Eminem Makes History With Impressive Billboard 200 Milestone

It’s been a busy few months for Eminem. In July, the hitmaker unleashed his twelfth studio album, The Death Of Slim Shady. The concept album was mostly well-received by listeners, and he has even more on the way. Earlier this week, he dropped a trailer for the deluxe edition of the project, labeled the Expanded Mourner’s Edition.

It’s expected to include various bonus tracks, and one of them is rumored to feature production by The Alchemist, who appeared in the teaser. Eminem’s new and upcoming work isn’t the only material gaining recognition these days, however. According to Billboard, he’s celebrating yet another exciting milestone.

The outlet reports that his 2005 best-of compilation, Curtain Call: The Hits, has spent over 700 weeks on the Billboard 200. He hit the 700 mark last week, moving roughly 8,000 album equivalent units. The album is only the sixth in history to do so, and the first rap album ever. Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Journey, Metallica, and Creedence Clearwater Revival have reached the milestone in the past.

HipHopDX attributes the compilation’s success to a loophole, as Billboard‘s rules state that a song appearing on more than one album has to be assigned to one. This is determined by whichever album sells the most that week. Since the compilation contains several of Em’s early hits, they’re often attributed to it, adding to its overall tally. Pharrell Williams Directly Deals With PETA Protestor At Private Screening Of “Piece By Piece”

Pharrell Williams is rolling out the red carpet for his upcoming LEGO biopic, Piece By Piece. The film is going to officially hit theaters on October 11, meaning we are one month away on the dot. To build some extra anticipation for the animated motion picture, the multi-hyphenate held a private screening for it. However, as Pharrell Williams was winding things down, a PETA protestor briefly interrupted the event, according to Uproxx. The woman actually was able to get onto the stage, sign and all. Speaking of which, the message was, “Pharrell: Stop Killing Animals For Fashion”. Most likely, this relates to his involvement with the French luxury apparel brand, Louis Vuitton.

He does hold a high position with the iconic company, as he is the Men’s Creative Director. Throughout the PETA supporter’s appearance both on the stage and off it, she repeatedly said, “Stop torturing animals!”. In a scenario like this, there’s high probability that a lot of people would escalate the situation further by yelling and scolding her. But Pharrell was extremely mature and graceful during the entire face-to-face interaction. “I know, you’re right”, and “I’m working on it”, he replied in a cool manner.

He even said “God bless you” and encouraged the audience to repeat that and clap for the woman. Eventually, she was taken away by security and afterwards, Pharrell decided to address the now elephant in the room. “Let me address that. You know, Rome wasn’t made in a day, and sometimes when you have plans to change things and situations, you have to get in a position of power and of influence, where you can change people’s minds progression”, he began. “That’s not necessarily the way to do it, and sitting in my position, when I have conversations on behalf of organizations like that, unbeknownst to them, they come out here and do themselves a disservice”. He then concluded with, “That’s okay: When that change comes, everybody in this room, will remember that I told you we’re actually working on that, and if she would have just asked me, I would have told her. But instead, she wanted to repeat herself”.

The crowd the clapped for how the multi-talent handled everything. However, PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman was not as forgiving. She issued a statement following this protest, saying, “We would be happy to stop disrupting Pharrell’s appearances but despite a lot of lip service, he’s yet to ditch fur and exotic skins. Pharrell can decide in a heartbeat, today, to use his power for good and stop being complicit in cruelty — it’s quite easy to be kind”. Shannon Sharpe is currently the most talked about man on social media right now after a livestream that went down on his Instagram account. Just moments ago, Sharpe went live on IG and thousands of fans tuned in thinking that he had something to say. Instead, all you heard were the moans of a woman, while the phone remained face-up on what appeared to be a nightstand. Nothing could be seen in the video, however, the audio was clear as day and it was easy to understand what was happening.

Eventually, clips of the Instagram livestream began circulating on Twitter. The video lasted for about five minutes before it eventually got turned off. Overall, this is anyone’s worst nightmare. Something similar happened to Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray back in the day. However, Sharpe is not taking responsibility for what went down. Instead, he took to his Instagram story moments after the video went up. It was here where he blamed the live stream on a hacker.

It will be interesting to see how the internet reacts to that explanation. Whenever people blame things on a hacker, there is usually some sort of skepticism. However, you cannot just assume that someone is lying. You have to give that person the benefit of the doubt and take them at face value, especially since it’s almost impossible to know what really happened here. On Monday, September 9, actor and singer Tyrese was arrested for being “in willful contempt for failure to make child support payments”. The judge, as well as his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, were commanding exactly $10,690 and “illegally” so in his eyes. The money is supposed to being going to their five-year-old daughter Soraya. Tyrese has repeated time and time again that he wants to be a father to his kids; however, he feels this entire battle in court has been one-sided. According to Bossip, he feels that a lot of this falls on the judge that was overseeing this case.

Tyrese went after Kevin M Farmer in his Instagram post two days ago just moments before his Atlanta court appearance Monday morning. Now, he’s continuing to call out Mr. Farmer after the arrest on X. “Getting arrested wasn’t fun as a matter of fact it was very traumatic…. In addition to the arrest, Tyrese was ordered to pay a healthy figure to be released from jail. $73,500 was ordered to be paid to the Fulton County officials. However, his attorney, Tanya Mitchell Graham, filed an appeal of Mr. Farmer’s ruling. He is currently not in custody as of Monday.

Yungeen Ace Is “Elated” Over Foolio’s Death, DJ Akademiks Theorizes

In June of this year, Jacksonville rapper Foolio passed away at the age of 26. Reportedly, he was shot multiple times in the parking lot of a Tampa hotel where he was celebrating his birthday. The tragic loss continues to have the hip-hop community in mourning, but according to DJ Akademiks, not everyone is upset by it.

During a recent interview with VladTV, Ak explained why he believes Foolio’s longtime enemy Yungeen Ace is actually happy about his death. “I think he kept a poker face on when I asked him how’s he feel about the passing of Foolio, he’s like ‘Nah, it’s f*cked up.’ But is that really his demeanor? He’s probably elated,” he said.

DJ Akademiks On Foolio’s Murder

“Think about it,” Ak continued. “He passed away in a car like he heard his brother take his last breath… Foolio made that into a hit song laughing about it.” DJ Akademiks is far from the only one with this theory, however. Just hours after Foolio’s death was confirmed, Yungeen Ace dropped what many believe to be a diss track called “Do It.” Shortly after this, an anonymous man went viral on social media for claiming to have pulled the trigger. In a clip that made its rounds online, he alleged that he shot Foolio because Yungeen Ace put $10K on his head.

“I be in Jacksonville heavy,” the man said. “If you know, you know. I handled that because Ace had that money on his head, Ace had them put that $10K up.
