Noreaga Says Cardi B Confronted Him About “Drink Champs” Comments

An interaction with Cardi B apparently caused Noreaga to reevaluate how he approaches women in the industry. The Rap icon’s musical contributions to Hip Hop are etched in stone, but his success as a podcast host has catapulted him to new heights. Drink Champs is a leading force in Hip Hop media, and they recently inked a new deal with Warner Music Group’s in-house network, Interval Presents.

Nore was recently a guest on The Joe Budden Podcast, where he revealed that a conversation with a rapper shifted how he approached his interviews. “When I had the conversation with Cardi B, she kinda like, revealed things that I was doing on the show,” said Nore. “It made her think I was dissing her.” He further admitted that other women in Rap took issue with remarks he made on Drink Champs about them, as well. This included Foxy Brown and Lil Kim, who Nore said confronted him with similar concerns.

“It was almost identical. And I realized, one, I’m not playing with females at all,” he continued. “Ever again. I apologize, women, y’all got my whole ears. Apologize. I did not know what I was doing. And when Cardi told me how sometimes these questions, it’s different when you ask it for females. I didn’t realize that ’cause I’m not a female.”

“And I actually—’cause I don’t feel sorry for nobody famous,” Noreaga further shared. “If you famous and rich, I’m sorry, f*ck you. And that was the first time that I was like, ‘I’m sorry.’ Actually, I don’t know if I said that to her, I think I did say ‘I’m sorry, Cardi.’ Because I didn’t realize the same questions I could ask, it’s different when I ask it of a female.”

At the end of December, Nore said he welcomed Cardi to Drink Champs after having a “great conversation” with her. At the time, he didn’t explain what the discussion was about, but it may have had something to do with his recent revelation. No word if she’s accepted the invitation, but we’ll keep you posted if it materializes. Check out the clip of Noreaga on The Joe Budden Podcast above.

Drink Champs Celebrates New Deal With Warner Music Group

It has been praised as one of the best Hip Hop podcasts, and Drink Champs is making major moves. Noreaga and DJ EFN’s conversations with the culture’s most influential figures have captivated a global audience. Since 2015, they’ve snagged interviews with the industry’s often elusive elite—including Dave Chappelle, Kanye West, and even Patti LaBelle.

Today (January 12), it was shared that Drink Champs was ushering in a new era. A press release also stated they’ve partnered with Interval Presents, Warner Music Group’s in-house podcasts network. This is a distribution partnership where Interval Presents “gained the exclusive licensing rights to the audio version of the podcast on all major podcast platforms.”

“I’m feeling good about partnering with Interval Presents and joining the all-star team they’ve got,” said Noreaga. He further stated, “We’re ready to take things to the next level for us and the culture at large! Let’s go!!”

DJ EFN added, “We were impressed with the network’s dedication to the culture and the support we’ve received to expand our show to reach new heights allowing us to further pioneer and break barriers in the space!”

Drink Champs has also been earning its fair share of recognition, as well. They won Best Hip-Hop Platform at the BET Hip-Hop Awards last year. Recently, they were nominated for Best Music Podcast for the 2023 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards.

N.O.R.E. Invites Cardi B On ‘Drink Champs’: “I Respect Her”

Cardi B hasn’t done many interviews in the past year. But if Noreaga has his way, the Bronx rapper would be appearing on Drink Champs in 2023.

The podcast cohost has officially extended an invite to Cardi to appear on a future episode of his popular podcast. NORE also revealed that the two recently had “a great conversation.” No word on what the New York rappers spoke about. But the C-N-N rapper seemed excited about their convo.

“I had a great conversation wit @iamcardib the other day,” he tweeted. “And I wanna say I respect her!!! Would love to officially invite her to drinkchamps to talk chop cheese, newports and all other greatness !!!” Cardi has achieved various accolades in 2022, including reaching over 100 million RIAA-Certified units sold.

However, fans are still awaiting the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s highly anticipated sophomore album. Cardi took to Instagram Live earlier this year to give an update on the project. “I’ve been having a lot of anxiety, because I know right after I drop my album, I have to go out on tour and I have bad separation anxiety from my kids.”

Cardi has yet to respond to NORE’s offer. But in the meantime, the podcast host confirmed that Keith Murray will be the next legend to appear on Drink Champs. “Yes we getting Keith Murray on drinkchamps,” Nore tweeted. “In Jan when we come off the break!!!” The news comes days after Murray made headlines, claiming that he was intimate with Foxxy Brown while she dated Kurupt

“I ate her p**sy but I never f****ed her and then she was with Kurupt at the time, so we was coming out of the hotel after she gave me head and we was coming and Kurupt was coming.”
