50 Cent reacts to the new lawsuit accusing Jay-Z and Diddy of sexual assault with an Instagram post that questions the Super Bowl. After the news broke, 50 posted, “Ok, I don’t know what’s going on, but are we gonna still have the Super Bowl? 😟I’m just asking for a friend!” The post arrives after 50 has been frequently asking about Jay-Z’s whereabouts during Diddy’s legal drama in interviews. He was doing some wild sh–, Cam, because he was saying to Em and them that the NFL had the issue with me. And I’m like, ‘Well, what’s the issue? Why don’t they have an issue when I’m becoming a partner with the actual teams? But they have an issue with my performance? It makes no sense.’”

Charlamagne Tha God Claims Telling Drake To Follow J. Cole’s Blueprint After Kendrick Lamar Battle

J. Cole’s new Inevitable audio series has revealed many behind-the-scenes secrets of the former Jay-Z protege’s journey to superstardom. One of the biggest reveals by Cole World was Jay-Z asking rival Drake to give the 2014 Forest Hills Drive creator a hit back in the day. Jigga doesn’t appear to be the only person who shares advice similar to that of J. Cole. In the latest episode of The Brilliant Idiots podcast, Charlamagne Tha God claims he told Drake to follow J. Cole’s blueprint following the success of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

Talking to Andrew Schulz, C Tha God shared that he told Drake to take a vacation and then a different approach with his music after Kendrick Lamar took over the industry. “What I told Drake to do after ‘Not Like Us’ since you didn’t want to engage,” said Charlamagne. “Disappear. Go to Turks and Caicos. Live your life for a little while and let nostalgia bring you back.” He continued with a comparison to J. Cole. He added: “He [Drake] tried to do it when he dropped that ‘100GB’ sh*t, right? But he didn’t do it in a packaged way like Cole did.”

Charlemagne Tha God Says He Told Drake To Go To Turks & Follow J. Cole’s Hit-Making Blueprint.

Drake has been recognized by Spotify as the most streamed artist of 2024; however, many have reported that the artist’s popularity has halted since the overwhelming success of Kendrick Lamar’s diss tracks during their rap battle. Last month, Drake told fans he was “unfazed” by the battle as a livestream guest on popular streamer xQc’s platform. Apparently directed by Lamar, Drake said, “I’m here, as you can see, fully intact. Mind, body, and soul. In case you are wondering, right? You need facts to take me out. Fairy tales won’t do it..” While Lamar performance the coveted Super Bowl Halftime Show this February, Drake will be overseas on the newly announced Anita Max Win Tour

As fans patiently await J. Cole’s presumed final album, The Falloff. With the release of The Come Up, his first mixtape, and the 10th anniversary of 2014 Forest Hills Drive, he has provided fans with nostalgia. Cole’s upcoming Madison Square Garden tribute concert secured a second date after the first sold out in a matter of minutes last week. The show takes fans back to the artist’s popular Dollar And A Dream days when concertgoers were offered the opportunity to see a full show for only a dollar.

JAY-Z knows how to avoid a business disaster. The rapper and mogul was once affiliated with Monogram but stepped away from the partnership when he noticed the company was hemorrhaging cash.

According to TMZ, Hov stepped away from the brand years ago, which proved a decent decision, seeing they have blown through $575 million in cash.

An insider stated, “JAY-Z stepped away years ago and it just went up in a mess.” The brand reportedly went to another owner in Dec. 2022.

One cannabis expert noted Hov’s The Parent Company noticed the brand had high campaign cost and the $50 price for a pre-roll was too high in the market.

Jay-Z Collabs With Coffee Table Book Brand To Officially Release “The Book Of Hov”

Do you remember The Book of Hov exhibit at the Brooklyn Library last year? Well, if you do, then you may remember the actual hardcover that was on display there from July to December. Fans now have access to purchase that very title on the website of the luxury coffee table book company, Assouline. According to Uproxx, they are the same publisher that helped put together the physical copy Apple Music’s 100 Best Albums list that made headlines earlier this year. Right now, you can pre order The Book Of HOV: A Tribute on their site here. There are actually a few ways to purchase it, three to be exact.

Then, there is an “ultimate” edition, and that really drives up the price. It’s a mind-melting $2,000 and it’s more than just an alternate cover or something. “Presented in a luxurious clamshell case, this striking volume spans 432 pages with over 675 illustrations. The Book of HOV showcases it all—from the guitar JAY-Z played at Glastonbury (the first rapper on that legendary stage) to Daniel Arsham’s “HOV Hands” sculpture, his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame award (as the first solo hip-hop inductee), and hundreds of paper planes bearing dreams from NYC schoolchildren.”

Its description continues on, “More than a multi-hyphenate, JAY-Z redefines possibility, proving you can set your intention and create your own story. Each Ultimate Edition includes white gloves and a signature canvas tote.” Then, there is an even more exclusive version which is listed at “price per request,” so we can only imagine how much that might be. There’s only going to be five copies to go into production. Overall, if you’re in need of a gift for a hip-hop historian, this might be it.

You Can Official Bring Home The ‘Book Of HOV: A Tribute To Jay-Z’

The Brooklyn Library’s Book Of HOV exhibit, which ran from July to December 2023, might be over, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end. The exhibit, which incorporated Jay’s lyrics, interviews, and even his once-favorite luxury car, has been turned into an actual book by Assouline (the same publisher of that pricey Apple Music 100 Best Albums book) consisting of essays analyzing the Brooklyn rapper’s life and career, as well as 700 images and interviews. The Book Of HOV: A Tribute to Jay-Z is available to pre-order now for $120, with a special edition selling for $2,000. An ultra-limited-edition (one of five) is available as well, price per request (which means you probably can’t afford it).

The Book of HOV: A Tribute to Jay-Z is divided into eight chapters, with each named after and inspired by a different Jay-Z lyric. Among photos from the exhibit are images of the guitar Jay played at Glastonbury to troll the Gallaghers after they disparaged him for not being “rock-and-roll.” A portion of the sale from the limited-edition copies will go to the Brooklyn Public Library.

And if you can’t get your hands on the book, no worries; the exhibition appeared to tease an upcoming 14th album, which could be on the way soon.

Jay-Z’s Luxury Weed Brand In Reported Dire Financial Straits

Millionaires and billionaires are not going to flawlessly exceed at everything they put their minds to. You can tie that fact to Jay-Z, one of hip-hop’s most successful entrepreneurs. According to HipHopNMore and SFGate, his luxury weed company, Monogram, is in serious peril financially speaking. Hov launched the brand in 2020 and was named the brand’s Chief Brand Strategist. The California-based cannabis supplier was kickstarted in a big and flashy way. Magazines like GQ, Vogue, and Vanity Fair featuring it front and center really helped get the word out.

Moreover, some of the debut promotion included a lavish photoshoot at the Frank Sinatra house in Palm Springs helped get this target audience established pretty quickly. But it turns out that that over $500 million investment was a mistake on the part of its overseer, The Parent Company (ironic name). Both outlets have gathered that Monogram was supposed to make around $300 million in its inaugural year.

Will Jay-Z Have To Shut Down Monogram’s Operations?

However, Jay-Z and his partners were nowhere near that mark. In fact, TPCO had a net loss of $587 million. Obviously, they had to move on from the New York rapping legend’s project. They did, and Gold Flora decided to give Jay-Z a chance. However, that also backfired, as the newer parent company was also struggling mightily. They were also losing return on their investment, losing around $56 million.

Additionally, Gold Flora’s debts were well over their assets at $60 million. Since Monogram’s inception, they have accused of smuggling, allegedly failing to pay invoices, as well as allegedly owing a weed farm around $200,000. Overall, Monogram’s faults were expected by those in the cannabis industry. Seth Yakatan, an investor in this field, told SFGate that general reviews are uninspiring. “Monogram was supposed to be an ultra-premium product, and I don’t know anyone who tried it and thought it was anything more than mid-tier.”
