Big Boi Is Furious After A Woman Mistakes Him & Sleepy Brown For “Migrants” While On Tour

As two of the best Atlanta-based artists of the past 35 years or so, it’s hard to not know who Big Boi and Sleepy Brown are. They’re currently on tour with Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and a recent interaction in California had André 3000’s enduring partner feeling very confused. “We’re on the tour bus in Cali right…” he tweeted on Tuesday (September 3). “we stopped for breakfast… why this lady ask sleepy brown  ‘Are ya’ll migrants being dropped off ‘ …Bish What ?” We can’t explain why this woman characterized these Dungeon Family members as that, but we can’t imagine that such a comment landed particularly well with either musician.

Elsewhere, Big Boi is reflecting on this Dungeon history by recently mourning the loss of one of its pillars: Rico Wade. “This is a different type of hurt ….” he wrote in an Instagram tribute post to the producer and curator that was so instrumental to the collective’s sound, success, and story. “Slick Ricky Wade .. I know you’re with us STILL … in a bigger role now… Big Angel Energy… the Highest of Vibrations … Praise Yah .#RicoWade #DungeonFamily #WeDF.”

Big Boi Can’t Believe A Woman Thought He & Sleepy Brown Were “Migrants”

As far as other Outkast news, André 3000 and Big Boi recently sued the EDM duo ATLiens for copyright infringement due to their name’s use of a term the rap duo coined on their 1996 album. “Defendant also advertises, offers for sale and sells products to consumers in this state and in this District though its interactive website, including merchandise bearing the ATLIENS mark,” the lawsuit reportedly reads. “The word ATLIENS was invented by Outkast. Before Outkast created it, it [did not exist] in the cultural lexicon.”

Meanwhile, if you were hoping for a reunion album… Well, you probably already know the answer. “People ask, ‘So, will there be another Outkast album?’” André 3000 recently posited. “I really can’t say, man. I do realize that our chemistries have changed. We’re different people. We’re totally different people. Not to say that we won’t be able to make any kind of music, but I think, yeah, people have to realize, like, even in relationships, man… chemistry should change after a while. And I think people think there’s this one thing that has to stay a way, but we are ever-changing, man. You know, people always ask about me and Big Boi. We cool, man. That’s my homie forever. We were friends before doing music.”

Barack Obama’s Half-Brother Malik Has The Internet In A Frenzy Following Donald Trump Endorsement

Barack Obama is one of the most beloved figures in the history of American politics. While he certainly has his critics, there is no doubt that there are plenty of folks who love Obama to this day. However, there is one person who is quite vocal about his distaste for the former president. That person just so happens to be his half-brother, Malik Obama. Malik Obama has been a social media figure for years at this point and rose to prominence in 2016 thanks to his support for Donald Trump.

At the time, Malik Obama’s fame was quite insular. You had to be deep into the online political sphere to even know he existed. Overall, he was a fringe figure with very little influence. While the latter part may still be true, it appears as though more people are becoming acquainted with Malik. This is because he has been going all in on his Trump support as of late, his tweets are going mainstream, and now, plenty of reactions are coming down the pipeline.

In the Instagram post above from The Shade Room, you can see what many have to say about the Malik Obama situation. Overall, they find it to be completely and utterly ridiculous. “I was today years old when I discovered that Malik Obama existed,” one person wrote. “Obama must have told him No when he asked for something lol,” said another. Others noted that Malik Obama doesn’t even live in the United States, and currently resides in Kenya. Whether he supports Trump or not, he most likely won’t even be voting.

Let us know what you think about this situation, in the comments section down below. With the election taking place in two months, who do you believe is going to win? Cardi B Claps Back At Fans’ Criticisms Of Her Calling Herself “Light-Skinned”

Cardi B is always responding to narratives around her online, whether it concerns her new album or an inappropriate setting for a maternity shoot. Regardless, she will always combat misconceptions and criticisms of her with the same fire, as well as with the will to improve and admit her wrongs when necessary. But in this case, the Bronx femcee doesn’t understand the hate. Moreover, a lot of fans started a debate around whether or not she has the right to call herself “light-skinned” as the daughter of a Dominican father and Trinidadian mother. Cardi quickly dismissed these assumptions, defending her self-identification and explaining why it’s valid.

“Who tf told Cardi B she’s light skin? That term is used for lighter complexion black folks but y’all got everybody claiming it now,” one fan posited. “Dominicans are so diverse when it comes to skin color,” she clapped back. “Dark ,brown ,tan, light ,white ….sooo what am I supposed to say when I’m describing my complexion…Im Dominican skin ?” “idk maybe y’all need to come up with yall own terms.. ‘light skinned’ is used to describe BLACK people. Not whites, Dominicans, Mexicans, Asians… BLACKS!! You can’t just use the word to mean whatever you want it to mean chica,” another fan suggested.

Cardi B Defends Her “Light-Skinned” Identity

“what you saying is automatically invalid,” Cardi B responded. “The fact that you use whites … WHITES IS A COLOR AND A RACE ..DOMINICANS ARE A NATIONALITY WITH PEOPLE that are different COLORS AND SHADES ..NOT A RACE … Get your glitter hole out of here wit this fake rule you just came up wit.” “The term light skin is adjective to describe skin complexion…” she shared in another tweet. “It is not exclusive to a single race …l guess Jamaicans and Haitians and West Indians can’t say they got brown skin ,light skin or dark skin because just like Dominicans they are also a nationality..now move JAWS.”

Meanwhile, Cardi B shared some exciting news with fans recently that has nothing to do with Twitter clap-backs. “Album still sellin like good quality p***y,” she responded to news of her selling over 500,000 album units in the United States. “….OKAY OKAY let me stop playing and drop this second album.”

Pusha T Explains How Kanye West Took “Follow God” Away From Clipse

Pusha T and Kanye West have a very complicated relationship, and one that isn’t very amicable right now. Still, that doesn’t mean that they can’t look back on their extensive history, even if some of these reflections indicate more contentious moments. For example, Push and his brother No Malice spoke to Rolling Stone ahead of their upcoming reunion album as Clipse. During this conversation, they recalled pulling up to Wyoming in the late 2010s to work with Ye on his upcoming material, which included a self-titled 2018 album, Pusha’s own solo LP, and the Chicago artist’s 2019 project Jesus Is King.

Furthermore, this was the first time that Clipse worked together in almost ten years, but according to Pusha T, it was frustrating. Kanye West would allegedly “nix” Pusha’s ideas, but there was a lot of back-and-forth inspiration. One instance was when he and No Malice recorded over the “Follow God” beat, a song that eventually became a solo cut on Jesus Is King. “He gave us the beat. Forgot about the beat. We working on the records,” Pusha explained. “We laid [vocals] to it,” NM recalled. “Kanye was like, ‘I need that back,’” the “Nosetalgia” spitter added.

Of course, we all know that Clipse eventually reunited on Jesus Is King‘s “Use This Gospel” alongside Kanye West and Kenny G. As for their next moves, Pusha T and No Malice are just waiting on one feature for their new album Let God Sort Em Out before it drops later this year. “I’m so excited about this new Clipse album,” Push told the Ghetto Runways podcast recently. “That’s what I’m on right now. It’s absolutely finished. Just waiting on a feature. Just waiting on a feature, bro, just one feature.”

Meanwhile, Pusha T recently explained why Kanye West still collaborates a lot despite his volatile and bigoted ways as of late. “I believe that there’s a level of visibility that comes along with being next to somebody like Ye,” he told Complex. “At the end of the day, it’s a level of musicality and genius-level production that comes along with being next to him. So you get a lot of things that I think artists are looking for these days in being next to him. It’s all about the music for me and just making music at a certain level. I’ve been in this game a long time, so it’s about a certain type of hip-hop that I want to make. And truthfully, Ye definitely knows what I like to make, and I only want to be a part of things that I want to do.”

Diddy Accuser’s Lawyer Responds To His Legal Team’s “Disturbing” Motion To Dismiss

The legal battle between Diddy and his accusers rages on. Its latest development concerns accuser April Lampros, who claims he committed sexual assault on at least four separate occasions as well as battery, infliction of emotional distress, and gender-motivated violence. According to court documents reportedly obtained by AllHipHop, her legal team responded to Sean Combs’ team’s motion to dismiss with a contesting move on Monday (September 2). Specifically, Lampros’ lawyer Tyrone Blackburn motioned to add new allegations to her complaint and to remove the claims of emotional distress against Sony Music and other parties.

“At this time, the plaintiff seeks leave of the court to amend its complaint to withdraw the negligent infliction of emotional distress claim against corporate defendants and to add additional facts to remedy the issues in the pleading identified by the defendants in their respective motions to dismiss,” Blackburn stated. Furthermore, it seems like this motion seeks to shift focus from corporate defendants’ alleged infliction of emotional distress. Instead, it wants to highlight how Diddy and his team’s assessment of Lampros’ attorney is an allegedly misleading one.

For those unaware, Diddy’s team motioned to dismiss due in part to Blackburn’s alleged lack of credibility. These claims include accusations of pressuring settlements and filing improper cases for the sake of media attention. In response, Lampros’ lawyer claimed that the Bad Boy mogul’s team developed a “sick obsession” with him that became “disturbing” after initially being “flattering.” “[Combs and Bad Boy Records’] counsels attach themselves to a single sentence of an opinion of an unrelated case to try and classify the plaintiff’s pleading as ‘salacious’ or meritless with the sole intent of forcing defendants to ‘settle,’” Blackburn wrote.

“For starters, plaintiff never requested a settlement from defendants [Diddy] and [Bad Boy Records],” he continued. “The plaintiff intends to hold [Diddy] and [Bad Boy] accountable for their actions before a jury of their peers. Secondly, although this writer picks his clients, he does not pick their facts. If [Diddy] had not engaged in salacious criminal behavior, this writer would not have had anything salacious to file. [Diddy’s] counsels should spend their time teaching him lessons he clearly missed growing up as a child: 1. No means no, and 2. men should never put their hands (or feet) on women.” Blackburn also represents another accuser of Combs’, Lil Rod. In addition to this case, there are also multiple others.
