Teezo Touchdown Delivers Genre-Bending Album “How Do You Sleep At Night?

Teezo Touchdown is someone who has been gaining a lot of popularity as of late. Teezo has been around for a while at this point, however, he is having a huge moment right now. Of course, he was on the Travis Scott song “MODERN JAM” which turned out to be a jumping-off point. Furthermore, he received some massive co-signs from the likes of Drake. Needless to say, there has been a lot of hype around his new album, titled How Do You Sleep At Night?

Over the past few weeks, the artist has been dropping a plethora of snippets on his Twitter account. Overall, these snippets have proven to be incredibly polarizing. There are some people out there who love the sound he is going for. However, there are plenty of others who don’t appreciate his blend of pop-punk and r&b. Last Friday, he dropped a lead single for the project, “You Thought,” featuring Janelle Monae. Today, he has come through with the full-length project, which contains 14 songs.

Teezo Touchdown Gives Us His Debut

As you go down the tracklist, you will get a lot of different sounds here. Although there is a lot of guitar, there are some passages that ditch the guitars for glitchy drums and vocal harmonies. Teezo shows himself to be a great singer. However, some people might find the lyrical content to be a bit juvenile. It is definitely an album that will prove to be challenging for those who are unfamiliar with his previous work. That said, the Day One Teezo Touchdown fans out there are going to enjoy this.

Be sure to let us know how you feel about this new track, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to bring you the biggest releases from all of the biggest artists.

Real Bad Man And Blu Drop Their First Collaborative Album “Bad News”

Producing team and street clothing brand Real Bad Man are back with their second album of 2023. This time it is another collaboration with another lyrically adept rapper. That MC is Inglewood, California’s Blu, who is known best for one of the best albums of the early 2000s, Below The Heavens. This album, Bad News, is the fifth team effort from Real Bad Man believe it or not. Two of them are with Boldy James, Killing Nothing (2022) and Real Bad Boldy (2020).

Additionally, Smoke DZA nabbed an opportunity in 2022 with Mood Swings. Finally, Serpent, the other project from this year, featured Kool Keith on every track. Now, it is Blu’s turn to work with Real Bad Man. Fortunately, but not surprisingly, this combo succeeds with ease. The tracklist is tight, just like the rest of Bad Man’s catalog, with just eight and it is just under 23 minutes.

Blac Youngsta Seemingly Releases A Tribute Album To His Late Brother With “Blac Sheep 2”

Memphis rapper Blac Youngsta is currently going through an extremely tough time in his life. He is still grieving the loss of his late brother Tomanuel Benson a few weeks ago. Tomanuel was reportedly shot by a man named Randy Ewing according to the Memphis Police Department at a gas station. It is still not official that it was Ewing, but he is the main suspect. Additionally, authorities still brought forth charges of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Even with a lot going on in Youngsta’s life, he is still in the headspace to release new material. That is why he just put out his sequel to his second 2023 project Blac Sheep. Blac Sheep 2 comes just four months later and contains 15 tracks, equaling a runtime of 42 minutes and 26 seconds. There are also no features here, just like the first Blac Sheep. However, there is more sentiment on this record, as quite a few tracks reference the recent tragic event of his lost brother.

For example, the closing song “Too Far” features Youngsta talking about moving carefully but also dangerously. In the outro to the track, he says, “Keep your motherf****n’ head down, keep your head up n**** no matter what goin’ on.” He continues, “Be careful out here / Stay dangerous and be safe at the same time / Be smart move wise Blac Sheep.” This seems to be a reference to the Instagram story he shared moments after the passing, “I’m Gone Make The World Pay. I Swear To God Nobody Safe. Standing Over Everybody. Everybody #4LIFE. Gone Make Sure They Feel Me I Promise.” It is not confirmed that this is partially a tribute to his family member, but with messages on tracks like this one, it is hard to deny that he was inspired to write some lyrics about it.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new album, Blac Sheep 2, by Black Youngsta? What do you think about Youngsta releasing this album in the wake of his brother’s death? Smoke DZA And Flying Lotus Might Have An EP Of The Year Contender With “Flying Objects”

Smoke DZA and Flying Lotus are truly a match made in heaven. The duo has just released their first collaborative project together with their brand new EP. Flying Objects is one of the best, if not the best EPs of 2023 and we are about to break down why. Firstly though, let us give you the basic information and some background on it. Flying Objects is five tracks that equal a runtime of 14 minutes and 14 seconds. DZA brings on features from some heavy hitters in this quick effort. Conway the Machine, Black Thought, and Estelle appear in songs two, four, and five.

Furthermore, all of the production is handled by legendary Los Angeles producer, Flying Lotus. He brings elements of trap, cloud rap, boom-bap, and R&B. Finally, there were two singles for the promotion of this EP. “Drug Trade” with Black Thought and “Harlem World 97” with Estelle were both released in the past two months. Now, why is this EP so good? Well, both DZA and Lotus complement each other’s styles so well. The hazy, laid-back, and euphoric production along with the lyrics about dope, money, and being the man, is the perfect unison.

Perhaps the best song on the EP, “Drug Trade” featuring Black Thought, has it all. The woozy flow from DZA, the drums and whimsical synths from Lotus, and the lyrical talent from Thought form a truly special song. It is really sad that the duo does not have a full album together. But, we can continue to dream that will happen one day.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new EP, Flying Objects, from Smoke DZA and Flying Lotus? Is this one of the best EPs of 2023? Roc Marciano & The Alchemist Deliver Deluxe Of “The Elephant Man’s Bones”

Last year, Roc Marciano and The Alchemist collaborated for one of 2022’s best rap albums: The Elephant Man’s Bones. For the lyrically-minded and for fans of abstract production, this project filled pretty much every niche and desire. In addition, the duo bolstered it with excellent features from Boldy James, Action Bronson, Ice-T, and Knowledge The Pirate. However, they weren’t quite done with it just yet, and they realized that there’s more to share from his fitting, chemistry-filled, and creative team-up. With two new bonus tracks, the underground legends graced us with The ALC Edition of this album, fitting for a 2023 revamp.

Furthermore, now’s the perfect time to tune into Roc Marciano’s latest if you missed it last year. These new bonus tracks represent everything that made The Elephant Man’s Bones such a compelling LP, and The Alchemist doesn’t slouch in the slightest. “DNA” opens with a menacing bassline and string arrangement, providing fertile ground for the New York MC to stomp on with vivid and twisted hunger. Conversely, the dreamy synth pads and chill, perky rhythms on “Turkey Wings” offer Marciano’s verses a more nostalgic and laidback context.

LAYA Returns With Enticing 7-Track EP “Bet That”

LAYA is an artist who has been on the rise over these past couple of years. Back in 2021, she gave us her Um, Hello EP which had a feature from New York superstar Fivio Foreign. From there, she went viral with a couple of singles such as “Sailor Moon 2.0” and “Need 2 Know.” With these tracks, the artist has been able to show tremendous range as she delves into various genres with ease. It’s clear she can do it all, whether that entails rapped passages or some incredibly sung vocals.

Fans have been waiting for her next move, and on Friday, she blessed those supporters with a seven-track EP called “Bet That.” This short but sweet EP provides fans with a glimpse of the various genres she operates within. For instance, on the opening track “Bet That,” we get some incredible guitar work that crescendos into a full-blown solo at the end. In the midst of this, LAYA makes her presence felt all throughout the track, ultimately setting the tone for the rest of the EP.

LAYA Drops A Dope Collection Of Tracks

Songs like “F’d Up” and “Psycho Bitch” are further examples of what LAYA is able to do. On the latter, we get these funky basslines all while the artist gives us these psychedelic vocal lines that feel like you’re on some sort of acid trip. Its an experimental cut that makes us want the artist to give us a full-length psych-rock experience. If you are not familiar with the singer, than this album is a great way to build some familiarity. Hopefully, a full album is on the horizon.

A few days ago the star rapper and singer shared the meaning behind this quick effort. Her second album was not as well received as she might have hoped, so she decided to do what she does best. Coi Leray says, “The EP, I get deep, I get vulnerable. I got tired of “trying” new things and wanted to just do what I do BEST.”

Sorry I can’t argue with y’all on the internet all day.” Things are definitely getting a little more personal this time and it shows on these five tracks.
