Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre’s “Gin And Juice” Proves They Can Thrive In Any Era

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre go together like peanut butter and jelly. You can never separate the two, and they are an iconic pairing. They are also timeless and have excelled at any point in history as well. It’s why their upcoming project, Missionary, will be a fun listening experience. Even though they aren’t at the beginning of their careers anymore, their names and past works carry so much weight. Part of the reason for that is because of one of the most memorable hip-hop projects of all time, Doggystyle. Not too long ago, Snoop D-O-double-G’s debut turned 31 years old, and still, it sounds extremely fresh.

That’s thanks to the sounds of songs like “Gin and Juice,” it’s most popular track. The G-funk subgenre in general is so smooth and accessible that it can excel in so many scenarios. Whether it be at a party, kick back, or while just doing stuff around the house, the instrumentation utilized give it that endless replay factor. It’s why this track and so many others on Doggystyle still ring off today. In a way, we hope that Missionary will give off that full circle moment type of feel. Even an improvement or update to their formula would make for a great time. The early reviews are suggesting that, so it sounds like we are headed for more excellence from the Dr. and Snoop.

With so much drama in the L-B-C
It’s kind of hard bein’ Snoop D-O-double-G

May I kick a little something (Yeah)

50 Cent Uses AI To Tease New “Missionary” Collab With Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, And Eminem

Yesterday (December 11), 50 Cent took to social media to tease his collab with Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre on the eagerly anticipated upcoming album, Missionary. He shared an AI-assisted commercial featuring the track, “Gunz N Smoke,” which shows Snoop and Dre meeting Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. “NEW HEAT @snoopdogg FT. @eminem & ME 🔥GUNZ N SMOKE,” he captioned the post.

Missionary will be a sequel to Snoop’s 1993 debut Doggystyle and is slated for release tomorrow. In addition to Fif and Eminem, it features the likes of Method Man, Jelly Roll, Sting, Jhené Aiko, and more. During a live taping of Drink Champs at Complex Con in October, Dr. Dre opened up about working on the project, even calling it some of his best work yet.

50 Cent Prepares for The Release Of Missionary

“Snoop came in and allowed me to get down the way I get down,” he explained at the time. “You know, I feel like this is some of my best work. Because my mentality for the musicianship and everything that goes into doing this s**t within those 12 notes has just advanced so much. So, yeah, I feel like right now, today, this is some of my best work.” As for 50 Cent, he discussed the new collab during his appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” earlier this week.

He also joked about Snoop Dogg’s smoking habit. “That’s not even getting high,” he said of Snoop’s excessive marijuana consumption. “I think you have to relax; you have to come down to be sober to get high again. Like he’s just sustaining feelings.” This isn’t the first time he’s used AI recently either, as he also used it to troll Diddy and Jay-Z. He shared an AI-generated video of the duo getting arrested shortly after they were both named in a lawsuit for alleged sexual assault of a minor.

Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg Continue Rollout For “Missionary” With Explosive Teaser Trailer

It’s almost that time folks! In just about 48 hours, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre will be dropping off Missionary, their new collaborative album in over 30 years. It’s a major reunion, as Doggystyle is a staple in the West Coast, but also in hip-hop overall. It helped catapult both of their careers even further and has also given us one of the best duos in the genre of all time. Even though they aren’t really in the prime years anymore, there has been plenty of excitement surrounding this project. It’s for good reason, as both icons are known to put out quality together. Additionally, some of the older acts this year have put out great bodies of work, such as LL Cool J with The FORCE.

If he can do it, why can’t they? So far, the reception of the record has been very strong. Some were already raining praise on it, such as Russ, LeBron James, and more. They were bumping some of the album over at the studios of Drink Champs almost a month ago. Moreover, the singles have been more than enjoyable as well. So far, they include “Gorgeous” with Jhene Aiko, “Outta Da Blue,” and “Another Part Of Me” with rock band Sting.

Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg Are Just Three Days Away From Missionary

Given how close we are, and the number of singles already out, you would think the rollout would be over by now. However, that’s not true one bit, according to AllHipHop. Recently, Dre and Snoop Dogg put out a minute-long album trailer on YouTube. It’s a jam-packed and eventul watch, which is probably what the listening experience for Missionary will be like.

It kicks off with the two album’s creators getting pulled over by a cop. The officer asks if they know why they got stopped, and Dre has a hilarious response. “DWB? Driving While Black?” From there, the visual, directed by Dave Meyers, gets chaotic. Crazy car stunts, dead bodies in a freezer, and vehicular explosions are all squeezed in. There appears to be some storyline here, as there is also a potential sneak peek at the music video for “Gorgeous” thrown in with some cameos from Jhene Aiko. Overall, we can’t wait for what’s to come and we don’t have to wait much longer now.

Dr Dre Claims That His New Album “Missionary” With Snoop Dogg Is Among His Best Work

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will close out 2024 in grand fashion via their upcoming new album Missionary, set for release on Friday (December 13). Moreover, the iconic West Coast duo recently stopped by Complex Con for a live taping of the Drink Champs podcast with N.O.R.E., DJ EFN, and the rest of the crew. They had a great conversation that touched on a lot of different topics, one of them being how the California producer feels like this new project is among his finest work to date. It’s a high bar considering the classic status of records like The Chronic, Doggystyle, and 2001, but if you don’t have that confidence in your artistry, then what are your nurturing it for?

“Snoop came in and allowed me to get down the way I get down,” Dr. Dre said of his upcoming Snoop Dogg collab album, Missionary. “You know, I feel like this is some of my best work. Because my mentality for the musicianship and everything that goes into doing this s**t within those 12 notes has just advanced so much. So, yeah, I feel like right now, today, this is some of my best work.”

Dr Dre Sets High Bar For Snoop Dogg Collab Album Missionary

Elsewhere during the Drink Champs session with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg also chimed into the backlash that the Super Bowl halftime show received for next year as a previous performer. “What we need to think about is that before Jay-Z got control of the Super Bowl, wasn’t no n***as performing,” he posited. “So let’s go back to the essence of the beginning of bridge. He’s creating a wave of artists to have an opportunity to perform. If you are a good artist and you are a great artist, your time will come.”

Meanwhile, the duo almost came to tears when talking about the evolution of Death Row and how their legacies live on today. We can’t wait to dive into Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s Missionary, especially since they seem particularly proud of what they crafted. If the singles are anything to go off of, then we should be in for a fun-loving, crisp, and celebratory experience.

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre Flip Iconic Police Song On The Sting-Assisted “Another Part Of Me”

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are a legendary duo who are responsible for some of hip-hop’s most iconic songs. Overall, their legacies in rap music are cemented. However, that does not mean they are by any means finished with making music. In fact, on December 13th, they will be dropping a new album together called Missionary which is the spiritual successor to Snoop’s iconic debut album Doggystyle. The innuendos are pretty clear, and fans are excited for what this is about to sound like.

On Friday, the two decided to bless fans with a rare Thanksgiving weekend drop. They did so in the form of the song “Another Part Of Me” which features Sting. The feature makes a whole lot of sense when you realize the production is a flip of The Police’s iconic hit song “Message In A Bottle.” This guitar-driven production is met with some rare auto-tuned singing from Snoop. Although this might be polarizing to some longtime fans, there are some interesting ideas here.

The album promises to be a victory lap for the West Coast, which is already having a huge year thanks to the emergence of numerous talented local acts. Furthermore, you cannot forget about Kendrick Lamar whose song “Not Like Us” was one of the biggest of the entire year. Following the success of GNX, there is no doubt that Missionary is going to be the perfect way for Los Angeles to cap off its legendary year.

Snoop Dogg Links With Dr. Dre And Alus On The Verse-Swapping New ‘Missionary’ Single ‘Outta Da Blue’

In recent days, Snoop Dogg has been occupied with rolling out his upcoming Dr. Dre-produced album, Missionary. Last month, he announced the December 13 release date and did it with a comedic skit starring two missionaries. Later, he shared the condom-inspired cover art and the tracklist, which features 50 Cent, Eminem, Tom Petty, Jelly Roll, Dre, Sting, Jhené Aiko, BJ The Chicago Kid, and more.

Also featured on the project is Alus, who appears on “Outta Da Blue,” which was shared today (November 21). Fans got an early look at the track a few days ago when it was featured in the trailer for Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz’s upcoming Netflix film Back In Action.

While Snoop and Dre have worked together on many occasions over the years, Missionary is the first time they’ve done a full album together since 1993’s Doggystyle.

Meanwhile, it was also announced today that Snoop will close out the ongoing third season of the Amazon Music Live concert series. His performance will take place on Black Friday (November 29) at 4 p.m. PT, and it’ll be viewable via Prime Video and Twitch. More information can be found here.

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre Team Up With Alus For Hard-Hitting Single “Outta Da Blue”

Snoop Dogg is currently gearing up to unleash his highly anticipated album with Dr. Dre, Missionary. The project will be a follow-up to his iconic 1993 debut, Doggystyle, and is slated for release on December 13. To get listeners excited about what’s to come, the California-born rapper unveiled yet another single today, “Outta Da Blue.” It features both Dr. Dre and New Jersey songstress Alus.

They first previewed the new track at ComplexCon a few days ago. It’s also featured in the trailer for an upcoming Netflix film, “Back In Action,” which stars Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz. Aside from producing the track, fans hear Dr. Dre deliver some hard-hitting bars. The song even samples M.I.A.’s 2007 single, “Paper Planes.” The release of “Outta Da Blue” comes just weeks after Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre unveiled the star-studded Missionary tracklist, and left supporters more eager than ever to hear what they have up their sleeve.

It features the likes of BJ The Chicago Kid, Jhené Aiko, Tom Petty, Jelly Roll, Sting, Method Man, 50 Cent, Eminem, and many more. This isn’t the only new material they’ve gotten from the duo in recent weeks, however. During a live episode of Drink Champs at ComplexCon, they also debuted several other snippets from the album. They even previewed the Sting collab they’ve been teasing since this summer, which interpolates his band The Police’s “Message In A Bottle.” Already, they’ve been receiving a great deal of praise for what they’ve come up with, and fans can’t wait for the rest of Missionary.

Dr. Dre left Snoop Dogg emotional while discussing his longtime collaborator’s purchase of Death Row Records. The two both appeared at ComplexCon in Las Vegas for a live taping of an interview on Drink Champs over the weekend. When the topic of Death Row came up, Dre explained how “proud” he was of Snoop for the move.

“Let me tell you something, man. I was so upset when I heard that Snoop was doing the Death Row sh*t at the beginning,” he said. “Like, ‘N****, that sh*t has so much bullsh*t following it.’ But now, I’m so happy about it and so impressed at what my brother’s doing because he’s taken the thing that we created and brought it back to life. I see his vision now. I appreciate it, and I’m proud of it.” The praise left Snoop emotional, responding: “That made me feel good. Thank y’all. Y’all tryna make a n**** cry.”

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre’s “Missionary” Is Already Receiving High Praise Weeks Before Release

“Rap game’s OGs about to remind us what greatness sounds like! 🎤👊🙌” That is one fan’s reaction to some recent teasers of Missionary, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s second album together. It’s the long-awaited follow-up to their first effort Doggystyle. Overall, it’s definitely been a long time coming. But these two legends reuniting for another project this deep into the careers is extremely worth wait. Speaking of which, that’s the current mood surrounding it, with many already anticipating this to be one of the best of the year.

It’s pretty incredible how much positive reception it’s getting, especially since it’s still weeks away from dropping. To remind everyone, Missionary will arrive on streaming on December 13. We can attribute the early buzz to Snoop sharing some sneak peeks of the record on Instagram (via AllHipHop). They come from the duo’s recent appearance on Drink Champs. There are some crazy samples that people are discovering from the clips, but you really can’t expect anything less from Dr. Dre. Some include Sly & the Family Stone’s “Thank You” and The Police’s “Message in a Bottle.”

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre Share “Gorgeous” Featuring Jhene Aiko Ahead Of “Missionary”

On the eve of Halloween, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre formally announced the release date for their first album in over three decades, Missionary. Fans of the D-O-double-G can and the iconic West Coast producer to drop their body of work on December 13. The album is available for pre-save and pre-order, and it will boast 15 tracks with a heaping helping of features. It’s a wild guest list with Tom Petty, Jelly Roll, and Sting being the most left-field names. However, there are plenty you would come to expect, such as Eminem, 50 Cent, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Jhene Aiko.

Speaking of which, the airy R&B vocalist’s track, “Gorgeous,” is out today. The lead single features that West Coast vibe that you come to expect from Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. Overall, they sound just as in sync as they did when they worked on Doggystyle in the mid-90’s. Aiko’s vocals soar on the chorus, but they aren’t overpowering. It matches up perfectly, because he’s bringing his well-known laid-back verses to the table here. The cover art (and album artwork) is a tell-tale sign of what to expect at least on “Gorgeous,” as Snoop Dogg and Aiko express their sexual desires. It’s fine and catchy way to start the full-circle celebration for this legendary duo and you can check it out below.
