UFC Fighter Colby Covington Slams Drake After He Bets Against Him

Colby Covington has some fighting words for Drake.

The UFC fighter is calling out the 6 God after he bet $275,000 that Covington would lose his grudge match against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272 on Saturday night (March 5). Drake placed a bet for 7 Bitcoin, which equals roughly $275,000, via the online betting platform Stakes.

But it didn’t go in his favor and Covington ended up winning the fight in a one-sided decision. In the post-fight press conference, the UFC champ made sure to trash talk the OVO rapper.

“Let’s talk about all the money that Drake lost tonight,” Covington said. “He needs to go back to, you know, selling those shitty albums to get back the money. He should have went to America’s Pick of the Week by [betting website] mybookie. I tried to give the people the pick of the week. I’m America’s champ, and I was America’s pick of the week.”

He continued to slam him, adding, “Drake, you suck at sports betting. Go back to your shitty little albums and rapping.”

While he may have taken an L this time, Drake won over $1 million in Bitcoin after betting on the Los Angeles Rams to beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI last month.

Drake has been spending a lot of time gambling online. He recently announced a partnership with crypto betting platform Stake, which will allow fans to win money and play alongside him during upcoming livestreams.

Mary J. Blige Announces ‘Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit’

Mary J. Blige is bringing women together with her “Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit.”

Presented by Pepsi in partnership with Live Nation Urban, the inaugural three-day festival will take place in Atlanta over Mother’s Day weekend from May 6-8 with an all-star lineup of female comics and artists.

The festivities kick off Friday with performances from Kiana Ledè, Emotional Oranges, Rubi Rose, Inayah, and MK XYZ.

Saturday’s lineup at State Farm Arena includes Chaka Khan, City Girls, Ella Mai, Xscape, Queen Naija, and the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul herself, who will be joined by some special guests.

It caps off with a Mother’s Day brunch at City Winery, with performances from Kierra Sheard and Le’Andria Johnson.

“The idea for the festival came to us after early listening sessions of my latest album with my family and friends and women in the industry,” said Blige. “Each time, the people in the room would share a story, oftentimes of heartbreak or pain, but they always ended with joy and love and how their girlfriends or mom or sister helped them find their voice and strength. We felt like after two years of being inside and having to endure so much, that this was the type of experience that people, especially women, deserved.”

The festival comes on the heels of Mary’s performance with Dr. Dre at the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. Last month, she also released her 15th studio album Good Morning Gorgeous.

Tickets go on sale March 10 at 10 a.m. ET, with a pre-sale starting March 8 at 10 a.m. ET.

Kanye West Defends Violent ‘Eazy’ Video as Art

Kanye West is responding to the criticism surrounding his “Eazy” video.

On Sunday, the rapper shared a message in defense of the disturbing visual featuring The Game in which he kidnaps and buries a claymation version of Pete Davidson. According to Ye, his “art” has healing powers and is protected by his First Amendment rights.

“Art is therapy just like this view. Art is protected as freedom of speech,” he wrote on Instagram. “Art inspires and simplifies the world. Art is not a proxy for any ill or harm.”

He also shut down the notion that he intended to cause harm with his violent portrayal of Kim Kardasian’s boyfriend. “Any suggestion otherwise about my art is false and mal intended,” he added.

Ye depicts Davidson’s murder in the “Eazy” video, which ends with a message: “Everyone lived happily ever after. Except Skete.” He also threatens to “beat Pete Davidson’s ass” in the lyrics.

While Ye has received backlash on social media, Davidson is seemingly not concerned. In fact, he apparently finds humor in Ye’s latest jab.

“He finds the fact that Kanye included a cartoon version of him in his music video hysterical,” a source tells “Entertainment Tonight.” “He is almost flattered by it all because it is so ridiculous to him.”

The source adds that Ye “is not threatened by Kanye in any way, shape or form.”

Ye’s ongoing attacks have reportedly brought Pete and Kim closer together. “He’s using this to grow in more ways than one, including for himself and his relationship with Kim,” the source continued. “He is turning all of the negativity into a positive thing.”
