Joey Bada$$’s “Raising Kanan” Character Departs From The Show, Says Goodbye To Crew

One of the most popular shows within the hip-hop community is Power. That is the longstanding show run by New York rap legend, 50 Cent. Recently, the spin-off Power Book III: Raising Kanan, has been getting new episodes. Unfortunately, fans of the program will surely be let down after seeing that a fan-favorite character did not make it. That would be Kadeem “Unique” Mathis, played by another New York great, Joey Bada$$.

His acting was a bright spot while he was on screen from seasons one, two, and three. But, that run has come to an end for Joey. According to HipHopDX, Joey had a chat with PEOPLE about the way things played out for his character. “I think a lot of people are going to be a little letdown. It’s like, ‘What the f***? He’s dead?’ It is not even the end of the season! It’s the f*****g middle of the season!”

It was an honor and pleasure. 🫡” Fans were devastated and some high-profile rappers gave him his flowers. Project Pat said, “Killed that role.” J. Drake Pens Farewell Message To Toronto Before Tour

It’s shaping up to be a wild summer for artist tours, with Drake and 21 Savage leading the way with their collaborative It’s All A Blur trek. Before kicking it off in Memphis, Tennessee in the United States on June 29th, though, Drizzy wanted to say goodbye to his home city of Toronto. After all, it’s his first North American tour since his 2018 journey with the Migos. While his latest Instagram Story didn’t make it clear why he was leaving a bit over two weeks before the tour starts, it did feature some heartfelt words towards the 6ix. In addition, a gorgeous picture of the city’s CN Tower, famously featured on the cover of his 2016 album Views.

“Goodbye my beautiful city,” Drake penned on IG on Monday (June 12). “I haven’t left for this reason in over 6 years but I hope I can make you proud once again. I love you all. Have an amazing summer and pls try to take care of each other. See you in October.” On the 5th and 7th of that month, he will close the tour out in Toronto, unfortunately without 21.

Drake’s Goodbye To Toronto (For Now)

However, even though these next few months will surely have him busy, Drake is still gearing up some heat in the studio, apparently. As if having one of the most commercially successful albums of 2022 wasn’t enough, the Canadian superstar seems to be tapping old friends back. He posted a picture of him and frequent collaborator Sampha on his Instagram Story. Furthermore, the two have a proven track record of great songs such as “Too Much,” “The Motion,” and Sampha’s solo (vocal) track on Drake’s More Life project, “4422.”

Meanwhile, Drizzy continued stacking up his list of dynamic duos since then, whether in the musical or romantic sense. For example, he seemed to confirm dating rumors with Lilah via Instagram as well, although that could just be chalked up to loving language and not an actual relationship confirmation. On the other hand, his bromance with Lil Yachty remains as strong as ever. For more news and the latest updates on Drake, keep checking in with HNHH.
