New Pop-Up Museum Set To Honor Young Dolph

It’s been just over a year since Memphis rapper Young Dolph’s tragic murder in his hometown.

Although the hip-hop community is continuing to mourn the loss of one of Southern rap’s most prolific stars, there’s some good news for Dolph fans.

The late rapper is set to be honored in the form of a museum called the “Dolphland Pop-up Museum Tour.” The announcement was made by his estate, his record label (Paper Route Empire) and the Trap Music Museum on Wednesday (December 21).

The exhibition will reportedly include both personal items from the Memphis native, as well as curated art. Furthermore, the focus is to reflect Dolph’s “unforgettable lyricism, personality, entrepreneurial spirit, philanthropy and historic moments from his legendary career.”

“The goal of the pop-up museum is to showcase the character of a leader and businessman, and to highlight the journey of someone whose early beginnings may mirror that of many young kids and entrepreneurs starting, so that they may draw inspiration to keep pushing on their own endeavors,” says Paper Route Empire CEO, Daddy-O in a statement.

The exhibit will be coming to several U.S. cities. The first of which will be New York City from January 13-15. Other stops it will make include touching down in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas.

The “100 Shots” rapper’s first posthumous album, Paper Route Frank, just arrived earlier this month. The 13-track project boasts features from the likes of Key Glock, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz and more.

Finally, make sure to stream the posthumous release, as well as the rest of Dolph’s music on your preferred streaming platform. He owns all of his masters, meaning that his family will see the profit from these streams.

Man Charged With Murder Of Rapper Snootie Wild

Authorities have arrested a man and charged him with murdering Memphis rapper Snootie Wild, according to NBC reports on Thursday (December 15th). Moreover, they identified him as 22-year-old Ivory Duke Williams, but revealed no further details about the case. ABC13 reported in February that authorities found Snootie Wild in a ditch suffering from a gunshot wound. He tragically succumbed to them while in the hospital.

As officials reported, a woman called Houston police around 2 a.m. on February 25th for assistance with a stuck vehicle. She claimed that Snootie, real name LePreston Porter, drew a gun on her as others attempted to help. Later, when gunshots rang, the woman fled the scene with several other vehicles with no knowledge of Porter’s injuries. Then, authorities on the scene found the rapper and transported him to the hospital.

Snootie Wild worked with Yo Gotti’s CMG label and made many hits with Memphis artists such as “Yayo.” Following his untimely passing, his family issued a statement honoring his memory.

“We are devastated by the untimely passing of our beloved LePreston Porter, known to the world as gold-selling and Billboard charting Hip Hop recording artist Snootie Wild,” they wrote. “He meant the world to us. A son, loving boyfriend, brother to four sisters, a father of seven, and a nephew and cousin to a host of others, he held many roles within our family and was a big kid at heart. LePreston was a beautiful, compassionate and talented soul whose presence was ever felt within our family.

“Though we ask for privacy at this time,” it went on, “we invite you to join us in not only remembering him and his music but also supporting our pursuit for answers and a thorough investigation by the Houston, TX police department that will bring his killers to justice.”

What is your favorite Snootie Wild song, album, or related art that still speaks to you? Join us in honoring his memory by revisiting our interview with him here. Also, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest case updates. Rest In Peace Snootie Wild.

Grove Hero & Lil Migo Fight At Airport

A year after his tragic death, Young Dolph’s impact on the Memphis scene is still strong and sustained. Unfortunately, much of that impact has also been as a result of presumed beef between many artists in the region. Recently, rappers Grove Hero and Lil Migo got into a fight at an airport. While Lil Migo signed to Yo Gotti’s CMG label, Grove Hero rides for Dolph, who Gotti had beef with. However, the reason as to why this physical altercation occurred is unknown, and it’s unclear whether it’s surrounding the late rapper.

First, Grove Hero approached Lil Migo while filming with his phone camera. “You Migo?” he asked the fellow rapper. “You crazy,” he responds. Hero then retorts with “I ought to beat you… what you gonna do?” In the clip, you see Migo start to approach Hero as the camera turns away. Later, you can see Migo pull his own phone out, presumably to film the interaction as well.

“Come on, don’t be tryin’ to call your partners, bruh,” Hero taunted Migo. “It’s just me and you, I’m by myself. Me and you, outside.” Afterwards, they kept exchanging insults until Grove Hero smacked Migo’s phone out of his hand. That’s the last of the recorded clips, but they also took to social media to share their sides of the story. The last update we heard between Gotti and Dolph’s camps was Gotti’s lawyer dropping out of Dolph’s murder case.

“This n***a smack the phone out my hand & ran a 4 flat soon I pull my pants up,” Lil Migo wrote. “I put this on God! This n***a ran to the police OMM.”

Grove Hero replied with “Lies,” along with some laughing emojis. “I told u when I caught u it was over.”

Later, Lil Migo went at Grove again. “Mr. Mario,” he wrote, “U know like I know u do anything for clout & manipulate some s**t, u smacked my phone cuh, why you ain’t get your baggage?” He deleted the post shortly after publishing.
