Cesar Pina Pushing For Plea Deal: Report

Cesar Pina and his legal team are reportedly working on reaching a plea deal with authorities according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop. His lawyers requested a continuance in hopes that both parties reach a settlement and avoid a trial. Police accuse him of running a multimillion-dollar real estate investment fraud scheme.

The court documents read: “Counsel for the parties represented that this additional continuance is necessary for effective preparation and to permit the parties to attempt to resolve this case prior to indictment and thereby avoid a trial.”

The documents continue: “Plea negotiations are currently in progress, and both the United States and the defendant desire additional time to negotiate a plea agreement, which would render grand jury proceedings and a trial in this matter unnecessary. Thus, the ends of justice served by granting the continuance and preventing any further non-excludable days from passing under § 3161(h) outweigh the best interest of the public and the defendant in a speedy trial. IT IS, therefore ORDERED that this action is continued from the date the Order is signed through February 29, 2024; and it is further ORDERED that those days are excluded in computing time under the Speedy Trial Act of 1974; and it is further ORDERED that nothing in this Order or the application prompting it is a finding or representation that less than 31 non-excludable days under § 3161(h) have expired.”

DJ Envy has been roped into the scandal as he was a former business partner of Pina. Pina defended the former Breakfast Club host after his arrest, claiming he had nothing to do with the alleged scam. Be on the lookout for further updates on Cesar Pina’s case on HotNewHipHop.

YFN RICO Case: Seven Defendants Accept Plea Deals, Only Three Remain

The YFN RICO trial is scheduled to kick off at the beginning of 2024, nearly a year after it was expected to begin. When it’s finally underway, however, only three out of the original 12 defendants will be tried. Seven of the defendants have accepted plea deals in the past couple of weeks. Currently, only YFN Lucci, CP3, and Leek remain.

The maximum sentence a defendant’s received was 20 years, eight to serve, and the minimum sentence was probation. It’s unclear whether any of their plea deals require cooperation. The news comes after Lucci rejected a plea deal back in June. It would have seen him spend 17 years behind bars. The deal would have also required him to plead guilty to felony murder, racketeering, aggravated assault, and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act.

YFN RICO Trial To Begin In Early 2024

Lucci’s attorneys, Drew Findling and Gabe Banks, told TMZ that District Attorney Fani Willis’ terms were “absurd.” They further accused her of “intentionally dragging her feet” in the case of their client. Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial has been postponed to next year due to his co-defendant’s stabbing, meaning the two trials are likely to coincide. The rappers were also reportedly both named as witnesses in each other’s trials.

Ahead of the postponement, Thug’s attorney Brian Steel described the origin of his client’s beef with Lucci in court. According to him, YFN Lucci is less successful than Young Thug, and tries to attach himself to him for clout. He added that Young Thug himself did something similar to Lil Wayne when he was trying to make a name for himself. What do you think of seven defendants in the YFN RICO case taking plea deals in the past couple of weeks? Are you surprised? NLE Choppa Takes Plea Deal, Receives Sentence In Gun And Drug Case

Today, NLE Choppa appeared in court in Broward County for his drug and gun case. Back in 2021, the rapper and other masked men were caught hopping a fence at a tow yard, and later pulled over by police. Officers found two loaded guns in the vehicle, as well as a backpack containing marijuana and Xanax. He was arrested for burglary, drug possession, and carrying a concealed firearm. At the time, he admitted the backpack was his, but claimed he wasn’t aware of the guns in the vehicle.

The 21-year-old pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges and received a sentence of one year of probation. Per their plea deal, prosecutors dropped his gun charge, and reduced the others to misdemeanors. In addition to probation, NLE Choppa will have to complete 40 hours of community service and a firearm safety class. His probation won’t stop him from working, however, as he’s free to travel both domestically and internationally.

Shortly after his 2021 arrest, NLE Choppa claimed that police planted the drugs on him. He suggested that he was targeted because he stands for “something deep.” He vented on Twitter, insisting he was set up. “During this arrest, I was setup,” he wrote. “Substances were planted on me that I don’t consume/use/own, my name was lied upon, and I was even mistreated in the process … This case will be beat and I will walk a free man, remember it’s innocent until proven guilty not guilty until proven innocent.”

Mikey Williams Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor Offense

Highly touted basketball prospect Mikey Williams has pled guilty to a single misdemeanor offense. Prosecutors announced that Williams, who is a freshman at Memphis, will have his nine felony charges reduced to a single misdemeanor. However, he must meet a number of conditions by his sentencing date in August 2024. These conditions include the completion of 80 hours of community service and the completion of both gun safety and anger management courses. Furthermore, Williams is prohibited from owning a firearm for 10 years.

Prior to his plea deal, Williams was facing up to 28 years in prison if found guilty of the nine felonies he had been charged with. The charges stemmed from an incident in April. Williams reportedly discharged a firearm at a vehicle containing six people that was leaving his home in California. No one was injured by police came down on hard on the basketball star. However, the deal means that Williams only pleads guilty to one count of making criminal threats.

Does Mikey Williams Have A Future At Memphis?

However, the legal victory for Williams does little to change his status within the Memphis basketball program. While Williams attends online classes at the school, he is not permitted to engage in team basketball activities until his legal situation is resolved. As his plea is conditional, his status will remain unresolved until he is sentenced. Barring an unforeseen turn of events, this means that Williams will miss the entirety of the 2023-24 season. Furthermore, Memphis will likely wait until his sentencing hearing in August of next year to make a call about his future with the team.

However, even without Williams on the floor, Memphis has gotten off to a strong start to the season. They are 5-1, including major wins over Michigan and then-No. 20 Arkansas. Despite this, their unbeaten start was ended in the Battle 4 Atlantis Championship Game. A late rally by the Tigers was not enough to overcome Villanova. Memphis is next in action on Saturday. However, they have at least one more ranked matchup before the end of the year. On December 10, they take on Texas A&M, currently ranked at No. 14.

YSL RICO Defendant Derontae Bebee Agrees To Plea Deal

The newest chapter in the YSL RICO trial came from yet another defendant cutting a plea deal. The newest is Derontae Bebee who got a relatively solid plea deal in his exit from the legal proceedings. He was sentenced to 15 years via the plea deal. Though lucky for him only 5 of it is jail time and the remaining 10 are on probation. As No Jumper notes, there are only 6 active defendants left among the original 28 indicted, though one of the 6 remaining is Young Thug.

After months of delays and more than a full year behind bars Young Thug’s case is finally moving in the direction of a trial. Last week, a sitting jury was finalized for the remaining defendants. That means that the case is likely headed to trial at the currently scheduled date, later this month. Opening arguments are scheduled to commence on November 27, though estimates for how long the trial itself could last vary wildly. Check out the most recent news on the YSL RICO indictment below.

Another YSL Defendant Pleas Out

Young Thug’s case has continued to generate support from the rap world at large. Meek Mill spoke confidently in his belief that Thugger will be able to beat his case. Sexyy Red also called for Thug to be freed while cracking jokes about how fans often say they look alike. She called Thug her “twin” in a post that also demanded his release.

Much of the delays in the trial have been to decide what is and isn’t admissible as evidence. Young Thug recently took a hit in that department as comments he made about a shooting on Lil Wayne’s tour bus were ruled admissible. The case also reopened a public debate about whether rap lyrics should be used against defendants in court. What do you think of 22 of the 28 YSL RICO defendants taking plea deals as Young Thug’s trial date approaches? Let us know in the comment section below.

Jorge Masvidal Puts Colby Covington Assault Case To Bed

Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington got into a pretty gnarly situation after the two fought in the Octagon for real. Overall, it did not end well for either party. On one end, you had Covington who lost a tooth and who was concussed. Meanwhile, Masvidal was charged with aggravated assault and criminal mischief charges. Needless to say, this was not a good look for Masvidal, who had just lost his fight. Now, however, there is a new development in the case that is good for Gamebred.

According to TMZ, Jorge Masvidal will not face any punishment for what took place. There will be no jail time, and additionally, there will be no probation. By pleading no contest to misdemeanor battery, the MMA star was able to get his two previous charges scrubbed from the record. While Masvidal has not claimed guilt in this, guilt will appear on his record. Effectively, that is the only punishment that the fighter has to face.

Derontae Bebee Accepts Plea Deal In YSL RICO Case, Six Defendants Remain

Recently, YSL affiliate Derontae Bebee entered a guilty plea on RICO charges. He took a deal that will see him serving out a 15-year sentence, five years behind bars and 10 on probation. He may now be called to testify in the upcoming YSL RICO trial, though prosecutors have indicated that they won’t require him to.

Durante Partridge, Bebee’s attorney, has pushed for a reduced sentence as an opportunity for the 23-year-old to turn his life around. Judge Ural Glanville reminded him of the importance of making the most of the opportunity, and taking accountability for his actions. The YSL RICO trial is scheduled to commence later this month, with only six defendants remaining.

YSL RICO Trial Commences On November 27

Earlier this week, the jury selection process was completed after months of delays, meaning that the YSL RICO trial could finally proceed. Young Thug and his co-defendants’ trial will begin on November 27. Finding suitable jurors has proven to be a tough and lengthy process. The seated jury consists of seven Black women, two white women, two Black men, and one white man. It’s also remained controversial whether or not prosecutors should be allowed to use song lyrics in the trial. It’s admissible in Georgia, however, and Fulton County DA Fani Willis is in full support of it.

“I think if you decide to admit your crimes over a beat, I’m going to use it,” she told reporters. “I’m going to continue to do that; people can continue to be angry about it. I have some legal advice: Don’t confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you do not want them used. Or at least get out of my county.” Prosecutors made several errors when they submitted a list of lyrics they intended to use as evidence last week. The list featured misattributed lyrics, incorrect release dates, and even a YNW Melly song. What do you think of Derontae Bebee accepting a plea deal? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Diddy’s Son, Justin Combs, Lands 3 Years Probation In Plea Deal Over DUI

Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, has taken a plea deal in his DUI case and will serve three years of probation. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Combs will have to “enroll and participate in and successfully complete a 3-month licensed first-offender alcohol and other drug education and counseling program.” The sentencing stems from a traffic stop arrest in June at which time his blood alcohol content was higher than 0.08%.

Police say they caught Combs running a red light and could tell he was under the influence after pulling him over. Police then took him to jail and booked him with two misdemeanor charges for driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol content (BAC) higher than 0.08% or more. Later that day, he posted a $5,000 bond.

Combs’ mom, Misa Hylton, slammed Diddy in a heated rant on Instagram after the arrest. She criticized the music mogul for investing in alcohol as a father. “Everyone has to sit around for years and act like there isn’t anything wrong with you. This is where the buck stops for me,” Misa began. “If anything ever happened to my son GOD FORBID. What is anyone going to say to me? When we all know who’s fault it would be.” In more posts, she wrote: “Act BAD BAD boy I used to want to be a BAD Girl I chose to be a QUEEN Tried and true. I’m not perfect but I am INTENTIONAL,” as well as, “I should have kept my child with me. Fuck UCLA too. Everybody can get it.”

Combs’ sentencing comes less than a month after the release of Diddy’s latest project, The Love Album: Off The Grid. The 29-year-old was spotted celebrating its release at the listening party in New York City at the time it dropped.

Tory Lanez Reportedly Refused Plea Deal, Would Have Served Four Years

Last month, Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The case surrounds Megan Thee Stallion getting shot in the foot back in 2020. The rapper had been awaiting his sentencing from behind bars for around seven months. As of now, he’s in the process of appealing his sentence, appearing in court earlier this week to request bail. The sentencing managed to stir up a lot of chatter online. Countless users continue to debate whether or not 10 years is an appropriate punishment for Lanez.

Now, new reports suggest that Lanez had the opportunity to shave off more than half of his 10-year sentence. According to VladTV, the district attorney offered the artist a plea deal, which would have seen him spending only four years behind bars. Apparently, Lanez turned down the plea deal, and opted instead to take the case to trial. Unfortunately for him, the trial didn’t work out to get him any less time than the plea deal would have had him serving.

Tory Lanez Could Have Served Four Years

At the beginning of this month, Tory Lanez’ motion for bail was released by Meghann Cuniff. The motion revealed that he and his fiancée, Raina Chassagne, are now married. Chassagne is also the mother of Lanez’ 6-year-old child. The motion additionally stated that if Lanez were to be released from prison, he would live in the Los Angeles area with his wife and their child.

For those looking for more information, a documentary on Tory Lanez’ shooting has recently been released. Discovery+ announced Megan The Stallion vs. Tory Lanez: Five Shots at the beginning of this month, and it premiered September 4. In the trailer, the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case is called the “biggest trial since O.J.” It’s said to give a fair depiction of either side of the story, allowing viewers to come to their own conclusions. Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Tory Lanez.

Alleged Slimelife Shawty Plea Deal Explanation Proven Fake

Earlier today (August 20), several outlets claimed to have acquired audio purporting to show voice messages from Slimelife Shawty explaining why he took a plea deal in the YSL case. Alongside messages in which Shawty appears to argue that he did it for his family, audio messages appear to drive the message home. “It really made me think – damn, who gonna be there for my kids?,” Shawty can reportedly be heard saying. “I don’t fuck with a n*gga like that. I ain’t gonna be around a n*gga like that,” Shawty allegedly continued. The second comment was in reference when asked if he’s spoken with Durk since the plea.

However, the audio has since been proven to be fake. The source of the audio was actually a 2021 interview that Shawty did on the Big Facts podcast. Someone, it’s unclear who, lifted the audio and spliced it over doctored images of text messages purportedly from Shawty to an unknown figure.

Furthermore, it’s been a pretty busy week in regard to the YSL trial and its ever-unfolding consequences. The complex nature of the case has led to the delay of YFN Lucci’s trial. The primary reason for the delay in Lucci’s case is that Lucci is actually part of the YSL case. “YFN Lucci’s trial was due to begin January 9, same as Young Thug’s. The YFN gang and RICO case is just as wide-ranging as the YSL case,” Chidi tweeted. “The two are connected; Lucci is a witness,” tweeted journalist George Chidi. “And here we go. For clarification: Lucci is on the state’s witness list. That doesn’t mean he’s going to testify, but he could still be called. Don’t @ me with questions about snitching. I don’t care.”

However, it’s the possibility that Lucci could be called to testify means that his trial cannot start. Prosecutors would not want to begin only to be postponed if he was called to testify in the YSL case. This comes as more twists emerge in the YSL case. Last week, a warrant was ordered on the laptop of attorney Eric Johnson. Johnson had been accused of allowing one of his clients, Christian Eppinger, to use his laptop to contact people and YSL contacts outside of prison. Previously, the investigation into Eppinger’s conduct led to the arrest of a Fulton County deputy, who was reportedly in a romantic relationship with Eppinger. However, given the chaotic state of the YSL trial, it’s unclear how long Lucci’s trial will remain delayed.
