Elsewhere, some fans are just keeping track of what’s going on and refusing to speak out until we have more information and updates to work with. After all, this went down very recently. Nevertheless, the last update we received was from an Associated Press article that went over the alleged court documents and affidavit filed by FBI agent Sarah Corcoran. In it, federal authorities allege that Lil Durk booked two flights after five alleged OTF affiliates were arrested in his home city of Chicago. They were to Dubai and Switzerland, and the feds allege that he sought to flee the country.

Lil Durk Fans React To His Arrest

Still, the nature behind these flights is unclear. Regardless, Lil Durk reportedly did not board either, and instead booked another private flight to Italy. Before the plane could leave and he could make a decision, U.S. Marshals arrested him. As for the motive behind all of this, law enforcement alleges that The Voice paid the five aforementioned individuals to carry out an unsuccessful hit on Quando Rondo in 2022. The shooting that took Rondo’s cousin Lul Pab’s life was allegedly connected to this hit. According to federal authorities’ allegations, this was in retaliation for the 2020 murder of King Von.

Lil Durk Allegedly Tried To Escape To Italy Before Arrest

News of federal authorities’ arrest of Lil Durk for alleged murder-for-hire shocked the hip-hop world today (Friday, October 25), as fans everywhere are reacting to this development and keeping their eyes out for more updates. One new alleged detail about this situation comes from an Associated Press (AP) report about FBI agent Sarah Corcoran’s affidavit and other additional federal court records. Moreover, they allege that the Chicago MC acted quickly after authorities arrested five alleged OTF members in the city. Allegedly, he booked two flights from South Florida to Switzerland and Dubai, and additionally booked a private flight to Italy to allegedly attempt to escape the country.

However, Lil Durk was arrested before he could reportedly board that last alleged flight, and it’s unclear what the motive behind the alleged Dubai and Switzerland flights are or were. U.S. Marshals apprehended him in Florida on federal conspiracy charges alleging that he paid for a hit on Quando Rondo as revenge for the murder of King Von. The shooting that allegedly ensued from this hit in 2022 resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin Lul Pab. According to court documents, two more arrests in the OTF crew may occur following the arrests of The Voice and of the five alleged members and culprits of the murder.

Federal agent Sarah Corcoran reportedly claimed in her affidavit that the group practices “violence, including murder and assault, at the direction of [Lil Durk] and to maintain their status in OTF.” This is what prosecutors allege led to the hit on Quando Rondo and the death of Lul Pab. On August 18, 2022, five alleged OTF affiliates allegedly flew from Chicago to San Diego, eventually making their way to Los Angeles via car.

“Don’t book no flights under no names involved wit me,” Durk allegedly texted a colleague, which prosecutors claim is because the five individuals allegedly purchased plane tickets and rental cars with funs he provided. In other Lil Durk news, rumors swirled that an OTF affiliate provided information to federal authorities via a wire. Other updates will continue to emerge in the near future, so keep checking in with HNHH for the latest updates.

Lil Durk Revealed His Album Release Date Just Moments Before His Arrest

Lil Durk has had a much more difficult October than most, and while he had some highs, it’s largely been a series of unfortunate lows. Many fans looked forward to the release of his new album Deep Thoughts about halfway through the month, especially after confusion surrounding a fake Love Songs 4 The Streets 3 tracklist that surfaced online. Sadly, the album faced a delay, but the Chicago rapper had updated fans yesterday (Thursday, October 24) on its status. He announced on Instagram that the project will release on November 22… Mere hours before his arrest. And so, the bad luck continued.

If you weren’t already aware, U.S. Marshals arrested Lil Durk in Florida and charged him with alleged murder-for-hire. They transported him to the Broward County Correctional Facility according to XXL and DJ Akademiks, a development that surged after a California indictment referenced him. The prosecution’s story goes that Smurk allegedly hired five men with ties to his OTF crew to carry out a hit on Quando Rondo. The alleged hit failed back in 2022, and instead, a shooting took the life of Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab.

Lil Durk Announced Deep Thoughts Release Date Hours Before Arrest

Still, it’s very unclear at press time just how deep Lil Durk is in these allegations, as we don’t know if he was the one who allegedly called the shot or if it’s just from leadership association with OTF. Reportedly, he faces the death penalty or life in prison if convicted, and authorities are holding him without bond. The Voice’s lawyers, Brian Bieber and Alek Ubieta, claim that he will appear before a federal Fort Lauderdale court later today (Friday, October 25). The five alleged OTF affiliates in the aforementioned indictment were also reportedly arrested on similar charges.

According to The Chicago Tribune, the five men face accusations of allegedly being promised “lucrative music opportunities” for the hit and using OTF-affiliated credit cards to purchase plane tickets to California and rental cars. The feud with Quando Rondo allegedly occurred due to King Von’s death in 2020. Lul Tim faced charges for this, but the court dropped that case in 2023 on claims of self-defense. No other suspects have emerged since concerning Von’s shooting. In addition, alleged court documents claim that an OTF member wore a wire to gather information for federal authorities after a roughly 12-year prison stint. With all this in mind, the release of Deep Thoughts seems even more complicated.

Lil Durk Lights Up Twitter With Shocked Fan Reactions Following Arrest

Lil Durk fans are absolutely shocked by his Florida arrest in the wee hours of Friday morning (October 25) for alleged murder-for-hire. U.S. Marshals took him to the Broward County Correctional Facility, per XXL and DJ Akademiks, just hours after a California indictment referenced him. It named five men allegedly from the OTF crew (which the Chicago rapper founded in 2010) who allegedly bought plane tickets and rental cars for California in order to carry out a hit on Quando Rondo. Durk received a murder-for-hire charge over this. On August 19, 2022, these alleged culprits shot and killed Rondo’s cousin Lul Pab, but not their intended target.

With this arrest and indictment in mind, fans are reacting wildly to this news of Lil Durk’s legal troubles and alleged crimes. Some only have jokes to say, which may be insensitive to many but, then again, that’s just how the Internet acts sometimes. Others are more sympathetic to Smurk’s attempts to better his image and hope that he can resolve this issue in court. A select few took a more serious tone and criticized him for this alleged behavior.

Lil Durk Fans React To Arrest

Meanwhile, Lil Durk’s other connections made big moves in the legal realm, but perhaps not in the way that you would expect. HIs former artists SlimeLife Shawty recently testified in the Young Thug and YSL RICO trial as a codefendant who took a plea deal. He caught a lot of flack for this online, but he clapped back at his haters in a pretty dismissive way, downplaying snitching allegations. These are two completely unrelated cases, but it’s disheartening to hear OTF’s name pop up in the legal realm often as of late. Check out more reactions to Durk’s arrest for alleged murder-for-hire down below.

Another legal problem that Lil Durk faces concerns a lawsuit from FBG Duck’s mother, who recently blasted The Voice for paying tribute at a concert. This case and overall situation is still very early in development, so take these allegations with a grain of salt and keep checking in with HNHH for the latest updates. We’ll see how this goes.

Lil Durk Arrested and Charged with Murder-for-Hire in Retaliation of King Von’s Murder

Rapper Lil Durk charged with murder for hire 10 25 2024 06 25 AM

LilDurk001

Federal authorities have arrested Lil Durk in Broward County, Florida. According to ABC Chicago, the rapper born Durk Banks was arrested by U.S. Marshals. He has no bond.

According to reports, Durk’s murder-for-hire was targeting Georgia rapper Quando Rondo, who was involved in an altercation with King Von in 2020 outside a lounge in Atlanta. Rondo and Von engaged in a fistfight, leading to Rondo’s affiliate, Lul Tim, shooting and killing Von. Rondo would make light of the situation and highlight the death in his music.

The arrest of the award-winning rapper comes hours after five people were arrested in Chicago and federal charged in California for being contracted to kill Rondo. In the indictment, unsealed in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, was the arrest of Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston. They are charged with conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire involving a death, and use of a machine gun in a violent crime resulting in death. Penalties can reach as high as death if convicted.

The five arrested are associated with “Only the Family,” known in Hip-Hop as OTF, which is led by Durk and holds Von as a member. Documents show the flights and rental cars for the five arrested were paid for with credit cards of the OTF company. The five were apprehended in Chicago and taken to Dirksen U.S. Courthouse, where they were remanded to custody before the case moved to Los Angeles.

According to The Chicago Tribune, someone part of OTF offered money and “lucrative music opportunities” in exchange for the murder of Quando Rondo. Rondo, his sister and cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, were in an Escalade in West Hollywood in August 2022 when they were shot at, resulting in the death of Robinson.

Authorities released security footage showing the OTF affiliates attempting to do the fit. The ATF team, led by Grant, ordered a hotel room, bringing several firearms, including one that was altered to be a fully automatic machine gun. Grant also rented two cars, a white BMW and a white Infiniti, to track and murder Rondo. Footage showed the cars trailing Rondo’s Escalade and three men shooting at Rondo and his family.

After the shooting, the defendants and the OTF co-conspirator ate a hamburger restaurant and discussed patment for the shooting. Four of the shooters returned to Chicago the next day.

Rapper Lil Durk charged with murder for hire 10 25 2024 06 25 AM

This arrest comes after The Dinizulu Law Group filed a civil lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court seeking to hold rapper Lil Durk, OTF, and several other music companies accountable for the fatal shooting of Chicago rapper Carlton Weekly, known as FBG Duck, on August 4, 2020. Weekly was shot outside a Gold Coast retail store, and the lawsuit also represents two bystanders who were wounded but survived the attack.

The lawsuit, announced during a news conference by Attorney Yao Dinizulu, brings multiple charges, including wrongful death, civil conspiracy, negligence, and failure to render aid. The plaintiffs seek damages not only for Weekly’s death but also for the injuries suffered by bystanders Davon Brinson and Cashae Williams. The suit names additional defendants, including Alamo Records, Sony Music Entertainment Inc., Universal Music Group Recordings Inc. (Interscope Records), and Empire Distribution Inc.

The lawsuit claims that these companies profited from the violent rivalry between OTF and FBG Duck by promoting “diss tracks” that escalated tensions. It accuses Lil Durk, the head of OTF, and other members of the group, including the late King Von, of orchestrating a campaign of intimidation and violence against FBG Duck, placing a $100,000 bounty on his life. OTF is described as a criminal enterprise that used music and social media to promote gang-related activity.

The suit also alleges misconduct by the City of Chicago, claiming police and emergency services failed to promptly aid FBG Duck, who lay alive for over 17 minutes without receiving medical attention. Dolce & Gabbana and its security firms are also named for negligence, accused of failing to take adequate safety measures.

This lawsuit follows the January conviction of six gang members in connection with FBG Duck’s death. Federal prosecutors linked the murder to a gang war fueled by social media and rap music.

A summary of the complaint can be accessed at dinizululawgroup.com.

Lil Durk Was Arrested And Charged In A Murder-For-Hire Plot, Reportedly

Lil Durk was arrested and charged in a murder-for-hire plot, CBS News and ABC7 Chicago report. Reports say the Chicago rapper was arrested in Florida by US Marshals last night (October 24).

Per TMZ, the case is regarding the August 2022 shooting that resulted in the death of Quando Rondo’s cousin, as Rondo was suspected to be involved in the 2020 death of Durk associate King Von.

As Chicago’s WGN9 reports, Durk’s arrest follows the arrest of five other men in connection to the case: Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston. The unsealed indictment reveals they face charges including “conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire resulting in death, as well as the use of, carry and discharge of firearms and a machinegun in the furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.” The five are alleged to have ties to Durk’s group Only The Family (OTF), and The Chicago Tribune notes they could face the death penalty if convicted on those charges.

The indictment claims that following Von’s death, an unnamed OTF member offered money and “lucrative music opportunities” to anybody who would kill Rondo. The indictment also alleges OTF members used an OTF-associated credit card to fly the five defendants to California to look for Rondo.

In 2022, Durk had 2019 attempted murder charges dropped. He said at the time, “I have nothing to hide. I have nothing to run from.”

Lil Durk Charged With Murder-For-Hire After Florida Arrest

Lil Durk found himself in serious legal trouble on Friday morning. The rapper was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Florida. Broward County Correctional Facility is holding Lil Durk, according to RapTV and DJ Akademiks. The Windy City rapper has experienced legal trouble in the past. The charges have never been more serious, however. Lil Durk has reportedly been charged with murder-for-hire. Broward County has released the rapper’s mugshot.

Lil Durk’s arrest came hours after a California indictment referenced him. The indictment named five men with ties to the group OTF. Lil Durk founded said group back in 2010. The indictment alleges that the men were hired to execute a hit on rapper Quando Rondo. These men were alleged to have used OTF-affiliated credit cards to book flights and rental cars to California. A death did occur on August 19, 2022, but it was not the alleged target. Instead, Quando Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab, was shot and killed. Rondo later stated that the death “hurt his heart.”

U.S. Marshals Took Lil Durk Into Custody On Friday

Murder-for-hire involving a death and conspiracy to conduct murder-for-hire are the charges that have been handed to the five men. The indictment also alleged that a member of Lil Durk’s OTF crew offered the men “lucrative music opportunities” if the alleged hit against Rondo was successful. The news came as a shock to the hip hop world. Durk’s arrest coincided with a DJ Akademiks live stream. The hip hop personality became visibly upset on camera when he learned what happened. He lamented Durk’s connection to such a tragic incident.

The timing of Lil Durk’s arrest could not have been worse. The rapper was arrested on charges relating to a non-lethal shooting in February 2019. He was released on bail, alongside the late King Von, who was also taken into custody over the shooting. October marked the month in which the charges were finally dropped. It was the murder of Von, in fact, that feds believe led to the alleged hit attempt on Quando Rondo. Durk voiced his desire to stay out of prison in a since deleted tweet from 2022. “The goal is not to go to jail,” he wrote. “So y’all will never see me do tuff sh*t on here to look street.” He has tragically fallen short of this goal.

New Indictment Alleges That Men Contracted To Kill Quando Rondo Have Ties To Lil Durk’s OTF

Five Chicago men were indicted on Thursday. They were taken in by federal officers on suspicion of being hired to kill rapper Quando Rondo. They are also suspected to have killed the rapper’s cousin. TMZ reports that the indictment was filed in U.S. District Court in L.A. The official charges include murder-for-hire involving a death, as well as use of a machine gun in a violent crime. The five men are also being charged with conspiracy to conduct murder-for-hire. To make things even more complicated, these five men are alleged to have ties to OTF, a group founded by Lil Durk.

The men listed in the indictment are Asa Houston, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, and Kavon London Grant. Court documents allege that each of these men have affiliation with OTF. They also allege that the five men used OTF-affiliated credit cars to book flights and rental cars to the scene of the shooting. Quando Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, was shot and killed on August 19, 2022. Robinson was traveling with Quando Rondo and the rapper’s entourage when shots rang out at a gas station in Beverly Grove, Los Angeles. The rapper was not injured, despite being the alleged target. Robinson, tragically, died as a result of his injuries. He was 24.

Federal officers theorize that the deadly shooting was retaliation for the murder of King Von. Von was shot and killed by an associate of Quando Rondo in 2020. The charges against the associate, Timothy “Lul Timm” Leeks, were eventually dropped. Federal officers have also alleged that OTF offered to help the five men if they carried out the hit. They allege that an unnamed member of OTF offered “lucrative music opportunities” to the person who took out Quando Rondo.

Quando Rondo is currently dealing with legal troubles of his own. The rapper is awaiting a sentencing set for December 12. He entered a plea of guilty after being charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of controlled substances. Quando Rondo decided to pen an open letter to the citizens of his native Savannah. “Savannah deserves more from me,” he wrote. “And I’m working hard to be a better person.”

Lil Durk Addresses The ‘Opportunist’ In His Circle, With The Help Of His Late Brother, On A New ‘Deep Thoughts’ Single

Lil Durk fans waiting for the Love Songs 4 The Streets 3 project are going to have to wait a while long: The “Monitoring Me” rapper is releasing a whole new album, Deep Thoughts, instead.

To celebrate Deep Thoughts‘ upcoming release, today (October 18), Lil Durk shared a new strikingly personal single, “Opportunist.”

On the DJ Bandz- and Magic-produced record, Durk addresses a supposed opportunist in his inner circle with the help of his late brother DThang. Within the record, Durk incorporates an audio file of DThang discussing his generosity and how others have attempted to exploit it.

“Check this out, I want everybody on this planet right here,” he said. “For real, for real, if you get somethin’ from me, if you get motherf*cker. Listen, I’ll send the guys money ’cause I want to. I motherf*ckin’ give the guys money ’cause I want to. So if you ask me to do somethin’ for you and I do it. Please don’t think it’s a finesse, don’t think you finessin’ DThang, please don’t.”

Later in the song, Durk briefly touched on his very public beefs that eventually took the life of longtime friend and fellow rapper King Von. “When they die, you try to claim ’em to get a name, that sh*t be hot / The last time this war was this big was B.I.G. and Pac / Flowin’ all these drugs through my system, I missed ’em / Postin’ all his lo’s on his finsta, I missed ’em / I don’t take back nothin’ when I say it, when I dissed him / Even though he dead, I read our thread ’cause I miss him,” he rapped.

Listen to “Opportunist” above.

Deep Thoughts is out 11/22 via Alamo. Find more information here.
