Gucci Mane & Kodak Black Deliver On New Song, “King Snipe”

Both Gucci Mane and Kodak Black had extremely busy years in 2022, dropping multiple projects each. The rappers are evidently looking to stay hot as they enter 2023.

On Friday (January 13), the duo dropped their brand new collaborative single, “King Snipe.” The “Both” rapper took to his Twitter account to tease the song on Tuesday (January 10). “Guwop and Zuwop dropping another classic Friday,” the Alabama native writes in his tweet.

Kodak kicks things off with a triumphant verse. “When them bullets had came my way, I say, ‘I bet Kodak ain’t dyin’ / We put murders backwards after, we turned red rum to wine / I’m that n*gga that smack all the smackers, so I’m the biggest stepper,” the 25-year-old raps with confidence.

“I’ve been true to this from the jump / When I do it, consider it done / F*ck a shooter, b*tch, ’cause I’m one / On point like I’m a dot,” he subsequently raps as part of the track’s hook.

When Gucci comes in for his sole feature verse, he spits a verse reminiscent of his prime mixtape days. “Told her ring up, they didn’t know the amount / Expensive new ferries, I couldn’t even pronounce,” he spits.

The new song also arrives with an accompanying music video.

Of course, this is certainly not the first time that Gucci and Kodak have released music together. Their first track “Vibin In This Bih” is a standout on the Florida native’s 2016 mixtape, Lil Big Pac. Most notably, however, they collaborated in 2018 for the mega-hit, “Wake Up in the Sky” with Bruno Mars.

Gucci Mane & Kodak Black Tease New Music Together

Gucci Mane and Kodak Black are two artists who never fail to keep their fans fed with new music.

Lately, Gucci has been shifting his focus to promoting the artists signed to his label. Kodak, on the other hand, was busy flooding the streets with plenty of his own solo music last year.

However, it now appears as though the duo is gearing up to drop a brand new track together on Friday (January 10). “Guwop and Zuwop dropping another classic Friday @KodakBlack1k,” writes the 42-year-old in a tweet. The accompanying video shows the “ZEZE” rapper vibing to the song.

The Mr. Davis rapper did drop three albums last year. However, they all serve as compilation tapes with artists on his label, 1017 Records. The most recent of which is December’s monstrous So Icy Boyz: The Finale, which contains four discs and 80 songs featuring the likes of BIG30, Sett, the late Big Scarr and others.

Kodak dropped two full-length releases last year, Back For Everything and Kutthroat Bill: Vol. 1. The former features his most recent hit, “Super Gremlin.” Additionally, the Florida native makes a couple of appearances on Kendrick‘s latest offering, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.

The forthcoming song will serve as the duo’s sixth time officially appearing on the same track together. The first of which is on “Vibin In This Bih,” which is off of Kodak’s 2016 project, Lil Big Pac. They also both make an appearance on a DJ Khaled song from 2017, “Pull a Caper,” alongside Rick Ross. Most famously though, the two collaborated on the Atlanta native’s 2018 smash hit, “Wake Up in the Sky” with Bruno Mars.

Look out for the new track to arrive on streaming services on Friday. Other artists expected to drop this week include BabyTron and 21 Lil Harold.

Kodak Black Hints At New Album, Admits To Crying Over Saweetie

While some artists like to spend the early weeks of the new year relaxing and plotting their moves for the warmer months, others are ready with new music in the form of an album or single for their fans as soon as the clock strikes midnight.

This year, in particular, NBA YoungBoy and French Montana are already on their grind. Apparently, Kodak Black is about to join them, as he has plans to drop an album in the coming weeks. As HipHopDX reports, the Florida native joined Yungeen Ace on Instagram Live to catch up in front of fans. During the session, the artists revealed some of their big plans for 2023.

“I’m just chilling,” Yak told viewers earlier this week. “Finna drop this album next month.” Additionally, he revealed that EST Gee is just one of the features fans will hear on the unnamed project.

It seems the “Super Gremlin” hitmaker wants to work with some R&B stars as well. Both he and Yungeen agreed that they need to find the next Mariah Carey to aid them with their musical goals.

February appears to be a lucky month for Kodak. In 2022, his Back For Everything album arrived that month. It subsequently debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, moving approximately 60K units in the first week.

While music is clearly on his mind, during the same IG Live, the Broward County native couldn’t help but dish on his love life. At one point, he even admitted to shedding a few years when a rap diva chose another artist over him.

“When Saweetie picked Quavo over me she made me cry bro,” he told Ace and their audience. Though he was heartbroken, the 25-year-old was eventually able to “salute” the couple (who have since gone their separate ways) for committing to a serious relationship.

In other news, Kodak Black is just one of the many artists who appeared on our annual best-dressed list. Check the full roster of stylish stars out here, and come back later for more hip-hop news updates.

South Florida rap star Kodak Black weighed in on the Tory Lanez guilty verdict, in which he was convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion after leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s home. Black objected the judge’s decision to convicted Lanez of shooting Megan and expressed it on IG Live for fans and critics of both rappers to judge.

Kodak addressed the verdict, saying, “This sh*t ain’t right, homie. For real, bro. And Tory Lanez a good n***a, bro… This sh*t f**king with my Christmas Eve. Everybody sh*t ain’t for me to speak on, but it’s like n****s ain’t finna talk about that. N****s finna act like this sh*t ain’t never happen. I don’t know, I wasn’t in the courtroom. Kodak Black Proudly Represents His Haitian Roots In Anuel AA’s ‘Sufro’ Video

Kodak Black is tapping into the Latin music market with Anuel AA. The Puerto Rican superstar teamed up with Black and Ñengo Flow for his swaggering “Sufro” video that was released yesterday (December 27).

On his latest album LLNM2, or Las Leyendas Nunca Mueren 2, Anuel AA teamed up with multiple American rap stars. Kodak Black features on the searing “Sufro.” Anuel AA returned to his Latin trap roots while blending in salsa music with sample of Gilberto Santa Rosa’s classic “Me Volvieron A Hablar De Ella.” In his guest verse, Black represents his Haitian roots by rapping a bit in Creole. Ñengo Flow rounds out the collaboration with his fiery verse.

In the video for “Sufro,” Anuel AA performs the song on top of a convenience store. He later parties with Ñengo Flow and Black, who proudly represents and waves his Haitian flag. Other hip-hop stars who feature on Anuel AA’s album include Lil Durk in the song “1ro” and DaBaby for their collaboration “Wakanda.”

Anuel AA’s album includes a whopping 33 tracks. French DJ David Guetta joined him on “Vibra.” Anuel AA’s wife, Yailin La Más Viral, featured on two songs. She teamed up with Anuel AA, Jowell y Randy, and De La Ghetto for the track “La Máquina.” Last week, Ñengo Flow released the song “Gato De Noche” featuring Bad Bunny.
