Lil Wayne and Young Money Entertainment has brought Hip-Hop to some of the biggest acts and runs in history. Lil Wayne himself was on the label, Drake is one of the GOATs, and there were runs like Tyga that some artists wish they had. But if you ask Wayne himself, Nicki Minaj is the greatest Young Money artist of all time.
Speaking on Complex’s GOAT Talk series, Lil Wayne revealed Nicki’s status as the YM goat. “GOAT Young Money artist? Nicki Minaj,” Wayne said.
Appearing on the show with Lil Wayne was 2 Chainz, who agreed, “I would say Nicki too.”

Nicki Minaj and her Pink Friday 2 album has flooded the Billboard hot 100. The album sits at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as well.
Pink Friday 2 launched 14 songs into the Hot 100, with two debuting into the top 40, “Everybody” feat Lil Uzi Vert at No. 26 and “Needle” feat. Drake at No. 34.
Pink Friday 2 has now pushed Minaj to the top of the list of female rappers with the most No. 1 albums on Billboard.
Before the release of the album, Minaj was tied with Foxy Brown for the record. Pink Friday 2 moved 228,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Dec. 14.
Additionally, the album is the biggest debut for a female HIp-Hop album in Spotify history. The album also sold 25,000 copies of vinyl.
Nicki Minaj’s album Pink Friday 2debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated December 23, and as per Billboard, Minaj has 14 songs currently charting on the Hot 100. One of them is “FTCU” at No. 42. But the more significant achievement is arguably that Rihanna liked the song enough to dance to it at her latest Fenty X Puma launch event on Monday, December 18.
Lil Nas X already shared his unofficial remix of “FTCU.” While there has not been any confirmation that Minaj plans to drop an “FTCU” remix featuring Lil Nas X, what about Rihanna?
Is Rihanna On Nicki Minaj’s Album ‘Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe)’?
On Wednesday evening, December 20, Minaj re-posted the above clip of Rihanna dancing to “FTCU.” She wrote atop the video on her Instagram Story, “The full gag city deluxe ain’t coming out until Queen Rih send her vocals. POW @badgirlriri [three heart hands emojis].”
Make of that what you will. Minaj’s 24-track Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe) is already available for download via her official website, but a Rihanna verse? In this economy? If Rihanna, who famously hasn’t released an album since 2016’s Anti, sees Minaj’s post and takes it seriously, Minaj would have no other choice but to retroactively add to Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe). Gag City would implode.
Minaj’s recently announced Pink Friday 2 World Tour — which she’s also calling “The #GagCity Tour” — is scheduled to kick off on March 1, 2024 in Oakland, California. See all of the dates here.
Nicki Minaj has roared back into the public eye with the release of her 5th studio album Pink Friday 2 earlier this month. The project was her first new studio album in 5 years and came in on a massive wave of hype from her devoted fanbase. Nicki didn’t hold anything back from the project including a trio of singles that had already reached chart success and a variety of high-profile features. Drake, J. Cole, Future, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, and more appear on the project.
One of those features is from gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard. She appears on the track “Blessings” which pops up near the end of the album. The genre switch-up ultimately netted Nicki a brand new achievement on the charts. The song hit number one on this week’s edition of the Hot Gospel Songs chart, the first time Nicki has topped this specific chart. The song marks Leonard’s 5th time reaching the very top of Hot Gospel Songs chart. It’s one of numerous charts that were rocked by the release of Pink Friday 2. Check out even more of Nicki’s accomplishments below.
Pink Friday 2 also had an impressive impact on the Hot 100. 14 of the album’s 22 tracks made an appearance on this week’s chart. Three of the songs cracked the top 50. They were led by “Everybody” featuring Lil Uzi Vert which debuted inside the top 30. The number are particularly impressive given how much Christmas music dominates the Hot 100 this time of year. Christmas songs make up the majority of the Top 50 on this weeks chart.
Where the album made its most dominant impression was on the Billboard 200 where it stormed to a commanding first week debut. The album debuted at the number one spot after pushing more than 200k units in its first week. That total is enough to place it among the ten biggest first-week debuts of 2023. What do you think of Nicki Minaj scoring her first number-one hit on the Hot Gospel Songs chart with the release of Pink Friday 2? Let us know in the comment section below.
Nicki Minaj has been the center of attention for more than a week now. That’s because the legendary rapper just released her 5th studio album Pink Friday 2. It’s her first new album in 5 years and she didn’t hold back. The 22-track album includes three singles that dropped beforehand and a number of high-profile features. Rappers like Drake, Lil Wayne, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, J. Cole, and more make appearances throughout the record.
Nicki has also done a pretty extensive press run for the project but her biggest interview yet may be forthcoming. Joe Budden posted a picture of the pair together with the simple caption “Soon…” The tease didn’t come with an announcement of when fans will be able to watch the interview for themselves, but that didn’t stop them from getting excited. Interviews with Nicki have become an even hotter commodity recently as she’s continued to take fans behind the scenes with the creation of Pink Friday 2. Check out the interview tease below.
Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj got the good news on on how Pink Friday 2 impacted the Billboard charts. She made a splash on the Hot 100, debuting 14 of the album’s 22 songs. Three of the tracks landed in the top 50, which is pretty impressive numbers given how much of the chart is dominated by Christmas music this time of year. Those numbers are in addition to the performance of the singles she released. “Last Time I Saw You” had a top 25 debut and “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” was inside the top 20. Lead single “Super Freaky Girl” had a commanding debut at the number 1 spot on the Hot 100 in its first week.
Where she was even more impressive was on the Billboard 200. Pink Friday 2 became Nicki Minaj’s third #1 album and her first in over a decade. The album didn’t just debut at number one though. It pushed some very impressive first week numbers selling well over 200k copies placing it among the top 10 highest first week sales total of the year. What do you think of Joe Budden teasing an upcoming interview with Nicki Minaj? Let us know in the comment section below.

Despite the massive influx of Christmas music that occupies the Hot 100 this time of year, Nicki Minaj still managed an impressive showing on the chart. A week after releasing her highly anticipated new album Pink Friday 2 more than half of the album’s 22 tracks made their debut on the Hot 100. It puts her among pretty impressive company with artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift who made similar album dumps earlier this year.
Leading the way is Nicki’s collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert “Everybody.” The song became the instant breakout hit of the bunch and had numerous celebrities sharing videos of themselves dancing to it on social media. The song made its debut at number 26 on the Hot 100, one of three songs that landed inside the top 50 on the chart. “Needle” which featured Drake continued the rapper’s massive year on the Hot 100 landing at number 34. The hard-hitting “FTCU” also made an impressive debut at number 42.
Even before the album was released it had already made an impression on the Hot 100. The album’s lead single “Super Freaky Girl” dropped last year and immediately shot up to the very top of the chart, debuting at number one in its first week. She also released the songs “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” and “Last Time I Saw You” which peaked at number 13 and 23 respectively.
Nicki Minaj had an even stronger debut on the Billboard 200. Pink Friday 2 debuted on the chart over the weekend at the very top spot. Not only did the album hit number one but it also sold well over 200k copies in its first week, placing it among some of the biggest debuts of the year. All five of Nicki’s albums have debuted at either number one or number two dating back to 2010. Pink Friday 2 is Nicki’s first number one album since Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded which originally dropped back in 2012. Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj dropped Pink Friday 2, the long-awaited sequel to her beloved debut album. The record arrived on streaming with a slew of high-profile guest features. Flanked between tracks featuring massive industry names such as Drake and Lil Uzi Vert, the track “Cowgirl” holds writing and performing credits for a relatively unknown artist named Lourdiz. Though this track serves as a break-out moment for the 20-year-old artist, she holds extensive writing credits. She also touts a Spotify following of over 1.8 million monthly listeners.
Lourdiz currently operates out of Los Angeles, California, though she was born and raised in San Antonio. The rapper draws profound inspiration from her Mexican-American roots, and many describe her influences as distinctly Tejano. The rising star credits her early influences with inspiring her country-rap sound, as heard on “Cowgirl.”
In the track, Nicki Minaj and Lourdiz exchange verses about their rodeo-style adventures in the bedroom. The latter takes to the mic to deliver, “I just wanna get drunk tonight, and I’ma ride him cowgirl.” The track serves as the first collaboration between the pair of femcees, though this isn’t the first time Lourdiz has worked with a prominent industry name.
The Lyricist Has A Star-Studded Circle
Before collaborating with Nicki Minaj on “Cowgirl,” Lourdiz gained recognition for her songwriting skills. She contributed to hits for Swae Lee, G-Eazy, Anitta, blackbear, and Saweetie. Lourdiz has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get her name out, producing such genre-blending tracks as “Suicide Down” with Lil Gotit, “Back Seat” with Saweetie, and her own solo track “Somersault” which has over 1.4 million Spotify streams.
One thing many artists utilize to grow their budding brand is a visibly distinct trademark. For Lourdiz, her one-of-a-kind haircut telegraphs her arrival before anything else. The artist uses a straight razor to shave a reverse-mohawk style into a gaping center part. Lourdiz records this process on video and shares it on TikTok, leading some to speculate that this distinctive style might soon evolve into its trend. While some have taken to social media to deride the distinct image, likening the wide-open part to biblical imagery of Moses parting the Red Sea, others have highlighted the unique and boundary-pushing look as Lourdiz’ trademark.
The Young Star Has Already Courted Controversy
Although artistic expression often stirs controversy, some new fans were surprised to discover that the 20-year-old rapper has already sparked significant discussions across social media. Reportedly, Lourdiz is both a client and a personal friend of the renowned record producer Dr. Luke, best known for his involvement in a 2014 lawsuit with Ke$ha. In the suit, Ke$ha claims that Dr. Luke drugged and sexually assaulted her. Ke$ha also claims the producer continually tortured her psychologically throughout their working relationship.
Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, P!nk, Avril Lavigne, and Kelly Clarkson all provided sworn testimonies during the legal battle, which finally settled out of court earlier this year. While Lourdiz was never involved in the court case, critics have targeted her for releasing the track “All My Bitches,” which many fans interpreted as a direct diss record mocking Ke$ha. Dr. Luke is also listed as a writer and producer on “Cowgirl.” Whatever the case, it appears that Lourdiz’ star is on the rise, meaning her best and worst moments will soon be under the microscope of public opinion.
Foxy Brown congratulated Nicki Minaj on Instagram, Sunday night, for breaking her record for being the female rapper with the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200. She achieved the feat with the success of her new project, Pink Friday 2, which released as her third to do so. According to reports from Chart Data, the project sold 222K units in its first week since release. Its predecessor, Minaj’s debut studio album, also topped the Billboard 200 as did her second studio album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
“Only Nic could break tha king record,” Brown wrote before teasing that she’ll be dropping a third No. 1 record in 2024. In another post, she wrote: “Hella proud [fire emoji]. 26 yr record iz brazy tho. Y’all mean to tell me no b*tch broke that sh*t in my absence! Took twin to set tha bar again!”
It’s not the first time that Brown has praised Nicki since the release of Pink Friday 2. She also spoke about their relationship for a birthday tribute, last week. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY TRUE LIFE LIL’ SISTER, RIDER, THERAPIST, SPARRING PARTNER, VOICE OF REASON, SALT & PEPA, BABY C’s FAVE AUNTIE [heart emoji]” she wrote on Instagram. “I KNOW THE MAD GENIUS MIND F*CK YOU DUG DEEP FOR TO DELIVER THIS MASTERPIECE! [fire emoji] 24/7 MOMMY AND BODIED THAT SH*T!” Check out Brown’s latest posts for Nicki below.
Nicki dropped Pink Friday 2 on December 8 featuring collaborations with J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Future, 50 Cent, Monica, and Keyshia Cole, among others. More recently, she made headlines for refusing to clear her verse on Kanye West’s upcoming album, Vultures. Be on the lookout for further updates on Foxy Brown and Nicki Minaj on HotNewHipHop.
