In his highly anticipated debut for the Dallas Mavericks, Klay Thompson showcased his shooting prowess. Thompson set a franchise record for most 3-pointers in a Mavericks debut by hitting 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. Thompson’s 22-point performance helped Dallas secure a 120-109 season-opening victory over the San Antonio Spurs, marking a strong start for the newly formed trio of Thompson, Luka Dončić, and Kyrie Irving.

Dallas, coming off a Western Conference Finals run, hopes Thompson’s sharpshooting can be the missing piece for an NBA title push. Thompson recorded seven rebounds and three steals, combining with Dončić (28 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists) and Irving (15 points, 2 assists, 2 steals) for a total of 65 points. “Wow. Just incredible … I’m not satisfied, but I’m happy for what we did tonight,” Thompson remarked post-game.

Thompson wasted no time making his mark, hitting his first bucket and 3-pointer early, and helped spark a decisive 21-7 run in the fourth quarter that sealed the win. Meanwhile, Chris Paul, also making his debut with a new team, led the Spurs with eight assists and three points.

For San Antonio, rookie Victor Wembanyama contributed 17 points, nine rebounds, and a block, while Jeremy Sochan and Julian Champagnie topped the Spurs’ scoring with 18 points apiece. Highlights of the game included a dazzling no-look assist from Dončić followed by Thompson’s confident 3-pointer, reflecting the potential chemistry of this Dallas lineup as they set their sights on an NBA title.

Keegan Murry and Kings Blast Warriors into Offseason of Questions

In a stunning turn of events, the Sacramento Kings avenged last year’s playoff defeat by eliminating the Golden State Warriors with a commanding 118-94 victory in the SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament. Led by Keegan Murray’s explosive performance, the Kings showcased their dominance on both ends of the court, flipping the script from their previous postseason encounter.

Murray, who ignited the Kings’ offense with a game-high 32 points and eight three-pointers, set the tone early in the game. Supported by strong contributions from De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, who combined for 40 points, the Kings’ starting lineup proved too much for the Warriors to handle.

Despite a valiant effort from Warriors’ star Stephen Curry, who scored 22 points, the Kings’ suffocating defense limited his impact and disrupted the Warriors’ offensive rhythm throughout the game. Notably, Klay Thompson struggled, going 0 for 10 in 32 minutes of play.

In a display of depth and resilience, the Kings’ bench players, including Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and Brandon Podziemski, stepped up with a collective 37 points, amplifying the team’s offensive output.

The Warriors now enter free agency with a roster that needs tweaking and Thompson, who is unrestricted.

The victory marks a significant milestone for the Kings, who broke their winless streak in winner-take-all games and now look ahead to their next challenge against the New Orleans Pelicans. With an opportunity to secure their first win of the season against the Pelicans, the Kings are determined to carry their momentum forward and make a statement in their upcoming matchup.

As the Kings prepare to face the Pelicans on Friday, fans eagerly anticipate another thrilling showdown between the two teams, with the Kings aiming to turn the tide and emerge victorious against their formidable opponents.

Jim Jones & Juelz Santana Question Steph & Klay’s “Splash Brothers” Title

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, arguably one of the greatest shooting duos in NBA history, are better known by their moniker: the Splash Brothers. However, apparently this claim is nothing new, according to some OG New York MCs. Moreover, Jim Jones and Juelz Santana took to social media on Thursday (December 21) to claim that they called themselves the Splash Bros long before either basketball player was in the Golden State Warriors. It’s unclear exactly what prompted this complaint after ten years under the title– at least, for Steph and Klay. It’s also different types of “splashing” here: the Dipset duo has the drip, and the four-time champions make it rain from 3 on the boards.

“The original Splash Bros,” Jim Jones exclaimed. “I don’t know what Steph and Klay was talking about, but we been splashing before they been balling. We got the receipts to show it. Right now, we trying to figure out who decides war. Stop playing with us. This ain’t fashion, this is splashing. Pardon the drip.” “Dipset, us,” Juelz Santana added in the video below. “You see me in the middle of Harlem.”

Jim Jones & Juelz Santana Call Out Steph Curry & Klay Thompson: Watch

Regardless of this, don’t think for a second that the likes of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson aren’t welcome in hip-hop. Never mind the endless lyrical references. The former in particular is even contributing to preserving an indelible cultural legacy in the game. His company Unanimous Media is producing an upcoming documentary on Mac Dre. It will chronicle the massive stamp he left behind on the Bay Area and West Coast hip-hop as a whole. It’s just one of many ways in which he’s been able to make a connection beyond pure association.

“Mac Dre is a cultural icon who made a tremendous impact on the Bay Area and beyond through his music and pioneering creativity,” Curry stated. “We’re honored to work with Mac Dre’s incredible mother, Wanda, to tell her son’s life story with respect and dignity for fans, the Bay Area community, and music lovers alike.” We’ll see how the Splash Brothers continue their dynamic– no matter which one you’re talking about. Draymond Green Ejected After Wild Warriors-Timberwolves Brawl

Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Jaden McDaniels were all ejected less than two minutes into Tuesday night’s in-season tournament matchup between the Warriors and Timberwolves. The brawl broke out after Thompson and McDaniels clashed in transition. McDaniels pulled on Thompson’s jersey while the latter contested for a long rebound and the pair remained tangled up amid the ensuing breakaway. The two proceeded to start fighting, leading to a game-stopping brawl. Amid the chaos, Green was seen putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock.

After the game, a tight 104-101 Timberwolves win, Gobert appeared to make light of the situation. “Every time Steph doesn’t play, [Green] doesn’t want to play without his guy Steph, so he does anything he can to get ejected,” Gobert told reporters. Furthermore, the French star referred to Green’s actions as “clown behavior” on multiple occasions through his post-game availability. However, Warriors coach Steve Kerr defended Green. “As far as the Draymond piece of it, Rudy had his hands on Klay’s neck. That’s why Draymond went after Rudy.”

Green Returns To Controversy

After Jordan Poole was traded to the Wizards in the offseason, and Green preached turning over a new leaf, Warriors fans were likely hopeful that the team could go a season without controversy. However, a cloud now hangs over the Bay Area. Last year, it was Green punching a teammate. This season, he’s now been seen putting an opposing player in a headlock. The NBA is yet to hand down a punishment to Green and the other players who were ejected from last night’s affair. However, it’s likely that Green will be suspended for at least a few games.

As for the Warriors, it’s yet another smudge on an already middling season. The addition of Chris Paul was widely hailed as a move that helped make the Warriors a major contender in the West. However, they are 6-6 and have lost four in a row. That comes after starting the season 5-1. Even with Curry expected to return from injury sooner rather than later, the team will now likely have to survive without the rest of their big three for a significant portion of their upcoming slate. Next up for Golden State is a doubleheader against the 7-4 Thunder.

Paul George Blasts Devin Booker’s Clapback Amid Podcast Comment Beef

Paul George and Devin Booker have been beefing for a few years now. The origin of their beef appears to be a 2021 incident in which, during an on-court scuffle, Booker called George “soft.” The two players, who face each other multiple times a year in the Western Conference, have been at odds ever since. However, that beef boiled over in a recent episode of George’s Podcast P. George asked guest Klay Thompson about the “four rings” taunt he dropped on Booker during a game in 2022.

Thompson said he regretted the taunt. “I was not where I needed to be. Stuff doesn’t age well, and that didn’t age well for me. I don’t need to be flexing four rings, bro. Everybody knows that, that’s on Wikipedia. My game wasn’t where it was at, and we all get insecure at times. I’m man enough to admit we all have our moments of weakness. I’m not really proud of that one.” Later, on Instagram, Booker made two comments, tagging Thompson alongside a salute emoji and tagging George alongside the comment “Is that the answer u was lookin for?”

George Responds To Booker

It didn’t take George long to issue a response of his own. While steaming on Twitch, the Clippers veteran addressed Booker’s Instagram comments. “My thoughts on Booker’s comments?” Paul began. “I mean, he didn’t really say nothing other that what none of us wanted to hear. I don’t really care – it’s Klay’s answer, y’know what I mean? That’s Klay’s answer. I asked a question, Klay gave his response. That’s Klay’s answer. I don’t know what that was supposed to mean. Sorry ass response, bro. I don’t know what that was supposed to mean.”

It’s clear that George wasn’t impressed by Booker’s reply. Furthermore, it appears that George is at best confused as to why Booker felt the need to insert himself into the conversation where there was no real beef to be had. At the time of writing, Booker has not responded to George’s clapback. Schedules for the 2023-24 season aren’t out yet, meaning we don’t know how early George and Booker will meet on the court. However, there is the potential for some confrontation if they are going to trade blows throughout this offseason.

Klay Thompson Speaks On The Pain Of The 2016 NBA Finals

Klay Thompson has been an essential part of the Golden State Warriors dynasty. Although he missed two years with injuries, his presence was felt as soon as he returned. The team won the NBA title in 2022, which gave Thompson and company his fourth title. Overall, it was a massive accomplishment that cemented this team as one of the great dynasties of our time. That said, there is still one blip on the Warriors’ resume. Of course, we are talking about the 2016 NBA Finals, where the team gave up a 3-1 series lead and lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Recently, Thompson was a guest on Podcast P with Paul George. During this interview, George asked Klay about what happened in 2016. As you can imagine, Thompson and his teammates are still fairly heartbroken about what happened. However, he noted that it was simply an anomaly and it led to better things for the team. In his eyes, without the incident in 2016, the Warriors would never have gotten Kevin Durant.

Klay Thompson Speaks

“Honestly I thought we were good even going back to Oakland [for Game 7]. I remember being like, we don’t lose at home. The last time we did it took Kyrie and LeBron going for 40 a piece, the first time in Finals history. So I’m like alright anomalies happen…,” Thompson said. […] “Why are you making me do this Paul? This hurts man f**k. But I don’t know if we don’t win we might not get Kevin [Durant] so like it all worked out but that one hurt. I’m not going to admit when it was slipping away, there’s too much pride to do that. It still hurts. You’re welcome city of Cleveland.”

That is certainly one way to look at it. However, despite all of their success in the NBA Finals, fans will never forget how they messed up big time seven years ago. Let us know what you think of Thompson’s take on the fiasco, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the sports world.

Jordan Poole Addresses Questions About Draymond Green’s Role In His Warriors Departure

Jordan Poole discussed his relationships with his former Warriors teammates while speaking with the media over the weekend. When asked about the role Draymond Green played in his departure following their infamous preseason spat, last year, he said that he’s focused on his current team.

“We’re in Washington now,” Poole told the reporter. “Playing with [Kyle Kuzma], great duo. Being able to really flourish, expand your game and help a new team. Help lead an entire group of guys, it’s a challenge that we’re up for… Everybody’s locked in, wants to be here, start something that we can have that can be special.”

Poole also discussed his relationship with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson specifically. He labeled them the best shooters of all time while revealing that he still feels he can call them any time he needs. “Those are the two greatest shooters of all time, in my opinion, personally,” Poole said. “It’s just things that you learn in practice, in the game, on the road that you wouldn’t be able to learn not being in the mix. And I’m thankful for that. I’m grateful for that. You learn, you apply it to what your skill set [is], the things that you want to be able to be good at.”

“I also built a relationship to where I can ask them. I can text Steph, I can text Klay, I can call them and just have a conversation. That doesn’t leave, that doesn’t go anywhere,” Poole continued. “If anything, I just know the plays that they run.”
