Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival in Virginia Beach has an insane lineup over three days, so it’s no surprise that it’s given us some standout performance moments so far. However, among its many surprise guests and memorable sets was none other than Virginia native Chris Brown. Moreover, the R&B star appeared to perform some hits for the crowd, showing off his dance moves and vocal range. What’s more is that the Neptunes icon came out on stage to give Brown his flowers. During his remarks, he noted the many talents and artistic areas in which he’s thrived for almost two decades.

Furthermore, as the In My Mind star went on, Brown continuously thanked Pharrell and the crowd for their love. When he left the stage, he asked the crowd to turn up and be safe, adding that he loves them. Despite what this guest appearance might have you believe, the “Yeah 3x” singer actually isn’t a fan of performing in the States anymore. When a fan asked him when he’d perform at the Super Bowl, he said that he doesn’t want to perform for a crowd he doesn’t feel appreciates him. “Never shawty,” he responded to the fan. “American media AINT FA me. Of course, that is likely due to his many public controversies which, although years-old, continue to be brought up by him or by fans. Wu-Tang Clan just graced New Orleans, Louisiana with a stellar performance at the New Orleans Jazz And Heritage Festival. Moreover, all members (including Raekwon, RZA, GZA, U-God, and more) seemed to have a great time on stage as some of their best hits played. In particular, the crowd and the crew were really feeling their rendition of the classic “Can It All Be So Simple.” In fact, Method Man was very impressed with the American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter that helped them throughout the show. He had such a great time watching her do her thing that he danced along, imitating her hand motions and observing her with a big smile on his face.

Teyana Taylor has agreed to be Latto’s new creative director, after handling her performance at Coachella, last weekend. She wrote about the move in a post on Instagram shared on Sunday night. The statement accompanied a video of her running through the choreography of Latto’s set.

“The Aunties are not just regular creative directors, we’re cool creative directors @theauntiesinc,” Taylor captioned the post. “I am truly a proud AUNTEYYYYYYYYYYYYY @latto777 you did ya big one both weekends. I’m so proud of your growth, willingness to be a student to better your craft and your dedication! It’s not the first time that Teyana Taylor has worked behind the scenes with Latto. She previously collaborated on Latto’s debut campaign for PrettyLittleThing. Taylor shared pictures from that shoot on Instagram in 2021 with the caption: “I’m not like a regular @prettylittlething creative director I’m a cool @prettylittlething creative director…Rite Regina??? also my [leaf emoji] blower & I comes as a personal Beyoncé fan to make sure the hair is blowing in the rite direction to get the perfect shot for my babe @latto777 LOL she look da fuck good and killed this @prettylittlething shoot!!! The move comes after Taylor announced her retirement from music following her 2020 project, The Album. “I gotta do it for my mental health,” she said at the time. “I have to do it for my emotional health. I have to do it for my kids, so I can stay alive for my kids. Until I’m free, until I can get [Def Jam] to release me, yes I want to retire.” In recent weeks, she’s been promoting her new film, A Thousand And One. Frank Ocean’s Coachella Ice Skating Rink Used By Skrillex

The ice skating rink that Frank Ocean planned to use during his Coachella performance ended up being used for Skrillex, Fred Again.., and Four Tet’s set at the festival. The group took the ice out of the rink and made a stage out of it. The decision was made after Ocean dropped out of the festival for its second weekend after a disappointing showing as the headliner for the first weekend. It was later reported that Ocean suffered an ankle injury during rehearsals for the set. “It was chaotic,” he said in a statement. “There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”

Billboard previously reported Frank Ocean’s injury will cost the festival millions of dollars. They wrote that Coachella was “trying to make the best out of the millions of dollars spent on building a giant ice pad that was supposed to accommodate over 100 skaters during Ocean’s set last Sunday,” and that “the Goldenvoice team is working out how to incorporate it into another yet-to-be determined performance.”

Despite the disappointing performance from Ocean, the elusive singer did confirm that a new album is on the way during his set. “It’s been so long. Everybody talks about how long it’s been. ‘It’s been so long, it’s been so long.’ But I have missed you,” Frank told the audience between songs. “I want to talk about why I’m here, because it’s not because of a new album. It’s because — not that there’s not a new album… but there’s not right now. Chill, chill, chill. No, it’s not right now.”

The trio of Skrillex, Fred Again.., And Four Tet recently all collaborated on the track, “Baby Again..,” which released in March. In addition to Coachella adding them on as replacements for Ocean, the festival also moved Blink-182’s set up on Sunday to accommodate.

Ne-Yo’s Baby Mama Sade Showers Him In Love On IG

Sade, an influencer who was rumored to be Ne-Yo’s baby mama, is confirming that rumor with a lot of pride. Moreover, she recently uploaded various videos of the R&B icon to her social media, sharing some Instagram clips of him performing at what seems to be a club. “Mmmmmm sexy a** baby daddy,” she captioned a video of Ne-Yo, real name Shaffer Chimere Smith, during his concert. “F**k what you talking about,” she added with some sweaty emojis. Kaytranada brought out H.E.R., Tinashe, and Anderson .Paak for a star-studded Coachella performance on Friday night. With H.E.R., the two performed their collaboration, “Intimidated.” For Tinashe, they handled “The Worst In Me” from Kaytranada’s 2019 album, Bubba. Finally, Anderson .Paak performed “Glowed Up” from 99.9% with Kaytranada.

Fans on social media were ecstatic about the set. “@KAYTRANADA seeing you last night @coachella reminded me when I saw you LIVE @LIVmiami with Abel @theweeknd & The AHTD tour opening as well. As for future collaborations, Kaytranada and Aminé will release an album together called Kaytraminé, next month. The project will be the first for Aminé since dropping TwoPointFive back in November 2021. As for Kaytranada, he released Bubba in 2019 although he’s produced music for several other popular artists in the time since, including Ravyn Lenae, Joyce Wrice, and PinkPantheress. He also handled IDK’s 2022 album, Simple.

While Kaytranada’s Coachella performance went over smoothly, not everyone’s appearances have gone so well. Frank Ocean dropped out of his week two performance after fans were upset with his effort at the first go-around. It was later reported that he suffered an ankle injury beforehand and was unable to go through with the set that he had planned. In a statement shared with Rolling Stone afterward, he said: “It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.” The festival has yet to announce a replacement headliner in Ocean’s stead, although Blink-182 was originally reported to do so.

Usher Says He’s Interested In Headlining Super Bowl Halftime

Usher says that he hopes the NFL invites him to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The legendary singer discussed the hypothetical opportunity during an interview with Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans at the Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace pop-up in Los Angeles, earlier this week.

“I’d be a fool to say no,” Usher said. “Well, I mean, you know, things line up that we would all hope. You know, one day, that moment will happen.” From there, Usher mentioned several famous performances, including Michael Jackson, Prince, and Dr. Dre. He added that adding his name to the list is on his “bucket list.” While it’d be his first time headlining the iconic show, Usher previously performed at the Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show. The Black Eyed Peas brought him on stage for their collaboration, “OMG.”

He also addressed the idea of headlining the Super Bowl Halftime show during an interview with AP News in February. “What I am thankful for is the fact that there’s even any conversation about me — period,” he said at the time. “I feel humbled that at this age and this juncture of my life, people still have to ask the question, (even) after all of the No. 1s that I’ve had and all the diamond (selling songs), that I have enough records to perform 15 minutes. If I were ever asked to perform at the Super Bowl, of course I would definitely be into it.” The interview came after Rihanna headlined Super Bowl LVII. Her set drew in 118.7 million viewers, making it the second most-watched halftime show in history, behind the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show (2015).

Usher brought out Yung Miami to perform their 2022 collaboration, “Good Love,” during a show for his residency in Las Vegas, earlier this week. The City Girls rapper shared pictures from the night on Instagram, Saturday.

“Vegassss!!!!!!” Yung Miami wrote in the caption of the post, which features several photos of her behind the scenes as well as on stage. Usher commented with several fire emojis while Saweetie replied with a heart eyes emoji.

Miami is far from the first celebrity Usher brought out for his Las Vegas residency. Back in March, the singer honored Queen Latifah at the event. During his first residency in the city, he also welcomed Diddy on stage. Ahead of his latest stint in Sin City, Usher spoke with BET about his love for performing in front of his fans and giving a memorable shows. “That’s because of the time and passion I put into the art,” he said. “The art is the show, the music is the offering, right? Because everybody’s going to interpret what I’m saying maybe a different way because of their experience or what they feel. But the art of it and the time where I get a chance to give something to people that they’ll remember forever is in that moment. So that’s what I love about performing live for my fans.”

As for Yung Miami, outside of performing with Usher, she’s also working on new music of her own. During a new cover story for The Cut, she confirmed that a new album will be coming at some point in the summer. “Girl, I ain’t even gonna tell! I don’t know, like it is coming, and it will be sometime this summer for real, for real, for real. When you doing a project, it takes time,” she explained to the outlet. “We’re trying to sit through it and make sure that that’s what we want to put out. It’s gonna hit different.”

Girll Codee Trend After “Wild ‘N Out” Performance

During the most recent episode of Nick Cannon’s “Wild ‘N Out,” Girll Codee caught many’s attention for their performance. Moreover, they appeared in the segment “Kick ‘Em Out The Classroom,” which seems to consist of various “students” freestyling and adding phrases to a flow that either stay in the classroom or… well, you know. For those of you who aren’t familiar with that name, Girll Codee is a Brooklyn rap group consisting of femcees Shaa Biggaa and Hiii Siddity, and they made a splash for their appearance. Not only was it quite the fun segment, but they were also able to show off their rap skills.

While they’re still rising stars and making a name for themselves, Girll Codee participated in a few high-profile events and promotional opportunities. One of these was the Hot 97 Summer Jam in 2022, which brought out some of the biggest artist in the rap world. To elaborate, the lineup included Pusha T, Lil Durk, Benny The Butcher, Gunna, Fivio Foreign, City Girls, and many more. The New York duo was also on that lineup, and formed part of an exciting group of up-and-comers who might not need that title in a few months.

Justin Bieber appeared to be falling asleep during Frank Ocean’s polarizing Coachella performance, last weekend. In a TikTok video shared by a nearby attendee, Bieber looked like he was dosing off with his eyes closed. Bieber previously remarked that he was “blown away” by the performance in a statement on social media. The moment came as Ocean sang “At Your Best (You Are Love).”

Despite eager anticipation from fans, Ocean’s set started an hour late and ended abruptly to comply with the festival’s curfew restrictions. Additionally, Ocean performed mostly sitting down with his back to the crowd while also lip-syncing at several points. Reports from TMZ and Rolling Stone later claimed that Ocean’s performance “was adjusted at the last minute to account for an ankle injury the singer sustained during on-site rehearsals in the week leading up to the festival.”

Despite the disappointing reactions from fans, one moment from Ocean’s set that certainly stood out was the confirmation of a new album.
