After an eight-year hiatus, Ludacris is ready to return to music, and he’s not coming back alone. Fellow artists Paul Wall and Memphis Bleek seem to also be on board. With these powerhouses to return to hip-hop, fans can expect nothing short of greatness.

Ludacris Gets Honest

On Nov. 21, Ludacris sat down with BET to discuss his plan to get back into his music bag after an eight-year hiatus.

During the interview, the actor/rapper revealed that he has been working on music projects set to be released in 2024. Although he didn’t specify whether it would be an EP or an LP, the rapper expressed his eagerness to share new material with his fans. Ludacris explained:

“Yeah, some music projects will be coming out next year. I don’t wanna fake, I don’t wanna stutter-step. It’s definitely some music coming next year, but I don’t know if it’s like an EP or an LP. We’re going to figure it out. These movie projects like Fast & Furious and doing a lot of things like the Karma’s World project that’s on Netflix. You know, doing other art forms where I’m creative, where I’m putting my heart into that, I want to make sure that I leave a legacy on this earth.  So it was just taking a step back and getting hungry again, living some life. ‘Cause when you put out music, in order for it to be organic and real, you gotta talk about what goes on in your life. So if I had like nine consistent albums, sometimes you gotta take a step back and live some life so that you have a lot more to talk about and that’s what I was doing.”

The “Get Back” rapper also explained that he didn’t want to necessarily talk about what his new music would sound like because it was “premature” and he had been “working on a lot of stuff.”

Ludacris said he still has some goals he’d like to reach, including playing a villain on the big screen. The “How Low” rapper expressed:

“I definitely would love to be a part of the Marvel universe or DC universe, but I wouldn’t mind playing the villain that doesn’t die. That’s what I’m looking for — one of those roles or like a Training Day villain-type role.”

Ludacris With More Acting Ventures

Speaking of the Fast and Furious actor’s film career, Ludacris and Lil Rel Howrey are set to bring holiday joy in the Disney+ Christmas film Dashing Through The Snow.

In the recently released trailer, with rapper Lil Jon’s distinctive voice, the film unfolds the heartwarming journey of Ludacris as “Eddie Garrick,” a divorced social worker, and his daughter Charlotte, portrayed by Madison Skye Validum, as they embark on a magical Christmas Eve adventure.

Paul Wall Back In The Slab

Meanwhile, Paul Wall has been making moves of his own, releasing his second single titled “Covered In Ice.”

The track showcases the Houston rapper’s signature Southern sound and reflects the lifestyle and culture of his hometown. Accompanied by a music video featuring notable artists such as Bun B and Chalie Boy, titled, “Roll Skate, Bounce,” Paul Wall pays homage to his city while solidifying his place in the rap game.

Memphis Bleek Joins The Wave With A New Artist

Joining the wave of comebacks, New York rapper Memphis Bleek has resurfaced after a ten-year hiatus from music.

Bleek teamed up with Milwaukee’s rap artist Huey V on the track “Mo Money, Mo Problems.” With their shared mentor relationship and Bleek’s lyrical contribution, the collaboration encapsulates Huey V’s journey from the streets to success.

Drake Breaks His Silence

Another rapper who with their shared mentor relationship and Bleek’s lyrical contribution recently broke their hiatus was Drake. The Canadian rapper sent shockwaves through the music world with a surprise announcement of his upcoming EP, Scary Hours 3, following his hiatus declaration. The chart-topping artist captivated fans by sharing a dynamic two-minute trailer, teasing its release.

Ludacris Opens Chicken & Beer Restaurant At LAX

Ludacris celebrated the grand opening of his second Chicken + Beer restaurant location on Wednesday at the LAX airport. He posted a picture of his restaurant workforce gathered together under the Chicken + Beer logo. Located in Terminal 3 at the giant Los Angeles airport, it serves way more than just chicken and beer. Commenters on Instagram were raving about other food items, such as the “Grown Folk Mimosa” and high-quality shrimp and grits.

“ITS OFFICIAL!!!!! CHICKEN & BEER LAX IS NOW OPEN! …LOS ANGELES, [LET’S] GO!!!” Ludacris shouted from his Insta caption. The first Chicken + Beer location is Gate D5 at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. That first restaurant launched in 2016, making this second location a whole seven years in the making. The name of the restaurant is an homage to Luda’s 2003 studio album Chicken-n-Beer. The official Chicken + Beer website claims to serve “all the flavors of Southern soul food.” This includes fresh-made waffles, mac and cheese that’s “better than your mama’s,” and crispy fried chicken.

Ludacris Is A King Of All Trades

Ludacris has had his hands in multiple industries for quite some time. While he got his start in music — and still performs to this day — he is now better known as an actor. He plays a pivotal role in the Fast & Furious franchise. Owning a couple of restaurants is par for the course for the talented multi-hyphenate. And it all reflects in his massive net worth. He also got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame back in May, making him one of only a few rappers to achieve the feat. During the Walk of Fame ceremony, Ludacris choked up when his daughter, Karma, went up to say a few words about her dad.

When he got up to the stage, he talked about crushing expectations and doing everything he sets his mind to. “No matter what people say I can’t do,” Luda said, “I will continue to shatter those stereotypes and show people it’s possible in order to make everyone who got me here proud. Because you all inspire my hard work and dedication to receive this star today. I’m motivated by legacy and history.” His legacy now includes a second Chicken + Beer restaurant location.

Jack Harlow Received Some Pretty High Praise From Kendrick Lamar

Jack Harlow’s latest album, Jackman, has garnered praise from fellow musicians. The list of those who have said kind words about the album is long, and it now includes Kendrick Lamar. Jack Harlow stopped by to speak to the Rap Radar podcast about the new album. During the episode, released on June 15, Harlow shared that the recognition from his musical peers helped him overcome frustrations from his critics. Many of them had accused him of cultural appropriation or being a “culture vulture.” However, Harlow simply emphasized the importance of being a fan of the genre and having a passion for the craft. The rapper expressed excitement about recording the songs and the anticipation of how they would be received.

Jack Harlow also spoke about meeting Kendrick Lamar at the Met. He recalled the encounter with Kendrick in the interview, revealing that the rapper praised his album. According to Harlow, that praise alone gave him enough recognition to make him feel validated. He went on to express his gratitude and satisfaction. Harlow even said that he didn’t feel the need to meet anyone else after receiving Kendrick’s approval. You can check out the full interview below.

Ludacris Joins In Praising Jack Harlow’s Skills

Jack Harlow received flowers from another icon in the industry. Ludacris also showed support for Jack Harlow by giving him his official co-sign for his song “First Class.” The hit famously samples Fergie’s track “Glamorous” from 2007, which featured Luda. The icon acknowledged the perspective of hip-hop purists but commended Harlow for doing justice to the sample. He stated that he liked the record and appreciated the new generation connecting with the song. Ludacris also emphasized the importance of embracing new music even if it may not be everyone’s personal preference.

“How can I not be okay with it? I’m doing shows, and there’s a whole new generation that is identifying with the record, even if they haven’t heard my verse, simply because Jack Harlow is doing it over,” Luda said. “I feel like he did it justice. It would be different if it was a poor rendition, but it’s not. Jack Harlow did it exceptionally well, and I enjoy the record.” What do you think of the praise Harlow has been receiving? Do you agree? Let us know in the comments below!
