After sharing singles “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me,” “Adore U,” and “Ground (Cotton Candy Skies),” Khalid has revealed the tracklist for his upcoming album, Sincere. There is only one feature on the album: English indie-pop singer and songwriter Arlo Parks.

Khalid previously called Sincere “a combination of my life experiences, it takes inspiration from conversations that I have had with my fans, supporters, and the people that love me. When I listen back to this project, I hear a sound that’s so unique and represents me at my best. This album is me at 26, continuing to evolve with the knowledge that I have garnered throughout the years.”

The album will be the El Paso, Texas native’s first full-length release since 2019’s Free Spirit, although he also released the mixtape Scenic Drive in 2021. Free Spirit topped the Billboard 200 chart with 226,000 album-equivalent units sold/streamed and featured the singles, “Better,” “Right Back,” “Saturday Nights,” and “Talk.”

That Sincere was completed and is coming soon is a wonder in itself; in 2021, he called the making of the album, then titled Everything Is Changing, “overwhelming.” However, it certainly appears he was able to persevere and get it done. You can check out the tracklist below.

Khalid Is Thankful For His Musical Journey On “Ground”

Khalid still remains to be one of the biggest R&B/pop stars of this generation. Even though it feels like you don’t hear his name as much as you might have in the late 2010’s, he hasn’t gone anywhere. He still pulls elite numbers on streaming services and radio play even without a new album since 2021. However, the El Paso, Texas native will be following up Scenic Drive (The Tape) very soon. In fact, the LP drought will end on August 2 when he comes through with Sincere, his third studio tape. So far, the “Young Dumb & Broke” singer has put out two singles for it, “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me” and “Adore U”. But Khalid is coming back for thirds with “Ground”.

Overall, this track finds the veteran hitmaker at his most introspective, as he details a past psychedelic trip. According to Uproxx, Khalid shared an announcement of “Ground”, as well as the story behind it. “Years ago, through moments of uncertainty, I really began to question what my purpose was as an artist”, he began. “I started my own personal journey through psychedelics in 2021 and I’ll never forget the moment this song came to my mind. Just like the random mountain I climbed in Arizona, life is an uphill battle. As beautiful as the top may seem, I’m so happy to embrace the ground that I walk on”.

When you read the lyrics on the surface, it sounds like another relationship cut. But with this explanation in mind, you start to pick up on how clever the writing actually is. He is singing about himself to himself across the track’s 3:07 runtime. Overall, it is a beautiful song from Khalid and it really evokes a sense of self-belief and never giving up on the road to prosperity. With song’s like this, Sincere looks to be a top-flight record for him.

Cotton-candy-colored skies even put a smile on my broken muse
Somethin’ ’bout the sunset pleases me and brings out the best in you
I could stare at you all evenin’, meltin’ into the mountainside
Now I’m focusin’ on my breathin’, wonderin’ how I got so high

Khalid’s Dreamy ‘Ground (Cotton Candy Skies)’ Sees Him Find His Footing In An Uncertain World

With the release of his highly anticipated third album Sincere just weeks away, Khalid follows up its singles “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me” and “Adore U” with another introspective, dreamy track, “Ground (Cotton Candy Skies).”

Ahead of the song’s release, Khalid shared some of the background behind its creation, crediting it partly to psychedelics.

Ground is finally getting released tonight. Years ago, through moments of uncertainty, I really began to question what my purpose was as an artist. I started my own personal journey through psychedelics in 2021 and I’ll never forget the moment this song came to my mind. Just like the random mountain I climbed in Arizona, life is an uphill battle. As beautiful as the top may seem, I’m so happy to embrace the ground that I walk on. My 3rd album is only 2 weeks away (finally!) and this all feels like the biggest reset for me. I feel so reminiscent to how I did when I first started my career 8 years ago. I can’t wait for all of you to experience the album, so until then… hopefully this holds you over.

Khalid’s Long-Awaited Third Album Is Called ‘Sincere’ And The Release Date Isn’t Far Away

Khalid 2024

Khalid has impressed recently with the singles “Adore U” and “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me.” Now, we know the fate of those songs: They’ll be included on Sincere, the new album (Khalid’s third) that was announced today, July 1. The project is set for release on August 2.

In a statement, Khalid says of the album, “Sincere is a combination of my life experiences, it takes inspiration from conversations that I have had with my fans, supporters, and the people that love me. When I listen back to this project, I hear a sound that’s so unique and represents me at my best. This album is me at 26, continuing to evolve with the knowledge that I have garnered throughout the years.”

A press release says the project “showcases Khalid’s evolution as an artist and person and explores the all-too-relatable feelings of growing up.”

Meanwhile, almost exactly a year ago now, Khalid found himself in a car accident, which forced Ed Sheeran to open for himself on his Mathematics Tour. It was reported at the time that Khalid “had pulled over after his car started to overheat, got into the passenger seat, then was hit by a passing car.”

Khalid Finds His Groove On Seductive New Single “Adore U”

Khalid broke out as a pop star. His debut single, “Location,” was a top 20 crossover hit, and he’s followed this trajectory for the bulk of his career. Khalid’s vocals are smooth, but he never pushes them too far in a particular genre direction. That’s what makes his new single, “Adore U,” so interesting. The singer, who hasn’t dropped an album since 2021, gives fans a song that is explicitly more R&B than anything he has attempted in a long time. And it works.

“Adore U” is not trying to be a snappy radio hit. It prides itself on mood, and despite being less than three minutes, it packs a lot. The lyrics are romantic, per Khalid’s usual, but there’s more of a wistfulness than usual. Call it maturity, or just a lyrical change to suit the song. The chorus of the song is buttery smooth. “High, we should just smoke. We should get high, we should just,” he sings. “High, we should just float
If you can fly, we should just (Fall into my arms, let mе adore you).” The short runtime works in favor of the song’s replay value. If this is a sign of what Khalid’s forthcoming album is going to sound like, then get ready for lots of of “mature” thinkpieces about his musical progression. Not a bad thing. Based on this song, it’s actually pretty exciting.

Khalid Seeks To Heal Long-Distance Heartache On His New Single, ‘Adore U’

Khalid has shared his new single, “Adore U.” Never one to hide from his emotions, Khalid is dealing with a different type of pain on his latest release.

“Adore U” features Khalid lamenting someone, who appears to be maintaining their distance from him. Whether its physical or emotional distance, Khalid is hoping to heal things, and return to a place of pure love.

“Thousand miles apart and you’re still in my heart / Can we take it back? I’m waiting at the start /Fly me to the moon and now I’m seeing stars when we touch,” he sings on the song’s hook.

Over the course of the song, Khalid repeats a simple remedy to bandage each other’s hearts.

“Fall into my arms / Let me adore you,” he says.

It’s been five years since Khalid has released a proper album, and fans are itching for the follow up to his 2019 sophomore album, Free Spirit. But over the course of the past month, the El Paso native has been teasing a new project. Two weeks ago, he hinted that the wait for a new album may be just about over, sharing a photo carousel with the caption reading “5 years later.
Here we go again.” A week prior, Khalid hinted that his new project is in the “mixing/mastering” phase.

Khalid Announced His Upcoming Single ‘Adore U’ And It’s Dropping Soon

Two months ago, former American Teen Khalid returned with the first single from his long-awaited third studio album, “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me.” A brokenhearted ballad warning a potential paramour to stay away for her own safety, the single signaled the next chapter in the story of Khalid is rapidly approaching.

The next page in that chapter will be a follow-up single, “Adore U,” which Khalid announced today on his social media channels, sharing the single artwork and promising its release on June 14th.

As with “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me,” Khalid shared a snippet of the song ahead of its release. It takes a more openhearted approach than its predecessor, with Khalid inviting his companion to “fall into my arms.”

Although the title of Khalid’s album has been known for some time, it’s been through a long gestation process that has seen Khalid slowly work his way toward a version of the project that he feels best serves his artistic vision. Announced in 2021 as Everything Is Changing, the album will be Khalid’s first full-length release since dropping his second album, Free Spirit, in 2019. In the meantime, he released a mixtape, Scenic Drive, in 2021.

“Adore U” is out on 6/14 via RCA.

Khalid Wants To Break The Cycle Of Heartbreak On His New Single, ‘Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me’

Over the course of his career, Khalid has shown to be the songbird of his generation. But while he may deliver beautiful vocals and lyrics, he issues the painful reminder — he’s a victim of heartbreak, like everyone else out here. Tonight (April 4), the El Paso native has shared his new single, “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me,” which serves as a fair warning to prospective lovers.

On “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me,” Khalid delivers his signature baritone vocals over a smooth R&B track, issuing a notice to a woman that if she gets too invested, things may not end well.

“I hope that you believe in the end that I got you / How can I move forward when every relationship I get in / Don’t hit the same ’cause it’s not you?,” sings Khalid on the song’s chorus.

The song features an interpolation of Alicia Keys’ “Unthinkable (I’m Ready),” as he sings the 2009 song’s chorus in the introductory verse.

Earlier this week, Khalid celebrated the fifth anniversary of his sophomore album Free Spirit, which spawned hits like “Better” and the Disclosure collaboration, “Talk.” As Khalid kicks off his new era, he sounds more self-aware than ever, launching the once-teen king into a full-fledged R&B powerhouse.
