Blac Youngsta Seemingly Releases A Tribute Album To His Late Brother With “Blac Sheep 2”

Memphis rapper Blac Youngsta is currently going through an extremely tough time in his life. He is still grieving the loss of his late brother Tomanuel Benson a few weeks ago. Tomanuel was reportedly shot by a man named Randy Ewing according to the Memphis Police Department at a gas station. It is still not official that it was Ewing, but he is the main suspect. Additionally, authorities still brought forth charges of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Even with a lot going on in Youngsta’s life, he is still in the headspace to release new material. That is why he just put out his sequel to his second 2023 project Blac Sheep. Blac Sheep 2 comes just four months later and contains 15 tracks, equaling a runtime of 42 minutes and 26 seconds. There are also no features here, just like the first Blac Sheep. However, there is more sentiment on this record, as quite a few tracks reference the recent tragic event of his lost brother.

Listen To Blac Sheep 2 By Blac Youngsta

For example, the closing song “Too Far” features Youngsta talking about moving carefully but also dangerously. In the outro to the track, he says, “Keep your motherf****n’ head down, keep your head up n**** no matter what goin’ on.” He continues, “Be careful out here / Stay dangerous and be safe at the same time / Be smart move wise Blac Sheep.” This seems to be a reference to the Instagram story he shared moments after the passing, “I’m Gone Make The World Pay. I Swear To God Nobody Safe. Standing Over Everybody. Everybody #4LIFE. Gone Make Sure They Feel Me I Promise.” It is not confirmed that this is partially a tribute to his family member, but with messages on tracks like this one, it is hard to deny that he was inspired to write some lyrics about it.

Roc Marciano & The Alchemist Deliver Deluxe Of “The Elephant Man’s Bones”

Last year, Roc Marciano and The Alchemist collaborated for one of 2022’s best rap albums: The Elephant Man’s Bones. For the lyrically-minded and for fans of abstract production, this project filled pretty much every niche and desire. In addition, the duo bolstered it with excellent features from Boldy James, Action Bronson, Ice-T, and Knowledge The Pirate. However, they weren’t quite done with it just yet, and they realized that there’s more to share from his fitting, chemistry-filled, and creative team-up. With two new bonus tracks, the underground legends graced us with The ALC Edition of this album, fitting for a 2023 revamp.

Furthermore, now’s the perfect time to tune into Roc Marciano’s latest if you missed it last year. These new bonus tracks represent everything that made The Elephant Man’s Bones such a compelling LP, and The Alchemist doesn’t slouch in the slightest. “DNA” opens with a menacing bassline and string arrangement, providing fertile ground for the New York MC to stomp on with vivid and twisted hunger. Conversely, the dreamy synth pads and chill, perky rhythms on “Turkey Wings” offer Marciano’s verses a more nostalgic and laidback context.

ASAP Rocky Fans Disappointed After Thinking New Album Would Drop In August

At the beginning of August, ASAP Rocky seemingly hinted at the drop of his new album, Don’t Be Dumb, with a simple Tweet. “AWGEST,” the Tweet read. Listeners have yet to hear a new full-length offering from him since 2018’s TESTING, so this was a pretty exciting teaser. AWGE is the name of Rocky’s creative agency, and him combining the word with August made many think the album would be released last month. September has arrived, however, and ASAP Rocky has yet to release it.

Some social media users suspected early on that rumors of the drop were cap, but regardless, fans were waiting for something big. Now, unfortunately, many are left confused and disappointed. “He stay lying,” one user wrote underneath his Tweet. Another simply commented a crying emoji. Though ASAP Rocky didn’t unveil his highly-anticipated album this month, Rihanna did just have a child, so he could have his hands full.

Fans Now Confused About “AWGEST” Tweet

ASAP Rocky and Rihanna have one other child together, RZA. Following the birth of baby number two, an insider claimed that “Rihanna feels her family is now complete.” The reveal of the child’s name should be coming soon, and it’s said to stay true to their family theme of “R” names.

In July, ASAP Rocky sat down with Complex, revealing some of the producers who’ve worked on Don’t Be Dumb. “We got Pharrell Williams, we got Dean Blunt, we got Metro Boomin,” he began. “I don’t want to leave people out. We got Hitkidd, we got Tyler, The Creator, myself, Madlib, The Alchemist. We also got Mike Dean, Swedish House Mafia, and I don’t want to give too much away.” He also shared that he centers his life around family these days, a stark contrast to what he’s know for. “It’s honestly about being true to yourself and me being true to me,” he explained. “I’m really just cooling with my lady and my little man and all that, that’s just it.” Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on ASAP Rocky.

Meek Mill Teases “Championships” Sequel

Meek has also recently shifted his focus to social justice causes. Recently, he’s spoken publicly about the ways that the rap industry encourages dangerous behavior to increase profit. Doja Cat Updates Her Album Cover

This isn’t the only time artwork has led to controversy for Doja Cat recently. The art for her upcoming new single “Demons” came under fire by many fans claiming that it was demonic or satanic. When Doja hit back she didn’t mince words. She compared fans who had issues with her artwork to those who couldn’t even handle Goosebumps.

Doja Cat also doesn’t have the level of fan support she used to. That’s because she picked a fight against her own fanbase over their “kittenz” label. She refused to back down repeatedly calling out fans online and ultimately resulting in her losing over 250k followers. Despite the large exodus of some of her most diehard fans, she didn’t seem very bothered. In an interview following the affair, she described the whole experience as freeing. Doja Cat is giving out all the goods on her forthcoming album release. The 27-year-old rapper and singer is finally set to drop her fourth studio album, Scarlet on September 22. We are still unsure about how many tracks or features are going to make the project, but this is still exciting news. Doja has been dropping a lot of updates during this LP’s rollout. Just yesterday, August 29, she posted to her Instagram to show off the cover art for her new single, which will drop on Friday, September 1 with the title being “Demons.”

Before that, on August 27 Doja teased us with a sneak peek of the music video for “Demons” as well. Of course, fans have also been enjoying what appears to be a single for the album, “Paint The Town Red,” for nearly a full month. That song is almost up to 100 million streams. Looking at the cover, it is very simplistic but it certainly looks cool. A reddish-tinged creepy-crawly is the center of attention, with a little drop of blood above it. The background is a solid white, adding a nice color contrast. Doja Cat is fully committed to this devilish persona, and it will hopefully translate to the production, song themes, and message of the album too. Furthermore, if you go to her account on any music streaming service, all of her album covers are now red, which is a cool little way to promote this renaissance. It is safe to say we cannot wait for Scarlet to arrive.
