Icewear Vezzo Shares 12 New Cuts From His “Live From The 6” Recording Sessions

“If you’re competing with me, it’s a waste of time and money. You should save up instead. We don’t want the same things. I’m not running out. I’m not paying attention. Plus, I’m not that fun. #LiveFromThe6 #Two #ComingSoon👿” That was Detroit rapper Icewear Vezzo about three months ago promoting (Part Two) of his 2024 album, Live From The 6. The project, out via Quality Control Music in February, featured DaBaby, Babyface Ray, YTB Fatt, and Chuckie CEO. Vezzo delivered some pretty dark, cutthroat, and earnest tracks about the lifestyle he leads and how it’s a byproduct of his hometown. Across the 13-song project, the 11-year veteran comes across as braggadocious and intimidating, which is pretty on brand.

That quote we mentioned at the beginning probably best describes Live From The 6 and its subsequent hard-hitting sequel, (Part 2). Out today, October 30, the 12 new records keep the continuity alive. Also, given that it’s out on the eve of Halloween, it’s just as perfect on its own for the spooky season. Once again, Vezzo is extremely serious on each record. “Walk Down” with Bankroll Freddie and the epic opener “Musty” are two of the prime examples. We have to applaud his work ethic this year by getting this out just eight months removed from part one. It’s consistent with how he’s been since he burst onto the scene and we love to see him keep that up for himself and his fans.

Xzibit Delivers A Part Two For “Been A Long Time” 24 Years Later

So far, we have to say that this uniting of Xzibit and Conor McGregor has been a match made in heaven. The Detroit born rapper and multimedia talent joined the UFC champion’s upstart entertainment venture Greenback Records earlier this month. The collective made the announcement on social media, writing, “In the kingdom of hip-hop, only the real ones reign supreme. A legend joins the Greenback dynasty ready to make history. We proudly welcome @xzibit to Greenback Records – the new chapter starts here.” In addition to that shocking but exciting news was the reveal of Xzibit’s first solo album since 2011’s Napalm.

Sometime next year, Greenback will house the legendary figure’s King Maker. Not much else is available in that regard. However, we now have two singles to get into as of Friday. October 11 marked his official return with the epic “Play This At My Funeral.” If you haven’t heard it yet, check it out here. But this weekend, Xzibit is dropping by with a familiar title, “Been A Long Time Pt.2.” On his popular 2000 album Restless, X dropped the inaugural track alongside the late hook master, Nate Dogg. Jenn Em fills that role on this version, and we must say she passes with flying colors. Both show off X’s slightly “softer” side, as his trademark growling delivery is still present while he raps about love and being there for his circle.

Quotable Lyrics:

I walk up in the room, they still can’t ignore the elephant
I conversate with a candidate
Energy feels great, body shaped like a figure eight
I’m real rough around the edges
She tried to seal the deal, but I was holdin’ all the leverage
Who the hell you textin’ now? Who the f*** you talkin’ to?

Tinashe Delivers Part Two Of Her Trilogy & Her Seventh Album “Quantum Baby”

Tinashe has once again been having a stellar stretch in her career. In 2023, the Lexington, Kentucky native put out a handful of addicting singles, those being sexually charged “Needs” and the pulsing “Talk To Me Nice”. Both went onto be promotional release for her eventual sixth album, BB/ANG3L. Easily one of her most consistent and concise records to date, it’s laid the groundwork for what she’s set out to do in 2024. Sure, the project was just seven cuts and 20 minutes, but sometimes, less is more. Fast forward to April 12 and Tinashe would go onto to drop her most viral single since 2014’s “2 On” with “Nasty”. The track has received some backlash, as most popular songs do.

But here, the R&B/pop balladeer seemed to blend those two genres to perfection like never before. The track hooks you right away with her trippy repetition of “I’ve been a nasty girl, nasty / I’ve been a nasty girl, nasty“. Then, when the simple but addicting drum pattern kicks in and you start dancing to it, it’s got you for good and it’s not letting go. Quite ironically, Tinashe’s new album, Quantum Baby, is quite the opposite of this single. More times than, you are getting more airy and experimental sound palettes. Examples of this include “Cross That Line”, “Red Flags”, and “Getting No Sleep”. Its hard to chose which is better, but Tinashe has another high-quality effort with Quantum Baby. This is now project number two in this ongoing trilogy and it’s her seventh album to date. Give it a try with the links below.

Quavo Looks To Reunite With Travis Scott By Teasing “Huncho Jack 2”

Quavo and Travis Scott are one of the elite duos in the trap rap space. Over the past decade, these two Southern hip-hop artists have delivered time and time again. You have tracks like “Oh My Dis Side”, “pick up the phone”, “Sloppy Toppy”, and “Kelly Price”, as well as countless others. The first of those collaborations really had a lot of listeners captivated by their incredible chemistry and it had people thinking what they could sound like on a full project. Well, they went for it all in December 2017, leaving off an early present under the Christmas tree with Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho.

The tape has since eclipsed one billion plus streams overall since its release almost seven years ago. Memorable cuts from it include “Dubai S***”, “Motorcycle Patches”, and “Black & Chinese”. When that milestone was reached late last year, Quavo commented under the Our Generation Music post about it, hinting at the possibility of a sequel. “That’s tuff next one loadin….. battery 🔋”, the former Migo wrote. To our knowledge, Scott has not been too vocal about this, but the Atlanta native sure is.

The Rocket Power rapper has recently been stirring the pot once again on his Instagram. The first video sees Quavo on his jet ski while listening to “Go” from their collab tape. He captioned the story post, “HJ2”. Then, he shared another message on the IG feed asking his fans to “Tag Jack!” as he continues to wrestle with this idea. “Thinkin HJ2 ?”, he said. Him and Scott have not made a song with just the two of them since “RERUN” from the former’s solo debut album. Overall, though, their most recent work on track came last summer with “Ring Ring”, which also had CHASE B, Don Toliver and Ty Dolla $ign.

What are your thoughts on Quavo hinting at a possible reunion with Travis Scott for a Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho part two? Do you think their time has passed as a duo, or do you still need this? What are your favorite tracks from their 2017 collaborative tape? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments.
