Kendrick Perkins Fires Shots At LeBorn, Calls Him Sensitive For Unfollowing Him

Every time a prominent NBA player follows or unfollows another prominent NBA player, the Twitter account NBA Alerts announces the change. Throughout a season, there are many good reasons why media people and active athletes might follow and unfollow one another, but occasionally, an update sticks out. LeBron James reportedly made the decision to unfollow several users on X on Friday, including ESPN NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins, Ben Simmons, and Blake Griffin. On Monday, the First Take crew made the perplexing choice to discuss LeBron James unfollowing ESPN commentator Kendrick Perkins on social media for 12 minutes.

On his podcast Mind the Game a few days prior to the NBA Finals, LeBron James gave Dallas Mavericks player Kyrie Irving kudos for reaching the championship round once more. James complimented him and said that although he was happy for him. In the 2016 NBA Finals, the two helped the Cleveland Cavaliers pull off an incredible comeback victory over the Golden State Warriors. Perkins called James out for purposefully interrupting the discourse, as Perkins understood the remark to be. LeBron apparently unfollowed Perk after this comment. Then, on Monday, First Take invited Perkins to discuss being unfollowed despite the NBA Finals going on.

Kendrick Perkins Calls LeBron James Sensitive For Unfollowing Him

“Imagine unfollowing me on Twitter, but you still gotta wake up and watch me on TV every day because I ain’t going nowhere any time soon,” Kendrick Perkins said. “That’s no. 1. No. 2, I think LeBron James got sensitive over the last couple weeks because I’ve been calling him out or have to speak on certain things that he may disagree with — like the firing of Darvin Ham or the coaching search for the Lakers, or even having to touch on the Bronny James situation when it comes down to dealing with the draft.” Perkins clarified that he was dissatisfied after years of publicly defending James.

Kendrick Perkins said, “Bron, I’ve been knowing you since 1999, brother.” He continued, “We played AAU basketball together… We played in the McDonald’s All-American Game together. We were in the same draft. You have my phone number! If you had a problem with anything I said, we could’ve picked up the phone and had a conversation, but instead, you took to the public. You knew the world was gonna see it, eventually, that you unfollowed me because they have all these stalkers that have their stuff on alert. We’re living in weird times.” Overall, Big Perk might be the most sensitive person in this situation.

Kendrick Perkins Goes In On Defensive Player Of The Year Rudy Gobert

The Minnesota Timberwolves have just lost two straight games to the Denver Nuggets. The Timberwolves got out to an incredible 2-0 lead, winning both games in Denver. But the Champs responded like champs and dismantled the Wolves in Minnesota to even the series. ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins had some strong words for the Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert. Perk went in on the Defensive Player of the Year, blaming the Timberwolves’ losses on the Frenchmen.

After the last game, Perkins sent out a tweet about Rudy Gobert. he wrote in the tweet,”I just don’t understand how Gobert go from DPOY to a defensive liability. I mean damn!” The Denver Nuggets MVP Nikola Jokic had his way with Gobert. To Be fair, no one can stop Jokic. The game plan for Nikola was to go at Rudy Gobert as much as possible, and it clearly worked. Perkins is confounded as to why Gobert is overmatched when he is supposed to be the best defensive player in the league.

Kendrick Perkins Says Gobert Needs To Step Up

Perkins said Gobert needs to step up as the DPOY. Perk asserted, “Isn’t Rudy Gobert the DPOY? Why is it all the time he’s the DPOY in the regular season but he’s a defensive liability come playoff time?” The stats don’t really back up Rudy being the root of the problem. When Gobert is playing in the playoffs, the Wolves are +15.9 points per 100 possessions; when he is not, they are -4.9. That means that they are a better team overall when he is on the court. Perk is going off the eye test, and it doesn’t look good when Jokic is toying with the DPOY. No one can “stop” Jokic, even Rudy.

Tonight is a crucial game for both teams. The Timberwolves, having lost two straight, need to win this one, or it is very unlikely that they win two in a row. Despite the Timberwolves dropping two straight losses, the series has been very entertaining. Denver really responded like Champions. Jokic has reminded everyone why he is a three-time MVP. Overall, tonight is going to be some high-stakes hoops that everyone should tune in to watch.

Kendrick Perkins Says He Wishes LeBron James Would Retire

The Los Angeles Lakers, led by LeBron James, were eliminated from the playoffs by the Denver Nuggets. Following their playoff exit, the Lakers fired head coach Darvin Ham after two seasons with the team. During First Take, the firing of Ham and LeBron’s part in it became the subject. The argument was that LeBron doesn’t take responsibility after losses, and the coach usually has to take the fall. LeBron has had 9 coaches in the NBA and will be receiving his 10th head coach in his two decades in the league. LeBron is one great player who hasn’t had a long tenure with a great coach, as Stephen A. Smith, Kendrick Perkins, and Shannon Sharpe discussed.

Former NBA player and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins has made the audacious and divisive suggestion that LeBron James, who is considered to be among the game’s best players of all time, should retire in order to preserve his legacy. The statement has given fans mixed feelings for both his co-hosts and fans. Big Perk thinks all the drama and blame game after failed seasons are hurting how we ultimately view LeBron James and his GOAT status. It’s an interesting take and one that only Perkins could cook up.

Kendrick Perkins Says LeBron Should Retire To Protect His Legacy

Kendrick Perkins is at his breaking point with LeBron. Perk says the coaching careful around LeBron is, in fact, hurting his case for being the greatest of all time. He said he is now questioning his position of LeBron Being the greatest over Jordan. Perkins says LeBron has never taken accountability for falling short. He then says Darvin Ham’s firing makes him look bad. Big Perk goes on to conclude his take, saying, “I wish LeBron James would retire… The more LeBron James continues to play the game of basketball, the more it’s going to hurt his legacy and the more it’s going to continue to hurt his GOAT argument.”

LeBron is a lightning rod for discourse because he is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, to do it. The Laker’s future is up in the air, and so is Lebron’s. LeBron has a $50 million dollar player option next season. The 39-year-old star’s basketball life is about to end. Maybe Perk is right, and LeBron should retire to preserve his status as one of the two greatest players ever. Overall, the balls are in Lebron’s court.

Kendrick Perkins Pops Off On Steve Kerr And Invokes Finesse2Tymes

Kendrick Perkins is someone who is very opinionated and is never ashamed to show that. Overall, he has had some very interesting moments on First Take. For the most part, he has actually even angered some folks with what he has to say. However, he does try to remain fair and objective on certain topics, as long as they have nothing to do with LeBron James. That said, Perkins was on First Take this morning as the show returned from the Christmas break.

Stephen A. Smith was not on the program this morning, so you know the takes had to be hot to keep fans engaged. Well, they spoke about none other than Steve Kerr, who was upset with the officiating while playing the Denver Nuggets. Kerr felt as though Nikola Jokic was trying to fish for fouls and that the officials were letting him do so. These complaints led to a take from Perkins in which he was actually quite annoyed with Kerr. Effectively, he thinks the Warriors head coach is a massive hypocrite.

Kendrick Perkins Speaks His Mind

Perkins said that the Warriors love to complain about the things that they have done for years at this point. He even invoked the lyrics of Finesse2Tymes, who once said “it’s cool when they do it, it’s a problem when I do it.” It was an interesting analogy to use although it certainly makes sense. At this point, the Warriors are a team in decline and they don’t seem to know how to handle that. As a result, they are complaining about everything, and players like Draymond Green are lashing out more frequently.

Kendrick Perkins Claims Kobe Bryant’s Comeback From Rape Allegations Gave Him “Best Story In NBA History”

In July 2003, a 19-year-old woman accused Lakers star Kobe Bryant of sexual assault. She alleged that Bryant had raped her in his hotel room at The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera in Edwards, Colorado. Bryant’s accuser, whose identity was later leaked to the media, worked at the hotel. Bryant initially denied that he had had sex with the woman. However, the discovery of physical evidence led him to change his story. Instead, Bryant claimed that he had consensual intercourse with the woman. After an arrest warrant was issued for Bryant, he surrendered to police in Colorado. Subsequently, he was formally charged with sexual assault.

The case was front-page news for months, with Bryant’s legal team painting his accuser as a promiscuous, mentally ill individual. Furthermore, multiple outlets leaked the woman’s identity, leading to her receiving death threats and other hate mail. The legal saga ended when the woman refused to testify at the trial, leading to the charges being dismissed. The following day, Bryant released an apology in which he denied that he had raped the woman. However, somewhat bizarrely, he said he understood how “how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter.”

Kendrick Perkins References Rape Allegations While Hyping Kobe

Speaking on First Take in July 2023, Kendrick Perkins argued that the rape allegations, and Kobe’s subsequent bounce-back, gave the late Laker the greatest story in the NBA. “When it comes down to Kob winning three NBA championships with Shaq, Kobe was at his highest. I’m talking about when he was with Adidas, all of us had the 8s, the Kobs on our feet, rocking the Adidas,” Kendrick Perkins said. “And all of a sudden, Kob was dealing with the situation in Denver. And most people, when dealing with something when your livelihood is on the line, I wouldn’t have showed up to work, not to that capacity.”

He continued. “Kobe was still showing up to work and giving people that work on the floor, giving people straight buckets. Throughout that period he had lost endorsements, hundreds of millions of dollars, he was getting booed in every arena. He basically had to start from the bottom and work his way back to the top, and he did that in great fashion. As far as getting back his endorsements, as far as building back his reputation as one of the best players in the game, winning two NBA championships, two Finals MVPs, the list goes on.”

Kendrick Perkins Crowns His MVP Of NBA Free Agency.

Kendrick Perkins was quick to give high praise to the Los Angeles Lakers. The ESPN analyst believes the Lakers have been crushing the free agency period this summer. Perkins isn’t the only one who seems to feel that way. Lakers star LeBron James recently shared photos of all the players involved in a free-agent move on his Instagram. The franchise realized they needed more talent to compete with a team like the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets.

On Monday, Perkins appeared on First Take to praise Lakers GM Rob Pelinka. Pelinka has taken some heat in the past for not being as aggressive in bringing in free agents. However, that doesn’t seem like it is the case anymore in Los Angeles. “[Rob Pelinka is the] MVP of the free agency… What he added to this team while being able to keep the core of this group … He won,” Perkins stated. It is hard to argue that anyone is having a better off-season than the Lakers.

Kendrick Perkins Praises Rob Pelinka

Although there have been other teams find success this summer. Including the Phoenix Suns. The Suns acquired former Wizards star Bradley Beal in a blockbuster move that ultimately sent Chris Paul to Golden State. The Suns have bolstered up their roster. Making the team a massive threat to win the Western Conference. However, the Lakers and others are taking notice in making their own massive moves. The Nuggets will be tested when next season rolls around.

The Lakers desperately needed to make improvements. However, they also needed to bring back some key pieces. Bringing back Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura was vital. Perkins believes the moves from the Lakers will have the team right back in title contention next season. Do you agree with Kendrick Perkins? If not, which team has had the best free agency period? Kendrick Perkins Issues Challenge To Portland Trail Blazers

Kendrick Perkins isn’t ready to wave the white flag for the Portland Trail Blazers. Portland had an abysmal 2022-23 campaign, resulting in a top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. However, the current situation in the organization is to win now, not later. Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard has let his feelings be known on numerous occasions that the time to win is now. Because there may not be a later for Lillard in Portland. The NBA All-Star is on the fence about rejoining the team if there’s no plan to build a winner.

However, Perkins believes that the Trail Blazers can still accomplish that. In fact, the former Oklahoma City Thunder big man believes that the blueprint has already been created. “I’m challenging Chauncey Billups and Damian Lillard to gather the troops and go out there and do what the Kings and Heat did… Put the world on notice,” stated Perkins in an appearance on NBA Today. The Heat and Kings definitely shocked the NBA world this season. However, is the talent there for Portland?

Kendrick Perkins Sees A Winner In Portland

In the clip above, Perkins exclaims that the Trail Blazers already have the pieces to be a successful team next season. With Anfernee Simons and Scoot Henderson in the mix, a young core is there. Now it’s time for the organization to go out and win free agency. Also, the team is desperate to hang onto Lillard. Lillard is the final and biggest piece of the puzzle. However, without him, the team is far away from being considered a contender.

Perkins also mentioned that Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups needs to lead the charge. Billups knows what it’s like to be a part of a winner. The Portland head man won an NBA title during his time with the Detroit Pistons. A team that was built through free agency and making great draft selections. Not every team is a desirable location to superstars looking for a new home. However, Portland has some intriguing pieces that should have players in free agency, giving them a look. Do you believe Portland can build a winner? Let us know in the comment section. For the latest news in sports, keep it right here with HNHH.

Rick Ross Supports Kendrick Perkins “Ja Morant To Miami” Take

There has been a lot of debate surrounding the future of Ja Morant. The NBA is expected to announce a punishment for Morant in the coming days after he was caught on Instagram Live flashing a gun last month. Despite claims from Morant’s team that the gun was fake, the league is expected to hand out a significant suspension.

2023-24 marks the first year of a five-year, $194.3 million extension that Morant signed with the Grizzlies. Furthermore, there is a poison pill trade restriction in place until July 1, if the Grizzlies wanted to trade. However, that hasn’t stopped speculation. Speaking on First Take, Kendrick Perkins said that he wanted to see Morant playing in Miami. “We just got talking about the Miami Heat. That’s the culture and the organization I think he should go to,” Perkins said. “They got the godfather, Pat Riley. There’s nothing that goes down in that city without him knowing about it.”

Rick Ross Offers To Mentor Morant

A post shared by THE HIP-HOP WOLF® (@thehiphopwolf)

Morant to Miami is an interesting, if unlikely, proposal. While the organization would likely be a good informative culture for Morant, it’s hard to see them swinging a trade. First, there are Morant’s behavioral issues. Riley runs a fairly no-nonsense organization, so it’s difficult to see him bring in a rehabilitation project like Morant. Second, Miami is already $87 million over the salary cap and eyeing a blockbuster trade to acquire Bradley Beal.

However, the proposed move has gotten very prominent vote of confidence. Taking to Instagram, Rick Ross posted a simple message to his story. “I can mentor #jamorant in Miami’. While somewhat unorthodox, especially given the recent news of Morant rejecting outreach from the likes of Lil Wayne, it could be just what Morant needs. An influential figure like Ross could get through to Morant in a way that an exec or cultural administrator like Riley couldn’t. So, while the move is unlikely, it’s good to know that there are people willing to help facilitate Morant’s rehabilitation, even if that means moving him away from Memphis.

Stephen A. Smith & JJ Redick Roast Kendrick Perkins For Moaning In Their Ears

Stephen A. Smith and JJ Redick have proven to be a fun duo on First Take. Although they do get into their fair share of arguments, the show is at least interesting. Overall, they make for great TV, and Smith has not been challenged like this since Max Kellerman was on the program. Redick brings that firsthand NBA experience to the show, while Smith has his journalist lens. It makes for a solid dynamic that is only backed up by just how compelling the NBA Finals have been.

Additionally, Kendrick Perkins makes the show a lot of fun as well. Perkins is someone who is quick with the hot takes, and he clashes with JJ Redick quite a bit. However, if you watch First Take, you know that Perk is always making noises in the mic. He breathes incredibly loudly, and it can be very distracting. Well, today, Redick and Stephen A. were fed up and made their feelings known. It all hilariously played out in the tweet seen below, courtesy of Clutch Points.

Stephen A. And JJ Redick Have Had Enough

“Perk, is that you moaning in my ear over & over again?” Redick asked with an annoyed tone. Subsequently, Smith followed this up by saying, “Yeah, I know. I was getting ready to ask that. You sound like you got sleep apnea, Perk.” Overall, it was a pretty hilarious moment as Perkins got ganged up. Although, it is clear that he took it all in stride and kept it moving. In the future, however, the First Take crew will need to find a way to mute his mic whenever he isn’t talking. Otherwise, this will continue to be an issue for the foreseeable future.

If this is health-related, we hope Kendrick Perkins can get it sorted out. Aside from that, we’re sure Stephen A., Reddick, and Perkins will continue to shine throughout these playoffs. They have been great, and we can’t wait to see more. Let us know what you think of ESPN’s Finals coverage, in the comments section down below. Kendrick Perkins Makes Bold Celtics-Heat Prediction

Kendrick Perkins is a huge Boston Celtics fan. Overall, this should not be a surprise to anyone. After all, he played for the Celtics and got to experience some great seasons with them. However, there is no doubt that his fandom has been ramped up a bit when you consider how they are about to come back from an unfathomable deficit. The Celtics were down 3-0 to the Miami Heat. Subsequently, they won three-straight games and now get to play a Game 7 at home. If they win, they will become the first team in NBA history to come back from an 0-3 deficit and win the series.

Heading into this game, most people believe the Celtics will end up winning. Overall, this is due to the fact that they have momentum on their side. Moreover, the Heat look pretty cooked right now. They can’t hit big shots, and Jimmy Butler has been outplayed. Not to mention, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown should be enough for the team to get over the hump and win. All-in-all, the pundits have the Celtics pulling off the comeback of the century.

Kendrick Perkins Speaks

This includes Kendrick Perkins, who spoke about Game 7 today on First Take. As you can see in the clip above, he is taking the Boston Celtics to win this matchup. Ultimately, that is not a surprise. However, it is worth noting just because he has been adamant about how good the Celtics are this season. Furthermore, he spoke about Jimmy Butler and Jayson Tatum’s legacies. In his mind, Butler has more to lose tonight, as he would be seen as the ultimate choke artist with a loss.

Legacy Talk

Considering how historic this comeback would be, you can’t help but agree with Big Perk. There is no excuse for losing this kind of series. Jimmy Butler’s talents would be put into question, and he would not be able to escape that, even if he tried. At the end of the day, he just has to go out there and win. Give us your big predictions on this game, in the comments section below.
