Lola, Yung Miami, and Latto’s all-star chemistry produce an intoxicating, synergistic energy that elevates the New York-inspired single to new heights. The remix is the most recent development in the ascent of the Dizzy Banko-produced song, which has served as New York City’s soundtrack for the past year and elevated Lola Brooke to the status of one of the most promising up-and-coming musicians in the world.

Latto Denies Entering Diversion Program To Dismiss Gun Charge

Latto set the record straight following reports that she entered a program to dismiss her gun charges. The Atlanta star took to Twitter where she called “cap” on TMZ’s claims that she’s almost done a 1-year program as part of a deal to have her charges dropped. “Idk who put out that false ass information cause I’m not in no damn program,” Latto said. “Also the situation happened over a year ago & y’all never even knew until I mentioned it in the Boom pt 2 verse. Nun to ‘brag’ about. Leave me alone.”

In May 2021, police hit Latto with two charges, carrying a loaded firearm and carrying a concealed firearm. The reports claimed that Latto struck a deal that would drop the gun charges under certain conditions. The report claims she had to complete a gun safety course – which they claimed she entered in April 2022 –, perform 120 hours of community service, and refrain from being near any firearms. TMZ said that she has a court hearing in April. At this point, a judge will decide whether or not they will dismiss the firearms.

Latto Explains Gun Charge

The rapper’s gun charges really only came to light when she jumped on Mello Buckzz’s single, “Boom Pt 2.” The brief mention of the gun charge spurred curiosity among fans, who inquired about the backstory of her bar afterward. “Went to LAX w a loaded glock 17 in my Birk got locked & let out in a few hours,” she wrote on Twitter. “lmaooo booked a $75k jet to my show in Alabama & still made it on time! no cap in my rap TUH.

Latto’s previous run-ins with the law also made headlines recently. A few years ago, she recalled the time when she dealt with a bout of mistaken identity that left her behind bars for a few days. The “Big Energy” rapper spent three days in an Atlanta jail before a judge dismissed her and confirmed there was no warrant for her arrest. “I was profiled for ‘looking like’ sum bitch that robbed a n***a… I’m not no robber man,” she explained. “Jail is NOT for me btw.” We will keep you posted on any more information surrounding Latto’s gun case.

Latto Accused Of Shading Ice Spice, She Claps Back

Her critics never take a day off, and Latto is once again defending herself online. The 777 hitmaker is enjoying life as “Big Energy” continues to sit on the charts, but with success comes naysayers. Latto’s social media clap backs are well documented, and she added another to the list after she was accused of trying to subtly shade Ice Spice. The “Munch” rapper is a newcomer in the femcee arena, and as usual, fans are attempting to create a divide. This latest spat had to do with Latto reposting her birthday upload from 2020. It was then that she showed off her new Corvette while bending over in front of the luxury vehicle.

It seemed innocent enough, but people noticed the pose looked familiar. Ice Spice used a drawing of herself in a similar position for the cover of her Like…? EP, and social media users accused Latto of aiming her peer. It was attention that she didn’t appreciate. “I don’t like how y’all take my tweets & make them fit ur weak ass narratives,” she wrote in response. A user told her that she was the person who created the narrative. Latto replied, “Every time y’all accuse me of copying folks ima clear it up. Nun mo nun less.💋.”

Latto Wants Critics To Back Off

After her response circulated, Latto returned to her Instagram Story. In three slides, she shared three selfies. Over the images, she wrote, “LEAVE. ME. ALONE.” Fanbases have been called out for how they pit artists against each other, especially women. A standard narrative is that it’s challenging to get women in the Rap game to get along, but the camaraderie among femcees has been etched in Hip Hop since its inception. Additionally, Latto was seen alongside Yung Miami filming a music video with Lola Brooke earlier this week. It looked like the trio was working on the visual to a remix of Brooke’s “Don’t Play With It” hit.

Meanwhile, Latto has been taking extra hits online due to her previous fallout with Nicki Minaj. The ladies went to verbal war on Twitter during the time when the Grammy nominations were announced. Minaj took issue with her potential placement in the Pop category, and Latto’s name was quickly added to the conversation. The latter has made it clear throughout her career that she idolized Minaj, but this unfortunate moment shifted things. Check out Latto’s tweets above.

Latto’s Close To Getting 2021 Gun Charges Dismissed: Report

Latto found herself in hot water in 2021 when authorities caught her with a gun in her bag at LAX. However, she’s now a few steps away from having the charges dropped completely. According to TMZ, the “Lottery” rapper nearly completed the year-long diversion program after police charged with her carrying a loaded firearm and carrying a concealed firearm. Latto is to stray away from any firearms, complete a gun safety course, and perform 120 hours of community service.

The “Big Energy” rapper began the program in April 2022. Now, it seems that she’s only weeks away from finally avoiding any charges attached to the alleged crime. However, Latto will have to appear in court for a hearing later next month. That’s when an official decision will be made if she met all of her conditions. At this point, it looks like Latto won’t face any time or any further punishment if the court feels like she pulled through on her end of the bargain.

Big Latto stirred up a storm after admitting to carrying a gun through LAX on Mello Buckzz’s “Boom Pt. 2,” where the Atlanta star raps, “I got locked up in the airport, god damn, forgot the gun.” Shortly after, the Internet questioned the rapper about the incident. She detailed the arrest, which she described as a mistake as she went through the airport. “Went to LAX w a loaded glock 17 in my Birk got locked & let out in a few hours,” she tweeted. “Booked a $75k jet to my show in Alabama & still made it on time.”

However, this wasn’t the first time she had a run in with airport authorities. She later explained another incident where she caught a case of mistaken identity in her hometown. “Nah that was in Atlanta,” Latto explained after a fan asked if her LAX arrest was the same as when a female cop tried to make her “cough hard.” She continued, “Lol I was profiled for “looking like” sum bitch that robbed a nigga… I’m not no robber man [laughing emoji]  jail is NOT for me btw.”

Lola Brooke Seen With Yung Miami & Latto Filming Visual To “Don’t Play With It” Remix

She’s been beasting her way through Hip Hop, and fans believe Lola Brooke is next in line. If you’ve been tuned into TikTok, you would already know that the Brooklyn spitter’s “Don’t Play With It” featuring Billy B is already a viral success. Lola has been strategically edging her way into the spotlight with the help of her dedicated team. Her talents haven’t been ignored by her peers, and the praise has also rolled in. Brooke has even added a few bars to the updated version of Hitkidd’s favorite “Shabooya” and recently tore up the stage at SXSW.

As her star continues to shine, Lola Brooke may be chopping and screwing her “Don’t Play With It” hit. A clip of the pint-sized rapper filming a music video has made the rounds, and it looks as if she’s linked with Yung Miami and Latto. In the brief video, the ladies perform for cameras, surrounded by extras. Only the end of the City Girls rapper’s verse is heard, but Lola and Latto are nearby. Fans are excited about what the remix will bring.

Lola Brooke Gets Co-Sign From Kim Kardashian & North West

Kim Kardashian and North West’s TikToks have been the talk of pop culture, and last year, they gave Lola Brooke and significant co-sign. Kim is seen trying to style North’s baby hair in a video. As she struggled, the pre-teen rapped along with Brooke’s “DPWI” track. We caught up with Lola in December and asked her what it was like to see the clip. The rapper admitted that she was stunned when she first found out and had difficulty saying anything.

“I was around people when I first found out, I had just left the venue. I did a hosting in New Jersey. And my fans were tagging me, and I watched it, and I remember sitting in the car with everybody talking to me, but I couldn’t hear them. I just was zoned out,” Lola said. “And they was like, “Yo what’s up with you? You not excited?” I kept saying, I wish I was home so that I could have this moment to myself in my head because I was going crazy.” Initially, she thought it was fake and someone was playing a joke. Nope, this is real, Lola Brooke. Swipe above to see more from Lola, Latto, and Yung Miami.

Latto Recalls Being Arrested At LAX For Loaded Gun

Latto Loaded Gun

“Big Energy” rapper Latto says there is no cap in her rap. She took to social media to recall a time she was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport. Latto responded to a fan  quoting her lyrics from her recent verse on the remix of Mello Buckzz’s  “Boom Pt 2.” Latto told the fan that […]

Latto Was Arrested For Carrying A Loaded Gun At LAX Airport: ‘No Cap In My Rap’

Latto may be many things, but she is going out of her way to ensure fans that a liar isn’t one of those things revealing that she was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport. The “Lottery” rapper has several collaborations, and a few guest verse appearances lined up, including an appearance on the late Gangsta Boo’s posthumous album. But Latto’s newest featured on Chicago drill rapper Mello Buckzz’s song “Boom, Pt. 2” is causing a stir on social media.

Last week, behind-the-scenes clips of the video shot for the song were shared online. In the clips, Latto is cutting loose and letting it all hang out (quite literally) as she twerked for the cameras. Now that the video is officially out on all visual platforms, trolls took to Twitter to call Latto out for some of the lyrics in her verse.

The lines in question, “B*tches p*ssy ain’t taking nun,” and “I got locked up in da airport/ God damn forgot da gun.”

When prompted to provide context for the lines, Latto shared, “Went to LAX with a loaded Glock 17 in my Birken [bag]. Got locked [up] and let out in a few hours,” adding to ensure her travel plans were derailed she, “Booked a $75k jet to my show in Alabama & still made it on time!”

Closing with, “no cap in my rap TUH.”

Latto hails from Georgia, a state with less restrictive gun laws. However, California is much more strict when it comes to its concealed and open carry laws.

Latto Claps Back At LAX Glock Arrest Haters, Shows Out In Chanel At The Atlanta Hawks Game

It seems as though Latto can’t catch a break online recently, and this past weekend was no exception. She’s been her usual chipper self in the social media space. Still, Twitter followers were rubbed the wrong way after seeing her recall a previous arrest at LAX airport. The incident took place after she arrived with a loaded Glock stashed in her Birkin. “Got locked and let out in a few hours lmaooo,” the rap diva recalled.

“Booked a $75K jet to my show in Alabama and still made it on time! No cap in my rap TUH,” Latto wrote on Friday (March 17). At the time, many threw shade her way. They quickly pointed out that she shouldn’t have been surprised to face such consequences for bringing a weapon to an airport. “It’s her saying ‘TUH’ as if this proves she really a gangsta,” one user clowned the 777 hitmaker. “Whole time this Donna Karan is licensed to carry.”

Latto Claps Back at the Haters

On Saturday (March 18), the fashionista addressed the hate coming her way. “A mf answer a question for my fans and y’all think a bitch tryna flex going to jail. Lmao, what?” Latto asked yesterday afternoon. While some trolls continued to press her about the LAX incident, others stood supportively by the “Wheelie” rapper in her time of need. “You know you’ve made it when you can’t sneeze without offending someone,” one person quipped. “Literally they always in your business,” another pointed out.

While the internet drama certainly isn’t fun, the 24-year-old clearly had a great time attending the Atlanta Hawks NBA game at State Farm Arena to kick off her weekend. Looking as stunning as ever, she stepped out in a fun, single-strap Chanel dress, carrying a quilted light pink purse from the same brand. Her bronde hair was swept back into a ponytail, and the smile on her face made it evident that the haters aren’t stopping her shine. Keep scrolling for more photos and videos from Latto’s Friday night out, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.
