Drake will be making two appearances on Camila Cabello‘s upcoming album, C,XOXO, she revealed in a new interview with Billboard. Speaking about the collaboration, she reflected on working on the music during a trip to Turks & Caicos with the Toronto rapper. Footage of the two riding jet skis together during the trip previously went viral on social media, leading to speculation that they were dating.
“He’s the f*cking GOAT, so it felt like shooting for the stars,” she said, recalling how she messaged him on Instagram. “I showed him the album when I felt comfortable enough and he really liked it. [The feature] came out of a nontransactional place. He had this idea of a song called ‘Hot Uptown,’ and it just felt like I was in the city. I was in Miami.” She added: “He wanted to do one more thing for the album. Why does he have his own song? Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album … I love that for me — it’s like that rebellious mood. Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his sh*t.”
Cabello previously discussed the trip with Drake during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, as noted by AllHipHop. “I love him so much and I really listened to him a lot during my writing process for my album,” she said at the time. “And I really felt like he would like my album.”
Drake & Camila Cabello Vacation In Turks & Caicos
Cabello has been promoting the new album for several months at this point. Other collaborators on it include Playboi Carti, Lil Nas X, and the City Girls. It’s releasing on June 28. Be on the lookout for further updates on Camila Cabello and Drake on HotNewHipHop.
LA Lakers star LeBron James perfectly lipsyncs Gunna’s “One of Wun,” which was released early in May, while driving. James was grooving out to the tune and enjoying himself like he always does with the music he likes. The four-time NBA champion is known for jamming to music that he doesn’t always understand the lyrics to. He often looks like he is rapping along but does not know the words to songs. Fans love it so much it has become a meme. LeBron surprisingly knew every word while he was vibing to Gunna’s latest single.
“IM due for win,” LeBron James wrote in his Instagram story. With 20 tracks, Gunna just released “One of Wun,” his fifth studio album. He finished the album and worked on a few of the tracks alongside Offset and Roddy Rich. Since 2019, the 30-year-old rapper has been involved in the music business, dropping hit records. Gunna’s new album was officially published, and LeBron James listened to one of the tracks right away.
LeBron James shared his admiration for Gunna’s music with no reservations. The Lakers player immediately uploaded a video of himself listening to a song off the YSL artist’s new album after it was dropped. LeBorn was recently caught vibing out to Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss “Like That” while he was warming up for his playoff game against the Denver Nuggets. James ended with 40 points, six rebounds, and seven assists after the game. He contributed to the Lakers’ victory by going 9–10 from outside the arc after being videoed jamming to the diss track. The song’s producer, Metro Boomin, saw it and put James’s statistics up on Twitter. “Bro was warming up to Like That then went 9/10 from 3 and 13/17 for 40 points,” Metro Boomin said on Twitter.
LeBron is in off-season mode. His Lakers were defeated in the first round of the NBA Playoffs by the Denver Nuggets. LeBron has been supporting his oldest son, Bronny, as he undergoes his draft process. The Lakers are still the most likely landing spot for Bronny James. LeBron has also been doing his podcast with his presumed next coach, JJ Redick. Overall, LeBron is having fun this offseason while supporting his family and making some major moves.
Kanye West being controversial is absolutely nothing new. Since 2022 West has made numerous public statements seen as antisemitic, for which he was widely condemned and lost numerous business partnerships. Before that he was controversial among many rappers and rap fans for his endorsement of Donald Trump and his MAGA movement. But according to Charlamagne Tha God, the backlash has finally reached the point where fans no longer even care about the music underneath.
In particular, Charlamagne discussed West inserting himself into the biggest rap beef of the year. While Kendrick Lamar and Drake absolutely stole the show, there were many people involved in the beef. J. Cole, Rick Ross, Metro Boomin, Future, and even The Weeknd were among those to contribute in one way or another. Kanye West also made an attempt to enter the beef, though many don’t even seem to remember. He took to Instagram and Twitter to bring up times he claims he “washed” both Kendrick and Drake. He also took particular interest in attacking J. Cole. But according to Charlamagne, people just don’t care about West’s involvement anymore. Check out what he had to say about it below.
Charlamagne has never by shy about expressing his opinions and that was the same with his comments on Kanye in 2024. “if Kanye would’ve done this 10 years ago” he says in reference to West trying to join the Kendrick and Drake beef. “Its like OH SH*T…. nobody gives a f*ck about Kanye rapping in 2024,” he concluded. Charlamagne has been pretty outspoken on the beef that’s occupied the minds of rap fans all year. He even mapped out a way that he thinks Drake could still come out on top.
What do you think of Charlamagne Tha God’s comments on people not caring about Kanye West rapping in 2024? Do you agree that the controversy he’s caused in recent years has distracted most people from his actual music? Let us know in the comment section below.
It’s been a little over three years since friends, family, and fans said goodbye to DMX, who passed away at the age of 50 following a drug overdose. His undeniable impact on multiple genres means he’s still celebrated today by those close to him. To ensure that the late hitmaker’s legacy lives on, his estate has now partnered with Artist Legacy Group (ALG), an estate management firm that works to preserve the legacies of late icons.
CEO Ashley Austin shared the news, promising to “ensure that his message and music live on.” According to ALG, they already have various “innovative projects” in the works for DMX. Further details of those projects have yet to be revealed, though it’s safe to say that fans can’t wait.
This is far from the first time supporters will have seen the legacy of DMX celebrated following his passing, however. Last month, Five Finger Death Punch unveiled a deluxe edition of their 2022 album AfterLife, complete with a posthumous feature from DMX. “This Is the Way,” quickly managed to top Hard Rock charts, a first for the late rapper. According to guitarist Zoltan Bathory, he had a DMX collaboration in mind for years, though their schedules never lined up. He told Loudwire that the band eventually got a hold of some of his master recordings, which they fused with their own style to create the song.
The Ruff Ryders Entertainment crew also visited DMX’s grave at Yonkers’ Oakland Cemetery in April, where they honored the late artist by reflecting on some of his most memorable moments. What do you think of DMX’s estate partnering with Artist Legacy Group? Are you looking forward to seeing what kinds of “innovative projects” they’re working on to keep his legacy alive? Earlier this month, security footage showing Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie at a hotel in 2016 surfaced online. In the disturbing footage, the Bad Boy Records founder is seen pulling the songstress to the ground, kicking her, and attempting to drag her back to his room. It appears to corroborate some of the allegations Cassie made against Diddy in her now-settled lawsuit.
Since the footage surfaced, countless social media users and peers have weighed in on it. Most have condemned the mogul for his inexcusable behavior. According to the L.A. D.A.’s Office, however, it’s “beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted.” Regardless, many agree that he deserves serious consequences for his actions, including Dame Dash.
During a recent episode of Choppin It Up on America Nu Network, the Roc-A-Fella co-founder shared his take on the upsetting footage. According to him, the first thing to come to his mind when seeing the footage was his daughters. He says that Diddy’s lucky it wasn’t one of them instead of Cassie he had assaulted, because if it was, jail time would be the least of his concerns. “You know, you can’t unsee that,” Dash began. “It’s really a shame.”
“If that were something I see happened to my daughters, Puff… he’s dead,” he also explained. “I’d go do the time or I’d try to figure out how not to have to go do the time.” Dash continued, “I don’t think I could handle watching any many touching or doing any kind of violence to my daughters.” What do you think of Dame Dash’s take on the 2016 footage of Diddy and Cassie? What about him claiming that Diddy would be “Dead” had he treated one of his daughters that way? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
Seemingly every few days there’s more disparaging news about Diddy. In the past few weeks, he’s dealt with the release of hotel security camera footage that allegedly shows him assaulting Cassie. It’s something she first accused him of in a lawsuit filed last year. Her lawsuit served as the launching point for months of controversy spawning from even more lawsuits filed against the rap mogul in the following months. The most recent came earlier this month and leveled even more allegations of damning sexual behavior against him.
Now he’s receiving yet another piece of bad news. The newest report comes from CNN, who also shared the hotel footage reportedly showing the Cassie assault. They shared an update on the federal government’s investigation into Diddy. The Feds first raided two of his properties in Miami and LA back in March. Back then they confirmed they were investigating allegations of sex trafficking. The new CNN report claims that the federal government acquired surveillance footage of a male sex worker inside Diddy’s home. They also shared that the man claims he was “victimized” by the rap mogul and could end up a witness in any possible indictment against him. Check out the clip of their on-air report below.
It was just earlier this week that a new report in Rolling Stone accused Diddy of assaulting his girlfriend while in college at Howard. His team eventually responded to the claims, calling them unreliable. Real Legal consequences could be coming soon for the rap mogul as a Grand Jury formed in New York earlier this week. TMZ claims they may call for testimony from witnesses as they weigh their next move in the federal investigation of the rapper.
What do you think of Diddy allegedly “victimizing” a male sex worker that the feds claim they can prove was in his home? Do you think the rapper and businessman will ultimately face any consequences from the Feds investigation into him? Let us know in the comment section below.
Drake is one of the biggest superstars in all of music and unsurprisingly that’s resulted in him accumulating an absolutely massive fortune. According to HotNewHipHop‘s most recent estimate he’s likely valued at somewhere around $250 million. That’s among the highest, though not the absolute highest for rappers. It’s no surprise then that dealing with all that money can be complicated and a recent report looked into some of the ways the “Rich Baby Daddy” is going so. A CBC News clip dug into some of the details related to where exactly his financial priorities rest.
In the clip they reveal the surprising amount of business ventures Drake has embarked on over the years and how many are still active. They investigate into the viral claim that he’s involved in more than 20 businesses and what they find is pretty surprising. CBC reportedly uncovered more than 50 different businesses in which the rapper’s assets exist. They conclude that portion of the story by speaking to a financial expert about their findings. The expert reveals that what he’s doing is actually pretty common among those who have amassed quite a bit of money and a pretty good way to protect their assets from potential creditors. Check out the full piece they did on Drizzy’s fortune below.
Drake is still picking up the pieces from his all-in beef with Kendrick Lamar earlier this year. The two exchanged a series of rapid fire diss tracks that elevated to the level of some pretty serious allegations. Drake has continued recording music in the wake of the beef. He dropped a new track with Sexyy Red over the weekend. He also reportedly has a song on the upcoming new Camila Cabello album.
What do you think of CBC News’ discovery that Drake is using 52 LLCs to protect his wealth? Do you think what he’s doing is any different from what many others with his level of wealth do? Let us know in the comment section below.
