NFL Team Looking Into Trade For Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson’s future has looked uncertain since the end of last season. Jackson hasn’t hid his frustrations from the team. As Jackson has shared many details about what started his frustrations with the Baltimore Ravens. Recently, many teams have moved on from attempting to acquire the former league MVP. However, there’s still one team that has shown interest in bringing Jackosn in. The San Francisco 49ers have not yet shut the door on a potential deal to bring Jackson to the Bay Area.

Legendary radio host Dan Patrick discussed the rumor of the 49ers attempting to add Jackson to the team. With the NFL Draft coming up this Thursday, teams around the league are exploring every inch of their rosters. The 49ers seem to think they may not be set at quarterback for this upcoming season. San Francisco has dealt with a lot of QB turmoil recently. However, adding Jackson would all but put the 49ers atop the list of best teams in the league. Check out the clip of Patrick discussing the rumor below.

49ers Show Interest In Lamar Jackson

Just as Patrick mentions, any team needing a QB should look into adding Jackson. The former league MVP has dealt with injuries in the past few seasons. However, Jackson’s talent far outweighs any QB currently on the 49ers roster. But the 49ers did spend a first-round pick on Trey Lance back in 2021. Lance was supposed to be the future of San Francisco’s offense. However, a troubling injury sidelined Lance last season in what would have been his first year as the starter.

Jackson and the Ravens still are not seeing eye to eye with a future contract. QB contracts have been a huge topic of debate inside the league. Especially after the Philadelphia Eagles signed Jalen Hurts to the largest contract in NFL history. Yes, Hurts helped lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl last season. However, Hurts has yet to put up big numbers consecutively as Jackson has done. Will the 49ers make a move for Lamar Jackson during the NFL Draft? Let us know what you think in the comment section. Baltimore Ravens Extend New Offer To Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens are the latest team looking to keep their franchise QB. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Ravens have sent their star QB an updated roster. This news comes shortly after the announcement that the Philadelphia Eagles made QB Jalen Hurts the highest-paid player in the league. Unfortunately for the Ravens, the Hurts news couldn’t have come at a worse time for the time in their negotiations. It now seems Jackson will have a comparative contract on which to base his wants.

Jackson has been a start in his time in Baltimore. The former Heisman Trophy winner has added the MVP Award to his list of accolades. However, Jackson has yet to see any playoff success. Also, Jackson’s numbers have declined since his 2019 MVP season. Since that season, Jackson has only reached 20 touchdown passes or more just one time. But injuries have also played a role in that statistic. Jackson hasn’t been available for the full season in the past two years. But for Jackson, he doesn’t seem to believe that’s an issue.

Baltimore Ravens Send Jackson Another Offer

Jackson’s injuries have played a huge role in his off-season frustrations. The team’s around the league have been afraid to pull the trigger on inquiring about the superstar QB for that reason. But the Ravens have stated time and time again they have no interest in dealing Jackson. The Ravens recently added star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the roster. A move that almost certainly made Jackson feel better about the future in Baltimore. However, it hasn’t been guaranteed the team will keep him.

Hurts had a memorable season in Philadelphia. The franchise believes with this past season’s success, they can build even more success. However, the Ravens and Jackson seem to be in a stalemate with so many moving parts involved. But one has to wonder that if Jackson had an agent, he could be in Hurts’ shoes right now. Will the Baltimore Ravens and Jackson come to an agreement? Or will Hurts’ deal become the straw that breaks the break between the two? For the latest NFL news, keep it right here with HNHH.

Lamar Jackson Requested Ravens Aquire DeAndre Hopkins & OBJ: Report

Lamar Jackson reportedly told the Baltimore Ravens to acquire DeAndre Hopkins, and Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason. According to Michael Lombardi, Jackson said that if they can get it done, “we can talk.” Lombardi discussed what he’s been hearing from sources inside the organization on his podcast, The Lombardi Line.

“I was told reliably by someone who’s involved, that Lamar told them ‘get Hopkins and get Beckham,’” he said on the show. The team has successfully acquired one of its targets in Beckham. As for Hopkins, Lombardi says the team feels they won’t be able to afford to bring in both star receivers.

When the team welcomed Beckham, last week, he made no indication that Jackson would be coming back as a result of the news. “Lamar, if you’re watching, I would love to get to work with you,” the former Super Bowl champion said with a smile. “The goal was to come here and have that possibility to play with him.”

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has said that the team is operating with Jackson still in their plans for 2023. “Lamar’s in our plans; we love Lamar,” DeCosta previously said. “Our feelings about Lamar have not changed one bit since the end of the season. We’re hopeful still that we’ll get a long-term deal done. He’s the right player for this team to lead us to where we want to be. I think the locker room knows that, the organization knows that. I think the fan base knows that. So it’s ongoing. But I can’t think of a situation where we wouldn’t think that our best team is with Lamar Jackson on the team in September.”

The deadline for Jackson to ink a long-term deal with the Ravens or another team is July 17. After that date, he will have to stay in Baltimore for one more season worth $32.416 million or sit out the entire year.

Odell Beckham Jr. Sends Message To Lamar Jackson

Odell Beckham Jr.’s recent signing with the Baltimore Ravens had fans giddy. A lot of Ravens fans believed the signing all but promised the return of quarterback Lamar Jackson. However, that doesn’t seem to be the exact question. Beckham was recently asked if he knew what Jackson’s future holds. The newest Ravens receiver doesn’t have the answer. But he does want Jackson to know that he would love the opportunity to link up on the football field.

“Lamar, if you’re listening, I’d love to get to work with you,” Beckham said. Beckham’s comments were heard by the media during the star’s first appearance in Baltimore. Jackson voiced his happiness at the Ravens signing of Beckham over Twitter. In the past, Jackson has had some frustrations with the organization over the handling of the receiver position. The Ravens have not drafted one Pro Bowl in the organization’s history. Adding Beckham to the offense would for sure put confidence in Jackson’s trust in the franchise.

Odell Beckham Hopes To Share Field With Jackson

However, even with Beckham’s talent, there are still questions. For one, is Beckham going to be healthy this upcoming season? Beckham was last seen during the Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl victory back in 2022. The star receiver was on pace to have a monster game. Potentially making a solid case for Super Bowl MVP. However, a freak knee injury ended Beckham’s. Also, the injury sidelined Beckham for the entire 2022-23 season. Having the receiver in full health will be vital to the team’s success.

With everything thrown his way, it seems Odell Beckham is ready to join the Ravens. The former LSU Tiger should already be familiar with the AFC North. Beckham spent a short stint with the Cleveland Browns. However, injuries and distrust within the organization made Beckham’s time in Cleveland one to forget. But now is the time for a fresh start. Obviously, getting the chance to play with Lamar Jackson could change the entire trajectory of the receiver’s career. However, will Jackson be suiting up for Baltimore this fall? Shannon Sharpe Reveals Team That Needs Lamar Jackson

Shannon Sharpe knows the talent that Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson possesses. However, it seems the rest of the league is too afraid to make a move to land the former MVP. On Thursday’s edition of Undisputed, Sharpe had one team in mind that would have massive benefits from adding Jackson. The Indianapolis Colts are in desperate need of stability at the quarterback secret. The franchise has even told the media they considered the possibility of adding Jackson to the team. However, the move was never made. Sharpe believes the move would be a perfect fit for both parties.

“They have a defense that’s ready to compete right now. They’ve been in QB hell since Andrew Luck retired,” Sharpe stated on Thursday. The Colts have been in a quarterback nightmare since the surprising retirement of Luck. However, that is to be expected when your franchise star abruptly leaves the game. But enough time has passed. The Colts quarterback play has hindered the franchise for too long. Plugging that desperate need for a talented QB like Jackson may just be the answer the franchise has longed to look for.

Shannon Sharpe Believes The Colts Are A Playoff Team With Jackson

The hesitancy on Jackson has been appalling by those around the league. Yes, the star quarterback has injury questions. However, Jackson, at 90%, is better than some starting quarterbacks in the league. The Ravens have stated they don’t plan on moving on from Jackson. The team recently brought in Odell Beckham Jr. to bolster up the receiver position. Obviously, the move was made in hopes that Jackson would happily return to the franchise. However, Jackson has yet to make a decision on his playing future.

Time is running out for the Colts to find a competent quarterback. But maybe the team is looking toward the NFL Draft to find their franchise quarterback. However, folks like Shannon Sharpe believe the answer is already in front of them. Should the Indianapolis Colts make a move for Lamar Jackson? Would Jackson make the Colts an instant Super Bowl favorite? Please give us your thoughts on the potential move in the comment section. For the latest NFL news, keep it right here with HNHH.

Colts Avoid Questions About Lamar Jackson

The Indianapolis Colts are the team that has been most closely associated with acquiring Lamar Jackson. On paper, the fit makes sense. Indianapolis does not have a rostered quarterback considered a long-term NFL starter. The team has run a rush-heavy offense in recent seasons behind Jonathan Taylor. New head coach Shane Steichen is an offensive specialist with quarterback-specific experience. All the pieces are there for Jackson to thrive in Indianapolis.

However, acquiring Lamar Jackson is not simple. A trade would likely come at a steep price, despite Jackson’s impasse with the Ravens. Giving him an offer sheet reveals a team’s hand to the Ravens about what people are willing to pay for Jackson. Finally, the Ravens just picked up a high-caliber wide receiver in Odell Beckham Jr. While the fit for Jackson and the Colts may be strong, it’s another question about getting him there.

“We’re Focused On The Draft”

In a media session Wednesday, Colts management avoided questions about Jackson. “We’re focused on the draft and I’m focused on the guys that are in the building right now. That’s where we’re at,” Steichen told reporters. The Colts began their offseason program this week and while it is early days, it does start a timer on just how long they could hold out for Jackson. Sooner or later, they will have to make a call about who is their 2023 starting quarterback.

Another factor to consider, and one alluded to by Steichen, is the draft. If the Colts signed Jackson via an unmatched offer sheet, they would have to give the Ravens two first-round picks. Colts owner Jim Irsay was opposed to giving up that much capital. “Our belief, and my belief, has always been you build through the draft, the draft is your pipeline for success or failure,” Irsay said. The Colts currently hold the fourth overall pick in the upcoming draft. Most mock drafts project them selecting the best quarterback available at that spot. That would likely see Kentucky’s Will Levis or Florida’s Anthony Richardson head to Lucas Oil stadium. However, the Colts-Jackson rumors will not abate until the Colts finally announced their QB1.

Odell Beckham Jr. Parties with Lamar Jackson After Ravens Signing

Odell Beckham Jr. dominated the NFL news cycle over the weekend, signing a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens. The 30-year-old wide receiver did not play in the 2022 NFL season, having been cut by the Rams after their 2021 Super Bowl win. However, he will now appear in the Ravens’ backfield after signing a deal worth up to $18 million. He will likely take a starting spot alongside the Ravens’ 2021 first-round pick, Rashod Bateman.

Despite being the 12th overall pick in 2014, OBJ’s career has rarely lived up to the hype. His rookie year was one for the record books, and his sophomore season was even better. However, he has consistently struggled with injuries and other issues. He hasn’t played a full 16 games since 2019 and has the bizarre stat line of 7000+ yards but just 56 career touchdowns. However, the Ravens are in desperate need of pass catchers, after throwing the 13th-lowest touchdowns in 2022. Beckham also brings a veteran presence to a relatively young wide receiver room.

The OBJ signing adds a new layer to the Lamar Jackson saga, especially after the two of them were seen linking up Sunday night. It all began with an Instagram post from Jackson appearing to show the two players on FaceTime. Later, footage posted to Instagram showed the two players partying at LIV in Miami Beach. A sign also welcomed the two players to the club. It’s evidence that both players are happy with the deal. But what does this mean for Lamar and the Ravens?

Jackson recently revealed that he had requested a trade out of Baltimore as contract talks continued to stall. While the team stance has always been that Jackson is QB1, GM Eric DeCosta revealed last week that they would be open to taking a quarterback in the upcoming draft. However, with the signing of a receiver that Jackson is evidently excited about, have things changed? There has been no word on a trade or a new contract for Jackson. But the signing of OBJ might have given the Ravens more time to lock down the man they clearly view as the franchise quarterback.

Ravens GM Makes Shocking Draft Statement

One of the biggest questions about the 2023 NFL season is who will be lining up under center for the Baltimore Ravens. It is appearing more and more likely that Lamar Jackson will not be QB1 in Baltimore, especially after revealing he had requested a trade. However, while Jackson must operate within the confines of the non-exclusive franchise tag the Ravens placed on him, the official stance of the team is that Jackson was their QB1 going forwards.

However, that all appears to have changed thanks to a statement from Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta. It’s no secret that 2023 features a stacked draft class at quarterback. Many experts predict that four quarterbacks will be picked in the top 10, if not the top 5. However, the positional class extends beyond the likes of C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, Will Levis, and Anthony Richardson. Players like Hendon Hooker, Tanner McKee, Max Duggan, and Stetson Bennett are all viewed as early-to-mid-round picks. But DeCosta’s comments to the media on Wednesday may have completely changed the draft.

Ravens Not Afraid To Take QB

The Ravens’ pre-draft press conference on Wednesday afternoon was a tale of two stories. While the team representatives refused to answer any direct questions about Lamar Jackson’s status with the team, GM Eric DeCosta did give one eye-opening answer when asked if the Ravens would consider going quarterback in the first round. “It depends on the board, it really does,” DeCosta said. “I mean, I’d have to say yes because we have quarterbacks in our top 31. So just based on that alone, simple math, I would have to say yes.”

However, Ravens fans should not take DeCosta’s admission as a concrete sign that the team is moving on from Lamar. The Ravens hold the 22nd pick in the first round and just five picks across the entire draft. That does not give them a lot of capital to trade up with if they wanted to aggressively pursue the quarterback position. Furthermore, DeCosta also highlighted both wide receivers and cornerbacks, both positions of need for the Ravens, as potential targets. “You know us…we love corners” DeCosta said. But with the team going on record to say that quarterback is not off the table, the Lamar Jackson saga is seemingly far from over.

Lamar Jackson Reportedly Seeking Contract Similar To This NFL QB

Lamar Jackson’s contract dispute with the Ravens continues to grow. With more news breaking daily on the matter, the situation may soon reach a boiling point. Obviously, the biggest disagreement between the two is money. Jackson sees his worth as far more than what the Ravens have allegedly offered. While both sides continue to figure out a resolution, more reports are coming out on Jackson’s potential compensation.

According to Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano of ESPN, “The issue so far in contract talks, I am told, is that Jackson is insisting on getting more fully guaranteed money than the $230 million Deshaun Watson got in his deal with the Browns. After my conversations in Phoenix, I no longer believe Jackson was insisting that his deal be fully guaranteed — just that the guaranteed portion of it be larger than Watson’s.”

Lamar Jackson Making Contract Demands Known

Jackson asking for a guarantee that is larger than Deshaun Watson’s makes sense. The Cleveland Browns offered Watson the largest guaranteed contract in NFL history. However, the contract came at a bizarre time, with Watson missing two straight seasons. Watson also hasn’t achieved nearly the accolades that Jackson has earned in his career. The Browns deal with Watson could be the reason Jackson isn’t under center in Baltimore. The Watson deal also has set the bar for every future QB deal. However, the deal has yet to show a positive for the Browns. Watson looked rather rusty last season after his suspension.

The contract situation between the two parties is evolving by the hour. While the Ravens hope to work things out. Jackson is looking for the respect he believes he deserves. With an entire summer left before the regular season, this story could be a long one. Where do you stand on the Jackson contract saga? Has Lamar earned what he is asking for? Are the Ravens making a mistake by letting this drag on? Feel free to let us know your thoughts on the situation in the comment section below. Ravens Attempted To Sign This Former Number One Pick

The Baltimore Ravens have had a busy off-season with starting QB Lamar Jackson essentially seeking a trade. The Ravens have been seeking a plan B. One of those plans being a former number-one overall pick. NBC Sports has reported that Baker Mayfield was offered a contract by Baltimore. Obviously, Mayfield turned down the contract, as the sixth-year QB is now in Tampa Bay. However, knowing the Ravens offered could mean the team is worried about Jackson returning.

Mayfield spent the 2022 season in two different cities. The former Cleveland Brown opened the season in Carolina. Then, after Matthew Stafford’s injury, the Rams made a deal to bring Mayfield to Los Angeles. Mayfield has yet to live up to being a number one overall pick. The former Oklahoma Sooner hasn’t thrown for 20 touchdowns in one season of his career. Indeed, he wouldn’t be the answer the Ravens are looking for if Jackson were to exit. However, he was still a steady option at the time.

Baker Mayfield Turns Down Ravens

If you were to put yourself in Baker Mayfield’s shoes, you can see why he made the decision he did. In Tampa, Mayfield has a great shot at becoming the starting QB. In Baltimore, the starting job would be in limbo. Especially if Lamar were to return to the team. Mayfield still believes he can be a number one option, as he should. No one should be playing in the league if they don’t believe they should be playing. However, it has to feel good if you’re a Cleveland fan. Nobody would want to see an old QB in their division.

It seems as if the Ravens are keeping their options open with a QB. Mayfield turned down the opportunity, but who is left? The Ravens current backup is Tyler Huntley. The team was impressed with his play in Jackson’s absence last season. However, it will be extremely difficult to fill the void of losing Jackson. What should the Ravens do at QB?
