Chlöe Bailey Drops “In Pieces” Tracklist Ft. Future, Missy Elliott & More

Over the past two years, Chlöe Bailey’s readied fans for a new chapter in her career with her solo debut album, In Pieces. Though she emerged into the music industry as a teenager, her forthcoming project will showcase her growth into a woman. It’s as evident as the singles she’s released for the project. The anthemic “Have Mercy,” produced by Murda Beatz, showcased her embracing her sexuality openly. Then, she dropped joints like the Chris Brown-assisted “How Does It Feel” that showcased a more romantic aspect of her artistry.

All in all, she has range and that seems to be exactly what we’ll be getting next Friday. On Monday (March 20th), she shared the official tracklist for the project, which boasts fourteen songs in total. The aforementioned Chris Brown collaboration will appear at #7, while other features include Missy Elliott and Future. The former appears on “Told Ya” and the latter on the aptly titled, “Cheatback.” The carefully curated features strongly suggest that In Pieces will provide fans with a glimpse into Chlöe’s life that we’ve yet to see in the past.

Chlöe Bailey Explains “In Pieces” Inspiration

Last week, Chlöe Bailey dropped the official cover art for In Pieces, which was inspired by a picture of a doll holding its heart. She explained that the cover itself represents an incredibly difficult time in her life. “But now after healing, doing self-work and shedding this skin of false perfection, I find the beauty in pain,” she explained. Chlöe Bailey added, “IN PIECES  is for the ones like me who wear their outer shell so well that you’d have no idea what they’re going through. I hope this project brings healing to those who listen, as it’s been completely therapeutic for me…”

The new album couldn’t come at a better time. Chlöe is fresh off of a performance at SXSW this weekend but prior to that, she appeared in the highly anticipated series, Swarm on Amazon Prime. Chlöe takes on the role of Marissa Jackson, the older sister of Dre (played by Dominique Fishback). However, it was her opening scene with Damson Idris that left people’s jaws dropped on the floor. With In Pieces due out on Friday, we’re sure that people will have way more to talk about than her appearance in Swarm. Check the tracklist for Chlöe Bailey’s In Pieces above. The album drops on March 31st.

Chlöe Bailey Shares Electrifying “In Pieces” Cover Art

Chlöe Bailey’s revving up to have the summer on lock with her solo debut album In Pieces right around the corner. The singer’s shared a handful of singles over the past few years as she built anticipation for her first outing without her sister. Singles like “Have Mercy” became massive bangers that found her poppin’ her ish, while her latest release, “How Does It Feel” ft. Chris Brown became a definitive display of her place as a leading R&B artist in 2023.

So far, she hasn’t released a tracklist for her project but she confirmed that she’ll have a few exciting collabs on the project. During an interview with Complex at the top of the year, she explained that each record on In Pieces stems from a personal experience, whether a joint like “Have Mercy” which finds her hitting back at haters or “Treat Me” which describes what she looks for in a man. “Every single song on that project stems from my own experiences,” she said. “Every song I have is personal. It has been so much fun collaborating with such incredible song makers.”

Chlöe Bailey Shares “In Pieces” Cover Art

This morning, Chlöe Bailey unveiled the official cover for In Pieces. The cover art showcases her looking quite doll-like while holding a glowing heart in her hand. Her chest also exudes a bright red neon color where her heat is supposed to be. Fans were impressed by the creativity that went into the look, as well as its simplicity. Even though it’s her debut album, Chlöe Bailey didn’t go over the top to catch anyone’s attention.

Chlöe explained the inspiration for the In Pieces cover art came from a photo of a porcelain doll holding her heart three years ago. At that point, she committed to recreating a similar look for her own cover art. “This cover represents so much for me, down to the color of my hair… when I had the red hair 1.5 years ago, it was one of the darkest times in my life… that’s why I never wore it again,” she explained in a note. “IN PIECES is for the ones like me, who wear their outer shell so well that you’d have no idea what they’re going through.” Check out the cover art above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Chlöe’s ‘In Pieces’ Album Cover Was Inspired By A Porcelain Doll She Saw Three Years Ago

There’s wearing your heart on your sleeve, and then there’s what Chlöe is doing with In Pieces, her highly anticipated debut solo album due out March 31. We’ve already gotten a taste of what it will sound like with singles “Pray It Away” and “How Does It Feel” (controversially) featuring Chris Brown.

Today, March 16, Chlöe showed us what her In Pieces album cover looks like, and she’s holding her heart in her hand.

In a separate tweet, she explained the meaning behind the image:

“I saw a photo of a porcelain doll 3 years ago, holding her heart just like this and from then, I said this will be my album cover. That same day I also wrote ‘Heart On My Sleeve.’ The beginning of a scary and exciting journey for me. This cover represents so much for me, down to the color of my hair.. When I had the red hair 1.5 years ago, it was one of the darkest times in my life.. That’s why I never wore it again. It reminded me too much of the pain that I was going through in that moment and I didn’t want any reminders.

But now after healing, doing self work and shedding this skin of false perfection, I find the beauty in my pain. I find the beauty in my flaws and how in actuality, that’s what makes me perfect. I find beauty in all of the cracks that show people I’ve been broken down before, because I’ve gotten up every time. I wear my heart as my armor.

In Pieces is for the ones who behind closed doors are breaking and don’t know how much more they can take. In Pieces is for the ones who hold the people up around them while barely holding up themselves. In Pieces is for the people who continue to get stabbed in the back, heartbroken by the ones they thought they could trust, but STILL that doesn’t change their heart and how they love. In Pieces is for the ones like me, who wear their outer shell so well that you’d have no idea what they’re doing through. I hope this project brings healing to those who listen, as it’s been completely therapeutic for me and I can’t wait to share my heart with you, literally.”

Chlöe will spread this message across North America with her In Pieces Tour, beginning April 11 in Chicago. But first, fans can see her on Amazon Prime Video’s original series Swarm from Donald Glover and Janine Nabers, which premieres tomorrow, March 17.

In Pieces is out 3/31 via Parkwood/Columbia. Find more information here.

Chlöe Talks Debut Album And New Series “Swarm”

This year, Chloe “Chlöe” Bailey has showcased her incredible artistry and adept ability to go solo. While attending Billboard’s 2023 Women in Music event, the actress and singer teased her upcoming projects, including her debut studio album In Pieces and her starring role in Swarm. The 24-year-old chatted with Extra at the event, where she presented Latto with the Powerhouse Award.

Dressed in a dazzling beaded dress by Giambattista Valli, Chlöe shared the honor she felt for attending an evening dedicated to women who work both in front of the camera and behind the scenes in music. When reflecting on how the industry is primarily male-dominated, she said, “women can kick ass just as hard, but a lot of the time we’re not given the platform or put on a pedestal like men are.”

Chlöe Teases “Swarm,” Tells Viewers To “Buckle Up”

In January, Chlöe teased her upcoming album with the single “Pray It Away. ” The track, which was accompanied by a music video release, carries ethereal and emotional qualities, yet still remains to give off euphoric goosebumps. Chlöe also recently teamed up with Chris Brown for “How Does It Feel,” which dropped last Friday (February 24). “I love that song,” she told the outlet, “it’s definitely like, you know when you wanted to be with someone so bad and it didn’t work out because they took you for granted and it’s like how does it feel? Now that you’ve lost me.” The “Have Mercy” artist mentions how both songs are “just a little taste of what’s to come” with In Pieces.

Chlöe is also set to star in Donald Glover’s new television series, Swarm, which will release this month. The show, which also stars Dominique Fishback and Damson Idris, is a psychological thriller that follows a fangirl taking a dark turn. “I think what everybody expects it to be about it’s totally not,” Chlöe mentioned. She also notes, “and it’s all shot on film, it’s so stunning and beautifully written and people definitely have to buckle up their seatbelts because I don’t think they expect what it’s going to be about.” For more on the latest news in hip-hop and pop culture, be sure to check out HNHH.

Chlöe Asks A Trifling Ex ‘How Does It Feel’ On Her New Single

The second piece to Chlöe‘s upcoming debut album, In Pieces has arrived. On her latest single, “How Does It Feel?,” Chlöe reminds an ex exactly what he lost after he played too many games.

“I gave you more than you wanted / I gave you more than you needed / So tell me, how does it feel / to lose the one you believe in?,” sings Chlöe, along with her collaborator Chris Brown, on the song’s chorus.

On her verse, Chlöe recalls good times with her former love, before he messed it all up.

“We threw the racks out at Follies / Gave you the key where my heart beat / You didn’t say it but you said it / It shouldn’t have hurt me but I let it,” she sings.

In the song’s accompanying video, Chlöe and Brown are seen dancing in separate rooms divided by a wall. The wall then quickly disappears forcing them to unite with each other. Elsewhere in the video, Chlöe dances on her own, as golden light shines upon her.

You can check out the video for “How Does It Feel?” above.

In Pieces is out 3/31 via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. You can pre-save it here.

SZA Says Chlöe Is “Going To Be A Legend”

Just over two months after SZA had her monumental moment with her S.O.S. studio album in December, Chlöe is set to have her’s. SZA’s sophomore studio album spent four weeks as the No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Additionally, her album landed her the honor of Billboard Woman of the Year. For this, she did an interview with the publication and spoke about a variety of topics including other women in music. While discussing this, SZA mentioned that she thinks Chlöe has her best days ahead of her. “I love Chloe Bailey and her commitment to perfection — I feel like she’s going to be a legend,” she said.

When news broke of this quote, Chlöe saw a tweet referencing it. She immediately quoted the tweet to return the favor and offer her own admiration to SZA. “love you always @sza. the feeling is mutual,” she said. Later in SZA’s interview, she also showed love to other female musicians like Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Beyoncé, and more. But, the Chlöe praise felt particularly appropriate and timely. Chlöe is currently in the midst of an album rollout for her solo debut LP In Pieces. Ahead of its March 31 release, Chlöe is set to drop the album’s second promotional single “How Does It Feel” with Chris Brown tonight (Feb. 24). This will just be another big step ahead of her highly anticipated full-length release.

Why Chlöe’s Moment Is Now

Since embarking on her solo career away from the Chloe x Halle tandem with her sister, all of Chlöe’s solo singles have been epic. “Have Mercy” is Sept. 2021 and “Treat Me” in April 2022 were both great introductions to her sound as a solo act. Next, “Surprise” in June 2022 and October’s “For The Night” continued to elevate her artistry and songwriting. Then last month (Jan. 27), her lead single “Pray It Away” for In Pieces saw Chlöe successfully begin to build a theme and world for her album.

Although she has not yet made the tracklist available for In Pieces, fans are still excited about what can potentially come from this release. Along with the Chris Brown song, listeners are hoping to see more sensational R&B collaborations for the LP. Perhaps maybe even her friend SZA could join in the party. Either way, though, SZA’s prediction for Chloë’s future s a safe, yet sound one. Chlöe has all the pieces to be a superstar, and her upcoming project will surely show that.

Chlöe’s ‘In Pieces’: Everything To Know Including The Release Date, Features, And More

Fans of Chlöe x Halle are in for a treat. Chlöe is stepping out on her own for her new album, In Pieces, her debut as a solo artist.

“I have been the rawest, the most vulnerable, and the most open I have been in my entire life with this album,” she said in a statement, adding, “I used to believe the way I love so hard without question, was a curse. Only to find out it’s been my greatest gift all along.”

So far, the record’s rollout has not been without excitement and controversy. Find the details about the album below.

Release Date

In Pieces is out 3/31 via Parkwood/Columbia. Pre-save it here.

Tracklist

The full tracklist has not yet been revealed. However, based on the album’s listing on Apple Music, the album will include a total of 14 tracks. Although previously shared singles “Treat Me” and “Have Mercy” didn’t make the final cut, “Pray It Away” has.

Features

This is where the controversy comes in. The only feature Chlöe has confirmed so far is Chris Brown for the song “How Does It Feel.” His history of harassment, battery, sexual assault, and more prompted fans to take to social media to call out Chlöe. The track arrives on February 24.

Artwork

The album’s cover art features the singer confidently staring directly into the camera dressed in a form-fitting red latex gown.

Singles

The lead single is “Pray It Away,” a powerful song about overcoming a breakup with spirituality: “God knows my heart, I’m wildin’, wildin’ / So close to doin’ somethin’ / Maybe I should go and take it to church / And wash it away,” she sings.

She also revealed that none of her previous singles like “Have Mercy,” “Treat Me,” “Surprise,” or the Latto-assisted “For The Night” will be on the album.
