Has Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion beef sneakily made its way into an entrepreneurial venture? Well, that’s what hip-hop head seemed to think. Earlier in the month, a campaign for Nicki Minaj’s sneaker line, Loci, went viral after users online noticed that it featured Megan Thee Stallion’s former friend, Kelsey Nicole.

However, on October 6, Nicki used downtime from Pink Friday 2 World Tour to address the growing backlash. In a post uploaded to X (formerly Twitter), Nicki slammed The Shade Room for promoting “a lie.”

“She posted a photo in my sneakers,” she wrote. “Me, nor my company knew anything about it until she posted it. So she did what many ppl did when they received my sneakers, they posted a photo in them.”

Nicki did extend compliments to the image. “Kelsey def went all the way out with this professional looking backdrop tho,” she wrote “But she is in no way professionally connected to my sneaker brand…Btw, did Kelsey not tell them she wasn’t modeling for the line Barbz? Did she just let them think that? I gotta get caught up y’all.”

Kelsey Nicole has since deleted the post. But that hasn’t stopped fans of both Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj from blasting her for seemingly attempting to add more fire to their longstanding feud.

Kelsey Nicole is a musical artist and model. Consequently, she appeared in a new photoshoot to promote the Minaj line Loci. Multiple photos were released online, in which Nicole is modeling the new in different settings. Kelsey Nicole’s friendship, and subsequent falling out, with Megan Thee Stallion, has been well detailed over the years. If we’re to go by Occam’s razor, which states that the simplest solution is often the right one, then Minaj chose her model very carefully. She’s promoting her business while taking a dig at her enemy.

Kelsey Nicole may not be as famous as Megan or Tory Lanez. But she was allegedly present during the infamous incident in which Megan was shot. Lanez is currently serving prison time for shooting Megan. That said, the rapper’s defense attorney actually suggested that Nicole handled the firearm instead. It was actually posited that Lanez physically struck Kelsey Nicole after the shooting took place, in an effort to disarm her. The jury obviously didn’t buy it, and found Lanez guilty.

Kelsey Nicole denies shooting Megan Thee Stallion, but does admit she was present when the shooting took place. She also told iHeartRadio that she was “betrayed” by Megan that night. “It was challenging for me to come forward,” Nicole admitted. “I wanted to ensure that my words were not fueled by anger.” She admits that she had a falling out with someone she previously considered her best friend. The two artists have not been close since. It’ll be interesting see if Kelsey Nicole and Nicki Minaj have even more collabs planned for the future.

Kelsey Nicole is the former best friend of Megan Thee Stallion. Overall, she became a massive part of the Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion shooting case. For instance, her testimony in court came with lots of controversy. During her deposition, she had seemingly implied that Tory Lanez was the shooter. However, when she was on the stand, she did a complete 180. That said, Tory Lanez was still convicted and is now serving a 10-year prison sentence.

Throughout all of this, there were reports that Kelsey Nicole was actually the shooter. Furthering this notion is an alleged testimony from Tory’s driver who said he saw someone else reach for the gun, and that Tory did not fire a single bullet. This subsequently led to theories from Joe Budden that Tory was somehow set up from the beginning. With all of these rumors and reports running rampant, Kelsey Nicole took to Twitter to remind people that she’s been cleared of any wrongdoing, on multiple occasions.

When Live Bitez shared the clip on Instagram, users were quick to troll Nicole. “It’s giving clout chaser,” one wrote. Another joked: “You did that interview and still talked to Nicki and your still in the same place [laughing emojis] why you didn’t get back stage passes from her.”

I’m able to articulate myself well enough and not allow the drama to overshadow how I truly feel. I think that’s very important. I didn’t want to take an interview or sit down with anybody until I was past that part.” Nicole added that she’s since decided to “open up more,” and “let people into my life a little bit and maybe this will help them understand me more.
