Shannon Sharpe And Kwame Brown Beef Over LeBron Comments

Earlier today, retired NBA player Kwame Brown had some choice words about LeBron James. Brown, the first overall pick in 2001 who never quite lived up to the hype of that draft position, was angry at LeBron following the Lakers’ exit from the playoffs.

“I have never seen a guy of your caliber, supposed caliber, you don’t even get a shot off?” Brown said at one point in his seven-minute rant. “You’re probably the best scorer in the game, you got all these points. But you were looking for a bailout, again.” At another point in the video, Brown argues that “Throughout history, the little nerds are gonna look up your statline and say ‘He’s gotta be the greatest player to ever play the game’. And people who actually play are gonna know that is bullshit.”

“Of all the people, [Brown] should never ever question anyone’s greatness,” Sharpe said on Undefeated. “You on the Mount Rushmore of all busts….you a joke real talk.” Drafted first overall by the Wizards in 2001, Brown averaged 6.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists over a 12-year career. Other players drafted after Brown in the 2001 draft include Tyson Chandler, Pau Gasol, and Tony Parker. By comparison, LeBron averaged 27.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 6.9 assists over the first 12 years of his career.

Brown has since responded to the Hall of Fame tight end’s comments. “How you gonna invalidate a number draft pick, boy?” Brown said early in his lengthy response to Sharpe. “How about you put some bass in your voice when you talk?…You on a panel with a white boy who blames his coach for not making it to college.” Brown proceeds to mock the way Sharpe talks while reiterating that Sharpe is a “guest in the house of basketball”. Brown, who received 0 votes for Rookie of the Year and never made an All-Star Game or All-NBA appearance, did not appreciate Sharpe’s take. However, what do you think? Kwame Brown Calls LeBron A “Stat Sheet Stuffer”

The Lakers were swept out of the NBA playoffs earlier this week as the Denver Nuggets reached their first-ever NBA Finals. The loss hit Lakers star LeBron James especially hard, with the twenty-year veteran admitting that he would be at least contemplating retirement this offseason.

However, LeBron has caught some heat for his playoff performances this year. This included 19 consecutive missed threes attempted in the fourth quarter of games. Furthermore, LeBron had a number of opportunities to send Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals to overtime. However, he failed to break past a stifling Nuggets defensive effort. This has led to some fierce criticism from some unusual sources.

It’s a weird claim to make in general. One muted playoffs at age 38 does not invalidate an entire career. However, what makes it weirder is who is saying it. While Kwame Brown is known for being outspoken, he doesn’t really have a leg to stand on in this fight. Drafted first overall by the Wizards in 2001, Brown averaged 6.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists over a 12-year career. Other players drafted after Brown in the 2001 draft include Tyson Chandler, Pau Gasol, and Tony Parker. By comparison, LeBron averaged 27.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 6.9 assists over the first 12 years of his career. Brown also made the playoffs a total of four times in his NBA career, putting up 8.7 points and 5.8 rebounds across 18 appearances. So, while he is entitled to his opinion, Brown might want to sit this one out.

Kwame Brown Dubs Ja Morant “NBA Dumb Boy”

Kwame Brown is someone who does not shy away from speaking on the topics of the day. Overall, Brown has found himself in beefs with the likes of Stephen A. Smith and even Gilbert Arenas. However, most of the time, it is just Brown defending himself from past slander. He is someone who does not appreciate dirt being thrown on his name. Consequently, we have gotten some very memorable social media posts from the former NBA star. Over the weekend, we got to see that all over again.

Ultimately, this is due to Ja Morant’s antics on Instagram Live. Unprompted, Morant toted a gun while listening to NBA YoungBoy. Of course, he had previously gotten in trouble for this months ago. However, he clearly has not learned his lesson. Subsequently, he could be hit with another suspension. In fact, this suspension would be a lot lengthier than the previous one. Moreover, there could be a whole bunch of endorsements that Ja would lose. Needless to say, this was a very bad move.

Kwame Brown Had A Lot To Say

During the clip above, Kwame Brown spoke about just how badly Ja Morant is messing up right now. Overall, he believes the obsession with guns is just a terrible look. Moreover, he thinks Ja is working himself out of the league. This subsequently led to Brown calling Morant “NBA Dumb Boy” which is a wild insult. Although, you can’t say that Brown isn’t a creative person. Either way, it was a reality check for Ja Morant, who continues to make some grave mistakes early in his career. Whether or not he will redeem himself, still remains to be seen.

Overall, it is going to be very interesting to see what happens next to the Grizzlies star. After a disappointing season, the Grizz clearly needs to retool. Moreover, with Morant and his antics, it remains to be seen how much longer the franchise will put up with this. Kwame Brown Claims He Would Take His Career Over LeBron’s

Kwame Brown is someone who has been roasted quite a bit over the last two decades. As a number one overall pick, he came into the NBA with a ton of weight on his shoulders. Additionally, he was taken by Michael Jordan, which made things harder.

In the end, Brown had a lengthy NBA career, although he was never the star that people hoped he would be. For people like Stephen A. Smith, he has become a punchline and it is going to be difficult for that to ever change. Regardless, Brown seems comfortable in his own skin.

Recently, Kwame Brown was on The Pivot Podcast where he spoke at length about his NBA career. He received some fairly tough questions throughout the interview, however, he handled them very well. He even made some eye-opening comments about his career and how he is compared to someone like LeBron James.

“Being a bust is better,” he said. “LeBron can’t do what I can do.” Some might find this comment to be egregious, although it is important to understand the point that is being made here. As a result of his fame and success, LeBron cannot live like a regular person. However, Brown can leave his house as he pleases while enjoying some sort of normality.

Despite this, many fans will still clown Brown for the statement. At the end of the day, it’s all about what you prioritize in life. Clearly, Brown feels comfortable with where he is, and he would not trade it for the world.

Kwame Brown Rips Gilbert Arenas For Being A “Coward”

Kwame Brown is someone who has been made the butt of the joke by many NBA fans. One can just go on YouTube and find Stephen A. Smith’s infamous rant in which he called Brown a “bonafide scrub.” Not to mention, as a former first-overall pick, there were certain expectations that were thrust onto Brown.

Subsequently, Brown has started to speak out against those who have disparaged him. Throughout 2021, Brown made numerous videos in which he took shots at Stephen A., Matt Barnes, Charlamagne Tha God, and a whole host of others. He even had a very public feud with his former teammate, Gilbert Arenas.

Kwame Brown Speaks

Recently, Brown was on The Pivot Podcast where he got to speak in-depth about his career and the various hardships he faced. The interview is incredibly raw and he portrays Brown as someone who is confident in himself. Kwame had a lot of interesting things to say, and overall, it was an interesting listen.

Brown also addressed his feud with Arenas, noting that he has very little respect for the man. Simply, Brown did not appreciate some of the threats he made throughout their back and forth.

“I don’t wanna talk about that guy, after he mentioned putting a pistol to my throat…He’s definitely what’s wrong with our community, because he’s a coward…Do you think Gilbert Arenas would say that about J.J. Redick?” Brown asked.

Brown makes a good point, and it’s clear that some of the comments Arenas made bothered him greatly. To that point, Brown explained how analysts need to watch how they talk about players. For instance, calling someone a “scrub” or a “bust” can affect fan perception to the point where they don’t want to accept community outreach from them. It’s a poignant concept to think about, and we’re sure his words will make fans think a little bit harder about how narratives affect these players in real life.
