03 Greedo Completes His Promised Hat Trick With Soundcloud Exclusive “2025: The Streetz Is Over Wiit”

03 Greedo believes in himself wholeheartedly 100% of the time. On Christmas Day, the Watts, California rapper and singer announced that he would be giving back to his fans before year’s end. It all began with Album Inna Day, a project entirely produced by Blame It On Monstah. The project boasted 11 songs. Then, just three days later, 03 Greedo would drop off ALL I EVER WANTED IS A BANKROLL. It was another rapper/producer tape, with Tyler Hooks helming the production.

That brings us to 2025: THE STREETZ IS OVER WIIT, which completes this hat trick. He got in just before the ball dropped and it’s the longest of this trio. It features a sweep of producers such as Turbo, Ron-Ron The Producer, and more. The features are also plentiful with Babyfxce E, Dc2trill, RX Peso, among some of them. While this is certainly impressive to be witnessing, this isn’t anything new for 03 Greedo. He’s been this prolific for years, so it probably feels like clockwork to him. Across this Soundcloud-only tape, you are getting Greedo’s one-of-a-kind auto-tuned rapping over dark and melodic beats. Check it out for yourself below.

Kamaiyah Has A Wavy & Chill Vibe With “Kaori”

Kamaiyah always carries a bubbly and free-spirited personality with her wherever she goes. The California rapper and singer has used this to her advantage over the course of her nearly decade-long career. It’s led to a lot of underrated hits and some big features such as “Why You Always Hatin?” and more. The way she’s pretty effortlessly able to craft catchy raps with laid-back and sometimes comedic deliveries is admirable. This allows her to work in many different tonal settings, such as a more chill hip-hop space. That’s the aesthetic Kamaiyah went for on her most recent EP, Alternative Space. It’s her fourth project of 2024 and it arrives just in time with 2025 around the corner.

It follows up on her more self-reflective Figuring Out My Emotions, Before We Party, and then November’s Ms Everything. While this is certainly a lot of music, Kamaiyah has been keeping busy elsewhere. She dropped an accompanying documentary for Ms Everything on Christmas, and it seems that this eagerness to create is carrying into 2025. “Ms Everything Documentary dropping on Christmas and a new project Friday. Who working hard as me? 2025 we coming alive 🤍” she wrote. Hopefully we get an album in the coming months, but let’s redirect our focus to Alternative Space. One reason why we love this tape is due to the instrumental palette she’s presenting on it. It lives up to its name with wavy and darker productions, two ways we would describe maybe our favorite cut, “Kaori.” Kamaiyah brings this speedy and confident flow to the song and it’s helping us fall in love with it even more. She what she was able to deliver below.

Elucid Drops By With A Sci-Fi Like Listening Experience “Interference Pattern”

Elucid (E L U C I D) is one of hip-hop’s mad scientists, if you will. The underground New York fixture is always playing around with various sounds and textures, distortions and more and it’s become his MO at this point. The other half of Armand Hammer has had a pretty busy 2024, dropping off two projects and a multitude of singles along the way. Him and billy woods struck in late February with We Buy Diabetic Test Strips, which included features from equally wild MCs like JPEGMAFIA and Pink Siifu. Then, in the early moments of October, that’s when Elucid would make his solo return with REVELATOR. It’s another fantastic LP that saw him get philosophical and speak on societal issues.

It’s got a lot of industrial and noise hop elements, adding to its confrontational and chaotic tone. Now, Elucid is closing out his year with a release for the hardcore fans out there who crave a little more. Over the weekend, he shared what he’s titling “INTERFERENCE PATTERN.” It’s one 41-minute-long track/album that has numerous phases. It’s probably more of the latter due to that explanation as it contains rapping, pure instrumentals, voice recordings, and messy sound effects. But it’s a messy in an interesting and thought-provoking way. If you want to check it out, you have to head over to his Bandcamp to give it a whirl. While it’s got elements of his last endeavor, we feel this leans into more of sci-fi/fantasy epic. Its ideas feel jumbled so it’s a difficult to determine where Elucid is going with it. But it’s worth a shot and it’s a cool way to end of 2024.

NLE Choppa Experiments With R&B On “Picasso: Sluffin SZN X Slut SZN”

A lot of people have not been liking the direction that NLE Choppa has been going in as of late. His “SLUT ME OUT” singles series is a big reason why due to its overtly sexual and vulgar lyricism. The Memphis MC came up as a rough, aggressive, and hungry act. However, this drastic switch up has left folks divided, uncertain, and upset. But NLE Choppa has been very vocal about this, and he’s looking to continue to explore and experiment.

That’s what he’s doing on his brand-new project, PICASSO: SLUFFIN SZN X SLUT SZN. This is a follow-up to his SLUT SZN tape from a couple of months ago. However, he’s included the tracks from that offering and combined it with the SLUFFIN SZN recordings. In a way, it’s a double LP. Throughout the lead-up to it, Choppa has been comparing himself a lot to Michael Jackson. He obviously was a very versatile pop/R&B hitmaker, and that’s sort of what the youngster is doing here. Guests like Carey Washington, Summer Walker, Yung Bleu, and T-Pain help solidify this album’s more sensual direction in addition to the beats which pluck from subgenres like sexy drill. It’s a unique body of work from Choppa, so check it out below.

Boldy James Links With Detroit Producer Whothehelliscarlo For “Hidden In Plain Sight” Tape

There aren’t many like Boldy James right now. The cutthroat Detroit rapper has been just that toward his competition all year long, dropping single after project after feature. He’s for sure one of the most consistent and hard-working MCs in the game and the depth of his catalog alone proves that. It’s become that much more expansive in 2024, as he put out now five projects and a whole bunch of loosies and collabs. This week, we are going to focus on the bodies of work, because he’s here with a new one, Hidden in Plain Sight.

Like 80 percent of his endeavors over this 12-month span, Bo is collaborating with a producer from start to finish. So far, he’s teamed up with Canadian beat maker Nicholas Craven for Penalty of Leadership. Boldy James then tapped in with Conductor Williams in June for Across The Tracks. Following that would be the November link-up with Harry Fraud called The Bricktionary. All of those efforts we just listed are over 10 tracks, but Hidden in Plain Sight is under that mark. It stands at seven cuts and is a breezy 18 minutes. Also differentiating this tape from the others is the producer. Meet whothehelliscarlo, also a Detroit native who doesn’t have as much standing in hip-hop as the others Boldy’s worked with. But he’s been developing some chemistry with a lot of the acts from Motown like 42 Dugg, Zelooperz, and more. Now, he’s getting a chance with one of the stalwarts from his hometown. See what they cooked up below.

Valee Enters Surf Gang’s Sonic World On Collaborative “Grey Sky London” EP

It’s been a SURF GANG takeover in 2024 and it’s not stopping even with just a few weeks remaining. The underground hip-hop label founded by producer evilgiane in 2018 has officially taken off. “The Hillbillies” track with Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem seemed to be what catapulted the collective. But overall, it’s been their unique cloud, emo, internet, and trap rap sounds that have been the catalyst in this. More mainstream acts like 03 Greedo and Maxo Kream have hopped into their soundscape. But they have been making their money with names like Nettspend, Slimesito, xaviersobased, and more.

Valee can now be added to the expansive list thanks to his new EP. Grey Sky London is a five-song collection between him and the label’s producers. Eera, evilgiane, and Harrison are joined by NIKETECH, Ccured and they have all created a woozy and subdued landscape for Valee. Leading up its release, they dropped “Why Not.” It’s quickly become fan favorite, racking up tens of thousands of streams on Spotify. Overall, this whole EP seems to take after the title, Grey Sky London. Typically, the popular tourist spot if gloomy, so they appeared to have shot for that aesthetic. Also, it looks like Valee and Surf Gang were recording the project there based on some IG posts. Overall, it’s a tape that doesn’t overstay its welcome. Moreover, Valee delivers some solid rapping performances to tie it all together. So, with that said, check it out below.

Czarface Creates A New Hip-Hop Trio With Kool Keith With Their Debut “Everybody Eats!”

CZARFACE is shifting around some pieces for this latest project, Everybody Eats! This is 7L, Esoteric, and Inspectah Deck’s 14th release, however, this one doesn’t include one of the members. The Wu-Tung Clan member is the odd man out in this case. Some of you may disappointed to learn that, however, the “replacement” is not one to sneeze at. Kool Keith, another underground legend hailing from The Bronx, steps in to fill some big shoes. But given his stature in the game, 7L and Esoteric don’t miss a beat with him in the fold. We say “replacement” though for Keith because he’s actually joining the CZARFACE family to an extent.

He’s here to help create a secondary rap group called Stress Eater, hence the title, Everybody Eats! So, in a way, this is a debut project of sorts. If you aren’t familiar with Keith’s work, him being a part of a hip-hop posse is nothing new. In fact, he’s been a founder during his 40 plus year career. Back in the 1980s, he formed Ultramagnetic MC’s. Ced Gee, DJ Moe Love, and TR Love are his compatriots, and they are still going today. They last released music back in 2023, but they were much more active in the 90s and 80s. Their last full-length, The Best Kept Secret, dropped in 2007. Listening to Everybody Eats! and seeing the reception it’s gotten so far, Stress Eater could become another successful venture for Esoteric, 7L, and Kool Keith.

Roy Woods Crafted “Rolling Stone” Made For One Purpose Only

“This is some of the best music I’ve ever made in my life!! Rolling Stone dropping December 6th… This is just the beginning.” These are words direct from the source of this project’s creator, Roy Woods. Most may remember him for his “Drama” collaboration with his OVO boss, Drake. We wouldn’t blame you if that’s what you mostly associate himself with, as the 2015 Exis cut has over 520 million streams. But don’t think that’s all he’s good for. The Brampton, Ontario native has been holding his own for nearly decade. He may not be a household name, but he’s got one heck of a passionate fan base.

Since they got their hands on the lead single for Rolling Stone, “Hold Still,” back in late October, they have been psyched for what was to come. Well, that is this brief, seven-song tape/EP. Based on his quote at the beginning though, there seems to be a bigger project in the works behind the scenes. For now, let’s focus on what’s in front of us. Rolling Stone is the first body of work since his July 2023 album Mixed Emotions. That featured the likes of Jada Kingdom, Coi Leray, and Vory. On this abbreviated listen, which clocks in at just 20 minutes, Roy is able to stick to one consistent theme. That is music made for the bedroom, and it succeeds at its job. He’s got some great vocal displays across it, especially on the closer with 03 Greedo. Check it out below.

Lil Tjay Brings On Some Huge Guests For Small Tape “Farewell”

After singles galore, Lil Tjay is treating fans with a gift for their “troubles.” It’s a new project titled Farewell, and it’s following up on 2023’s 222. It’s nowhere near as long, as this one spans just eight tracks and is a scant 22 minutes. Where it shares similarities though is that it feels and sounds like an abbreviated version of past LPs. The melodic crooner and rapper details his past, struggles, his hunger to get to the top, while presenting these topics with emotive performances as well.

Some of the singles that were dispersed this year make it onto Farewell, including “Let it Go Baby,” “Told Ya,” and “Good Life.” We began reading into the possibility that Tjay was going to drop a project sometime soon thanks to “Let it Go Baby,” ironically. On the track, he raps, “Been a minute, I ain’t been droppin’, time to go crazy.” Well, that prediction turned out to come true and we have to say we want all the credit. Jokes aside though, Tjay is sounding solid over a majority of the cuts, although, there are some mixing missteps, especially on “Long Way From the Block.” Despite his vocals being too low in the mix, it’s still an enjoyable listen, though. Tjay dropping shorter projects could be a recipe for success because we feel it’s one of his stronger bodies of work. It may feel like a bridge to something bigger, but we firmly believe that he’s got one with Farewell.

Jace! Delivers His Fifteenth Project Of 2024 With “Curation 4”

Jace! cites his main inspirations as Chief Keef and Summrs, among FBG Duck, and more. We can definitely see why he looks up to them because all of their discographies are quite massive just like his. However, when we listen to Curation 4, the latest offering from Jace!, we hear quite a bit of Lil Uzi Vert as well. His vocal inflections and some of the dreamy and wavy productions sound like some of the Philadelphia MC’s earlier material. You will see a lot of “Jace” coverage on our site already. However, this our first time covering “Jace!” from Fort Worth, Texas. The 21-year-old rapper, who used to go by TGE Duwap, has been making waves in the underground for a few years.

He does have a few big hits though, including “20 Min,” “Gostyle 2023 Freestyle,” “556 (Green Tip),” among others. These three alone have nearly 100 million streams combined. Jace! isn’t just a spitter though. He also produces, is an audio engineer, a guitarist, as well as a streamer. As we said, his influences are some of the more prolific names in the game, and he has some work with a handful of them. Summrs is perhaps his most notable collaborator, as according to his Genius page, they used to be close friends. Curation 4 is out everywhere now, and it’s his 15th project released overall this year! Check it out below and see what you think.
