Grah! No more passes Princess… Let’s go,” Minaj added.

Nicki Hops On Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana” Remix: Listen

Nicki Minaj has lent her slick bars to a new version of Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana.” The rappers have been showing each other a lot of love recently, with Nicki even liking tweets about potentially signing Ice Spice to her label. That’s still just a rumor at this point, but one thing is sure: the two of them on a track together goes hard. Ice Spice is still fairly new to music, but with a Nicki feature now under her belt, she’s cementing her spot in the scene.

The “Princess Diana” remix is not very different than the original song. Besides Nicki’s verse, not much has changed. Still, the beat was already fire, so there weren’t many changes necessary. The addition of Nicki’s verse breaks up the track in a necessary way, though. Before, it did get a little monotonous. Now, it has just enough differentiation between the two parts to keep it interesting all the way through. The self-proclaimed queen of rap was exactly what the track needed to be a summer banger.

Nicki and Ice Spice Are The Perfect Pair

The track opens with Nicki telling New York to “stand the f*ck up.” Both rappers are local to the city. Nicki hails from Jamaica, Queens, and Ice Spice comes from the Bronx. The two definitely did New York proud on this track. For the first half of her verse, Nicki’s flow is as aggressive as it gets. “I be eatin’ my spinach / They tried to clone my image,” Nicki raps. “They burned they London Bridges / None of them bi*ches British / I know they know the difference.”

When the second half of Nicki’s verse comes in, she begins to emulate Ice Spice’s flow. “Nowadays I be makin’ them famous / She the princess so f*ck who you lames is,” she raps, complimenting Ice Spice. She also had some choice words for people who say that she has beef with too many people: “Of course I be pushin’ they buttons / I hold the control like the gamers.” Surprisingly, Ice Spice doesn’t come back in at all after Nicki’s verse starts. I guess she knew it was under control. What do you think of the Nicki feature? Sound off in the comments!

Quotable Lyrics:

I be eatin’ my spinach
They tried to clone image
They burned they London Bridges
None of them b*tches British
I know they know the difference

Nicki Minaj Remixes Ice Spice “Princess Diana” Lyrics On Twitter

With every new online interaction, it seems clearer and clearer that Nicki Minaj is hopping on a remix of Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana.” Moreover, the Queen just tweeted a remixed version of Spice’s lyrics from the song, which fans are blown away by already. “Like GRAH, keep it a stack,” she began, referencing the track’s main hook melody and phrase. “B!tches is a** if we keepin it crakk,” she concluded, and it probably took a while for many to realize that those aren’t the lyrics in the original. As such, many hoped for an official guest verse to come sooner rather than later.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time that Nicki impressed fans with her bars, whether it’s minutes or years after she releases them. The same happened in the case of her recent single “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which fans received quite well amid a lot of hype. Still, many of her recent actions and public moves also tied to beef and disputes with other rappers. Despite that, the New York MC is still garnering most acclaim and respect on fans online for her artistry.

Nicki Minaj Might Remix Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana” Soon

Meanwhile, the “Munch” hitmaker has long been a fan of Nicki Minaj, so this certainly marks a big moment for her. Furthermore, she actually pretended that she followed her before blowing up, just to practice for the big day. That day eventually came, and it was packaged with another co-sign in the form on an Instagram comment on Ice Spice’s post. “Btchs slow so I gih dem a pass. Nah. Grah! No more passes Princess…Let’s go,” she commented some time ago. What’s more is that it didn’t stop there, and the 23-year-old responded to the love.

Ya heard da QUEEN,” Spice responded to another of Nicki’s comments, which read, “Gag. The People’s PRINCESS. catch it!!!” With all this back and forth, fans wonder how their remix track will (hopefully) manifest as far as promo. Social media already has all eyes on their interactions, whereas visuals certainly bolstered each of their big singles. Ice Spice’s ‘Princess Diana’ Has Fans Crowning Her As Royalty

Last night, Ice Spice suddenly dropped her new debut EP, Like..?, and fans were buzzing. Even more iconic was the EP’s tracklist, which features a track called “Princess Diana,” named after the late Royal.

“Nowadays I be duckin’ them cameras / And they hype that I’m up on them banners / Callin’ my phone, but they know I don’t answer (Why?) / In the hood I’m like Princess Diana,” Ice Spice rhymes on the song.

Her fans were immediately obsessed with the energy, as many had compared the rising star rapper to Princess Di on social media. She clearly has seen the memes and decided to use them to her advantage. It also doubles as Spice crowning herself as royalty.

“i know Princess Diana is looking down at her kids Harry & Ice Spice rn with joy in her eyes,” one fan wrote, including Prince Harry in the mix.

“u literally have no clue about the connection between ice spice and lady di, ice spice is princess diana reincarnated, pls take down ur comment as i find it extremely offensive,” another added.

Prince Harry Recalls Cocaine & Magic Mushroom Use After Princess Diana’s Death

The Royal Family’s names continue to circulate through the headlines as of late. This is mostly thanks to Prince Harry, who has been telling his story through various mediums. First, he and his wife Meghan Markle dropped off their six-part Netflix Original docuseries. Now, his memoir’s arrival is nearly here.

Aptly titled Spare – a reference to his position behind older brother Prince Williams’s role as heir to the throne – the book makes its debut on Tuesday (January 10). Prior to that, various leaks and previews appeared in the press, sparking excitement over the juice secrets to be spilled by the father of two.

On Sunday (January 8), an interview between Prince Harry and Anderson Cooper was aired on 60 Minutes. The conversation is a precursor for many of the topics in the book. Among them is the death of the royal’s mother, Princess Diana.

As the journalist asked the 38-year-old about his tragic loss, he confirmed that he does hold the paparazzi responsible for their alleged role in the socialite’s untimely death. “It was obvious to us as kids the British press’ part in our mother’s misery. I had a lot of anger inside of me that luckily, I never expressed to anybody,” he explained.

“But I resorted to drinking heavily.  Because I wanted to numb the feeling, or I wanted to distract myself from whatever I was thinking. And I would, you know, resort to drugs as well,” Harry later added. In a voiceover, Cooper specifically notes that weed and cocaine were two of his vices of choice.

The prince also says that he struggled to cry over his mother’s death. This led him to try out experimental treatments using hallucinogenic mushrooms ad other psychedelics to connect with himself more.

“I would never recommend people to do this recreationally,” the Brit told the American. “But doing it with the right people if you are suffering from a huge amount of loss, grief or trauma, then these things have a way of working as a medicine.”

For Harry, it seems the most powerful part of the experience was getting rid of the feeling “that [he] needed to cry to prove to [his] mother that [he] missed her when, in fact, all she wanted was for [him] to be happy.”

In another interview, this one with ITV, the father of two clarified past claims about the Royal Family’s behaviour towards people of colour. Rather than labelling them as “racist” he wants to clarify that they’re guilty of “unconscious bias.”

“Once it’s been acknowledged or pointed out to you as an individual, otherwise an institution, that you have unconscious bias, you have an opportunity to learn and grow from that. Otherwise unconscious bias then moves into the category of racism,” Prince Harry says.
