Chris Brown Defended By Lisa Raye In Usher Drama

Recently, it was reported that Chris Brown’s 34th birthday party ended on a violent note. Rumors swirled that he and his crew jumped Usher at the event. This development was surprising, given that the two R&B singers have a close relationship. While the story remains unconfirmed and is mostly based on hearsay and conjecture, reports have flooded in from all angles. Although some individuals may need to see video evidence to believe it, most are curious to know what happened. Though there is no video of the physical altercation, a video did later emerge of an argument between the two. According to these accounts, it was not a personal grudge but a matter of defending a victim of Brown’s behavior.

Usher threw a skate party for Brown’s birthday, with guests including Mario, Bow Wow, and many others. However, things reportedly took a turn for the worse as Brown allegedly got increasingly intoxicated. He was said to have been disrespectful to Teyana Taylor, approaching her in a drunken state. It’s unclear what exactly he said or did. Multiple individuals are believed to have joined the argument, leading to the alleged altercation. Now, Chris Brown has a new defender in Lisa Raye.

Lisa Raye: Why [Brown] Gotta Chill?

Lisa Raye spoke out in Brown’s defense on Fox Souls’ Cocktails With Queens. In the roundtable-style interview, Raye says that the public treats the singer unfairly based on his past. However, she points out that having a past doesn’t mean everything is automatically your fault. “Why he gotta chill? Why he gotta chill?” Raye asked. “What if he felt just like what he said? ‘F her.’ What if he felt like that? What I don’t like about it is that every time his name is brought up, that he always gets automatically blamed. Because, ‘He is that way.’ We know him to be that, so it gotta be him.”

Raye went on to compare her past to Brown’s, giving some insight as to why she feels that he is treated unfairly. “That’s what I don’t like when people have that kind of stigma – because I got that. It’s quick for you to think that, ‘Oh Lisa Raye would have done that,’ or, ‘Lisa Raye said that,” said the actress. “And I don’t like that because that very next time, it could have been very different. Da Brat is having a baby! The exciting news spread across social media as the rapper and Jesseca Dupart, confirmed that they were expecting a baby. Unfortunately, the otherwise great news transformed into a messy social media situation involving Da Brat and her sister, LisaRaye McCoy. An old interview clip with LisaRaye McCoy emerged on timelines today where she stated that she only found out about her sister’s pregnancy via social media.

Over the years, Da Brat and LisaRaye haven’t necessarily seen eye-to-eye. So the snippet of information surrounding LisaRaye’s alleged unawareness of her sister’s pregnancy created more of an issue online. However, it wasn’t true and the timing of the video being shared came as LisaRaye mourns the loss of her mother. Dupart addressed the claims in the comment section of TheShadeRoom, where she said the TMZ story that was circulating was from a year prior.

Raquel Harper explained that she didn’t have a role in the circulation of the recently resurfaced video. “The interview I did with [LisaRaye] is from months ago, not today,” Harper wrote on her Instagram Story. “I only posted because I thought it was from a story today and that my interview was just getting brought back up from something currently.” She explained in a subsequent post that many of her old interviews resurface regularly. “If I am tagged I just post period,” she wrote before denying that she was the person who posted it in the first place. “Once again, I am not the person who posted the story,” she continued. “I was minding my business and seen my name getting tagged so I reposted.”

Still, Dupart wasn’t having it. She slammed Harper for trying to stir the pot. “MORE LIKE A YEAR AGO, last FEBRUARY, she knew exactly what she was doing but she WRECKLESSLY hopped on a trending topic – while Lisa Raye is planning funeral arrangements for her mother …… 100% distasteful,” Dupart wrote. However, Harper said Dupart as lying. “I talk to [LisaRaye] while it was happening asked her what was going on so know what your talking about.”

February 22nd was a magical day, to say the least. Aside from gaining new music from Kanye West, DaBrat and Jessica Dupart have officially tied the knot! The date consisted of all two’s is believed to hold spiritual value and is best to affirm. The couple celebrated their bondage with family and friends surrounding them, including several familiar faces in the industry such as Jermaine Dupri, Eva Marcille, Rickey Smiley, Porsha Williams, and more.

“We’ve been calling each other twin flames for a while. So this date, 2/22/22, is a significant event. We just didn’t want to miss it because it comes once in a lifetime. It’s relevant. It’s just real significant to our relationship. It signifies angel numbers, and it also is reminiscent of twin flames,” Dupart told People.

In a message to Instagram, the founder of Kaleidoscope hair products penned a heartfelt message to her soon-to-be wife at the time. “I’m blessed to be able to marry my best friend today. I’ve never been so cherished and appreciated and look forward to spoiling my bish for the rest of our lives….cus the way she spoils me is indescribable.”

Long time friend of DaBrat, Jermaine Dupri, is said to have been the groomsmen while the sister of DaBrat, Lisa Raye is said to have been the bridesmaid at the wedding. Many have seen DaBrat and Lisa Raye’s relationship blossom over time, so it was great to see DaBrat pen a tearful message to her older sister following the ceremony.

“Its not too many people or occasions that she doesn’t wear white for, but on my special day it was whatever I needed from her,” Da Brat began. “This pic right here doesn’t even need a caption.
