Diddy Sees Jump in Streams Since Federal Indictment

IMG 8932

Can’t stop won’t stop is a real thing, at least when it comes to Diddy’s music catalog. Sean Combs extensive songs, albums and collaborations have experienced a notable increase in streams following his recent arrest and the unsealing of an indictment against him.

Look, that was expected. People are going to play his music more out of sheer curiosity.

Get this, according to Luminate, a leading industry data and analytics company, Combs’ music, spanning his various monikers — including Diddy, Puff Daddy, and P. Diddy — saw an 18.3% rise in on-demand streams during the week of his arrest, compared to the week prior.

George Howard, a professor of music business management at Berklee College of Music, stated, “Music just becomes another piece of information as people try to comprehend the atrocities,” Howard explained to The Associated Press. “It’s like, ‘What would someone whose brain works like that, allegedly, what would their music sound like?’”

What’s more is people also noted that many people may now associate Combs more with his various business ventures, such as Revolt TV and Ciroc vodka (although he’s no longer affiliated with either), than with his music career.

“The natural curiosity that these types of charges evoke makes sense,” Howard added. “It’s like driving by a car crash. People want to look.”

Such increases in streaming numbers following controversy are not uncommon. For instance, after a documentary accused R. Kelly of sexual misconduct involving women and underage girls, his streaming numbers nearly doubled.

Howard went on to point out that the “anonymization” of streaming might be contributing to the spike in plays for both Combs and Kelly. “Imagine walking into a record store now like, ‘Yeah, I want to buy this Diddy CD,’” he said.

No matter how you feel about Diddy, he’s made more music than most humans alive and avoiding it is not going to be easy, even for those who want to.

Nicki Minaj Goes Off On Music Exec Steve Stoute Over Tidal Claims

Nicki Minaj and JAY-Z are not on good terms these days. The rapper called out Hov for failing to pick her mentor, Lil Wayne, as the Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner. She also criticized the Roc Nation founder for not paying what she felt she was owed for her Tidal deal in 2015. She made her frustration with these situations clear via social media. Former Interscope CEO Steve Stoute tried to shed light on the Tidal deal during a recent podcast appearance, but Nicki Minaj didn’t want to hear it. She doubled down on her issues and instead turned her ire towards the music executive.

Steve Stoute discussed Nicki Minaj’s dubious Tidal deal on The Pivot Podcast. He claimed that she failed to make the money she felt she was owed because paperwork wasn’t properly filled out. “You didn’t sign the f**king paperwork,” Stoute explained. “That’s the reason why you left millions of dollars on the table, that man didn’t do nothing to you.” Stoute defended JAY-Z’s role in the Tidal deal, and proceeded to call out Nicki Minaj for behaving in a manner he considered “wrong.” Minaj was not swayed. She felt she was mislead by Hov and the rest of the Tidal team. She said as much on Twitter.

Nicki Minaj Claims She Was ‘Scammed’ Out Of $1 Million

“I received a call advising Tidal was sold,” Nicki Minaj tweeted after Stoute’s podcast comments. “And they made no money on the deal so all they could offer me was a million dollars. But wait, there’s more. The lawyer advised that Desirat advised him that I HAD TO SIGN THE AGREEMENT IN 24 HOURS IF I WANTED THE 1MM or the offer was off the table.” The rapper proceeded to tell her fans that Hov and company basically scammed her out of a sizable payday. A payday she was promised well before the streaming platform sold in 2021.

“I was scammed & offered a million dollars to be silenced,” Nicki Minaj alleged. “I declined. The grace of God is sufficient. I didn’t need their hush money…” Minaj has been widely criticized for her public attacks on JAY-Z. As evidenced by these tweets, however, she remains steadfast. She even tweeted lyrics from a 2014 song of her that seemingly addressed her “difficult” reputation. As far as she’s concerned, she’s in the right as long as sticks with people that are loyal to her. JAY-Z and Steve Stoute do not make the cut.

Al B. Sure! Wants New Investigation Into Death of Kim Porter

IMG 8931

This is Diddy thing getting exhausting and darker by the day. Al B. Sure!, the R&B singer and former partner of the late model Kim Porter, is demanding an investigation into her sudden and tragic death, particularly in light of the recent arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs, who also had a relationship with Porter. Porter, who passed away in 2018, was reportedly working on a book that, according to Al B. Sure!, may have exposed troubling individuals in her life.

Here’s what went down.

On Monday, September 23, Al B. Sure! took to Instagram to express his suspicions, posting three detailed messages.

Sure suggested that Porter’s death may have involved foul play, due to her intent to reveal sensitive information in her planned memoir.

Get this, he also alleged that her original book notes were stolen by “publicists and conspirators,” who acted on the orders of an unnamed individual. Al B. Sure! further claims that he has faced threats to his own life for attempting to uncover the truth. This comes after he insinuated earlier this year that Diddy could have been involved in his own coma in 2022.

“For over a decade and a half, I’ve been posting about, and tagging random law enforcement agencies in hopes to protect loved ones, avoid deaths & tragedies that could have all been avoided. Despite this, I have been ignored, ridiculed and medically silenced to cover up these crimes you’re all now aware of by a very aggressive #PR Team and costly campaign to silence and physically harm me from exposing,”

Here’s the post from Al B. Sure!

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DAQA8EtRHr2/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA=

Al B. Sure! Went on to write “It only aimed to prevent me from further sharing publicly the ifacts and insights @LadyKP shared with me during our frequent and intimate conversations in her selfless attempts to save my life by sharing frequent plans to do harm, and possibly by ending my life.”

In his sincere plea, Al B. Sure! formally called for an investigation into the group of individuals who worked in or around Porter’s home. He claimed that these individuals, including publicists, were responsible for stealing her computer and mobile devices, which contained the “original book notes.”

What’s more, he also addressed a controversial tell-all book about Kim Porter that was circulated on Amazon, which he said contains false and offensive information.

This is wild.

Al B. Sure! is now urging authorities to take a deeper look into Kim Porter’s death and the individuals involved, as he continues to push for what he believes to be the truth behind her untimely passing.

Soulja Boy Enters the Chat On Diddy “I would have killed his b**** ass”

IMG 8927

Soulja Boy has entered the chat. The “Turn My Swag On” rapper just gave some harsh words for Sean “Diddy” Combs following the embattled and now incarcerated music mogul’s recent arrest, taking to socials to share his, well you know, thoughts.

“If Diddy ever tried me like any of these gay rappers I would have killed his b**** ass,” Soulja Boy, 34, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Saturday, September 21. The post appeared to reference Diddy’s arrest and the accusations outlined in the 14-page indictment, which included disturbing allegations related to so-called “Freak Offs.”

ICYMI and have been living under a rock lately, Diddy, 54, was arrested on September 16 in New York, with video footage of the arrest emerging a few days later.

The notorious clip, released by TMZ on September 20, showed the music icon entering the Park Hyatt New York Hotel in midtown Manhattan before being stopped by law enforcement. He was then seen being led away in handcuffs and escorted out of the hotel.

The indictment is absolutely disturbing and following Diddy’s arrest accuses him of years of abuse, threats, and coercion involving women and others in his circle. The charges include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transporting individuals for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Diddy has maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty during his court appearance on September 17. He was denied bail and will remain in custody until his trial.

But Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, spoke out in defense of his client, telling CNN’s The Source with Kaitlan Collins, not to be confused with The Source, us, that “He’s innocent. I believe he’s innocent. I believe he’s innocent of the charges. He is going to go to trial. And I believe he’s going to win.”

At least we now know where Soulja Boy stands.

Victoria Monét Confirms Her Breakup From Longtime Boyfriend John Gaines

Earlier this month, Victoria Monét fans were ecstatic to learn that the “On My Mama” singer is preparing to release a deluxe edition of her Grammy-winning album, Jaguar II. But while that news was welcome, today, she followed it with some less pleasant news, confirming her breakup with longtime boyfriend John Gaines, with whom she shares one child.

In a statement posted to her social media, she explained why she waited nearly ten months before making the announcement, while also asking fans to “be gentle” with the former couple and their daughter. You can read the full statement below.

With good intentions, we honestly have been avoiding a formal statement about something as natural and as personal as love. We originally preferred to keep this out of the public (as announcing this publicly is sure to make pain resurface) but it is becoming more and more difficult to suppress. Yes, we have seen all of the questions and extremely false accusations of our origin story and we have thought long and hard about whether we owed it to anyone to explain where we are as we heal, since we understand how social media can magnify the truth or run far with untruths. Ultimately we decided to be open and address it in hopes to put a period on the question marks for the sake of our healing process.
We spent the last 10 months trying to respectfully and privately navigate the fact that we are no longer in a relationship. Though we still completely adore and respect each other, we are not a couple anymore. There was no infidelity, toxic behavior nor drama. We both just have some fundamental growing to do that would be best done apart so we can remain the best versions of ourselves for our daughter. It simply didn’t work out and that’s okay. We still think the world of each other and operate with love in every interaction for our family. We have an incredible daughter to raise for life and that is undoubtedly our number 1 priority forever. No relationship status can remove or replace that fact. We are committed to doing the inner work and trust that God will place us both where we belong in due time.
To all of our supporters, friends and family, thank you for your love, care and concern. Please allow us the peace and space to maintain a safe and happy environment to continue to co-parent to the best of our ability for Hazel! We plan to remain a family regardless of our public facing title, so please when you see us together with Hazel, be understanding and gentle. We appreciate you all for hearing us out and hope to be kept in your well intentioned prayers. Thank you
Sincerely Victoria and John

Young Dolph’s Alleged Shooter Says He Got Just $800 Of The Promised $40,000

Day one of Young Dolph’s murder trial is presenting some interesting evidence so far. Prior to the hearing for Justin Johnson, Cornelius Smith, and Hernandez Govan, the latter was suspected to be organizer of the hit. However, Shelby County Assistant District Attorney Paul Hagerman is claiming that Big Jook, the late brother of Yo Gotti, is the actual Govan. “Big Jook, the person I told you about before, the number two guy at CMG, he’s put out a hit… $100,000 to whoever kills Dolph. He has met with Justin. He has met with Cornelius and they think they’re ready to do it”.

Following that, attorneys would go on to present video surveillance footage of the day Dolph was ambushed. Even though it doesn’t show the entire shooting, it still reveals all people need to know. In the first update, it’s been said that Johnson was the lead gunman. His motivation for killing Dolph was that he was apparently looking to ink a deal with Yo Gotti’s CMG label. Given the two label heads past, this does sort of connect the dots. The other incentive was a reported $100,000 prize for carrying it out.
