Matt Barnes Says He’s Stopped Two People From Beating Up Skip Bayless Prior To Damar Hamlin Tweet: “They Wanted To F*** Skip Up”

c

Skip Bayless is facing heavy amounts of backlash for his tweet concerning the postponing Bills and Bengals game when Damar Hamlin had suffered cardiac arrest just moments before. He has even ruffled the feathers of his Undisputed cohost, Shannon Sharpe, who did not show up to work on Monday and caught an attitude with Skip for interrupting him while he was doing his monologue. In a video posted to his Instagram, former small forward Matt Barnes slammed Bayless for his insensitive comments and said that he has had to stop people from assaulting Bayless on two separate occasions prior to the Damar Hamlin tweet.

“First of all, Skip is a professional in this realm, [and] was highly respected,” Barnes said. “When people say, ‘read the whole tweet,’ he said the game was ‘irrelevant.’ He knew he had to put that at the end of the bullshit he was saying hoping we didn’t see through the bullshit, because how he truly felt was his original first sentence.”

Barnes added that Skip seemed to be more concerned over the game than Damar Hamlin’s health and that Skip’s “day” might be coming, amid tension that has been brewing between him and Shannon Sharpe.

“I just feel as of late he’s been very very very disrespectful and out of pocket, and that’s normal, but he’s been that way to Shannon [Sharpe]. I think Skip’s day is coming, and it may not be from a firing standpoint because you know white men in this profession can kinda get away with and do what they want.”

Barnes then added that he has had to stop a player, and a coach, on two different occasions from assaulting the sports commentator, and said that one day someone is going to end up getting physical with him.

“I know personally that I’ve had to diffuse two situations,” Barnes said. “One with a coach, and one with an NBA player. They wanted to fuck Skip up. … One was this year, one was last year. … Luckily cooler heads prevailed, but it’s just gone too far in my opinion. Shannon’s had a lot of love or does have a lot of love for dude, but you can even see Shannon’s fed up. And someone’s gonna end up hurting Skip.”

Matt Barnes Says He’s Stopped People From Assaulting Skip Bayless

Matt Barnes says that he’s kept people from assaulting Skip Bayless in the past. The comments come in response to Bayless’ recent comments on the injury of Damar Hamlin.

Barnes began by praising Bayless as a professional but criticized his handling of the Hamlin situation. Bayless had posted an insensitive tweet on Monday night about the resuming of play following the scary incident.

Barnes began by suggesting that he thinks “Skip’s day is coming.”

“I know personally that I’ve had to defuse two situations– one with a coach and one with an NBA player,” Barnes revealed. “They wanted to fuck Skip up. Personally, I’ve had to do it. One was this year and one was last year.”

He continued: “Luckily cooler heads prevailed, but I just see it’s just gone too far in my opinion. And again Shannon has had a lot of love or does have a lot of love for dude but you can see Shannon’s fed up. And someone’s gonna end up hurting Skip, because his ego, his arrogance, his disrespect, has kind of always been on this level, but now I think it’s going to a new level.”

As for what specifically Bayless tweeted, he wrote: “No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

After Shannon Sharpe returned to Undisputed on Wednesday, the two got into a heated argument about the post.

Hamlin currently remains under intensive care at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The Bills say that he has shown “signs of improvement” since Monday night.

Matt Barnes Rips Wally Szczerbiak For Tyrese Haliburton Slander

Matt Barnes is someone who calls out people for being lame, and that is exactly what he did this week with Wally Szczerbiak. For those who don’t know, Szczerbiak had some choice words for Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton. The former NBA star was straight up hating on the kid which subsequently upset people.

“Mr. Supposed, wannabe, fake All-Star with the big miss there… Last chance, down 3 for the wannabe All-Star,” Szczerbiak said. “He’s in his 2nd year, he’s a very good player. He’s not gonna make the All-Star team.”

Matt Barnes Responds

Barnes went on All The Smoke and hit Szczerbiak with a reality check on his comments. Overall, Barnes just wishes that former players had more respect for the current generation. Moreover, he thinks what the Knicks broadcaster did was simply out of line, and makes no sense.

“This bum as motherf*cker Wally Szczerbiak has just completely disrespected Tyrese Haliburton, who’s leading the league in assists, calling him a fake All-Star and fake this and fake that, and it’s just like, why?” Barnes said. “Like, what’s the point of that? Like, what do you get out of that?”

Haliburton Reacts

Following this news, Haliburton got to speak with Taylor Rook of Bleacher Report. During this conversation, Haliburton was asked about the Szczerbiak slander. Overall, Haliburton isn’t fazed by it, although he barely knows who the former NBA player is.

“I know the name Wally Szczerbiak, I couldn’t tell you where he played, I couldn’t tell you what he did,” Haliburton said.

Hopefully, people start to put some respect on Haliburton’s name. He is a phenomenal young star who is showing himself to be a more than capable young man. If he does make the All-Star team, then it will most definitely be deserved.

Matt Barnes Was Reportedly A Victim Of Robert Sarver’s Racism

Robert Sarver is currently in the midst of selling the Phoenix Suns, and there is no doubt that the NBA is not sad to see him go. Just a few weeks ago, he was exposed for sexism and racism in the workplace, including using the N-word on more than one occasion. It is a horrible look for the Suns and the NBA, which is why Sarver is doing the right thing by selling his stake.

Much of Sarver’s racism was covert and done behind the scenes. With that being said, some of his racism has been relayed to those who were victims of it. One such person is none other than Matt Barnes, who spoke about Sarver while being interviewed by VladTV.

Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images

As you can see in the video clip down below, Barnes was quite adamant that Sarver was always a bad guy. This is something Barnes had known for years and he had been telling everyone that this was the case. For the most part, Barnes wanted to keep it from the public as he had no hard evidence. Now, however, he feels vindicated in a sense as now the whole world knows about Sarver being a bad guy.

With Sarver out of the league, the NBA is a much better place. It is similar to when Donald Sterling was banned just eight years ago.

Hopefully, no more NBA franchises have to go through this.

Matt Barnes Clarifies Why He Backtracked On Ime Udoka Remarks

At this point, every single NBA fan is aware of Ime Udoka and his extra-marital relationship with a member of the Celtics staff. Udoka cheated on Nia Long with this woman, and now, he will be suspended for the next year. Udoka could face plenty of other penalties, and it is not looking good for his career.

Many analysts have weighed in on this news, including Matt Barnes. Initially, Barnes thought the suspension was a bit much, however, he ultimately retracted his statement, noting that this is a very ugly situation.

Scott Halleran/Getty Images

“I clearly have to say, last night, without knowing all the facts, I spoke on Ime Udoka’s defense and after finding out the facts after I spoke, I erased what I posted because this situation in Boston is deep,” he said. “It’s messy. It’s a hundred times uglier than any of us thought and that’s why I erased what I said. […] Some things happened that I can’t condone, I can’t back and it’s not my place to tell you what happened. If it ends up coming out, it ends up coming out. But that was the reason why I erased my post last night.”

Recently, Barnes went on VladTV where he got to speak on the Udoka situation and why he ultimately backtracked. As you will see down below, Barnes found out who within the organization Udoka slept with, which ultimately gave him a new perspective on this whole ordeal. Of course, Barnes did not give any information, however, it’s clear that this is a story that could get uglier within the coming months.

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will continue to bring you the latest news and updates pertaining to the Udoka situation.
