Eminem’s Publisher Loses $39 Million Legal Battle With Spotify

Back in 2019, Eminem’s publisher Eight Mile Style sued Spotify for roughly $39 million. In their lawsuit, they alleged that the rapper’s songs had been streamed “billions of times,” but he’d yet to be paid for it. Now, a verdict has been reached, and Spotify has come out victorious.

According to AllHipHop, the judge ruled that Spotify didn’t have the proper license, but wasn’t responsible for any lost royalties. Instead, they claim that Kobalt Music Group would have to pay the penalty if Spotify had been found guilty. Kobalt administers song rights and collects royalties, including for Eminem’s publisher. Reportedly, the Detroit artist himself was not a party in the lawsuit and was surprised to learn of its existence.

In Eight Mile’s lawsuit, the company accused Spotify of having “acted deceptively” by allegedly pretending to have licenses for hundreds of Eminem’s songs. Spotify, on the other hand, insisted that Kobalt Music Publishing was to blame. Allegedly, the company misled Spotify into thinking it controlled the administration of Eight Mile’s catalog when that was not the case.

“Eight Mile Style had every opportunity to set things right and simply chose not to do so for no apparent reason, other than that being the victim of infringement pays better than being an ordinary licensor,” Judge Aleta A. Trauger said in her ruling. She also added that it’s “surprisingly plausible that Spotify might be genuinely confused.” Trauger called the situation “inexplicable” and said Eight Mile is not the “hapless victim” it claimed to be. What do you think of Spotify coming out victorious in its legal battle against Eminem’s publisher? Are you surprised by this or not? Wack 100 Reacts To Lawsuit Rumors After Leaking Irv Gotti Stroke News

Late last month, Wack 100 revealed that Irv Gotti suffered a stroke earlier this year on his podcast. He went on to share a photo of him walking with a cane. This prompted a great deal of backlash from social media users at the time, as he faced accusations of being insensitive. Regardless, Gotti’s team confirmed the news in a statement, also stating that he’s since made a full recovery.

“Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago,” a rep for Gotti told TMZ. “He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He’s been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life.”

Wack 100 Hopes Lawsuit Rumors Are Nothing But Clickbait

Now, however, rumors have been floating around online that Wack 100 could face legal repercussions for sharing Gotti’s medical information without his or his family’s permission. For now, it’s unclear whether or not this is truly a possibility, and whether or not Gotti would even be interested in pursuing this. Either way, Wack 100 took to Instagram earlier this week to react to the rumors, making it clear that he’s not looking for any of that smoke.

This has to be click bait ‼ Please don’t get me started … Ima act like this is [cap emoji],” he wrote simply. It looks like fans will just have to wait and see whether or not there’s any truth to these rumors. Nicki Minaj Superfan Sues Her Over “Stalker” Accusations

It’s no secret that Nicki Minaj has a fiercely loyal fanbase, but according to one former Barb, he was publicly humiliated for his dedication. According to TMZ, Tameer Peak recently filed a lawsuit against the “FTCU” rapper in L.A. Superior Court. In legal documents obtained by the outlet, he claims that he was mistreated by Nicki and her supporters on multiple occasions. He’s seeking $5 million in damages for reputational harm, emotional distress, and financial loss.

Peak paints himself as an innocent fan, who helped Nicki promote her album Pink Friday 2 on social media. Regardless, he claims that he was accused of being paid to sabotage her. He also says that at one point, the performer invited him to her hotel room, where he was allegedly embarrassed in front of over 100K viewers on Instagram Live.

In his suit, Peak also recalls a run-in with Nicki and her husband Kenneth Petty during a Super Bowl weekend event back in 2020. He alleges that he was battered by Petty and that Nicki later sent him a DM about the incident. This year, the ex-Barb claims he was told by other fans that Nicki wanted him to “stop saying d*mb sh*t.” He even alleges that he was targeted on X while she interacted with listeners during Stationhead sessions. “It’s clear they’re not necessarily, you know, a full basket umm at the picnic,” Nicki allegedly wrote.

Jaidyn Alexis Checks Fan Suggesting She’s “Happy” About Blueface’s Prison Sentence

Last week, Blueface attended a court hearing where he was sentenced to four years in prison. The news took fans by surprise, as before the hearing, the rapper’s family appeared hopeful that he’d be released. Evidently, things didn’t go as they had planned, and his legal battle won’t be coming to an end any time soon.

Of course, following the unfortunate news, fans were eager to hear from those closest to Blueface. The mother of two of his kids, Jaidyn Alexis, took to X to let fans know she was working on new music. “Dnd in the studio,” she wrote. At the time, supporters took this as an indicator that she was unfazed by her ex’s legal issues. One of her recent Instagram Lives, on the other hand, appears to suggest otherwise.

Jaidyn Alexis Shuts Down Disrespectful Viewer On Instagram Live In New Clip

In a clip from the IG live, Jaidyn becomes upset after reading a comment from a viewer, who questioned how she was in good spirits amid such bad news. “Sometimes y’all piss me off,” she said. “How you so happy? B***h, I’m workin’. This is work. Talkin’ about I’m happy. You disgust me. Someone’s gotta do it … Sometimes I think y’all don’t realize that real life happens in real-time. And sometimes y’all d*mb as f**k. No shade at all.”

Jaidyn went on, reiterating that she still has to work to provide for her kids while Blueface is behind bars. She also added that she’s not “happy” her kids will be without their father for the foreseeable future. What do you think of Jaidyn Alexis clapping back at a fan who questioned her for seeming happy after Blueface received a four-year prison sentence? Are you surprised or not? 50 Cent’s $40M Wiretapping Lawsuit Gets Dismissed

50 Cent has had a lot of luck on the legal front as of late, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be running out any time soon. This week, a judge dismissed a $4 million lawsuit against the mogul, filed by Michael Caruso earlier this year. Caruso accused him of illegally recording a conversation at his office before turning it over to lawyers to use in legal proceedings. The court ruled in Fif’s favor, claiming that Caruso waited too long to file the complaint.

“These claims are time-barred. Caruso has known about the fact of the recording since 2021 and has been on inquiry notice as to who made the recording since that time,” Judge Melissa A. Crane said. “It is now 2024. The statute of limitations is two years. Hence, the claim is time-barred.”

50 Cent is currently suing Beam Suntory for roughly $6 million, alleging that Caruso and other former employees participated in a scheme to defraud his company Sire Spirits out of millions. His latest legal win is far from his first, however. Earlier this month, he beat a $1 billion lawsuit filed by former drug kingpin Cory “Ghost” Holland. He sued 50 Cent, Courtney Kemp, Starz, and Lionsgate, accusing them of using his life story as the plot of his series Power. The court sided with Fif, noting how similarities between Holland’s life and the plot of the show could be purely coincidental.

Fool thought he was GHOST😆,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram following the ruling. “Da fvck wrong wit these 🥷🏾’s man 🤨LOL @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.” What do you think of 50 Cent scoring yet another legal win this week? Blueface’s Four-Year Prison Sentence Leaves Jaidyn Alexis Unbothered

Yesterday (August 9), Blueface attended a court hearing, where he and his loved ones got some disappointing news. The rapper was handed a four-year prison sentence, which is far from what they had been expecting. His mother Karlissa Saffold had already been preparing to welcome him home. His manager Wack 100 predicts he’ll be out in roughly ten months. That’s if Blueface gets credit for 440 days served, and the state only makes him serve one-third of his remaining sentence.

Of course, it remains to be seen what actually plays out in this case, though the lengthy sentence has elicited big reactions nonetheless. Aside from Blueface’s parents, one person supporters have been particularly curious to hear from is Jaidyn Alexis. She has two children with the rapper, though they appear to have gone their separate ways earlier this year.

She’s kept pretty quiet since Blueface turned himself in back in January, and seemingly rekindled his bond with the mother of his third child, Chrisean Rock. Regardless, fans are curious about how she feels about all of this. Based on a Tweet posted shortly after the sentencing, she couldn’t care less, or at least doesn’t care to share her feelings on the internet. “dnd in the studio,” she wrote simply, making a point to leave out any mention of the major news.

Fans in Jaidyn’s replies are praising her for focusing on herself and her children amid her ex’s legal issues, and are looking forward to hearing more music from the “Stewie” performer. What do you think of Blueface receiving a four-year prison sentence at his court hearing earlier this week? Are you surprised or not? What about Jaidyn Alexis’ recent message about hitting the studio? Are you looking forward to hearing whatever it is she’s cooking up? Rick Ross Gets Sued Over Lack Of Wheelchair Accessibility At Car Show

It’s been an undoubtedly busy few months for Rick Ross, and unfortunately for the performer, it looks like he now has some new legal issues to deal with. Ross hosted his annual Car & Bike Show back in June, and a man named Darris Straughter couldn’t have been more excited to attend. In fact, he says he went the extra mile to ensure he had a great experience, paying for travel, lodging, and a ticket well in advance.

Sadly, however, Straughter was ultimately unable to go, as a wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus allegedly never arrived to pick him up as promised. As a result, Straughter has filed a lawsuit against Ross for alleged breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. He’s seeking damages, and requesting an order that will require the car show to accommodate those with disabilities in the future.

In the suit, Straughter claims that he reached out to the venue two weeks before the event to let them know that he needed accommodations for his wheelchair. Allegedly, they promised that a shuttle bus would pick him up from the parking lot to take him to the event. After hours of waiting, he gave up, and eventually decided just to return to his hotel.

The suit also states that event organizers promised a refund to anyone who didn’t get into the event. Straughter and his lawyer allege that nobody followed up with him in the end. Ross has yet to comment on the lawsuit. What do you think of Rick Ross getting hit with a new lawsuit because his car show was allegedly not wheelchair accessible? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Blueface Receives Four-Year Prison Sentence For Probation Violation

Blueface has been behind bars since January when he turned himself in for an alleged probation violation. Today, he was scheduled to appear in court for a sentencing hearing, where he’d finally learn his fate. The hearing was originally expected to take place late last month but was ultimately delayed, leaving the rapper’s fans and loved ones more eager than ever to see what takes place. It was possible that he would be released and be able to finally go home to his family. Unfortunately, however, that’s not what played out.

In anticipation, Blueface’s father Johnathan Porter Sr. hopped online to share a heartfelt message with supporters. He asked them to pray for him and his son and expressed hope that the judge would go easy on him in court. Porter Sr. later provided followers with an update, according to DJ Akademiks, revealing that Blueface was sentenced to four years in prison.

Blueface’s Father Reacts To His Son’s Sentence

For obvious reasons, he appeared heartbroken and wished his son luck. Blueface’s father isn’t the only one of his parents who was pushing for his release, however. His mother Karlissa Saffold has also been particularly vocal about her son’s legal issues. She even requested the help of Kim Kardashian earlier this year. Saffold told TMZ last month that she has a welcome home party planned for Blueface, which will have to be pushed back by quite a bit.

Blueface is certainly a polarizing figure, but social media users were also hoping that he would return home sooner rather than later, if only for the sake of his youngest child. Chrisean Jr.’s mother Chrisean Rock is also currently incarcerated and might be looking at an eight-year sentence for drug charges. What do you think of Blueface’s father revealing that the rapper was sentenced to four years in prison? Travis Scott’s Heated Police Confrontation Captured In Bodycam Footage From Miami Arrest

Earlier this year, a minor disagreement on a Miami yacht landed Travis Scott in jail. He was charged with disorderly intoxication and trespassing. Luckily, the hitmaker was released within hours, and on a private jet back to LA. Today, it was reported that the state of Florida has decided to move forward with a misdemeanor trespassing charge against him. He’ll go to trial next month. On the upside, they dropped the disorderly intoxication charge.

Now, however, police bodycam footage from his arrest has been obtained by TMZ. In it, he argues with officers as they repeatedly question why he returned to the yacht despite being told to leave. Scott tells them that when they initially asked if he’d left anything behind, he was freaked out by all of the cops. For this reason, he says he forgot some of his belongings on board. He got heated, and eventually, they put handcuffs on him.

Travis Scott Taken Into Custody Over Yacht Dispute

Footage from his initial encounter with police has also been uncovered. It shows Scott jumping off the yacht to chat with an officer. When asked what happened, he simply explained that he had rented the yacht, and its owner kicked down the door just before midnight claiming he had to leave. From there, he says he told the owner it was “disrespectful” to have entered the room like that, and added that the owner’s wife was “trippin.” At the beginning of this clip, he says that there was a lady with a firearm “threatening,” though it’s unclear whether or not the owner’s wife was who he was referring to.

While this run-in surely put a damper on the performer’s good time, he seemed to get over it pretty quickly. He even dropped merch featuring his mugshot the very next day. Young Thug Falls Asleep During YSL RICO Trial: Watch

Young Thug’s RICO trial continues, and after several months of legal proceedings, it looks like the YSL founder is worn out. In a new clip making its rounds online, he’s even seen dozing off in the courtroom as his lawyer Brian Steel speaks to the judge. While fans find the clip amusing, they certainly can’t blame Young Thug for getting in some much-needed rest. After all, his first trial began in November of last year, and his retrial shows no signs of coming to a close any time soon.

Young Thug has also been behind bars since May of 2022, which surely hasn’t helped. “106 days on trial I’d be tired too!” one Instagram user writes in The Shade Room‘s comments section. “He said WRAP IT UP,” someone else jokes.

Young Thug Looks Exhausted

Despite repeated requests for a speedy trial, it’s been anything but so far. In fact, it’s become the longest in Georgia history, which likely explains Young Thug’s exhaustion. Just last month, a new judge was assigned to his case, following two others’ recusals. While the rapper and his lawyer were admittedly relieved to have someone new overseeing the trial, it seems to have caused even more delays. To make matters more frustrating, his latest bond request was denied late last month, meaning that he’s no closer to freedom.

Fans continue to call for Young Thug’s release and to raise concerns about how he’s been treated throughout the trial. Recently, Donald Trump even appeared on Adin Ross’ stream, where he accused District Attorney Fani Willis of treating him unfairly. “I would tell [Willis] she’s gotta treat these patriots that are being all– it’s terrible. They’re going after them,” he said. “He’s gotta be treated fairly.” What do you think of Young Thug falling asleep in court? Can you blame him?
