Nicki Minaj Enlists Cardi B’s Rival Bia For “Gag City Reloaded” Tour

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have a long history of not getting along, and fans suspect that the former’s latest announcement arrived alongside some subtle shade. Yesterday, Nicki took to X to unveil dates for the second leg of her Pink Friday 2 tour, which she’s dubbed “Gag City Reloaded.” It begins in September and will run into November, and the Barbz can’t wait. She also revealed who will be joining her on the tour, Skillibeng, Tyga, and Bia.

“#GagCityReloaded will be a beautiful, magical dream come true,” she wrote. “Better than the 1st half & that wasn’t easy to do. New looks, set list changes, other secrets, ummmm new music? Lemme think about it. Thank you to the team doing this with me again. They’re simply the best. To the guest artists who will come out in their cities, thank you in advance; and to these 3 TALENTS (who I have so much love & respect for) for taking the G6 to #GAGCITY just for the Barbz & me. @tyga @bia @skillibeng. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!”

Of course, Bia has her own history of feuding with Cardi, which reached a peak earlier this year. Bia put Cardi on blast for threatening to sue her over cheating accusations and later dropped a diss track about the “Enough” rapper. On it, she continued to accuse Cardi of infidelity, tore apart her overall persona, and even name-dropped her kids. As far as fans know, a lawsuit was never filed, though Cardi later teased what might have been a response which has yet to be released.

NBA YoungBoy Reportedly Faces 10 Years In Prison For Federal Gun Charge

It’s no secret that NBA YoungBoy has dealt with his fair share of legal issues in recent months. Earlier this year, he was arrested at his Utah home for his role in an alleged prescription drug fraud scheme. At the time, he was already on house arrest, awaiting trial for a federal weapons charge. This charge stems from a 2020 music video shoot in his hometown of Baton Rouge, where police allegedly found him in possession of a 9 mm handgun and a .45-caliber Glock. He’s considered a felon, and barred from possessing guns, due to a 2016 shootout.

Now, according to WAFB, he intends to enter a guilty plea in his federal gun case and have it transferred from Baton Rouge to Utah. Reportedly, YB’s attorney Drew Findling filed the paperwork on his behalf earlier this week. He’s likely requesting the transfer for convenience, as he’s facing various charges in both Cache County and Weber County.

NBA YoungBoy Intends To Enter Guilty Plea

Once the case is transferred to Utah, YB must continue with the guilty plea, per the outlet. If he doesn’t, the case will be moved back to Louisiana. Reportedly, he could potentially face up to 10 years behind bars, as well as fines, and a period of supervised release. Of course, it remains to be seen exactly what happens in YoungBoy’s case, which could end up working out more favorably for the 24-year-old.

News of his expected guilty plea also arrives just days after Chief Judge Shelly Dick agreed to postpone the case. This would allow higher courts to weigh in on it and provide guidance for applying federal gun laws to it. What do you think of NBA YoungBoy reportedly intending to enter a guilty plea in his federal weapons case? What about the rapper potentially facing a 10-year prison sentence for his alleged crimes? L.A. Reid’s Motion to Dismiss Sexual Assault Case Denied by New York Judge

LA Reid

Music executive L.A. Reid’s attempt to dismiss a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him by former Arista Records employee Drew Dixon has been denied. On Tuesday, August 13, Judge Valerie Caproni of the Southern District of New York ruled that Dixon’s lawsuit against Reid would proceed, rejecting his motions to dismiss several of the claims.

Dixon, who worked at Arista Records under Reid’s leadership around 20 years ago, accused the veteran music executive of sexually assaulting her twice during her tenure at the label. Her lawsuit alleges sexual battery and assault, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and a violation of the New York City Gender Motivated Violence Act.

Reid sought to have the case dismissed on several grounds, including the statute of limitations and issues related to the venue where the case was filed. However, Judge Caproni found that the claims of false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress were not barred by the statute of limitations under the New York Adult Survivors Act. This Act, which was passed in 2022, allows survivors of sexual assault to file lawsuits even if the statutory period for such claims has expired.

The judge also ruled that the events described in Dixon’s complaint had a substantial connection to the Southern District of New York, affirming that the venue where the lawsuit was filed was appropriate.

Drew Dixon’s lawsuit brings to light allegations that have lingered in the shadows of the music industry for decades. Her claims against L.A. Reid, one of the most influential figures in the business, have drawn significant attention, particularly in light of the broader #MeToo movement that has swept through various industries, including entertainment.

Dixon has been vocal about her experiences with sexual harassment and assault within the music industry. Her allegations against Reid are part of a larger narrative that she has shared publicly, detailing the challenges and trauma she faced while working in the male-dominated music business.

The case now moves forward, as Judge Caproni’s ruling ensures that Dixon’s claims will be heard in court. This development marks a significant moment in the ongoing conversation about accountability and justice within the music industry, as high-profile figures like Reid are increasingly being called to answer for past actions.

Reid, who has had a storied career in the music industry, founding LaFace Records and leading major labels like Arista Records and Epic Records, has not publicly commented on the lawsuit following this latest ruling. As the case progresses, it is likely to continue drawing attention to issues of sexual harassment and assault in the workplace.
