Canelo Alvarez Praises Jake Paul But Warns Him To Stay In His Lane

Canelo Álvarez has responded to reports that Jake Paul is eyeing the acclaimed boxer as his next fight after taking down Nate Diaz earlier this month. “My level is other level,” Canelo told Mirror Fighting this week. “But look, I think he needs to enjoy what he’s doing, and that’s it. He needs to calm down and start calling out people with other levels. I think he needs to focus on what he’s doing. He’s doing good things.”

Álvarez clarified, stating that Paul needs to continue fighting people like Diaz for the being. Paul is 7-1 in his professional boxing career. However, only one of those fights, his sole loss, has come against an experienced professional boxer. His other six fights have been against a YouTuber and four MMA fighters. Previously, Álvarez said “I truly believe that it’s a lack of respect. It’s all based on money. It’s all for money,” in 2020 when discussing the Paul Brothers with TMZ.

Alvarez Says What Everyone Is Thinking About Jake Paul

Álvarez’s comments give voice to the major question about Jake, and to a lesser extent Logan, Paul. Are the Paul Brothers the real deal? Most experts agree that Jake is a competent fighter. However, what he lacks is fight experience, especially against challenging opponents. Given his status, Jake Paul is able to pick and choose his fights. And in six of his seven fights, he’s picked big-name marquee matchups that are easily winnable for him, the guy dedicating his time to boxing. As mentioned, he’s only ever fought one actual boxer, and it was a pretty one-sided loss for Paul.

But the problem is that Paul either doesn’t understand that or doesn’t want to understand that. And his calling out of Álvarez shows this lack of understanding. Beating Nate Diaz, a man who has never boxed professionally in his life, does not give you the tools or stature to challenge one of the best active boxers in the world. Álvarez is 59-2-2 and current stands as the unified super middleweight fighter. A 7-1 boxer with one reputable fight under his belt is little not worth Álvarez’s time or reputation. At the end of the day, what does he gain from fighting Paul other than money?

Jake Paul Says He Wants Second Fight with Nate Diaz Under MMA Rules

Jake Paul wants to take his talents to MMA. After beating MMA legend Nate Diaz in a boxing ring, the social media superstar thinks he can make the jump to the octagon and wants to run it back with Diaz.

“He fucking choked me,” Paul said. “He was actually choking me. I was like, this is crazy! I didn’t think he was going to stop but he had it in. Obviously, I’m not going to try to defend it, but it’s just funny.

“That’s why I want to do it back in MMA. It’s fun. I’m with all that shit. If it was it was MMA, I would have dropped to a double-leg, picked him up and dropped him on his head.”

Conor McGregor Calls Out Nate Diaz Over “Abysmal” Loss To Jake Paul

Conor McGregor slammed Nate Diaz on Twitter, Sunday afternoon, following his UFC rival’s loss to Jake Paul in a boxing match the night before. McGregor called the performance embarrassing in several since-deleted posts on the site.

He began: “Peoples champ I gonna say this now, them antics when its time2move ain’t hitting for me no more. I’ve seen him point, I’ve seen him turn/walk away etcetc. it’s stale now. Fkn Do somethin cos you’re doing nothing! Could’ve been the 170lb ufc champion. Wasted it. Ur doing fuck all.”

“I gonna serve up your liver on a sandwich in the trilogy m8,” he added in another post. “Out straight. I won’t even hit ur face. That was abysmal last night. Paul is a r*tard. Absolute garbage he is. Moving backwards like I was watching a fight in rewind. Holy garbage. Embarrassing stuff all round IMO. #piss.” From there, he concluded: “Try point and walk away from me I gonna run at you and root you up the hole. Ronda messaged me said you are a do nothing bitch.”

Paul won his fight against Diaz by unanimous decision at American Airlines Center on Saturday. It was an important bounce-back victory following his loss to Tommy Fury, earlier this year. McGregor and Diaz have faced off twice over the years. Diaz first defeated McGregor in March 2016 via submission and then McGregor beat Diaz in August 2016 via split decision.

Paul has previously expressed interest in fighting McGregor himself. Speaking with ESPN ahead of his latest fight, Paul explained that he believed beating Diaz would set himself up to do so. “I see a road map where I knock out Nate and then go to Conor McGregor,” Paul said at the time. “To do what Conor couldn’t do — knock out Nate — and then that’ll be the biggest fight in combat sports that could possibly be made.” However, after Saturday’s fight, he changed his tune. When asked about the idea, this time around he remarked: “I don’t care about (McGregor). He needs to go to rehab. I want Nate in MMA. I want more professional boxers and I want Canelo.”

Jake Paul Had Lil Durk Walk Him Out Before His Fight, So The Rapper Used It To Give An Update On The ‘Almost Healed’ Deluxe Album

In July, Eminem surprised fans when he joined boxer Terence Crawford during his ring walkout for his fight against Errol Spence Jr. On Saturday, August 5, Lil Durk accompanied Jake Paul in Dallas at the American Airlines Center for his stroll before he faced Nate Diaz. The pair used Durk’s latest single, “All My Life,” featuring J. Cole, as the soundtrack to their strut.

As Durk’s song played over the speakers, the rapper used the camera time to his benefit, updating fans on the deluxe version of his latest album, Almost Healed. The shirt he bore words, written in large red capitalized letters similar to the album’s featured font, that confirmed the album would be released sometime this month.

In the fan-captured video of the entrance, Durk emerged wearing his t-shirt before Paul appeared from behind the curtains.

For weeks Durk has told fans that the extended version of the album will eclipse the work he did on the original recording. On July 13, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to write, “Almost Healed Deluxe should of been the main album painnnnnnnnn🏆🤲🏾❤️‍🩹.”

After Durk canceled multiple dates of his Sorry For The Drought Tour due to a health scare, former ticketholders hoped the new edition would compensate for the nixed live shows.

She may have a Grammy nomination under her belt (something many other female rap veterans are still striving for), but that hasn’t stopped the internet from encouraging Saweetie to retire from hip-hop in favour of modelling. Thankfully, the Icy Girl is a pro at posing for Instagram photo dumps, and rumour has it her boyfriend YG gives her a monthly allowance to keep her looking fresh and fly in designer duds. On Saturday (August 5), she took a break from grabbing dinner in West Hollywood with her man to, instead, work a shift as a ring girl at the Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz fight.

The YouTuber ultimately came out on top in the 10-round spat. While it was entertaining to watch him take down his opponent, many eyes in the building were notably on Saweetie throughout the night. “And there is Saweetie once again. Gentleman, I’m telling you, I might leave commentary if she keeps doing this,” one of the announcers thirstily declared as the “Best Friend” hitmaker turned around for the camera to show off her bubble butt.

Saweetie Shows Off Her (Ass)ets at Paul vs. Diaz Fight

As the voice behind the camera returns to work, Saweetie grins and blows a kiss at the camera. To contrast her uniform for the night, the California native rocked a platinum blonde wig. She also channelled her inner Barbie Girl with beautiful pink eyeshadow and dangling earrings in the same colour. It seems her appearance at the fight also caught the attention of Conor McGregor, who tweeted at the 30-year-old amid the Diaz and Paul fight unfolding in front of him.

Saweetie has been serving up plenty of tantalizing looks lately. Not only did she stun alongside YG and Tyga in the “BIRTHDAY” music video, but she also channelled her inner Cleopatra for her “SHOT O’ CLOCK” visual last week. See behind-the-scenes photos from the latter shoot at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Fans Brawl After Jake Paul Beats Nate Diaz

While Jake Paul won his highly-anticipated fight with Nate Diaz, he wasn’t able to fulfill the promise he made to “do what Conor McGregor couldn’t – knock out Nate Diaz.” Paul won via unanimous decision (97-92, 98-91, 98-91). But, as mentioned, it wasn’t the brutal beatdown everyone was expecting. After a brutal first round from Paul, Diaz seemed to find his footing and showed some impressive inside work. “He’s tough. He’s real tough,” Paul said. “That’s what he’s known for. But tough in this sport doesn’t work.”

Of course, it wasn’t all humility from the outspoken Ohioan. “I knocked him down, won basically every round, but he’s a warrior. I had him hurt in the first round, he kept on coming. No one’s taken that much damage. All credit to my team and conditioning. Going 10 rounds in my eighth fight, it’s unheard of. Only been boxing for three years and beat a UFC legend.” Subsequently, Paul offered Diaz an MMA rematch. While a $10 million offer for such an event is currently on the table, Diaz’s indicated that it would need a bigger payday attached. Despite this, Diaz appeared interested in the offer. However, they weren’t the only ones fighting on the night.

Fans Brawl After Paul Win

The precursor to the chaos that would go down outside American Airlines Arena came as the fight was still in progress. Videos posted to social media showed Jake’s brother Logan, who recently announced his own return to the ring, getting into a physical altercation with a fan. While Jake was pummelling Diaz, Logan was getting his own action in ringside. It’s unclear what caused the altercation, which was quickly stopped by security.

Meanwhile, more videos emerged of fans fighting in the shopping complex at the arena immediately after the fight. It’s unclear what started these brawls but multiple videos quickly emerged showing fight attendees throwing down. However, no serious injuries or major arrests have been announced as a result of the incidents. Furthermore, many of the fights were slammed on social media as being “cringe”. In addition, many people saw it as simply people trying to get in their own Jake Paul moment.

Jake Paul Walks Out With Lil Durk Before Win Over Nate Diaz

Jake Paul certainly made one hell of an entrance to his fight against Nate Diaz. The two fighters had been hyping the fight since it was announced in April. However, few people knew what to expect from the actual fight itself. Many people believed that Paul would absolutely destroy Diaz, but more on that in a moment. Paul set the tone for the fight when he arrived at American Airlines Arena in a tank. Then, when it was time to enter the ring, he got an all-star walkout.

Dressed in his look from the cover of Almost Healed, Lil Durk performed “All My Life” as he walked alongside Paul to the ring. The track peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is platinum certified. It provided an impressive lead-in to the fight that, as mentioned, many expected Paul to absolutely dominate. And while Paul was the better fighter, the bout was less of the tomato can bounce-back people expected.

Paul Wins, But Diaz Holds His Own

Jake Paul Arrives To Nate Diaz Fight In A Tank

Jake Paul pulled up to American Airlines Center in Dallas on Saturday night in a military tank. The YouTuber-turned-boxer is set to take on UFC star Nate Diaz in a 10-round cruiserweight bout at the end of the night.

In videos circulating online, Paul can be seen riding into the venue while sitting on the top of a tank. Paul enters the fight with a 6-1-0 boxing record, winning four of those bouts by knockout. He suffered his first loss by a split decision to Tommy Fury in February.

“I think the loss actually made me more relatable, because for some reason people think of celebrities as not humans,” Paul told ESPN of his loss to Fury. “If anything, it’s grown my fan base and given me the opportunity to come back, and people see now how serious I am about it, doubling down now after a loss.”

As for Saturday night’s fight, Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian told ESPN’s Marc Raimondi that Paul “may retire if he loses to Nate Diaz.” “His boxing career is on the line, in terms of being one of the top three or four guys in the entire sport globally,” Bidarian told the outlet. “I think if he was to lose, he’d just go to being another prospect that’s coming up in the ring.”

Jake Paul Arrives In A Tank

As for what’s next for Paul, back in May he suggested taking on Conor McGregor if he beats Nate Diaz. “I see a roadmap where I knock out Nate and then go to Conor McGregor,” Paul told ESPN in May. “[I can] do what Conor couldn’t do — knock out Nate. And then that’ll be the biggest fight in combat sports that could possibly be made, is me versus Conor.”

Le’Veon Bell On Fighting Jake Paul: “Nowhere Near The Same Caliber Of Athlete As Me”

Le’Veon Bell says that he would have no problem taking down Jake Paul in a potential fight with the influencer-turned-boxer. The former NFL star discussed the idea of fighting either of the Paul brothers during an interview with No Jumper, earlier this week.

“Right now, I’ve been saying in boxing ‘I’m gonna be the best at this shit. Watch. Watch.’ Everybody like, ‘Yeah. Yeah. Logan Paul do this. Logan Paul would knock you out. Jake Paul would knock you out.’ Which, they’re fucking cr*zy. Nowhere near the same caliber of athlete as me. But, it’s whatever,” Bell said. When asked whether he would knock out Jake Paul, Bell confirmed, “I would stop Jake Paul. When you say ‘knock out,’ it’s hard to knock somebody out if they don’t want to get knocked out. He’s going to get stopped. He’s not doing eight rounds with me.”

Fans had mixed responses to the remarks when No Jumper shared the clip on Instagram. One user commented: “Listen, I’m here for all this energy but these washed up former athletes gotta stop devaluing their brand for quick money… cmon mannnn.” Another wrote: “Ngl idk who this guy is but even if he would beat tf out of them and even if he has a 40-0 record, that cockiness of him kinda ruins it. Way too arrogant and cocky lol.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Bell discussed his music career. In doing so, he revealed that he recently tried to collaborate with Jack Harlow, but the Kentucky rapper turned him down on two occasions. “Bro, I sent Jack Harlow two songs and he turned them both down,” he admitted. “The first one, he’s like, ‘Nah bro, this one ain’t it.’ The second one, he was like, ‘Hey, you close on this one, but it still ain’t it.’” Check out the interview below.
