One of Philadelphia’s most beloved ever Philadelphia transplants is joining two or its loudly heralded natives sons for a Voter Registration and Town Hall in the City of Brotherly Love. Allen Iverson headlines a list of names that include Beanie Sigel and Freeway converging on Philly today at the Liacouras Center.

The organization Vote Or Else has been spearheading campaigns to get people

To register and go out to the polls come Election Day. They have also organized this event where athletes and luminaries from the hip-hop community have an open dialogue with themselves and amongst the people where they will speak on the upcoming election as well as issues facing the community they want to see addressed not just by the next President, but by state and local officials.

NFL legend Michael Vick, Nipsey Hussle’s brother and the head of The Marathon Brand and Blacc Sam, broadcasting Hall of Famer Angie Martinez, Killer Mike, Havoc of Mobb Deep, Jadakiss, Icewear Vezzo, and Star of Power Book II: Ghost, Michael Rainey, are among those coming to participate.

“Many of us in the hip-hop community have always been leaders for the Black community in general and it’s only right we come together, start organizing and discuss these issues,” Beanie Sigel said. “Of course everything can’t be solved overnight, but the more we dialogue and build with each other, the closer we get to coming up with solutions.”

Beanie started a journey to get better educated himself and educate others as well when it comes to voting earlier this year. His great friend and head of the organization Mobilize Justice Marvin Bing, urged him to get more involved.

This summer Sigel aligned himself with Mobilize Justice as well as organizations The Black Church PAC and AAPI(those three entities have banded together to form Vote or Else, with anti-gun violence, anti- voter suppression, and anti-Mass incarceration as main initiatives) to get active. Him and Bing helped recruit artists and activist to not just go on the communities and talk to people about the the absolute need to vote, but last month, Sigel was joined by a assortment of Detroit MCS such as Icewear Vezzo and Baby Money as they went door to door in various Motor City communities and registered those eligible to vote.

“I’m not telling people which politician to vote for,” Sigel advised. “I’m telling people they should get informed about candidates’ policies, not just Presidential, but state and local. Then you go to the polls and make an informed decision. You can affect change sitting on the sidelines.”

Sigel and company have already been to Detroit with Philly locked in for today.

SEE IT: Podcaster Andrew Schulz Laughs in Trump’s Face After Former POTUS Calls Himself ‘Truthful Person’ on ‘Flagrant’ Podcast

Screen Shot 2024 10 09 at 5.48.14 PM

Trump truthful? Insert ALL the laughing emojis! Okay, now that we have contained ourselves, the statement went down during a wild interview on the Flagrant podcast, hosted by comedian and host, Andrew Schulz. Former President Donald Trump sparked laughter from Schulz when he actually described himself as, wait for it … “a truthful person.”

“I’m basically a truthful person,” Trump claimed to Schulz and co-host Akaash Singh, while discussing various topics including a claim made by Vice President Kamala Harris that he opposed in vitro fertilization (IVF). Trump strongly denied the accusation, saying, “I’m against IVF … They know it’s untrue. So many different things,” as he accused Democrats and the media of spreading lies about him.

This is funny. We are really enjoying this but it get’s better.

Trump continued by wildly addressing the auto industry, which Obama saved btw, asserting that his warnings about China taking over if the U.S. fully shifts to electric vehicles had been misrepresented. “The ‘bloodbath’; that was about the auto industry. China’s going to take all our auto business if we go all electric and all this stuff. The Head of the Union I said is a fool. He sold the union down,” Trump explained. He also boasted about his support among labor groups: “I’m doing great with it. You notice where the Teamsters like me. The workers like me … Even unions that have never been with a Republican before are endorsing me. I mean, it’s incredible. The Teamsters voted 61% in favor of Trump … the FBI would be in … I think almost everybody would be in favor. But they lie and say, and they know it’s a lie.”

Despite Trump’s claims, Schulz’s amused reaction showed skepticism, especially when Trump avoided directly answering Schulz’s follow-up about what he meant by being “a truthful person.” And amused is putting it lightly.

The discussion, insert more laughing emojis, moved on to lighter topics, including Trump’s reflections on assassination attempts and how he handles public life.

Speaking about a previous incident where he was shot at, Trump acknowledged that “it wasn’t a good feeling” but added, “I have an attitude — it’s interesting. It’s sort of, it is what it is. Does that make any sense to you guys? You do what you have to do.” Trump noted that his return to Butler, Pennsylvania, after the incident drew a crowd of over 108,000 people, emphasizing his belief that it was important to go back.

Yes, Trump was shot. And yes, Trump has the fastest healing ear in the history of humankind.

On a more personal note, Trump opened up about raising his children and teaching them ambition:

“I’ve seen a lot of wealthy families where the kids mostly don’t work out too well. Some don’t turn out to be bad kids, but they end up hating the father or the father maybe wanted him in business,” Trump shared. Reflecting on his own father, he said, “My father was so proud of me. He was a successful guy. But my father wanted me to be more successful. He was so proud of all the things. I wish he could have seen what happened, because we did things. He was just a proud father.”

Proud dad moment from Trump. We’re running out of laughing emojis over here.

Turning back to politics, because Trump is running for POTUS, again, he commented on his former running mate Mike Pence, who distanced himself from Trump in his second run for the presidency. “He and I had a very good relationship,” Trump remarked. However, he criticized Pence for not following his lead in contesting the 2020 election results. “He couldn’t cross the line of doing what was right, in my opinion … I think he’s a good man. I think he’s unfortunately… I wish he would have had the stamina, maybe, the courage, maybe both, to go further because we have to have honest elections in our country and if we’re afraid to challenge an election, we’re in big trouble.”

We’re not going to touch on Pence where his cult, oops we mean followers we’re chanting “Hang Mike Pence” during the Jan 6 attempt to overthrow the government but we will let you see this “interview” for yourselves … Enjoy.

VP Kamala Harris Dishes on ’60 Minutes’ Type of Gun She Owns

Screen Shot 2024 10 08 at 1.43.05 PM

ICYMI, Vice President Kamala Harris was on a recent 60 Minutes interview. The Democratic presidential nominee disclosed that she owns a Glock handgun and has had it for “quite some time.” Harris shared this detail with Bill Whitaker during their conversation, adding that she has fired the weapon at a gun range.

This may not be much of a surprise, as Harris was in law enforcement for years, her admission about being a gun owner follows a previous revelation during her debate against former President Donald Trump. At the time, she had stated, “I own a gun for probably the reason a lot of people do — for personal safety.” This marked one of the earliest moments when she publicly acknowledged her firearm ownership, which she initially mentioned while serving as a U.S. Senator in 2019. An aide clarified that Harris had purchased the handgun years prior and that it was securely locked away.

The gun toting newscame out during a campaign event with Oprah Winfrey on September 19, Harris joked about her gun, saying, “If somebody breaks into my house, they’re getting shot.” While the comment was made in a lighter context, it underscores her position on personal safety.

What’s interesting is this revelation came against the backdrop of a different legal situation involving former President Trump. Following his conviction on 34 felony counts for falsifying business records, Trump’s concealed carry permit in New York was suspended in April 2023. Although the specific details regarding Trump’s license and weapons are not publicly available, the revocation followed standard state protocols for individuals facing such convictions.

The sprawling 60 Minutes interview highlighted the blend of traditional and non-traditional approaches both Harris and Trump have taken in their outreach efforts to voters. Harris’s appearance on the long-standing news program contrasts with her more unconventional recent appearances, such as her interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, which aired on Sunday. Before that, she had appeared on the All the Smoke podcast hosted by former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.

However, these upcoming appearances are expected to reach much larger audiences. The View and The Late Show draw millions of viewers daily, Howard Stern has over 2 million subscribers on YouTube, and Alex Cooper, host of Call Her Daddy, commands a massive social media following.

Diddy’s Key To Miami Beach Expected To Be Rescinded After Arrest For Alleged Sex Trafficking

Miami Beach city officials are reportedly planning to strip Diddy of his key to the city after authorities in New York City arrested him on charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering, last month. According to TMZ, sources with direct knowledge of the situation say the move is in the final stage of negotiations. The day that it will occur, however, is unclear. Hurricane Milton is approaching Florida and could likely cause a delay in the move.

Former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine presented Diddy with the honor back in 2015 during the Revolt Music Conference at the Fontainebleau. He’s one of several celebrities who have accepted the honorary key, including Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled, and more.

It won’t be the first time that a city has rescinded an honorary key from Diddy. After CNN published footage of the Bad Boy mogul hitting Cassie at a hotel in 2016, earlier this year, New York City Mayor Eric Adams condemned him. “I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence,” Adams wrote in a statement at the time. “Our city has worked tirelessly to make sure survivors are heard and seen by our administration.” Adams had personally presented Diddy with the key back in 2023.

As for his current arrest, Diddy has already pleaded not guilty to the alleged crimes. He remains behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, recently confirmed to TMZ that his client won’t be taking a plea deal and intends to argue his case in court. Elon Musk Declares Himself “Dark MAGA” While Jumping For Joy During Donald Trump’s Return To Pennsylvania

Donald Trump brought out Elon Musk at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the same site where he survived an assassination attempt back in July. While on stage, Musk discussed his support of the former president, his opinion on voter I.D. laws, and much more.

“Well, first of all, I want to say what an honor it is to be here,” Musk began his speech. “And you know, the true test of someone’s character is how they behave under fire. And we had one president who couldn’t climb a flight of stairs, and another who was fist pumping after getting shot.” From there, he led the crowd in a “Fight! Fight! Fight!” chant and discussed the importance of the election. “Yeah, absolutely. And I think this, this, this election, I think the most important election of our lifetime, this is — this is no ordinary election,” he said.

Vice Presidential Debate Draws 43.1 Million Viewers, Falls Short of 2020 Numbers

Tuesday’s vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz attracted 43.1 million viewers, according to Nielsen figures reported by Bloomberg. While the debate drew a large audience, it fell short of the 2020 vice presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence, which drew 57.9 million viewers across 18 networks.

CBS News, the debate’s host, led the evening’s coverage with nearly 9.6 million viewers. It was followed by Fox News, which took the top spot among cable networks with over 7.9 million viewers. Other networks contributed to the remaining viewership, solidifying the debate as a significant political event.

Despite the high turnout, the viewership drop from 2020 suggests that interest in this year’s vice presidential matchup may not have been as intense as in the previous election cycle. The 2020 debate, featuring the historic faceoff between Vice President Harris and then-Vice President Pence, was seen as pivotal, drawing widespread attention nationwide.

Tuesday’s debate showcased the political contrast between Republican Sen. Vance and Democratic Gov. Walz, who are vying for higher national visibility as the 2024 election approaches. The discussion covered key issues such as the economy, healthcare, and foreign policy, providing voters with insight into the candidates’ visions for the future.

In a critical moment during Tuesday night’s debate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz caught Ohio Senator JD Vance off guard with a straightforward question: “Did Donald Trump lose the 2020 election?”

Vance, visibly uncomfortable, dodged the question and failed to give a clear answer. His attempt to pivot away from the subject has already been labeled the “moment of the night” by reporters, analysts, and pundits. The hesitation was noticeable and left Vance struggling to recover.

Watch the moment below:

Campaign data shows that undecided voters from battleground states marked this exchange as Vance’s worst moment of the debate, potentially damaging his credibility. As election misinformation continues to be a contentious issue, his inability to provide a direct response may sway voters who are seeking clarity on where candidates stand regarding the 2020 election results.

The fallout from this exchange will likely be a talking point in the coming days as the debate continues to resonate with the public.

Federal Judge Rules Biden Harris Administration Can Finally Proceed With Student Loan Forgiveness Plan

Screen Shot 2024 10 03 at 1.23.29 PM

In a big win for debtors of student loans, a federal judge has ruled that the Biden Harris administration can move forward with its new student loan forgiveness plan. This is huge. This decision could provide relief to millions of borrowers in a time where people could use some extra bucks for everyday needs.

Okay so, U.S. District Judge Randal Hall, appointed by former President George W. Bush, allowed a temporary restraining order against the plan to expire on Wednesday, delivering a legal victory for President Joe Biden just weeks before the November election.

The scope of the plan is projected to benefit up to three-quarters of federal student loan holders when combined with previous debt relief efforts, according to estimates from the Center for American Progress.

Get this, the long awaited ruling comes in response to a lawsuit filed by seven Republican-led states—Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, North Dakota, and Ohio—that argued the U.S. Department of Education’s debt cancellation initiative is unlawful. However, Judge Hall found that Georgia lacked the legal standing to challenge the plan, meaning the state could not serve as the venue for the case. Hall ordered the case to be transferred to Missouri, as the states claimed the plan would most impact Mohela, the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority.

Following the ruling, the GOP-led states asked a federal judge in Missouri to block the plan. Why? Of course their job is to obstruct anything that can help Americans, not govern this country, especially while their embattled leader, 34-time felon, Donald Trump vies to return to the White House.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Education expressed its satisfaction with Judge Hall’s ruling, stating that Georgia had “no legal basis” for the lawsuit, but criticized ongoing efforts by Republican officials to halt the debt relief program.

“The fact remains that this lawsuit reflects an ongoing effort by Republican elected officials who want to prevent millions of their own constituents from getting breathing room on their student loans,” a Department spokesperson said. “We will not stop fighting to fix the broken student loan system and provide support and relief to borrowers across the country.”

Just to shine a light on who qualifies, Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan targets four groups of borrowers: those who owe more than they initially borrowed, people who have been repaying their loans for decades, students from schools with low financial value, and borrowers who qualify for existing loan forgiveness programs but have not yet applied.
