NBA YoungBoy Drops 17-Track Mixtape, “Richest Opp”

NBA Youngboy may have just released his latest album a few weeks ago, but he’s back with a new mixtape. Two days ago, the rapper posted the tracklist for Richest Opp on his Twitter account. The mixtape was revealed to have 17 tracks, which is a lot since the album he released in April was 33 songs long. Youngboy does tend to release an insane amount of material, but it’s probably because he has been on house arrest since 2021.

Despite his ongoing beef with Lil Durk and his near-constant online rants, the rapper seems to be living a relatively peaceful life in Utah. However, that’s not to suggest he has no dirty laundry to air out. As evidenced on the new mixtape, he has quite a bit of it. First, Youngboy took on Akademiks and Lil Durk in “B*tch Let’s Do It,” which he released yesterday. Then, earlier tonight, lyrics to “F*ck The Industry Pt. 2” were posted online ahead of the mixtape release. They contained very straightforward disses of huge industry names like Drake, Lil Yachty, and J. Cole.

YoungBoy Lashes Out At The Industry

There are plenty of aggressive tracks on NBA Youngboy’s new mixtape. However, “F*ck The Industry Pt. 2” is definitely a standout for several reasons. First, YB takes on big contemporaries like Drake, J. Cole, and Lil Yachty. He goes for the throat and doesn’t pull a single punch. Another reason the song is a standout is because of the video that the rapper released for it.

Rather than opting for a traditional music video, NBA YoungBoy decided to release an acapella video. It features the rapper sitting in what appears to be a tent, rapping and singing the lyrics to the song straight to the camera. It’s a one-take video, which means that even when the rapper makes a mistake, he keeps going. The sound sounded aggressive as it is, but something about YoungBoy rapping it acapella straight to the viewer makes it all the more intimidating. What do you think of Richest Opp? Let us know in the comments!

Deante Hitchcock Enlists DRAM, Big K.R.I.T., Westside Boogie, & More On “Once Upon A Time”

Deante Hitchcock has consistently proven to be a consistent artist who is constantly evolving. Coming out of Atlanta, Hitchcock has certainly been able to separate himself from his various contemporaries. Overall, this is an impressive feat and it has paid off in terms of garnering a fanbase. Although he may not be a mainstream artist, his fans treat him like one. They are constantly clamoring for new music, and with every release, they seem to crave more and more. Consequently, they were happy to hear about his new album Once Upon A Time.

This new project has been teased for quite some time, and now, it is finally here. Overall, there are 16 tracks to soak up here. Moreover, there are plenty of great features from artists like Westside Boogie, DRAM, and even Big K.R.I.T. That said, Hitchcock is the one who shines the most here. The album displays his immense range. Moreover, it also showcases the love that he has for his newborn son. In many ways, this is a concept album about fatherhood.

Deante’ Hitchcock Displays His Range

“At what was shaping up to be a turning point in my life, the world as we know it seemed to stop turning altogether. I watched our world change, and in the midst of it all, I had a son, became a father, and watched my world change as well,” Deante’ Hitchcock explained. “The word ‘son’ feels hella ironic to read, like the sun up in the sky that I used to stare at until it became an almost blinding blue bouncing ball of light, my son came into the world and brought a brightness into my life that could rival that of its homophone.”

This new project is a great step forward for the artist, and we’re sure many of you would agree. Hopefully, he has even more new music on the way. Let us know what you think of this album, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news from the music world.

Rio Da Yung OG Releases “The F Tape”

Rio Da Yung OG is back outside, musically (free Rio). While the Flint rapper might still be in prison, he’s been busy in the studio. After being sentenced to five years for intent to distribute a controlled substance and an illegal firearm, Rio’s still putting out music. Not only that, Rio Da Yung has released another EP, The F Tape. The wild Detroit lyricist put out a six-track EP and wasted no time talking his talk.

Furthermore, it’s been two years since we’ve heard from Da Yung OG (for obvious reasons). In 2021, Rio Da Yung OG dropped Fiend Lives Matter while still amid his conviction. During that time it was the only solo effort he dropped aside from his slew of features with other Detroit rappers and even traded bars with Lil Yachty on “Royal Rumble.” The seven-track EP was filled with wild production and even wilder lyrics from Rio Da Yung OG. Additionally, his hilarious references to the not-so-hilarious street life realities make Da Yung OG’s music that much more enjoyable. As listeners, we’re suckers for someone who can turn their pain into something lighthearted.

Rio Da Yung OG Drops New EP

With The F Tape, Rio Da Yung OG sticks to the formula of talking crazy on wax. So much so that his lead single was titled “Talkin’ Crazy.” In the two years that we haven’t heard from Rio, it’s refreshing to hear from him again. Since dropping Fiend Lives Matter, Rio Da Yung OG only had a couple of singles out before releasing his new EP. The six-track EP gives you everything you would expect from a Rio Tape. Flexing money, dope selling, and flat-out debauchery are all over this EP.

Some of his most outrageous bars can be found in the last track “In The Bay.” It definitely takes more than a few listens to catch some of these bars. Rio has been incarcerated for two years now. In three more years, he’ll be out and hopefully, we’ll get more music from the Flint rhymer. What do you think of the Yung OG? Have you listened to The F Tape yet? Let the HNHH Crew what you think in the comments below!

Quotable Lyrics:

Hit your block with a K with the scope, call it sightseeing
I don’t think I’m from this planet, I’m an astronaut
I’ll throw my whole career away, bro, pass the Glock

Brent Faiyaz Drops “Wasteland” Chopped Not Slopped

It would be an understatement to say that Brent Faiyaz has been busy. The dude has been working overtime. From announcing a new world tour for his sophomore album Wasteland to partnering with Steve Stout and creating a creative agency that acts as a hub for all his independent work, Brent’s got his foot on the gas. Not only that, today, anonymous DJ/producer Marshmello tapped Brent Faiyaz for a new single. It’s been the first taste of music from the toxic R&B star since dropping his album.

However, Brent’s not done just yet. As if he didn’t have enough momentum, the F*ck The World artist dropped another Chopped Not Slopped rendition of his new album. Wow, a new single, and a chopped n’ screwed version of Wasteland, Brent Faiyaz is kicking things off with a bang for his tour. This is the second time that Faiyaz has collaborated with DJ Candlestick who has an affinity for the Houston chopped n’ screwed style. Candlestick added his personal touch to the R&B star’s new album and his 2020 tape F*ck The World.

Brent Faiyaz Drops “Wasteland” Chopped n’ Screwed Version

Regardless, both tapes are phenomenal, Brent Faiyaz and DJ Candlestick created something dope with these two albums. Not only that the “ChopNotSlop” remixes are all incredibly unique yet familiar. DJ Candlestick does an amazing job setting a scene of a completely comatose feeling throughout each song. It’s as if he poured cough syrup all over the album. However, Brent’s songs still sound as good as the originals, with just a little bit of Houston flavor added.

It’s no surprise when Brent Faiyaz dropped the news that he was hitting the road, fans went into a frenzy. Tickets go on sale today, hopefully, they haven’t already sold out. The first leg of the tour kicks off in July, just in time for the summer, and ends in the fall in Europe. Moreover, with the new single out, along with the release of his remixed sophomore album, Brent’s gonna have a good chunk of music to pick from for the tour. Let us know if you’ve given the album a listen. Have you peeped the new single? Drop a comment below!

IDK Drops Long-Awaited Album “F65”

After fans have patiently waited, Maryland rapper IDK has finally released his fourth studio album F65. However, according to Genius, IDK would say this is his tenth album. Moreover, this project touches on many touches regarding race, life, and African-American history. While each track has influences of smooth jazz that one gets lost in, IDK does a great job ensuring the message shines. Although, the rapper has been “ignorantly delivering knowledge” this effort is far from ignorant.

Furthermore, prior to the record’s release, IDK had quite an extensive roll-out that garnered much hype from his fans. Not only that the Maryland rhymer has a solid list of well received that even celebs like the Weeknd rave about his music. Last year he released an EP titled Simple that was short and sweet but packed a punch. The standout track “Dogfood” featuring Denzel Curry, landed on the Weeknd’s radar prompting him to post it on his Instagram. Additionally, this time around, IDK does nothing short of delivering with his new project.

IDK Drops “F65”

IDK paints an F1 racing scenery over beautiful snappy jazz beats that leave you pleasantly surprised. Not only that, the album has a lot of skits that give a spoken word in a speakeasy type of feel. IDK puts a lot of thought into his music, to the point where you don’t know who he’s going to work with. Henceforth, F65 has a lot of great moments from IDK’s guest verses. Surprisingly the musical chemistry between the Maryland MC and Saucy Santana on the track “Pinot Noir” is dope. The most recent single release “Salty” featuring NLE Choppa also showed the rapper’s range when it comes to working with different artists.

Moreover, according to IDK his new album is, “kinda like a matured version of SubTRAP, but I’m talking about people of color in general, not just drugs.” F65 has many great elements that take more than just one listen to catch all the nuances. However, after listening to the singles he released with the complete album, you can see the conceptualism throughout the project. What are your thoughts on IDK’s new album F65? Let the HNHH crew know what you think below!
