Kisha Chavis has clarified how her husband, former NBA star Joe Smith, found her OnlyFans page. Speaking with VladTV, she explained that a female friend informed him of the account. Smith revealed that he discovered Chavis’ use of the platform in a viral argument on social media, last month.

To begin, Chavis confirmed that she’s been on OnlyFans for about one year and has still been working at the club during that time. Afterward, she discredited Smith’s claim that he simply caught her scrolling on OnlyFans. “Someone told him about it and that’s how he knew,” she instead suggested.

Chavis isn’t the only one to speak out in the wake of the viral argument. Smith also spoke with VladTV for an interview shortly after the incident. He explained that, contrary to many social media users’ theories, the video is genuine. “I wouldn’t put my business out in the streets, I wouldn’t put nothing like this out in the streets unless it was real official, and I didn’t do this one so it’s hurting. It’s hurtful and I gotta listen to people’s opinions every day, all day right now about my relationship and that’s something I never wanted to be involved in,” Joe said at the time.

Smith told DJ Vlad that his financial advisor first alerted him to nine checks totaling $109K. Furthermore, Smith later confirmed the claims through a private investigator. Slaughter had reportedly sent all of them to a mystery acquaintance, Timothy Carr. However, Smith also claimed that he was unable to file charges against Slaughter because the authorities ruled it a “he said, she said” situation.

The revelation came after Smith opened up about his financial situation. He claimed that despite making $61M during his NBA career, he only ever saw $18M of it due to taxation. Furthermore, Smith revealed that he was put into debt by his first divorce. However, Smith also took responsibility for his own actions, saying his infidelities cost him his marriage. Who Is Joe Smith?

Younger NBA fans might not be familiar with Smith, a 2000s journeyman who played for 12 NBA teams. Smith, a 20-ppg forward at Maryland, was something of a surprise first-overall pick. The rest of the top five that year were Antonio McDyess, Jerry Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallace, and Kevin Garnett. Smith never really lived up to the #1 pick status, being traded from the Warriors to the Sixers two and half years after being drafted. He proceeded to bounce around the league, never spending more than three years at any one team. Unlike the rest of the top of that ’95 draft class, Smith never made an All-Star Game or All-NBA team. He would retire in 2011 after being waived by the Lakers and not being able to find a team that wanted to sign him.

Smith finished his career with a 10.9 points average. He also, like a number of NBA players, dabbled with a musical career. Released under the name “Joe Beast”, Smith dropped an album in 2008 while playing with the Thunder. Tracks included “Murda Kapital” and “I Does This” but the album did not do well. However, the drama with his wife remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.
