Kendrick Lamar Associates Respond To Top5’s Threats: “Come Find Out”

Earlier this week, Top5 was set free after beating a murder case. The Toronto rapper had been behind bars for his alleged involvement in Hashim Omar Hashi’s 2021 shooting. “An innocent man just came home,” he told reporters following the ruling. “I hope they find whoever they did that. R.I.P.”

Top5 proceeded to share a celebratory post on Instagram, in which he thanked those who helped him along the way. This included Drake, who he alleged covered his legal fees. He later deleted any mention of Drake. Top5 also spoke with DJ Akademiks and Adin Ross for one of his first post-prison interviews and had some menacing words for Kendrick Lamar and his friends.

Hitta J3 & Smac Fire Back At Top5

“I’m looking for Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar. I’m doing my homework right now, I’m doing my task on them. Nothing incriminating, I’m just looking for them,” he said. “I want Metro Boomin one on one. I don’t want no weapons, nothing. I’d knock him the f*ck out. Kendrick Lamar, you passed the border. Chubbs called me.” This prompted responses from some of Kendrick’s affiliates, including Hitta J3. “Come find out then,” he wrote simply before sharing a clip that appears to show Top5 getting pushed out of a Toronto restaurant. “This the tuff guy yall talking bout,” he added.

Smac also chimed in on the FMW podcast recently, making it clear that he’s not worried. “F*ck you and Toronto, Top5. You ain’t gotta come find us, we’ll find you, b*tch. I’m on that muthaf*cka. Come to L.A., we’re gonna shut you down, b*tch,” he said. “We’re gonna smack the f*ck out this p***y b*tch. We stand on business. N***a gonna slap him. F*ck him, f*ck Toronto, f*ck Top5, f*ck his sister, f*ck his daughter. He threatening us, it’s all off the table now. Toronto Rapper Top5 Reveals Drake Paid For His Legal Fees After Beating Murder Case

Top5, the Toronto rapper previously co-signed by Drake, is officially a free man after the murder case against him fell apart in court on Monday. Authorities originally arrested him back in 2021 for his alleged involvement in the murder of a 20-year-old accounting student. At the latest hearing, the judge in the case dismissed social media evidence on the basis of it being inadmissible.

According to the Toronto Star, Superior Court Justice Andras Shreck wrote in his decision that it “portrays Mr. Ali as a violent gang member with little regard for human life and who revels in the senseless killing of others. The risk that a jury will misuse this evidence and convict Mr. Ali because of his disposition is significant.”

Speaking about the topic afterward, Top5’s lawyer, Gary Grill, explained the legal prejudice against rap artists. “The problem about prosecuting artists like Mr. Ali [Top5] based on their music; it fails to understand what the medium is, what’s it about, and how drillers approach their audiences,” Grill said, according to CTV News. “It’s important for all drillers to portray themselves as the biggest, baddest gangsters on the planet. That’s what sells. That’s what all drillers are doing. The way that Mr. Ali was charged in the first place was as a result of his lyrics, it was a result of the videos that he was putting out there, as a result of his medium as a drill rap artist that attracted the attention with the police.”

Top5 Shouts Out Drake For The Assist

After leaving the courthouse, Top5 shared a picture of himself on Instagram and revealed that Drake actually covered his legal fees. Shortly after the post began circulating online, he removed that note from the caption. Check out the original version as caught by DJ Akademiks below. Yo Gotti’s Brother Accused Of Allegedly Putting $100K Hit On Young Dolph

Young Dolph’s murder case has been seeing some weird developments since its inception, but things are getting even more odd. Today marks the first day of his murder trial, as just a couple of days ago a jury had been seated. Judge Jennifer Mitchell is overlooking it all the main three suspects are still Justin Johnson, Cornelius Smith, and Hernandez Govan. Leading up to this morning/afternoon, Govan has been constantly painted as the possible head honcho behind the murder of the beloved Memphis rapper.

However, prosecutors are making a shocking accusation against the deceased brother of Dolph’s longtime foe, Yo Gotti. According to an update from The Neighborhood Talk, Big Jook allegedly was the one to put the hit out on the Paper Route Empire boss. This allegation comes from Shelby County Assistant District Attorney Paul Hagerman. Mr. Hagerman claims that Jook put out a $100,000 reward and Justin Johnson, one of the alleged gunmen, was looking to sign to CMG, Gotti’s label. So, to earn respect and that money, he was the one who gunned down Dolph.

“Big Jook, the person I told you about before, the number two guy at CMG, he’s put out a hit, a hit, $100,000 to whoever kills Dolph”, Hagerman said. “He has met with Justin (Johnson). He has met with Cornelius (Smith) and they think they’re ready to do it”. They also claim to have video evidence of Johnson firing at Dolph. Given Dolph and Gotti’s history, this makes things incredibly interesting and certainly makes us wonder if the latter will have come to court. Right now, the trial seems to be still happening. So, be sure to stick with us for any more updates later today.

What are your thoughts on Yo Gotti’s brother being accused of allegedly putting out the hit on Young Dolph? Do you think this will actually be true, why or why not? Young Dolph’s Alleged Murder Organizer Arrested In Separate Case

Hernandez Govan, who has been accused of ordering a hit on Young Dolph in 2021, was arrested and charged with stalking, driving with a suspended license, and having an improperly mounted license tag in Southaven, Mississippi on Sunday. He posted a $2,250 bail and walked out of DeSoto County Jail. He had already been out on a $90,000 bond for the murder case of the late rapper. His two co-defendants in that case, Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith, are still in jail.

“We were apprised of Govan’s arrest on an unrelated preexisting warrant,” a Shelby County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson told FOX 13 Memphis, as caught by AllHipHop. “We are looking into the circumstances. The court will be made aware of the arrest.”

The constant delays in the Dolph case have been tough on his loved ones. Dolph’s longtime partner, Mia Jaye, previously vented about the situation in a lengthy post on social media. “It is truly hurtful that my family was robbed of a future,” she wrote before adding, “My love’s life was taken… and to be left behind to see NO ONE be held accountable in the court of law for the act… is INSANE…. Our family has witnessed lenient bonds being granted, absurd requests approved for the defendants to get a [change of] venue motion, freedom, more time to build a stronger defense… witnessed songs be made, defendants enjoying life while on [house arrest]… all while our loved one is 6feet deep, waiting for JUSTICE to be served… talk about disheartening, unfair, triggering and hurtful.” The two share a son named Trey and a daughter named Aria.

For the latest stalking charge, Govan will appear in court on August 20 while the trial for Dolph’s murder begins in September. Be on the lookout for further updates on Young Dolph on HotNewHipHop.

Jam Master Jay’s Sons Shoot Down Drug Trafficking Narrative Around Father’s Murder

Jam Master Jay’s sons, Maurice and TJ Mizell, are tired of hearing the narrative that their father’s death was the result of his involvement in drug trafficking. They do, however, admit money was likely involved. Appearing on Tuesday night’s episode of CBS News‘ After The Verdict, the two discussed the guilty verdict for Karl Jordan Jr. and Ronald Washington in the murder trial.

“We strongly believe that [the narrative he was selling cocaine] is false,” the pair said, according to HipHopDX. “We believe that obviously there was money involved and whether that was his money or not, it’s not like he was selling drugs. Jam Master Jay was also known for buying cars for everyone on the block on Christmas. When Christmas came around, three people were getting a Toyota, y’know? And we have a big family and we never longed for anything.”

An investigation into the late producer’s death revealed that Jordan and Washington murdered Jay after he cut them out of a deal to move cocaine. “More than two decades after they killed Jason Mizell in his recording studio, Jordan and Washington have finally been held accountable for their cold-blooded crime driven by greed and revenge,” United States Attorney Breon Peace said in a statement provided by the Eastern District of New York. “That the victim, professionally known as Jam Master Jay, was a Hip Hop icon and Run-DMC’s music was born in Hollis, Queens, in this very district, and beloved by so many, adds to the tragedy of a life senselessly cut short.” Check out his son’s comments on his death below.

NoCap Music Video Turns Murder Case Upside Down After Being Wrongly Used In Trial

Court cases and trials can be messy. We have seen it unfold with Young Thug for example over the last several months. NoCap, while not a defendant in this case, is still being tied up in a murder that went down in Georgia in 2019. But, the state’s Supreme Court has just announced that a music video used as evidence for the murder conviction of Morgan Baker has been wrongfully used. According to reports from AllHipHop and 41-WMGT, NoCap’s music video for “Ghetto Angels” was a major part in the argument to find Baker guilty of the murder of Tamarco Head in Georiga in 2019. However, after further analysis the gun used in the visuals had no connection to the fatal shooting that took place.

In the documents obtained from AllHipHop, the Supreme Court had to this to say in their statement. “The rap music video was highly prejudicial. It allowed the State to introduce impermissible propensity evidence by portraying Baker as a threatening gunman, and the prosecutor severely exacerbated the video’s prejudicial impact by emphasizing that it showed Baker’s predisposition to gun violence.” They also went on to say that the prosecutor played it on three separate occasions, while questioning three witness and focusing in on the fact the video advocated for gun violence.

Morgan Baker’s Conviction Is Now Overturned

Furthermore, the Supreme court said, “[She] emphasized during her closing argument that Baker and other rap artists ‘promote[d]’ gun violence, because ‘[t]hat’s all they know,’ a pointed argument that reinforced to the jury Baker’s alleged violent character.” Additionally, the prosecutors were not able to provide any concrete evidence that Baker was carrying a gun. There is certainly more to come on this story, so stick around with us for more updates.

Tay-K & Attorney Decline Plea Deal For Second Murder Case From 2017, Trial Date To Be Revealed Next Month

It has been eight years since Texas rapper Tay-K was handed down a capital murder charge after a home invasion robbery and murder. He fatally shot a man by the name of Ethan Walker in Mansfield, Texas. However, after being arrested he was released on bond and wildly cut off his ankle monitor while awaiting his sentence. From there, everyone knows how the story goes. Tay-K releases “The Race” during that time period, but then, he got into serious trouble while on the run. Police said that he had murdered a second victim, Mark Anthony Saldivar, in San Antonio this time. This all leads us to Tay-K recently declining the plea deal for that latter murder case in 2017.

According to XXL, video footage surfaced this past weekend from an unknown date of Tay-K and his attorney confronting the state. In the Zoom call, the rapper is dead silent during the whole interaction with the judge. Even though his attorney did all of the responding, Tay-K certainly felt that declining the plea deal was his final decision. Clearly, he feels very sure that he is an innocent man.

XXL says they reached out to the Bexar County Clerk’s Office for comment, but no answer as of yet. Stay with us to remain on track with this developing story.

Man Arrested For Alleged Involvement In Blac Youngsta’s Brother’s Murder

Blac Youngsta’s brother Tomanuel Benson was tragically shot and killed in August of last year, a case that saw little development in its immediate aftermath. However, that recently changed as authorities arrested a 28-year-old man in Memphis for his alleged involvement in the shooting. For those unaware, the rapper’s brother passed away after a shooting at a Memphis gas station. An investigation into the incident resulted in police naming Randy Darnell Ewing Jr. as a suspect, and warrants for his arrest emerged shortly after. This is the most recent development following a months-long manhunt that hadn’t resulted in any concrete news up until this point.

Furthermore, Ewing Jr. received charges of second-degree murder, criminally attempted second-degree murder, violations of the sex offender registry law, and other firearm offense-related charges. U.S. Marshals worked with Memphis PD and Shelby County’s Sheriff’s Office to capture Blac Youngsta’s brother’s alleged killer after a short chase on Tuesday night (February 13), according to AllHipHop. They found Ewing Jr. while armed and treated him for his injuries sustained during the chase before transferring him to Shelby County Jail. Detectives and other authorities remain tight-lipped when it comes to possible motives.

Meanwhile, this is how Blac Youngsta mourned his brother on social media. “I Love U Baby Brother Rest Up,” he wrote on his Instagram Story at the time. “I’m Gone Make The World Pay. I Swear To God Nobody Safe. Standing Over Everybody. Everybody #4LIFE. Gone Make Sure They Feel Me I Promise. Life Will Never Me The Same But God Got Me. I’m The Strongest Man N The World.”

Still, the rapper has also done a lot in his career as of late to make sure he is tributing Tomanuel Benson in every facet of his life. For example, he seemed to dedicate one of his most recent projects, Blac Sheep 2, to his late brother, preserving their bond and this shock in his life in musical form. Hopefully this case continues to move forward at a brisk pace and picks things up very soon. For more news and the latest updates on Blac Youngsta and this tragic occurrence, keep checking in with HNHH.
