Azealia Banks Blasts Nicki Minaj For Being “Obsessed” With Cardi B

No one is safe with it comes to the wrath of Azealia Banks — especially her fellow female rappers. Last month, the Harlem rapper refueled her beef with Nicki Minaj after claiming that the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper was responsible for putting an end to her upcoming reality show. Azealia shared via Instagram that she was supposed to start filming a show with an undisclosed network, “but apparently Nicki gave the network an ultimatum because she knows I’ll have better ratings.”

The “212” rapper went on to unload on Nicki, claiming that the network execs, “all hate her and think she’s ghetto, terrible to work with, overweight and boring.” Though Nicki hasn’t responded to the accusations, Azealia still hasn’t let up on the Queens rapper. On Tuesday (September 27), Banks reignited her feud with Minaj by targeting the 39-year old’s beef with Cardi B. “Nicki is so obsessed with Cardi it’s only making me like cardi more,” Azaelia shared via Instagram.

“Nicki is giving twenty levels of peasy black girl with the burnt perm who is jealous of the Spanish girl that just moved down the block.” The controversial rapper continued on blasting the Barb for relying on “tokenism” to get ahead in the game. “A smart Nicki would have done the cardi, doja, Megan collabs smiled in their faces while safaree worked on her album in the background then came through and dominated. Without showing the world how desperately you’ve relied on tokenism and sabotaging other black female rappers behind the scenes.”

This isn’t the first time AB appeared to be team Cardi. Over the summer, she made headlines for calling the Bronx rapper an industry plant, but later clarified her statement, adding, “But sis took advantage of the opportunity and rode that bi**h the f**K out, assembled the right team, seized the moment and made herself a cultural mainstay. U have to respect it.”

Nicki Minaj has yet to comment on Azealia’s comments. Share your thoughts below.

Azealia Banks Calls Out Nicki Minaj For ‘Sabotaging Other Black Female Rappers Behind The Scenes’

Azealia Banks has taken to her Instagram Story to weigh in on the beef between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, which has only exacerbated since the new drama featuring rising rapper Akbar V. In her typical fashion, Banks didn’t hold back on her criticisms, especially regarding the way Minaj has “relied on tokenism and sabotaging other black female rappers behind the scenes.”

“Nicki is so obsessed with cardi it’s only making me like cardi more. Like I’m perched for C2…

Nicki is giving twenty levels of peasy black girl with the burnt perm who is jealous of the Spanish girl that just moved down the block.

Anyone who grew up in the hood knows this type of social phenomenon all too well

1st off – cardi is not ugly, and even if she was her actual energy that she emits is 10x more light and positive than whatever this b*tch is giving off.

Ain’t you trini sis? Where are your chickpea doubles?

Nicki needs a strawberry nutriment TWO ducolax a f*cking nap

The energy is giving : constipation, regret, low-self-esteem, hood food, grease, drop-top chicken box…

Like highkey these white girls stick the f*ck together… OKAY.

They’re trying to make sure they stay rich and dominate and make the space prime for their daughters, even if they cannot stand one another in real life these white girls really protect their space in pop-culture hard.

A smart Nicki would have done the cardi, doja, Megan collabs smiled in their faces while safaree worked on her album in the background then came through and dominated.

Without showing the world how desperately you’ve relied on tokenism and sabotaging other black female rappers behind the scenes

Like it was an eassssssssy plan but no…

Nicki Minaj Still Not Happy With YouTube After They Lift Age Restrictions On New Music Video

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj was recently furious at YouTube for putting age restrictions on her new music video. Apparently, the complaining […]

Why Are Cardi B And Rapper Akbar V Beefing On Twitter?

Rap fans logging into Twitter this week have been confronted with trending topics including Cardi B and Akbar V and might be confused to learn that the two rappers have been beefing for the past 24 hours. For one thing, who is Akbar V? Why does she have a problem with Cardi B? And what does Nicki Minaj have to do with all this? Here’s a quick primer to help you get up-to-date.

Who Is Akbar V?

For the uninitiated, Akbar V is, like Cardi B, a rapper with an origin rooted in the Love & Hip-Hop universe. Hailing from Atlanta, this 33-year-old rapper has had a rough childhood but has been using the exposure from the show to slowly build an audience for her music to turn her life around. She currently has a little under 18,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and a little over 50,000 subscribers on YouTube. While none of her songs has yet broken the million-streams mark on any platform, she recently received a big look when Nicki Minaj tapped her to appear on the “Super Freaky Girl” “Queen Mix” alongside JT of City Girls, BIA, Katie Got Bandz, and Maliibu Miitch.

Why Is Akbar V Beefing With Cardi B?

Over the weekend, Cardi received a ton of attention for featuring on buzzing Memphis rapper GloRilla’s new song “Tomorrow 2.” While the song had plenty of fans, it’s also found its detractors — one of whom is Akbar V. The Atlanta rapper tweeted, “If @chartdata ain’t say it we ain’t believing the CAP,” referring to the song’s hype and the popular account that aggregates album song performance listings from DSPs and Billboard‘s charts. It seemed to some — including Cardi — that the tweet was meant to shade the supposed success of “Tomorrow 2,” since the track had been released in close proximity to “Super Freaky Girl.”

After catching wind of the tweet, Cardi made a few comments of her own. “Count all the times chart data posted u,” she wrote. “I don’t really like the internet games… My dms is open and also the streets!” Cardi apparently reached out to Akbar privately to inquire about the tweet, but Akbar clearly didn’t feel like settling the matter behind the scenes. In a string of tweets of her own, she complained that someone “gave this ho Cardi B my number” and shared a screenshot of their text exchange, accusing Cardi of threatening her.

Akbar then went on a long tirade, proclaiming her fealty to Nicki Minaj — with whom Cardi has had a long history of friction — denouncing Cardi’s success. “@NICKIMINAJ is the #QueenOfRap and @iamcardib u are the peasant ho ..” she wrote. When Cardi made a pointed comment about taking care of her kids — a shot at Akbar, who has five children of her own — things escalated into full-blown conflict. When Akbar replied, “U was in the strip clubs i was in the streets ..how is it any difference… you still talking but bringing my kids into it,” Cardi let her have it, contrasting their situations. “I won’t put my kids in the same hoods I was I raised in let alone ABANDONED THEM ..u had that choice to make as well not once but FIVE TIMES,” she wrote.

The back-and-forth continued with a slew of responses from Akbar, to which Cardi replied by sharing a video from Akbar’s leaked sex tape. “Now my kids got to watch this again @iamcardib u dead wrong for uploading that porn stuff about me again u scoop so low but kool,” the Atlanta rapper replied. “U just threw me back into anxiety.” Cardi deleted the tweet, but later retweeted a notice from a fan that Akbar had used a screenshot from the video as a single cover on DSPs. “WAIT A DAMN MINUTE…she lied to me?” Cardi wondered.

The two rappers continued to trade insults into the evening, with Akbar accusing Cardi of having her husband Offset call her to and daring Cardi to take it to the street. Cardi exasperatedly predicted the next steps: “Let’s guess the next step …a diss track that’s going to be mass bought on iTunes and going to chart on twitter… I should of never argue with this deadbeat , I should of just left it at this.”

They might still be going, but at some point, Akbar’s Twitter account was suspended for unknown reasons. Incidentally, it’s not the first time her account was suspended. Meanwhile, Cardi B has gone back to promoting “Tomorrow 2,” while Nicki Minaj, the apparent motivation behind the whole Twitter spat, went back to promoting her own new video for “Likkle Miss (Remix)” featuring Skeng after going off on YouTube for age-restricting it.

Akbar V’s Twitter Account Was Suspended After Her Argument With Cardi B

It looks like one of the contestants in yesterday’s (September 26) Twitter feud was forced to bow out. Cardi B and Atlanta rapper Akbar V were the trending topics of the day after what started as a subtweet turned into an explosive argument. Insults were traded, sex tapes were posted, and now, Akbar V’s account has apparently been suspended, although it’s unclear why or whether it was voluntary.

The two rappers spent an hour or so on Monday going back and forth, culminating in Akbar crying foul after Cardi posted an explicit video of her on the timeline. However, after Cardi had deleted the video in response to Akbar’s protests, fans in the comments pointed out that Akbar herself had already capitalized on the tape, using a still from it as a single cover (to be clear, this doesn’t make Cardi less wrong). It’s a whole mess, but it looks like Akbar won’t be able to continue the beef — at least, not on Twitter — for a while.

In some fans’ views, Akbar was lashing out at Cardi as a proxy for Nicki Minaj, with whom Cardi had another well-publicized feud a few years ago and Akbar recently collaborated. Interestingly, while all this was going on, Nicki was beefing with YouTube for age-restricting her booty-filled new video for “Likkle Miss” featuring Skeng.

Nicki Minaj Thinks Her New Video Was Age-Restricted On YouTube To Stop Her From Getting Views

Nicki Minaj isn’t happy about her new video for “Likkle Miss (Remix)” featuring Skeng being age-restricted on YouTube. In fact, she’s so unhappy that she’s convinced it’s a conspiracy against her to keep her from getting views on it (and receiving coveted ad revenue), masterminded by execs at another label. Despite the “Likkle Miss” video featuring copious close-ups of gyrating posteriors, she insists that there are videos “a million f*cking times worse” on YouTube, positing that YouTube’s executives are in cahoots with a rival record label to stop her bag.

She laid out her case in a pair of Instagram posts showing a screenshot of the notice of age restriction on YouTube.

Imagine this. They restricted my fucking video but have things a million fucking times worse on their BOGUS FKNG PLATFORM. this is what they do to keep you from winning while doing ads for other ppl and posting FAKE FKNG STATS. 😂😂😂😂😂 because the same ppl who run YouTube are in bed with a certain record label and mngmnt company. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 GO SUCK OUT YA MUDDA BIG PUM PUM. LYOR IT BETTER NOT BE YOU.

This was done to stop us from getting a lot of views in the first 24 hours. The DUDS at my label allow ppl to use my videos all the time to promote weak shit but said we can’t buy promo for my videos. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 @youtube @youtubemusic it’s time y’all tell ppl that you’re in bed with a whole RECORD LABEL & MNGMNT COMPANY!!!!! HOW LONG HAVE YALL BEEN PLAYING THE NUMBERS GAME TO LIE & PRETEND PPL R DOING “GOOD” WHEN THEY R NOT?!?!! HOW MUCH AD SPACE DID THESE DUDS PURCHASE TO BE PROMOTED ON MY CHANNEL IN THE LAST 5 YEARS?!??!!!

This isn’t the first time that Ms. Minaj has made a case about industry malfeasance. In 2018, after she was disappointed by the success of her album Queen, she launched a multimedia tirade against partners such as Spotify, accusing them of blackballing her. In any event, the video for “Likkle Miss” is out now and you can watch it here.

Nicki Minaj And Dancehall Artist Skeng Are Rolls-Royce Stuntin’ In Their ‘Likkle Miss (Remix)’ Video

Nicki Minaj is on the run competing with none one other 2010 Minaj, at the height of her Young Money reign. She’s fresh off the stage from headlining Rolling Loud New York, hosting the VMAs and receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award that evening, a woman rapper empowerment moment on “Super Freaky Girl (Remix),” a feature verse on Bleu’s “Love In The Way,” and now she’s back again on Skeng’s “Likkle Miss (Remix).”

Skeng is dominating the dancehall scene following his breakthrough hits “Gvnman Shift” and “London.” Teaming up with Minaj this time around seems to be a match made in heaven, as Minaj is known to patois-bar tracks up on charting dancehall records like on Skillibeng’s “Crocodile Teeth (Remix).”

The Barbie shared a clip of her listening to Skeng’s hit last month while revealing she was in the process of writing her verse for the collaboration. “Likkle Miss (Remix)” originally appeared on Minaj’s Queen Radio: Volume 1 compilation album of songs we’ve heard before and a few added gems.

The vibrant visual includes a gang of bountifully endowed women in fishnet tights and shorts twerkin’ on Skeng, alternating between scenes of Minaj and women sitting pretty in a Rolls-Royce and Minaj and Skeng posted in the back seat.

Watch the video above but beware while watching, the Andre “DreVinci” Jones-directed video might make you want to get up and (attempt to) shake ya stuff, too.

Cardi B Trades Insults (And Leaked Videos) With Nicki Minaj Collaborator Akbar V

While the feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj has cooled down since they sent footwear flying in 2018, it looks like Cardi now has a beef brewing with Akbar V, an up-and-coming rapper who received Nicki’s co-sign via the “Super Freaky Girl” remix. Like Cardi, Akbar V came up through an installment of the reality show Love & Hip-Hop, and like Cardi, she isn’t afraid to mix it up with rivals on public platforms like Twitter. However, their Twitter feud has now escalated, with Cardi sharing what appears to be a leaked sex tape of Akbar’s.

While it’s always a little hard to tell where these things get started, it appears that Akbar felt disrespected by one of Cardi’s recent tweets. After Cardi asserted, “I take care of kids ..since the day they came out my p*ssy,” Akbar took it personally. The Atlanta rapper quoted Cardi’s tweet, adding her own two cents. “You was able to baby,” she wrote. “u … i wasn’t but i got all of mine now …see the difference between me and u i was really in that jungle t hugging with real n$$$as….u forgot u had kids when u got some money ?… u was just selling it to any man that ran up on u cricket teeth..”

Akbar continued badmouthing Cardi on her timeline until Cardi started quote-tweeting her, reminding both rappers’ followers, “I came from The Bronx ..Highbridge to be exact ….clearly ain’t forget since I’m wasting my time arguing with you.” She also posted a video, allegedly of Akbar getting beaten up by another Atlanta native, as well as another… shall we say, less kosher one. Cardi deleted the video when Akbar wrote “u dead wrong for that uploading that porn stuff about me again u scoop so low but kool,” but seemed appalled to learn that the Atlanta rapper had used a still from the video for a single cover.

Meanwhile, Nicki, who appeared to have conveniently logged in just in time for the fireworks to promote her own new single, “Likkle Miss (Remix)” with dancehall artist Skeng, switched strategies midstream, instead prompting fans to tweet the #QueenMix hashtag and retweeting fans’ praise of Akbar V. Whether her intention was to defuse the situation or stoke the fire, it’s clear that fans are still choosing sides and goading the mess instead of realizing that they could just as easily stream both “Super Freaky Girl” and “Tomorrow 2.” Sadly, the patriarchy wins again.

Nicki Minaj Brings Out G Herbo, Bia, Fivio Foreign, And Lil Uzi Vert During Her Rolling Loud New York Performance

Nicki Minaj‘s headlining set at Rolling Loud New York was a celebration of her hits, both old and new. Over the course of her career, spanning over 15 years, Minaj has become a force in hip-hop with her several solo hits and her iconic collaborations.

Reuniting with her “Super Freaky Girl (Queen Mix)” collaborator, Bia, the two performed the remix of Bia’s breakthrough hit, “Whole Lotta Money.”

During the night, Minaj was also joined by Lil Uzi Vert, as they performed their remix of Uzi’s 2017 hit, “The Way Life Goes,” which contains a prominent sample of “Landslide” by Oh Wonder.

Earlier this year, Minaj dropped a series of collaborations, including one with Fivio Foreign called “We Go Up.” Fivio joined Minaj on stage tonight for a performance of the New York drill track.

One of Minaj’s most famous underground collaborations is 2014’s “Chiraq,” which featured a then-unknown G Herbo. Herbo surprised the audience tonight as he joined Minaj on stage to perform “Chiraq.”

Also during the night, Minaj performed some of her mixtape classics, like “Itty Bitty Piggy” from her 2009 mixtape, Beam Me Up, Scotty.. She also performed an acapella rendition of fan-favorite “Moment 4 Life” from her debut album, Pink Friday.

In clips shared by fans, Nicki is seen performing to an energetic audience, the members of which appear to know all the words to the songs in Minaj’s massive catalog.
