Pusha T Told Ice-T His Name Came From His 1988 Classic
Rappers often pay homage to artists that they admire, and Pusha T is revealing how a Hip Hop icon inspired his moniker. Push is a well-respected lyricist in his own right, but he doesn’t have a problem giving pioneers their flowers. He especially honored Ice-T, revealing that “Pusha T” was derived from one of the “Colors” hitmaker’s songs.
A clip from Pusha’s appearance at the Grammys hit the internet, specifically a moment he had with Revolt on the red carpet. “An Ice-T song, ‘I’m Your Pusher,’” he revealed. Push was asked if Ice-T was aware of his influence. “You know what? I seen him standing outside of a hotel one day and I actually did tell him.”

It was an unforgettable moment that Pusha T was grateful for. “I actually gave him all his flowers, right then and there, I had to,” he added. So, what did Ice have to say about it? “Listen, he told me he was actually a fan of my work, and that was enough for me.” When it was noted that Ice-T was a “real G,” Pusha didn’t hesitate to reply, “One thousand percent!”
After catching the clip on social media, Ice-T reposted the kind exchange. In the caption, he had nothing but praise for the Virginia hitmaker. “Absolutely nothing but Respect to @PUSHA_T Love is love,” he stated. “Plus he’s one of the Best to ever do it.” Fans praised the feel-good moment, especially as Hip Hop has been littered with division.

Meanwhile, Ice-T was one of the dozens of Hip Hop pioneers and hitmakers to take to the Grammys stage last weekend. The Los Angeles entertainer’s reach has gone far beyond music, as he’s now more recognized for his Law & Order character than his Gangster Rap days. In fact, he revealed he had to put his television filming on pause to make the Hip Hop 50th Grammy tribute.
“Questlove calls me up and he says, ‘All right, you gotta come to L.A. this weekend… It’s a big performance, I got you in the lineup,’” he recalled. “And I was still hesitant ’cause it’s a long travel, But then he says, ‘You don’t want to be sitting at home watching this show, saying you should’ve been there. I was invited but I didn’t show up.’ And I got my Black a** on a plane.”

Ice-T Reacts To Man Checking Out His Wife Coco At The Grammys
Ice-T and Coco Austin showed out over Grammy weekend. Of course, the Gangsta Rap pioneer played a huge role in Questlove’s Hip Hop 50 performance that brought together intergenerational talent. However, he also watched the show from the sideline as performers like Jay-Z, Quavo, Bad Bunny, and more graced the stage.
While seated in the audience, Ice-T’s wife Coco appeared to catch the attention of a fellow attendee. The Law & Order actor took to Twitter where he shared a video of a man blatantly staring at Coco. Though the individual seeming acknowledged Ice-T beforehand, he clearly was fixated on Coco’s assets. However, the 64-year-old MC didn’t appear to be distressed over the man’s glare. In fact, he gets exactly why the man did it.
“Lol… I love how the white dude looked at me then took time to check Coco out,” Ice-T wrote. “I TOTALLY understand..” However, he didn’t end up identifying the individual who was staring. Given that Ice-T and Coco stood next to Grammy nominee, Future, it seems as though the man could’ve been some sort of person working within the music industry.
Ice-T’s reaction doesn’t necessarily seem all that shocking, especially since he understands Coco’s sex appeal. Over the years, he hasn’t shied away from expressing his fondness for Coco’s butt. Last August, Ne-Yo alleged that Ice-T gave him the green light to squeeze Coco’s behind. Apparently, Coco was wearing a racy costume at a Halloween party and Ne-Yo was feeling bold after a few shots.
“So, I walked up to him and was like, ‘Bro, with all due respect, uh, I’ve been wanting to squeeze Coco’s ass for a really long time,” Ne-Yo recalled telling “I’m Your Pusher” rapper once upon a time. Though you’d expect most men to get defensive of other men staring at their wife, the singer said Ice-T’s reaction was the complete opposite. “You knoIce-T and w what? I’m just the kind of pimp that’ll let you do it,” Ne-Yo recalled Ice-T telling him.
Ice-T and Coco celebrated their 21st anniversary in 2022. It’s quite clear that they’re still going strong. Check out Ice-T’s post below and sound off in the comments with your thoughts.
Questlove Reveals that Will Smith Was Supposed to Make A Surprise Appearance At Grammys, but Had to Cancel Due to Bad Boys 4 Filming
It’s been a while since Will Smith has been on a stage at an awards show, but allegedly, he was scheduled to make a surprise appearance at the Grammy’s this past Sunday night. However, his comeback performance was derailed due to conflicts with filming Bad Boys 4.
In the weeks leading up to the Grammy’s, host Trevor Noah had hinted that there would be surprise guest appearances, but had kept quiet about specifics. However, Questlove, who produced a 10-minute 50th anniversary of hip-hop tribute performance for the ceremony, let one no-show surprise guest name slip on the red carpet.
Questlove told a Variety reporter that he was going to give the spoiler alert away. “Will Smith was a part of the festivities tonight, but they started shooting Bad Boys 4 this week. There were a lot of preliminary shots that he had to do, so we had to lose Will.”
The show did, however, go on without Smith. Missy Elliott, Run-DMC, LL Cool J, The Roots, Big Boi, Busta Rhymes, GloRilla, Rakim, Ice-T, Lil Baby, GloRilla, Lil Uzi Vert, and more showcased their talents in a commemorative tribute to the genre.
Before the performance, Dr. Dre was honored with the inaugural Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. He spoke about the impact that hip-hop had on him while saying that he was happy to be influencing the next generation of artists. The full performance can be seen below.
Questlove said that pulling off the show took a lot of hard work, telling the New York Times that “it was a lot of mountains to move to make this happen,” noting that Will Smith was not the only celebrity who couldn’t make it. Future and Lil’ Wayne also had toco cancel due to other commitments.
It’s been almost a year since Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars in March of 2022.

Freddie Gibbs & Ice-T Are Disappointed After 21 Savage’s Explosive Clubhouse Comments
21 Savage’s recent appearance on Clubhouse left Freddie Gibbs and Ice-T shocked. The Her Loss rapper hopped on the platform where he engaged in a heated argument over Chicago’s murder rate, basically leading to a potentially incriminating admission.
“Every n**a that we beef with, 30 of they n***as get smoked and don’t nothing happen to us!” he said.
Following the recent crackdown on Atlanta gangs, 21 Savage’s comments left many disturbed that he’d make such a claim on a highly publicized platform.
“N***az arguing over who killed the most n***az on clubhouse,” he wrote alongside a facepalm emoji.
Ice-T chimed in on Gibbs’ tweet afterward. He said that he feels law enforcement created Clubhouse as a tool to nab criminals. “I actually think that app was created by the police. Especially for Dumb MFs,” he added.
21’s comments also led Atlanta-based journalist, George Chidi, to share some advice. Chidi has closely followed the YSL RICO trial, as well as the ongoing investigations in Atlanta.
“Rappers who think APD and the attorney general’s office don’t listen to Clubhouse are talking in a public forum on recorded audio about committing murders,” he wrote. “Gentlemen. Stop living in a Key & Peele sketch.”
Rappers in Atlanta are clearly being monitored heavily these days. During Young Thug’s trial, the judge read his lyrics from “Slime Shit” aloud in court. Though his defense team attempted to have the lyrics dismissed from evidence, a judge has yet to rule on the motion.
Ice-T Reacts to Rumors That He’s Beefing With Law & Order Co-star Christopher Meloni
Ice-T and Law & Order SVU co-star Christopher Meloni cleared the air regarding rumors that the two have been beefing on the set.
According to a tweet from Meloni, Ice-T sent him a screenshot from an email he had received that said that the two had been beefing since Meloni’s return to the Law & Order franchise.
“To Whom It May Concern,” the email started. “The National ENQUIRER is preparing to publish a story reporting actors Ice-T and Christopher Meloni are feuding since the latter’s return to the franchise.”
The email adds that the source of the rumored beef is due to Ice-T growing envious of Meloni for the attention he has been getting.
Ice-T took to Twitter, where he quoted a Tweet Meloni had posted of the email. “Just sent this email over to my guy @Chris_Meloni,” Ice-T wrote on Twitter. “Clownass MFs trying to make up Drama outta thin air… WOW… MFs are really on that BS.”
Meloni left the long-running show in 2011 in its 12th season. However, he returned to SVU in 2021 with his own spinoff show, Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Ice-T Reacts After Reports That He’s Beefing With “Law & Order” Co-Star Chris Meloni
Ice-T and Chris Meloni cleared the air following rumors that there’s tension between the two on the set of Law & Order.
The Gangsta rap pioneer denied that he and Meloni had any sort of feud since the latter returned to the show.
“Just sent this email over to my guy @Chris_Meloni,” Ice-T wrote on Twitter. “Clownass MFs trying to make up Drama outta thin air… WOW… MFs are really on that BS.”
Ice-T’s statement came shortly after Chris Meloni’s tweet, which included a screenshot of an email he received from The National Enquirer.
“The National ENQUIRER is preparing to publish a story reporting actors Ice-T and Christopher Meloni are feuding since the latter’s return to the franchise,” the e-mail read. “Sources told The ENQUIRER that the former rapper has grown envious of the attention that Mr. Meloni has received since coming back.
Meloni wrote, “So…@FINALLEVEL was sent this. He was kind enough to let me know we were feuding.”
Ice-T responded, “LOL… Clownass MFs.. Chris is my MF man! F’em They just make BS up. Crazy.”
Chris Meloni made a return to Law & Order: SVU in 2011 during the show’s 12th season. In 2021, he explained that his reason to leave the show was due to issues with his contract. However, he returned two years ago, reuniting on screen with Ice-T, once again.
Unlike his co-star, Ice-T’s had a historical run on the NBC show. Ice-T recently celebrated his role on Law & Order: SVU in October. The Gangsta rap icon officially spent over 20 years as Detective Fin Tutuola since joining the cast in 2000.
Coco Austin Defends Video Of 7-Year Old Daughter Twerking
