One of the most anticipated albums of the year is right around the corner and fans think Kanye West could try and compete. After an entire summer of teasing, Drake’s For All The Dogs is almost here. Earlier this year he released the song “Search & Rescue” which debuted at number 2 on the Hot 100. He did even better with his next single “Slime You Out.” For the track, he recruited SZA for their first-ever collaboration. Fans rewarded them by sending the song straight to the top of the charts. With its debut at number one, SZA became the first artist of 2023 to reach the top spot on the Hot 100 with two different songs.

Overnight Drake dropped yet another tease towards the album with “8AM In Charlotte.” It featured an elaborate music video and introduction by his son Adonis whose drawing will serve as the album’s artwork. Despite a lack of any real evidence, Kanye West fans think that he might be cooking something. Many people think that certain lyrics in “8AM In Charlotte” were intended as a Kanye diss, which would reignite years-old beef between the pair. Some online believe that the best way West could hit back would be by surprise releasing a new album on the same day as Drake’s. Check out some fan theories below.

Miguel Announces First New Album In Six Years, Shares New Video

R&B fans rejoice, Miguel’s highly anticipated 5th album is on the way. After a prolific streak in the 2010’s dropping 4 albums from 2010 to 2017 the California-based singer has been quiet for a while. Now the critically acclaimed hook artist and collaborator is returning with a new album later this year. While it doesn’t have an official release date yet, it just got a lead single and an accompanying music video.

The track is called “Give It To Me” and the fittingly moody music video has already racked up more than 11k views in less than a day. The track has a sensual energy to it with the lyrics “‘Cause I like what you got Would you give it to me I like what you got I like Imagining everything it could be,” coming on the hook. He also confirmed that the new album would officially be called Viscera. That came after he first announced that new music was on the way back in August with a gnarly stunt. Miguel Teases “Viscera” With New Single

Despite having not released an album in 6 years, Miguel hasn’t been quiet musically. He appeared as a feature on a pair of songs back in August with some high profile artists. The first came alongside Lil Yachty when the duo linked up for the song “Number 9.” Just a week later he collaborated with Jessie Reyez for another sensual anthem called “JEANS.”

Miguel has released two EPs since his last album as well. First came Te Lo Dije in 2019 which was his first Spanish language project. He followed that up with Art Dealer Chic 4 in 2021. Kanye West Gets Emotional Playing New Album At Italian Listening Party: Report

Kanye West reportedly premiered a new album at a listening party in Italy, over the weekend, according to The Sun. A source for the outlet says Ye “yelled and appeared out-of-sorts” while previewing the new music. It will mark his first album since Donda 2 as well as the first since making various antisemitic comments in 2022.

“At times, Ye seemed to have fun, but at other points he looked completely out-of-whack while playing it,” the outlet reported. Ty Dolla Sign, who appears to have a collaboration with West on the effort, was in attendance. Ye’s wife, Bianca Censori, on the other hand, was not. No further details on the project have been announced.

News of the listening party comes amid numerous leaks out of Kanye’s camp over the weekend. Many of them stem from an unreleased documentary filmed back in 2018. In clips from the piece, Ye targets both Pusha T and Nas for not being appreciative enough of his work on their albums Daytona and Nasir. Moreover, Ye also targeted Cardi B for being an “Illuminati plant.” At one point in the documentary, Kanye even speaks candidly about his relationship with Kim Kardashian. “I feel like my wife does believe in me, but she has a tendency to focus on the negative,” he said. “And she’ll call me ‘crazy’ and say ‘you’re ramped up’ more than she’ll say ‘you’re a genius.’ Like I get ‘you’re crazy’ a lot more than ‘you’re a genius.’ And it’s from this person that has an opening in my heart. Oliver Tree Gets Vulnerable On New Album “Alone In A Crowd”

Oliver Tree has returned with another LP, Alone In A Crowd. The new project follows his 2022 album, Cowboy Tears. Back in June, the 30-year-old performer gave listeners a taste of what was to come with “Bounce.” The romantic track is accompanied by an expectedly bizarre music video, directed by the Santa Cruz native himself.

He dropped off three more singles ahead of the release, “One & Only,” “Essence” feat. Super Computer, and “Fairweather Friends.” Each one is joined by a similarly surreal visual, and they’ve all already managed to rack up millions of views on YouTube alone.

Oliver Tree – “Fairweather Friends”

Listeners hear Oliver Tree embracing a variety of different flavors on his latest project, opening up on laid back tracks like “Highlight Of My Life,” while tapping elements of hip hop on songs such as “Fairweather Friends.” He explores themes of love, heartbreak, and feeling like an outcast on Alone In A Crowd, recruiting the help of Super Computer and Robin Schulz.

At the end of September, Oliver Tree spoke to NPR about the new release, revealing that the project was built around a fictional character he created, “Cornelius Cummings.” He explained that he drew inspiration from his whirlwind success, pulling themes of alienation from his own lived experiences. “I became incredibly lonely,” he said of his hasty rise to fame. “I felt isolated, Rapunzel-ed (ph). Cleo Sol Strikes “Gold” On Her New Album

If you’re an R&B or soul fan in any capacity, you’re a criminal awaiting prison time if you’re sleeping on Cleo Sol. Maybe it’s not that serious, but with the way her 2023 has been shaping up so far, it will definitely be true in a couple of weeks. Moreover, the London singer just released her second album of the year so far with Gold, and it’s a lean 10-track effort. Following up her last LP Heaven, which came out just two weeks ago as of writing this article, she’s absolutely dominated the month. What’s more is that the Ladbroke Grove native’s done so with tender, crisp, and obviously soulful genre fusions that establish her as a captivating voice.

For example, cuts like “Things Will Get Better” gain an extra punch thanks to the softly sharp and jazzy drums. One thing that you can always count on when you’re going through Gold, though, is the 33-year-old’s beautiful vocals, which are as effectively sultry as they can be triumphantly soaring. However, on the signing end, this isn’t the only highlight to remark, as the background contributions also create a heavenly atmosphere. Furthermore, the opening track “There Will Be No Crying” is an excellent example of this, as the gospel fusions come across as healing. Other tracks are more sparse without losing their power, such as the constantly leading piano on “Please Don’t End It All.”

Meanwhile, the “Woman” songwriter, whose work with Little Simz garnered her much acclaim, seems defiantly hopeful on the lyrical front. Gold shimmers on almost all fronts, and with Cleo Sol’s discography increasing rapidly in just two weeks, we can patiently wait for the next one at her own pace while digging into the great work she already presented. Rome Streetz Adds Fifth Title In “Noise Kandy” Series

Just a few days ago we covered Rome Streetz’s single with Joey Bada$$ called “Fire At Ya Idle Mind.” The duo was extremely formidable with both lyrical talents showing off their tremendous pen games. This was just a small taste of what was to come for Streetz’s next effort. That comes in the form of Noise Kandy 5, which, of course, is the fifth and most recent installment in the series. A few rappers, as most of you know, have a halo series of projects of sorts like Lil Wayne with Tha Carter.

Well, for Rome this is his signifying series of tapes, which began back on August 3, 2018. According to UndergroundHipHopBlog, this is the London-born rapper’s last mixtape in the Noise Kandy saga. SCY Jimm Is Feeling “Highly Favored” On His Second Album Of 2023

While SCY Jimm has plenty of music to check out on all DSPs HNHH has not had the chance to cover him too often. We first covered the Bunnell, Florida rapper a few weeks ago on a single with another rapper who is also getting a lot of attention right now. “Ain’t Original” saw him and the eccentric BLP Kosher team up for a single with plenty of personality and energy. Both have their own respective and signature sounds already, giving them a leg up on the rest of the new faces to rap.

The ROOKIE OF THE YEAR already has a project out for this year with Trench Baby. That record came out back on April 14 and it was purely a solo project. For a rapper who is just trying to make a name for themselves, tackling a full LP with no features is a daunting task, but he managed to do it. Jimm is riding this wave with Highly Favored.

Maxo Delivers His Second LP Of The Year With “Debbie’s Son”

One of the rappers who is doing it a bit differently from the rest of Los Angeles talents is Maxo. Born In 1995, Maximillian Allen, is specifically from Ladera Heights, California, according to his Genius annotation. As a few rappers have, their first true passion was sports. The same rang true for Maxo, as he was really into playing basketball growing up. However, that all changed for him when his brother, who used to go by Sharp, got him into making music.

He does not rap anymore, but it had a lasting impact on Maxo. Things began to pick up career-wise in 2015 when he put out his first-ever project, After Hours. The EP was released under an Alaskan cassette label called Burnt Tapes. After gaining some momentum off of that release, he then hopped over to another label called LOVETURL. There, he put out his second release, SMILE, three years later.

He then joined Def Jam Records in 2019. His big turning point, Maxo capitalized right away putting out LIL BIG MAN. To this day, he remains on the label and he has a new listen for his fans. Debbie’s Son comes after his release from earlier this year, Even God Has A Sense Of Humor. Maxo specializes in more lo-fi soundscapes compared to the more bouncy and modern productions coming out of the West Coast. His profound lyrics are also another key identifier for him and he is taking this philosophy as far as he can.

“A lot of people tell me I should put my pain, my struggle, in my music,” Cardi began. “A lot of my pain, or struggles, or whatever the crap is going on, the masses might not be able to relate. The masses might not be able to relate. Like it’s like, oh my gosh, they’re tearing a new asshole on Twitter on me because I said this, this, and that.”

Gunna Shows Love To Fans Blasting His Music In Traffic

Gunna has been on a roll over these past few months. Overall, his album A Gift & A Curse has proven to be one of the biggest hits of the entire year. Although some decided to boycott the artist due to Young Thug’s situation, others have thrown their support behind him. At the end of the day, his project was simply too good to ignore. There were tons of amazing tracks throughout, and there were also some viral hits that are still getting lots of plays.

Some albums tend to suffer from a scenario in which they seem to be doing well on the charts, but no one is actually playing the songs in real life. Well, this phenomenon is not the case when it comes to Gunna. Instead, it seems like people in real life are enjoying the project quite a bit. In fact, the artist actually caught a group of individuals rocking out to his album, in their car. In the video below, you can see exactly what we mean.

Ultimately, it seemed like everyone involved was having a very good time.
