Fedd The God Connects With Wiz Khalifa & Chevy Woods For “3Peat” EP

Representing for Taylor Gang among this weekend’s slew of new releases is Fedd The God. The recording artist shared his 3Peat EP on Friday (December 9), complete with three appearances from Chevy Wood and Wiz Khalifa. Additionally, the latter rapper also assists with the project’s opening title, “Ludic.”

The project boasts beats from the collective’s resident producer Sledgren. Quadwoofer Bangz and Icey also did their part in assisting with the record’s sonic development.

As Attack The Culture notes, Fedd The God previously shared his plans for the quickly approaching new year. “My goals and visions for 2023 [are] to chart, have a single on the chart, get a gold record, and do a European tour,” he said.

Elsewhere, he got real about what it’s like to work alongside Khalifa and Woods in the studio. “The creative process of working with Chevy and Wiz is like Sensei and the teacher,” the “Strip Club Jesus” artist says.

“I do my thing and then they give constructive criticism, and I can take the criticism. It’s never an ego when it comes to the music. All they want to hear from me is good music so they just direct me to get outside my comfort zone.”

Fedd went on to note that he avoids putting himself into a box musically, and his mentors do the same. “They never make me feel uncomfortable in the studio,” he explains.

“The creative process with Chevy is like drawing a free-form picture. The creative process with Wiz is more so on some like, he knows the formula, he has a formula. There’s no real formula for a hit but he knows a formula for gravitation of people and connectivity.”

Rasheed Chappell Makes A Statement With 11-Track “A Portrait Of” Album

Among the many new albums that came in this New Music Friday is a must-listen cut from Rasheed Chappell. On December 9th, the New Jersey artist shared his A Portrait Of project, complete with 11 songs that find him reflecting on the ups and downs of his life so far.

Production from Little Vic provides a release full of soulful sonics that only get better thanks to the east coast star’s contemplative lyrics. Many of his rhymes markedly include honest thoughts, career insights, and hopes for a brighter future.

“This album arose from a place of loss and mourning with Rasheed’s father passing away earlier this year,” a press release explains. Because of this shocking loss, Chappell was left with no choice but to assume a new role within his family’s dynamic.

Though the pain was undeniably hard, it ultimately inspired him to create A Portrait Of. Before releasing the album, the TRUST Gang member shared singles like “Manna From Heaven” and “Narcan,” the former of which earned a shoutout on Joe Budden’s podcast.

On “Two Masters,” Chappell’s wordplay shines while he paints a vivid but daunting photo of what it was like to grow up in Jersey. His stories detail previously hustling to achieve success, losing those closest to him, and being “forced to fight for survival.”

Additionally, for those seeking a more romantic joint, “Save Room” is a perfect recommendation. Consequently, the song is all about maintaining intimate relationships and boasts plenty of soulful instrumentation.

Emotional Oranges Returns With 8-Track “The Juice: Vol. III” EP

Emotional Oranges has proven itself to be one of the premiere R&B duos in the game right now. When they first came onto the scene, they were largely anonymous. With backing from Rory Farrell, the group immediately began to make waves with their funky yet smooth R&B sound.

Interestingly, the group typically releases projects in eight-track bursts. Overall, this is what characterizes their “Juice” series. The group really leans into its orange nomenclature, and it makes for a very unique dynamic. Additionally, prior to Friday, there were two entries into their “The Juice” series.

Emotional Oranges Drops “The Juice: Vol. III”

On Friday, however, the group officially changed that as they dropped off The Juice: Vol. III. This is a project that had been heavily teased over the last little while. For instance, a few months ago, they gave us the single “Bounce,” which just so happens to be the first song on the EP.

Once again, the length of the tape is around eight tracks. Overall, it is a very tight project that showcases the group’s songwriting strengths. The punchy R&B tracks are filled with smooth production choices, and the vocals are on point, as per usual. Furthermore, the songs have a summer vibe to them, which will be a nice contrast while you ride out the winter.

Snoop Dogg, E-40, Ice Cube & Too $hort Make A Statement On Mount Westmore Album

For nearly two years, Snoop Dogg, E-40, Too $hort, and Ice Cube have kept teasing a Mount Westmore project. Now, it’s no secret that each rapper has left a mark on the culture but the idea of them joining forces for a collaborative project felt like a dream come true.

After a few singles to build anticipation, the four rappers came together for Mount Westmore’s new album, SNOOP CUBE 40 $HORT. The first collaborative effort boasts 16 songs with a run time of over one house. The four titans handle the project on their own for the most part. However, P-Lo does come through with the assist on “Too Big.”

During an interview with the LA Times, the four rappers explained that they created the Mount Westmore project over Zoom during the pandemic. All four of them utilized their resources to bring the project off the ground, according to Ice Cube.

“I think everybody saw an opportunity to do something bigger than just us. Something fun. Hip-hop can be so serious … but ain’t nobody having more fun than us. We all love each other, it’s like being in a group with your cousins,” Ice Cube explained.

“It felt like being a kid again, being able to be with your friends and not have to go in when the street lights come on,” Snoop said of Mount Westmore’s creative process. “We can have a friendly argument and then talk about football, basketball, whatever. We want to show the youngsters how to grow into Ice Cube, Too Short, 40, Snoop Dogg. How you can grow into your 50s and still be relevant.”

The Mount Westmore project includes the previously released singles, “Big Subwoofer,” “Too Big,” “Activated,” and “Free Game.”

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Delivers On His New Album “Me Vs. Myself”

After much anticipation, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is back with the release of his new album, Me Vs. Myself. The Bronx-bred rapper returns after a nearly two year but the results were definitely worth waiting for.

Me Vs. Myself consists of 22 songs in total with several heavy-weight appearances. The previously released singles such as “B.R.O” ft Roddy Ricch, “Take Shots” ft. Tory Lanez, “Ballin” and the Kodak Black-assisted “Water (Drowning Pt. 2)” appear on the tracklist. Additionally, the project boasts features from G Herbo and H.E.R. Lil Durk also appears twice on the project on “24 Hours” and “Damn Homie.” Frequent collaborator and Highbridge The Label artist Don Q features on “Chanelly.”

A Boogie teased as A Boogie Vs. Artist shortly after his last studio album, leading to the release of 2021’s B4 AVA. However, the rapper kept a low profile since until he announced the release date in September. Unfortunately for fans, the album was further delayed after Drake and 21 Savage pushed back the release of Her Loss.

“Sorry but album dropping in December now, Drake was dropping the same day and I’m not with that,” he wrote. Evidently, it was a good choice, considering Drake and 21 Savage topped the Billboard 200 with the highest numbers for a hip-hop album in 2022.

Though A Boogie hasn’t dropped an album since 2020’s Artist 2.0, he’s dished out numerous features, many of them alongside the budding drill stars from New York. However, he also expanded beyond New York City with collabs alongside David Guetta, Kawhi Leonard, and more.

With the release of his new album, we’re excited to see what A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie gets up to in the new year. Check out Me Vs. Myself below and sound off with your thoughts on the project in the comments. Was it worth the wait? Let us know.
